The stay here was excellent. From the friendly staff, to the clean and comfortable room. Our stay was exactly what we were looking for. Close to restaurants and shopping great place to stay in the Gaithersburg area. Will be staying here again.

No blanket for sofa bed, phone did not work, ants everywhere, conditioner bottle empty. Breakfast was just okay.

The hall walking to our room was VERY hot & a little stuffy, it felt like there was no air circulating, but once we were in our room, and adjusted the temp, it was comfortable. The hotel could definitely use some upgrading since it is dated, but we got the room for one night for a great price, and it served us its purpose!

Lightbulb out, not notified room only cleaned every 3 days. Loud traffic noise, couch falling apart, cushions flat (no loft). Poor amenities, no water no napkins, no toiletries. Breakfast, low quality fruit and needed t ok bc as for it as well as napkins. Filthy floor and tables, inadequately staffed.

Parking was fine. I didn't enjoy breakfast; too early (0700-0930)

Clean, comfortable room, adequate breakfast and helpful staff. Unfortunately, both treadmills were out order for several days and Fitness room has no WiFi.

There were dark black stains on the rug near bathroom sink. Bathtub had some old floor non-slip material, which was unsightly. Otherwise, things looked clean which is most important!

My husband loved the eggs and bacon. The boiled eggs were delicious too. The egg patty not so great though. But overall, breakfast was very good. The location to my daughter's was perfect. And I love being near the restaurants and lake. Loved the coffee in the room. Again, the egg patty not so good.

The hotel’s location is great, but the property itself could use some upgrades since it feels quite old. Our room was okay, but there was an unpleasant smell, like urine, which was really off . The breakfast was decent, but the staff could be more attentive with refilling items, especially when there are many guests. During our stay, there were a lot of college students, so quicker service would have been helpful. Overall, it was just an okay experience.

The Springhill Suites Gaithersburg is a nice hotel, with a friendly staff and a wonderful breakfast! I am concerned about the area's security. Gaithersburg has seen an increase in vehicle theft/damage over the past several months, and this hotel does not appear to have adequate security given that.

Sheets on the beds weren't clean.

The room was very clean. But we were on the side of the building facing the interstate and the traffic noise was very annoying. Made it difficult to sleep. And we had specifically asked for a quiet room at check in. It was not quiet.

But...they added a 7$ per day parking fee they did not tell me about ahead of time. They said they refunded the amount back to expedia after they charged my credit card. Ive seen no refund thru expedia or my credit card.

My sister and I were checking the beds and sheets upon arrival and there were signs of bed bugs. I saw bed bug eggs on the pull out mattress and brown/old blood looking stains which are signs of bed beds. The staff did move us to another room but after that we did not feel comfortable staying at all. The room conditions even in the other room were less than favorable.

On the second day, after returning to our room in the evening, we were surprised to find out that no house keeping service had been performed. We went to the front desk to ask about the hotel's housekeeping service policy, she replied with an uncertain tone, "Every two days?" "But you can make a request." She added. So we did, she noted our request on a piece of paper. The next day, when we returned, again, we found that the room had not been cleaned! We went to the front desk to ask. Another lady, the one who had checked us in two days ago when we just arrived, was on duty. We asked why our room was not cleaned despite us making an explicit request. She simply said, "Well, I don't know. I wasn't on duty yesterday. I saw no record." Given the maximal length of 1500 characters, I will make the long story short. The short story is that this lady did offer us to change to a different room as we requested. But she LIED about (1) whether she knew who had been on duty the day before and (2) the fact that she did not tell us about the housekeeping policy when we first checked in. She even obnoxiously suggested that we could have booked a higher-end room if we expected daily housekeeping service. In brief, our complain is that the hotel engaged in false advertising by claiming daily housekeeping service when it is not done and the staff was rude and lied.

AC was noisy, there was a drip sound all night long. Bathroom not set up well. Toilet paper too far to reach, sink area tooo small, no amenities, no dresser, didn’t like the open closet to put my clothes, used the extra blanket & it had a bad smell.

Great location and enjoy our stay. It’s a basic hotel but clean and close to shops and restaurants. Very nice area for walking around.

When we first arrived the staff was very rude looking at us if we didn’t belong. Then the asked before looking at there computer “ARE YOU SURE YOU BOOK WITH OUR HOTEL, AND NOT SOME OTHER HOTEL”. We got to our room it was very clean, and nice except for a musty or moldy smell which I would find out later why. It was a handicap room with a shower bench because I’m handicap. Then when we woke in the middle of the night to use the restroom we found our carpet was soaked because our air conditioner was leaking. We called the front desk, and they moved us to a none handicap room which made our stay uncomfortable. The breakfast buffet was terrible because they did not have enough seating, and people had to stand to eat. Th buffet itself had a very limited selection to eat. The eggs was dry, and tasteless, the oatmeal was lumpy, the bread toaster was broken and couldn’t toast the bread or bagels to brown them. The buffet staff was lazy because when items ran out they never even restocked them. In other words if you didn’t get there early you didn’t eat. This included not restocking the juice or coffee. I will NEVER return to this hotel. I’ve been treated better by days inn or motel 6.

