Nice enough space, but I had to get the keycards reprogrammed 4 times for a 2 night stay as they would stop working. They warned me that putting the cards by phone would erase so it's a known issue.

bugs in one of the rooms, card lock didn’t work properly and staff decided to offer to move us at 11:00pm. we said no when they said they would give discount in morning. no went down in morning and manager was rude and she said they didn’t leave any info about what happened and since we declined to move, they took that as we accepted room as is. Terrible management and total disregard for customer satisfaction. buried my mother that morning and will NEVER stay at that place again.

It was amazing the only complaint is about the breakfast; the eggs were watery and wish there was some meat for protein. But the waffles were great and it had a good selection of other things just no meat.

No black out curtains in the room. Too much light for me! The front desk lady was somewhat rude when I called for a wake up call and it was seven minutes late. Told me there is an alarm clock in the room, glad I set it. Probably won't stay there again!

It was a nice quiet stay The lighting was good in half the room. One of the staff members humiliated me in front of another guest when I tried to verify my check out. Stating loudly, "YOU DONT KNOW WHEN YOU CHECKOUT" "IM CONFUSED" I turned and walked away. Another staff member at 5:00 am was at the desk. I could smell the brewing coffee and when I entered the dining hall shot over like I was trespassing. We are guests not inmates! All others were very accommodating as well as the cleaning staff were very sweet.

Beds were really uncomfortable and we didn’t like how you couldn’t turn off the balcony light so added with the parking lot lights it made the room really bright at night. Other than that day was great.

My husband and I are in Galveston every 3 months to cruise. We always stay at Baymont on the SeaWall. It is a block from the beach, and we can sit out on the balcony and watch the ocean. Love this place

My only complaint would be the options for breakfast. Not a whole lot and it was the whole reason we chose this hotel over others. This was not breakfast it was some cold items and a waffle maker. Breakfast options.

The room was clean but they doused the halls and rooms with so much carpet fresh daily it was so over powering, making my stay miserable, I couldn't wait to move hotels,

When she finally came to help me with the machine. The machine still would not work. We had to go across the street to another hotel to use their washing machine. And the carpet was dirty, and the couch was disgusting. And the room had an odor to it.

Excellent. Very comfortable bed. I appreciate the coffee pot, refrigerate and microwave. Be careful! The base of the bed is metal and make a loud noise. The bathroom floor drain cover was put in before the tile. The tile was cut/chipped around the hole. It's a trip hazard for anyone especially a handicapped person. The drain cover need to be put on top of the tile, not under it. Whoever laid the tile should have removed the drain cover, laid the tile then put the cover on top. I was in Room #121.

Breakfast was very good with scrambled eggs, pastries, cereal, fruit, and waffles.

Overall our 3 nights stay was good. There was one minor incident that happened where we could not get to our floor because of a maintenance issue that caused slight flooding. Nothing of ours or our room we stayed in was affected but it was an inconvenience to sit in lobby for 45 minutes.

The last that checked us in, I think her name was Mekei, she was fantastic!!!! So friendly, so helpful!!! She should be at all hotels!!! There was a bit of a sprinkler issue, flooding, fans, etc But not a huge issue!

when you come in the hotel it had an odor, in the hallways and the room as well, we had to go to Walmart to get plugins to help with the odor, the pool was full of bugs and the evening/ night staff was very rude several times when we asked questions.

The electric went off in the morning we were checking out and we both have trouble getting down stair’s, didn’t know how to get in touch with desk for help going down the stairs. I took my bag to closest exit and asked another guest coming up stairs to help me and they were so gracious and helpful taking my bag down the three floors for me. I went to desk told the desk clerk my problem and asked if they could send someone to go to my husband’s room and help him get the bags down. They immediately sent some up to help. The electric was off two hours, a rain storm was the cause I supposed. A number to reach desk would have been helpful in the room. TY

The lights went out during our stay for an hour and a half and they didn’t extend breakfast. I thought that was kind of not cool. Yes I understand it wasn’t there situation they could control, but they still could’ve allowed people to eat breakfast after the lights turned on.

The property was very well maintained, had a great set up, plenty of parking, friendly and helpful staff. The water pressure was great, the beds were comfortable, and although we didn’t use the pool, it was in very clean / good shape. We will definitely be back for our next trip to Galveston!

