Red Roof Inn Fredericksburg North

The location was great as it was halfway between my home in MA and my vacation destination in Hilton Head Island SC. I was also traveling with my dog. I stayed on the way to HHI and then on the way back to MA. The staff was very friendly and the accommodations for dogs was ideal, with a large grassy area in the back of the motel for bio breaks. I had a superior non smoking room on the way down, and a standard non smoking room on the way back. Both rooms were large, clean, and comfortable, and included a mini fridge and microwave. There was ample parking, with a space available in front of the room. My only issue was the traffic and neighborhood noise, which was especially loud on the Saturday of my return, including fireworks which frightened my dog. Despite the noise, I would stay again, but next time I will bring earplugs and a white noise machine!

Haven't stayed at a red roof in over 20 years. Was pleasantly surprised at how nice the rooms were. The only bad thing was all of the trucks parallel parking and made it hard to navigate in and out of the parking spots plus the workers leaving at 5 or 6 am with the loud trucks wake you up.

Was looking for a place to stop for the night while traveling with my cats. I was so happy with my choice to stay at Red Roof Inn. The room was extremely clean and I was happy to be able to park right in front of my room. I liked that the hotel was close to I95 and I felt safe with how it was located back off the main road. The bed was really comfortable and the refrigerator was a good size to store my perishables. Cats and I had a good night.

Nothing. The tv did not work, the walls were thin and I could hear the neighbors. The door did not bolt to lock. The rating online was a 8, this was a 5 at best. I did not feel safe and left after a few hours. I was driving 18 hours and needed a place to stay over night. I ended up continuing my drive instead.

Parking clean well kept

The room was as advertised, it looked just like the pictures online. The bed was very comfortable to the point that I didn't want to get out of it the morning. It was a fairly clean and decent place to stay for the night. The walls seamed on the thin side. We could hear people on both sides of us quite clearly more so then in other places we've stayed at.

Great place, great prices, and amazing location. We stayed a couple days here and it was perfectly fine! Staff was very friendly especially the older gentleman who works there! Check in and out was super easy. Pool looked clean and water was perfect temp. On the bonus side we had a room facing the water and was able to get a partial view of the ocean between two other hotels. We will definitely book with them again in the future!

When I told my adult daughters that we were staying at a Red Roof Inn for my friend’s wedding weekend, they were really upset based on past experiences at different locations….. BUT I am happy to report that we were all PLEASANTLY SURPRISED at this location!! The room was very clean and very comfortable. We LOVED the pillows!! We are very picky about pillows! It was definitely no frills, but had everything we needed. We mistakenly thought breakfast was served until 10am on the weekends, and arrived at 930am to no food. The gentleman at the desk went out of his way to make a plate for us!!! We were so grateful!! I will DEFINITELY stay here again when back in town. The price was right and the facilities were great! Thank you, Red Roof Inn, for a pleasant experience!!

The location was ok, but we booked & paid for a two-Queen bed room, and only realized after finding the room, we were given a two-Twin bed room, very small. There were also many gnats of some sort that came out in the evening, the moment we dropped a bit of food to the floor... The pillows were almost tissue paper. It was serviceable and clean enough, just certainly didn't have a AAA experience, nor even technically the beds I'd paid for & reserved...

Hotel room had mouse droppings in the sink and shower. The shower had missing tiles and the water runs from the shower onto the bathroom floor. The beds are uncomfortable and lumpy. You can hear everything in your room not a quiet area. Breakfast was sad… be prepared to have a waffle.

It was exactly what we paid for.. reasonable comfort for inexpensive cost. Certainly didn’t meet the cleanest standards . Great for the low price but personally, I’d rather pay a little more and have comfort and cleanliness.

Plenty of parking and convenient right near room.Decent refrigerator but on the small side. Breakfast terrible. Eggs were dried out. Sausage was burned. Front desk not overly friendly.

What really sets this place apart is the staff. Every interaction has been pleasant, professional, and genuinely welcoming. They go out of their way to be accommodating, and any request or issue I’ve had has been handled quickly and efficiently, which makes traveling for work so much easier. Don’t let the location or surrounding area deter you from giving this place a shot. And to be fair, if you’re looking for a five-star resort with all the bells and whistles, this isn’t that but it’s absolutely well worth the stay. It’s a dependable, comfortable spot that delivers exactly what you need, every single time. I highly recommend it if you’re in the Fredericksburg area.