We stayed for a night on our way home. Very nice facility although it looked a little worn in spots. The staff at the hotel was wonderful. The breakfast was average for these type of hotels but not bad. I would definitely stay there again.

Overall OK, and nice location, very close to Rio Lakefront which was great. The room was clean and spacious. We needed a fridge for kids so it worked out. The cleaning schedule is hit or miss, they have a very strict schedule it seems. Also the front staff was always annoyed/rude. I had 3 face-to face with the front desk, all the time they seemed irritated with me. One of the times the lady was just on her phone the whole time, and was very short with me. Upon check out, I brought my key-cards and she looked at me like what? Just throw them in there, and literally said nothing else. The continental breakfast was underwhelming but hey, it was included/free so can't complain to much. My main gripe was with the front desk folks.

Alison at the front desk was amazing! Helpful and friendly. After nearly 9 hours of driving, her smiling face and helpfulness made the day much better! The room was A+. Will definitely stay there again.

The staff were so friendly but the breakfast was a little rough. The eggs had no flavor and the sausage tasted like sanitizer. Use caution and choose other options!

Overall a very nice hotel for the price and location. Was overall disappointed by the breakfast bar. Only fruit available was bananas or whole apples. No waffles or pancakes. Eggs were very dried out. Would have liked a little more variety with fruit or veggies.

The tub was not clean, the kitchen sink was clogged, and the front desk would not give pillow for sofa bed but instead told me to use one of the 4 pillows that's meant for the king size bed. I received the linen for sofa bed and that's it, no pillow.

Convenient and fairly modern facility with good breakfast. Our AC/heater unit did not function properly so we had to turn off. Main issue is that rooms have double beds instead of queens. Sofa beds are not comfortable, no less here than anywhere else. So good for 2 people but not so much for more than 2.

Great location walking distance to RIO boardwalk/mall. Decent breakfast options. Sofa bed was not the best condition and sofa cushions can be steamed cleaned.

Very close to a vibrant dining/shopping (Rio) area that was family friendly with a large playground, pond and paddle boats. Walked to dinner each evening. The hotel was quiet and friendly.

The room was spacious and well-designed. The area was very safe, modern, with lof of dining and shopping options nearby. Gathersburg is very convenient to stay for a visit to DC because you can take a train to DC every day (From ShadyGrove station). We visited DC Saturday and Sunday, so the parking at the station was free and the train ticket was very low.

I signed up for early check in but my room was not ready until almost 5 pm —which is well past regular check in at 3 pm. The complimentary breakfast was hectic with items frequently running out and not being replenished. The guests were loud at all hours, keeping us awake. The room and property could have used a deep clean.

I will definitely be staying at this hotel in the future! The location was great (quick drive to the metro), the front desk was welcoming, helpful and extremely friendly. Came for the weekend to be able to be a quick meto ride into D.C. Im very pleased with my stay!

A typical three star. Clean, breakfast was a bit odd but workable. Near the Rio Center that has lots of restaurants and shops. Close to the highway since we were stopping to rest before continuing on our journey.

nice room. Able to stay on top floor no issue. Quiet. Had issue w our door unlocking and Rene (who worked the overnight shift) took the steps needed to resolve the issue in a timely manner. Management made sure issue was fully resolved the next day.

The hotel was ok. Needs some updates. The lock on the door kept getting stuck, the toilet didn’t flush well, the noise from the freeway was very loud! The staff was very nice, but they operate on a skeleton crew. Breakfast was terrible.

Alison and staff made us feel so welcome . We were traveling with our grandson who is autistic and they “talked” with him , a rarity!

The hotel is great, the room is spacious and clean; I don’t know that I need to ask for service- to change the towels and sheets.

Breakfast staff did not routinely check on replenishing coffee, hot water and condiments table. Tray of eggs, biscuits, bread and bagels were all empty. Toaster oven was not working properly. Had to find kitchen staff to request them refill food tray and hot water thermo.

The property was clean but the breakfast was bad. The ‘warm’ option was bland scrambled egg with bacon everyday. Nothing fancy. The elevator was very slow and there was a long wait time every time we wanted to get in and out. We ended up using the stairs. I wouldn’t stay here next time.