The room was spacious and clean. My only complaints are about the bathroom. The toilet paper was very thin. They could get better quality and people wouldn’t use as much. Also the bathroom light automatically turn on the fan. Not great when you go at night and wake up your spouse. These are small grievances and overall this is a great place to stay while on The Island.

Very nice clean room, all though the carpet was pretty old it made your feet a little black. Maybe change that out. Guy at the front was really nice when we checked in. We would for sure stay again.

Just came off a cruise and wanted some down time. Perfect location, close to the beach and a very large room. Felix, who was on duty, was extremely helpful with extra washcloths and a blanket. I plan to stay there again.

The room looked clean, but opened the closet and you could see dirt on the floor. Good water pressure as well. The main halls had a funny smell kinda smelt like they used a dirty shampooer on the floors. Staff was great very friendly and helpful. The breakfast could have been better, only protein was eggs. Waffles were good and good coffee. Kids enjoyed the pool and there was lots of parking.

Check-in was fairly easy, 1 key card worked most of the time, other did not. Room was pretty good, a little wear and tear, but nothing too bad. Bed wasn’t the MOST comfortable, but again, not bad. Felt like the rate was a little high, especially for lack of options at breakfast.

The breakfast menu had powdered eggs, bread, cereal, waffles, and yogurt. It was ok in quality. After breakfast times the areas were cleaned and tables put up, so no area to just sit. Towels were clean and the rooms were ok. Unfortunately, I started getting spam calls after I booked my room here.

Great place for the price. Cleaner hotel room than most I’ve stayed in the past few years. Definitely a bit dated, but comfortable room and great staff. Only downside is it is a bit outside of the main attractions of Galveston, but with Uber and public transit options, it is a nice trade for a quiet place.

Upon arrival we were not warmly welcomed as one would expect in Galveston. Front desk staff was rude. The property is in need of some major updates and a deep cleaning. After arriving, it was decided that we were going to go elsewhere. Would not recommend.

Very dated and run down. Room smelled very old and musky and didn’t seem really clean. We actually went and bought room spray. The paint was coming off the hand rails in the bathroom really bad. No water pressure in the shower. Breakfast was bad. Only eggs and waffles. Nothing else. Door keys worked part of the time. For the price we were expecting a much better stay. Won’t stay there again. For the price there’s a lot of other options that are cleaner and all around better.

Things we're ok except the scent from cleaning room and washing bedding. I'm alergic to perfume and dyes. And had to cover pillow with coat. Could hardly breathe. Opened door so most of smell would be out of room.

The room was clean and adequate for our needs. The breakfast was good. Our only issue was that even though the check-in time is 4:00, our room wasn't ready when we arrived at 4:30, and we had to wait until 5:00 for it to be ready.

It was our first time as a family of 7 visiting the Island and we had a fantastic stay. The hotel was conveniently located within a walking distance to the beach as well as close to all of the amenities. The staff were very friendly and provided extra towels and a great breakfast. There is also a laundry machine which was very convenient. Thank you for a great stay at an affordable price!

We just stayed one night. The hotel had everything we needed and was within walking distance to a convenience store.

Loved the place except for The feature on a bathtub faucet that hinders hot water is commonly known as a hot water limiter. When you want hot water you should be able to get it! Otherwise we enjoyed our short 2 day stay.

Its an older hotel but safe and clean. I was disappointed there wasn't bacon or ham in breakfast area and no orange juice. We always use this hotel before our cruises.

The pool was a little cold, but the breakfast was awsome and the staff was helpful.

We rented a room, the first one they took is to was filthy so we asked for another room. It certainly wasn't anything special, it had the basic items. We ended up on the 3rd floor in room 332. There were black bugs in the beds so we itched a lot. My friend went down for breakfast 1 minute late and she wasn't permitted to get anything. We DID NOT smoke in the room at all, but housekeeping saw cigarette butts my friend had thrown in the trash and charged me 150.00 extra that I wasn't aware of till I checked me back account. Please beware if you decide to stay here. I should've taken pictures of the condition of the room and the bugs. Unfortunately, I didn't.

Great hotel, was there for a short stay. The hot water didn't work the day I left, but it seemed by their service if I was staying they would have addressed quickly.

Internet was fast and lots of tv channels weather interfered a little but that’s expected! Staff was very friendly and helpful and while we didn’t end up using room service (our own choice and was only there two days) I did see them in the Halls always and our room was very nice and clean when we got there 10/10!