We stayed with kids and accidentally booked a smoking room (be careful—they push smoking rooms first). The clerks were rude and unhelpful, refusing to assist us in switching rooms and claiming none were available, then shortly after offering another room only if we paid an extra $135. The clerk promised that the next day we would be moved—either to a non-smoking room or at least to a better one—and said they would leave a note for the next clerk so I wouldn’t have to explain everything again. The next morning, when a different clerk checked the note in the system, their expression changed and they immediately said a room was unavailable. When I asked for a manager, I was told no one was there and no one knew when they would return. The room smelled awful—unbearable, and we could barely sleep. The linens were dirty and had cigarette burn marks; I had to request clean ones and change them myself, and they were reluctant to even provide them. The bathroom door didn’t lock (fixed the next day), and the TV didn’t work (replaced the following evening). Yes —they already have customers due to the location near the highway. I truly regret choosing this hotel. I only picked it because I was looking for a pet-friendly place, and that’s what led me to book here. The only positives were the air conditioning and parking.

We were just passing through Fredericksburg on our way home from NC. This property was very basic. It looks like there have been improvements on an older property.. The staff were helpful. Check in was easy. The tv didn’t work at first and he helped. Breakfast was very basic. The price was lower than some in the area but still the prices seemed pretty high for this one night.

Let me start off by saying I mistakenly booked a smoking room which was on me. I should have been more diligent when reading the room description instead of just focusing on the price. That being said, when the desk manager told me it was a smoking room, naturally I was upset. I’d been driving for 14 hours so I was exhausted and irritated. The manager was very sympathetic to my issue but the rooms were all sold out. It was too late to cancel the room without being charged and when I called Expedia as he suggested, I was advised it was the hotel’s choice not to charge me. He never mentioned that. That was strike one. The room was absolutely disgusting smelling. The price was way too high for the state of the room. Strike two. And the guests in the adjoining room were super loud along with their television. I could hear every word of their conversation without even wanting to. I called the front desk and nothing was done about it which is bad because it was well after 11:00 pm. I couldn’t sleep all night. My grandson woke up with a sore throat and stuffy nose just from the amount of cigarette stench. And that, folks, is strike three. I will not be re-visiting this establishment.

Always stay here on our way to and back from South Carolina property is well maintained rooms are excellent. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Was not very happy with location of room was right next door to a dog barking late at night and loud talking till late in the night got woken up at 12:30AM always had an excellent time spent using this hotel and will continue next time hopefully not next door to dog barking and a little too loud of people and TV right next door.

Appearance from road.

Shower didn’t have very much pressure. Bathroom door wouldn’t shut properly. It is catching on the top corner. You have to pull on the door towards the hinge to get it closed. You can see where someone has chipped away on the corner trying a cob job repair. Room 228.

Parking lot had a lot of lighting about made it hard to sleep. Looks like they’re upgrading the rooms

Friendly staff. Room was clean. The motel was a bit difficult to find, and a bit hard to get to it depending on the direction you're coming from. Breakfast was good. The exterior was clean. Despite appearing to be in a bad part of town, it's tucked away and did not feel unsafe at the property. It was not worth the price I paid, so because of the price, I have dropped the rating by a star but still a solid stay in Fredericksburg.

I was told the breakfast was until 10am- which is customary, but it ended at 9am. The coffee was bad, they only had crappy powder creamer. The towels were not clean enough. Netflix didn’t work. The shower was not working properly, you couldn’t fill the tub.

This turned out to be a surprisingly nice stay. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very good and abundant, and there were hot items as well as cold one. I arrived late at night and the person at the reception was welcoming.

They use a room deodorizer that wasn’t pleasant at all. The room was needed a good cleaning. Dirt in the corners and behind the bathroom door.

Passing through for value Nothing we can’t complain because we paid for what we got. Simple.

Excellent location off I-95. Don’t let the look of the dated building scare you when you arrive. Our room/bathroom was all updated. Pet fee was very reasonable, first pet free, additional pet $15. Also great space to walk your pet in the back of the building w poop bags and grass area. Also noticed a bbq grill and picnic table there as well. Room was very clean. Plenty of towels etc. no carpet on floor, vinyl plank flooring - which I prefer. Breakfast was very good-Real over medium eggs, pancakes, sausage, bread, rolls, bagels, cereal, fruit, yogurt, muffins, coffee cake, coffee, tea, orange juice, apple juice. We will definitely stay here again. Nothing. Perfect for staying while traveling to or from vacation destination.

Not their fault but the way to get there is very complicated because of the divided highway. Maybe some better entrance signage because if you miss it you have to do the whole thing over again.

This is a basic hotel. Rooms are clean. Staff is accommodating. Breakfast was helpful for kids. The area felt a little sketchy (police driving through parking lot), the queen bed seemed more like full size and was not comfortable. Buildings age is apparent.

The room smelled bad upon entering and there were bugs in the shower. The beds were clean and the breakfast was good just the initial bad smell and having to clean the tub before a shower was not pleasant.

It nice, no roaches, or bed bugs. It’s quite around. Rooms are comfy. Only thing was they did not have hand soap filled in the dispenser. Other than that they had my fav channels like Comedy Central. Beds are comfy and so is the pillows. Ac and heart worked great.

I travel for work and this Red Roof Inn is by far one of the best I’ve stayed at. From the property it self (clean and quiet), to the employees (always pleasant and welcoming)… it’s a great little gem to stay at for sure!

Property is very old. It has been painted and updated inside and was clean. But it was in an area that I felt very unsafe. Room smelled bad .the worst was the banging and chairs scraping . We were on the first floor and the constant banging and noise above us kept us up very late..

Nice staff and clean rooms

This property is so much better than it was a year or so ago when I last stayed here. During the last time I had made myself promise that I would never stay again. I forgot exactly where I was when I made the reservation for this visit and was so extremely surprised at how much better The entire place was. It is not in the easiest place to get to off of the main highway, but once you are checked in and in the room, it is clean. It is neat. It is very nice.

I was very pleased with my stay here. The room was very clean and the staff was pleasant. I was able to bring my dog as it is a dog friendly hotel. There a nice area behind the hotel where you can walk your dog with doggie bags and trash bin included. Unfortunately, some of the guests do not pick up after their dogs which is ashame.

It was clean and a shower. Nothing fancy and the mattress definitely needs replaced soon, but again it was clean.

He asked me multiple times if I smoked after telling him no. Only to put me in a room that reeked of cigarettes

Great place with a fair price

Convenient to Rt 95 and Rt 17. Rooms are reasonable rates. Friendly staff. No breakfast but 24hr coffee in lobby. No work center. Has nice area in back for dogs and a couple of picnic tables. Easy drive to most chain restaurants and only minutes from downtown Fredericksburg.

Great stay at a great price. My only complaint is the flat pillows and it is advertised as having rv parking however it doesnt. The rv parking is just park behind everyone else.

24 hr coffee in lobby. No breakfast buffet but plenty of places within monutes to eat. Convenient to two highways. No frills but solid place for a night or two. Staff are friendly and eager to help.

Good service and clean room.

Hotel was clean and as advertised. It was perfect for or stay, clean and cheap. You get what you pay for, no frills, we were literally there to sleep for about 5 hours. We felt it was clean and safe. We were traveling with a dog and there was a nice grassy area in the back. They offer coffee and juice in the area near the office in the morning.

Exactly what we expected. Clean and quiet. Only complaint is its awkward to get to when travelling in one direction due to the highway barrier.

I loved the affordability of this property. I also loved how clean it was. However, the facility sits very close to a busy road/intersection. For many, I imagine, that is comforting sounds of home. Not so much for me. Emergency services, racing motorcycles, and others were a bridge to far that affordability cannot overcome.

Driveway was difficult to find

Additionally, in the morning the cleaning crew was rolling their cart back and forth in front of the rooms very early, about 730 AM. When I was packing to leave, around 930, you could see the cleaning crew waiting outside my room, about 5 feet away, talking loudly and just waiting for us to leave so they could clean. It was very obvious that they were being loud so that we would wake up and leave so they could clean and get on with their day. It was incredibly rude.

Right off route 33 and quiet with convenient parking

Room was mostly clean. Service was ok. The guy could be a little more friendly. Bed not so conformable. Very noice neighbors fought all night. Alot of yelling. Room was $80 on here till i pull in the parking lot and jumped to $105. Its a ok place but not a $105 place to stay.

Noisy family next door child cried and the family yelled half the night. Reported noise to the hotel nothing happened. Crying started again early in the morning a complete hell of a stay

The bed slept well however there was a constant police presence at the hotel throughout the night. I was driving a new car back from New York and felt compelled to sleep with the blinds halfway open so I could keep the car in sight throughout the night

Great value for the price. Always worried with what you get with a Red Roof Inn but we were pleasantly surprised. Room was cleaned and as promised. Price was great considering we travel with our cat and didn’t have to pay extra. Other places to stay charge $25 to $75 per stay for our pet so this was a huge savings.

Very congested area

An ok place for the price. It is located sort of down in a hole, so not the easiest to get in and out. Fairly clean and decently of comfortable.

So so so bad

Upon arrival There were 5 dead bugs in the corner on the floor dirty, wet, used washcloths in the bathroom hanging up stains on bedsheets the walls are paper thin you can hear EVERYTHING! There are bugs in the light above the bathroom It smells very musty and moldy the whole place overall is disgusting the service is terrible worst experience ever

The bed was exteemely hard with paper thin pillows. One of the hand towels looked like somebody stepped on it and hung it up anyway. U can hear every word from your neighbors through the wall!

only thing is not every room has a microwave(but they have 2 downstairs by the vending machines) and i noticed my room the door wasn’t properly sealed completely but the privacy lock ( i’ve never seen before it’s nice actually) helps that worry a lot! it was a nice stay and would stay again

Great price. Comfy bed. Staff was friendly. The motel is right next to a busy intersection where a lot of semis drive by and make quite a racket. Not really the fault of the motel and they do provide air plugs ! If the AC is on or you put the fan on it drowns out the traffic noise. Totally worth it for the low price.