Kim was AMAZING! She was very welcoming upon our arrival and got us situated right away.

This hotel has a cigarette receptacle just outside the front door, along with a bench. You don't need me to tell you what happens. Smokers sit on the bench and guests have to walk thru the stench to enter and exit the hotel. This is my second time having this experience at this hotel. I guess it prefers to cater to the handful of smokers rather than the majority who are nonsmokers. And since my room was above the front entrance, I also received the cigar stench on my balcony. Not pleasant.

This was an excellent hotel for our group. The two beds in a room are King-sized and very comfortable. The location was close to a fun Texas Roadhouse restaurant and on the main beach road. It is set back from the road so there was no street noise. The breakfast had a lot of variety with a Texas-shaped waffle. It was perfect for us as we stayed overnight before our cruise. The pool was under repair which would have been a disappointment if we were staying longer. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The water never got truly hot during our stay. There is no daily housekeeping, which should be clearly disclosed at booking. The pool area was also out of order with no mention of this beforehand. The only vending option on site accepted cash only, which was inconvenient. The front desk is not staffed 24/7. When we needed assistance, there was a sign stating staff would be back in 15 minutes, leaving us waiting while trying to resolve issues. Staff members were polite enough, but once it was apparent that our reservation was booked through a third-party site, they seemed even less interested in assisting us. Interactions felt uncomfortable, and they appeared put out by routine moments such as check-in, addressing concerns, and check-out. Overall, the hotel was adequate if cleanliness is your top priority, but the outdated condition, lack of amenities, limited desk availability, and service experience would make me hesitant to stay here again.

Staff was extremely friendly and helpful on check in. However, the room lacked hot water,staff said just let it run, which didn't help. The plumbing was stopped up and the room smelled awful. The bed was so bad i slept in a chair. We left around 6 am. I told the staff and all he said was im sorry for that. It was a nightmare. Not to mention neighbors kids screamed half the night which was not under hotels control.

Room was clean. Easy check in and check out! Its no new motel but everything worked properly. I actually liked that the room supplied more stuff than more expensive hotels. The beach was across the street, many grocery stores, restaurants, and bars in walking distance. Overall quiet motel, breakfast was basic. The room had a stuffy air feel, however I noticed it at other Galveston establishments.

The service was good, staff was friendly at the front and prompt to help. However we asked for clean sheets since we had a minor accident with water and it took hours before we got the service. The lady that helped us was very nice too, it was just the waiting. The breakfast was very limited (waffles, cereal and toast). Coffee ran out. Our room was nice and it had a balcony.

The staff was friendly and answered all questions. Everything was very clean. Our room was spacious and even had a small balcony!! The breakfast is very carb forward which, unfortunately for me, didn't work out too well. There was yogurt, waffles, sliced bread, blueberry muffins, fruit loops and corn flakes. Apples too. Overall this is a very nice hotel and I'd stay here again.

Now we are jumping through hoops to get a full refund since she DID show up. They are claiming that the staff offered her a room at a sister property and that she declined. This never happened. The go on to state that the power outage was not their fault and they couldn't control it... WHO CARES?! They told her to go find another hotel. Not real good customer service if you ask me. Past stays at this hotel have been very satisfactory.

Our room and the hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff working day and night were helpful and professional. The only problem we had (and probably due to the location of our room) was that we heard doors shutting throughout the night and early morning. I still got a good night's sleep, but my husband tends to be a light sleeper. Thank you.

The hotel was better than I expected. This hotel is very well run. Well maintained. Super nice staff. I like the fact that there are lots of trash cans in public areas. I like the grab bar in the tub/shower. Ckean room. I am a seasoned traveler.

My friend was stuck in the elevator and no one seemed concerned. She finally got off when the elevator jerked and moved upward to floor 3. She was crying and shaking when she met me for breakfast. I went to discuss it with the front desk manager and all she said was, “Is she out? We were looking for her.” No hazard signs, no closer if the elevator, and very little compassion for the stress it caused. This was handled very unprofessionally.

Although our stay was overnight for a cruise, I must say it was very welcoming and the Staff was very courteous. Each room had a balcony and very spacious. Our group consisted of 15 people and the only downside was the breakfast are the lack there of.

Comfortable bed, nice smiling staff other than one person who saw me walk out front in the morning and wouldn't let me back in. My husband was making his breakfast in the lounge area and I had to knock to get his attention because he had our room key. I had walked outside to see what the weather was like so I knew how to dress for the day for our motorcycle ride. The front desk person stared at me the whole time and never bothered to open the door to let me back in. I don't understand it but everything else was great.

The saff was amazing!! They are having some work done at the front so it is a little messy, but nothing too serious. We stayed 3 nights and never once heard any loud music or anything nice an quiet. The only ding woukd be the breakfast. Not much of a variety the old toast, oatmeal,waffles. Wish they had a better breakfast it would make this place a must destination.

Property was safe and quiet. The only thing that I didn’t like was the ac blew moisture into the room leaving items feeling a little damp.

We had a great stay here in July! The property is just off (behind- 1/2 a block in) the Main Street and at the intersection where there’s a trolley stop. Very convenient and cheap access to the “downtown” area while the hotel itself was located right at/ across the street (1/2 a block) from the beach. We were able to wake up and go straight to the beach and then come back, shower, and head to dining and the Galveston city attractions. We chose to leave our car and take the trolley or uber into town so as not to have to worry about finding or paying for parking during a holiday weekend. That was easy! While in Galveston, we enjoyed a walking ghost tour the first night, (it was hokey yet fun & gave us a feel for the history of the island), great dining at Gaido’s, Katie’s, The Spot, and Brick House Tavern. On Friday morning (4th of July!) we hit Pleasure Pier when it opened and road all the rides, saw the interactive 4-D movies and enjoyed almost no lines!!! There was a very festive and full parade in the afternoon (super crowded but fun) and fireworks in the evening! Be sure to make a reservation for dinner on parade night or you’ll end up waiting a while!!! It was a great visit and the Baymont a convenient and clean home base (that didn’t break the bank!)

Seemed overpriced for what we got. The breakfast had no savory options, just waffles, bread, cereal, and muffins. No protein. Very poor water pressure and water was always hot. House cleaning was every other day, meaning we didn't get our room cleaned the entire duration of our 2 night stay. It was a convenient distance from the beach, but only had sidewalks for about half of it with no street lighting at night. Staff was friendly. Very thin doors where you can hear everyone's conversations in the hallway, but almost no sound coming between rooms, just from the hallway. Narrow walkways making it difficult to maneuver the cart.

Absolutely enjoyed our stay, we were able to see the beach from our room, the room was more than comfortable for our family and it was quiet.

Had a great time. The balcony was nice. We had a side view of the ocean. Room was big and comfy. Staff was very friendly.

Staff was friendly and welcoming. The treadmill in the gym didn't seem to work, but the elliptical and bike did. Seemed clean, but did see a tiny roach (R.I.P.) on the bathroom floor. Breakfast was mediocre.

The room was clean, the door lock was tempermental, breakfast was ok but nothing special overall a good value and location. Needed to check out early 4am to catch a flight but could not get a receipt until 5am so had it emailed which seemed odd.

Instead of feeling like it was an air conditioner inside our room it felt more like a swamp cooler. Very sticky, even the sheets…everything! I believe the a/c wasn’t sucking out the humidity, even though it was cool in here. We’ve stayed here many times, and never any problems like this.

As always very nice stay. Front desk was engaging and polite. She was very nice and professional. Clean and well maintained. Have stayed here several times in the past. Will gladly stay again.

The hotel was very nice and clean. The property was well maintained. They could definitely do some touchup paint in the bathrooms and provide more towels. The guy at the front desk was not very pleasant but other than that I would definitely give them an 8 out of 10.

Good value for the price.

This was our 3rd time to stay here. Rooms are clean and roomie. Walking distance to the sea wall. Close to Walmart, restaurants and shopping. Plan to stay again for our next cruise. Only negative is it can be hard to locate.

The bathroom was clean but the tub was older with a drain plug to use. Water did leak if the plug was not exactly fitted. Overall an average hotel The location makes it do-able simply being on the far end of the seawall

The hotel could only find one room. I booked two rooms. Had to call Expedia talked with Mike and he called the front desk and straightened everything up.

Was a comfy room. I removed the drain plug in the tub and it had mold growing on the bottom of it…. Also people above us sounded like they were gonna fall through the ceiling. But other than that it was a nice comfortable stay for the price!

The staff was friendly but the computers were not working so it took a very long time to check in. The building is older and needs updating. Older buildings have a smell and this one had the smell. Room was clean but I still felt like it was dirty because of the smell.

The hotel staff was nice, the room was clean. The beds were pretty uncomfortable and breakfast was abysmal with stale cereal and very limited options for real food.

Just wish they had hit coffee 24/7 but they did have a microwave.

My stay was ok

All the employees had a positive attitude. Alex, Felix and Jessie were all on top of their game and very accommodating. The bedding and bed were the most comfortable. The only thing my wife and I disliked was the toilet paper; it was like 40-grit sandpaper, so bring your own.

The room is larger than most with a dining table and chairs in front of the window, the AC is ice cold! It's August. Excellent staff. Breakfast was good.

The property location allows you to walk straight down to the beach. It is also near restaurants. If you don't want to drive, there's a Golden Corral and a Waffle House within walking distance.

It was exactly what I needed for this little overnight stay with my granddaughter

We’ve stayed at the Baymont for the 5th time or so over the years when we visit Galveston from Louisiana. Our two sons have stayed before but it was our 3 daughters first time and they absolutely enjoyed every minute of their trip. Not to mention their 6,4, and 1 years old. Always clean and comfortable. Customer service is always top tier. Only thing it could use a bigger breakfast area. We love the balcony too!

Close enough to everything and amazing beach access

I'm pretty picky about hotels, but I booked late and didn't really want to spend $600 a night. This really was a good place to stay. We were able to walk to the beach. It was clean, the bathroom was clean, the beds were nice and there were hardwood floors. The only thing is I wish the pool was nicer. It looked a little murky and cloudy. My daughter works for a pool company and wouldn't let us get in because she said the chemicals were probably off and it was not clean enough. Personally, I think it's just old and that made it look less clean. Other than that, it was a great stay. Breakfast is great if you just want something light. It was your typical continental breakfast. Eat light there and save your calories for one of the great restaurants on the island for lunch and dinner. The staff is fantastic! We left something not even valuable in the room, and they personally called me later in the day to let me know.

The beds were absolutely horrible and not comfortable at all. It felt like a spring mattress from the 80s. I would’ve expected something better from a Wyndham branch. All other amenities were OK. The lobby was well kept and we unfortunately had to leave before breakfast was being served the next morning, but the breakfast area looks clean from what we saw.

I stayed for a week and the staff were very friendly, the hotel was very clean, and although the hotel was full of vacationers it was very quiet at night. This was my second stay at this hotel and I will stay here again.

We were informed upon arrival they were short staffed and would not be getting room maintenance or fresh towels unless we go to the front desk to get them ourselves. The water in the pool was a dark green. Eewww.

It would be nice if more hot items were added to the breakfast menu, like eggs.

location is great. staff are so friendly and helpful. and there's fruit loops for breakfast!!!!! Walking distance to the beach. and Golden Corral next door! Walmart is just down the street. And Sonic is just right there!

Can't complain about staff and cleanliness to stay at. Only thing is that I was expecting eggs, bacon, and sausage for breakfast, but all they had was waffle makers, cereal, juice, enough to start your day, but I still want my eggs, bacon and sausage when I'm on vacation lol. Paper-thin walls with Mexican Polka club music coming through all night, lumpy beds, questionable couple in the pool during checkout. The overnight counter staff was fantastic at attempting to locate and stop the source of the music, but it persisted until nearly 4am. 2 stars for a structurally sound building, clean lobby and effort by the front desk staff. Definitely feel swindled out of far too much money for the experience. Will choose to stay elsewhere in the future.

It was just ok. Nothing great about it. Breakfast no healthy options available

We were also disappointed in the lack of options at the breakfast they include. There were no hot options other than make your own waffles or toast. No eggs, bacon, sausage, etc. as a diabetic, it was disappointing that the options were so limited and none of them really suitable for my dietary needs. The swimming pool looks gross. It appears as though the water is gray. We were informed that the bottom needed to be resurfaced and the water had been tested and was fine, but, it still is just very unappealing. Overall, we definitely will not be staying here again. And quite frankly, we question the Wyndham brand.

When asking to have trash thrown out not full service i was told i had to grab the trash and place outside room . Id prefer to at least have cleaning service to go in and throw away trash . Also considering if youre not staying more than 3 days more towels should be offered in the room for bigger families
