The Kenmore Inn is a beautiful, historic property located in the heart of downtown Fredericksburg, offering a charming and comfortable stay. Guests consistently praise the friendly and accommodating staff, delicious breakfast, and convenient location close to shops, restaurants, and historic sites. However, some guests note that the bathrooms are small and outdated, and there have been a few issues with air conditioning and parking.

The bourbon room is great. Accommodations were wonderful.

Everything at Ironclad was pure perfection. The staff were professional, yet very friendly and accommodating. The house was beautifully decorated to portray its history but was very comfy on all accounts and felt like home. The bonus was the bourbon room where we enjoyed a very relaxing evening. We will make it a point to return.

The staff and the quality excellent Breakfast in a quiet colonial settings was superb.

The Ironclad Inn was a welcome respite on a long drive while relocating. The beds were very comfortable, linens were beautiful, and the Inn itself was gorgeous and very well maintained. There are many restaurants and shops within walking distance, and the neighborhood is very quiet and quaint. The best part was that knowing that we had an early start and would miss breakfast, Sarah prepared smoothie bowls with fresh fruit and granola for us to take with us. A lovely gesture and much apreciated!

The bourbon bar was disappointing....no one waited on us (even though we were told to sit anywhere and that someone would take our order) and bartender seemed a bit overwhelmed so we left without getting any drinks. That is the only reason I didn't give 5 stars on everything. Would definitely stay there again on our next visit to Fredericksburg.♥️

We have always stayed at the Kenmore Inn, which was recently purchased by new owners.. Now it’s the Ironclad! Some nice new updates were made, and it’s still one of our favorite places to stay in Fredericksburg.. nice to park and just walk everywhere. The breakfast was very tasty too! We will definitely stay here again….

A lovely gem in the Historic District of Fredericksburg. Beautiful and charming. Very cozy and welcoming. Lovely bedroom. Bath is small but, functional. Lovely dining room. I loved the 5 minute walk to all of the restaurants and shops. I will visit again and again.

There was also a problem with the keypad that didn’t accept the code I was given. There was no one there after 6pm to help.

Choices..attentive staff .Part of the price.

The included breakfast was delicious and the staff member there was friendly and helpful. Parking is the biggest negative. It is street parking, first come first serve.

Excellent property in a perfect location to walk to most of the historic sites and local businesses. It is clean, the staff is friendly and efficient, and the food service is great. A wonderful stay.

This was a perfect place to stay for the weekend while I was in town. The room was so cute, and the staff was so nice. The chef's breakfast every morning was a nice addition. Would definitely stay here again and will share this place with all my friends and family if they need a place!

Would be nice to have real, fresh coffee(not keruig) available for early risers available at 7 or 7:30

We had a fabulous stay here. The inn had tons of character. the room was very comfortable. We were centrally located so we could walk to all of the sites we wanted to see.
- 5/5
I would definitely stay at this property again. It was conveniently located down in old town of Fredericksburg. Property has an interesting history, is well maintain and the staff extremely friendly.
- 5/5
This was a last minute stop on our trip and wish we had more time. The Inn was delightful full of early American charm and character. The rooms were comfortable and beautifully decorated with hints of early American Colonial flair. The staff called because we were getting in late to assure us of how to access the Inn. They included a delicious breakfast with 4 choices. My only regret was arriving too late to enjoy the Bourbon bar in the basement which had a friendly, warm group of people who at closing recommended a delightful restaurant up the street as their kitchen was closed. I strongly recommend The Ironclad Inn and Bourbon Bar. Only negative which was not the fault of the Innkeepers was the loud and rude guests in the next room.

The bed was quite comfy. And the bedding was TOP NOTCH. One suggestion: An ambient night light or sensor would help guide sleepy people to the toilet without needing to turn a light on.

Liked the quaintness of it and the downstairs bourbon bar is cozy and charming. The room was a little musty and carpet could stand to be cleaned. And the landscaping was once I'm sure lovely but now needs attention. Be aware there are stairs in the property to get to your room, so getting luggage up the stairs can be a challenge. Breakfast selection was small but nicely done.

We had a wonderful stay at the Ironclad Inn! Check in was super easy and we were warmly greeted by one of the innkeepers. The location was perfect and so convenient to walk to shops and restaurants downtown. The Bourbon Room is right downstairs and a great spot to grab a drink or a bite to eat

Historic charm and great location to visit the old downtown Fredericksburg. The highlight was the Bourbon Bar. In our 3 night stay, we decided we didn't need the room services as we didn't use the towels. We put out the "clean my room" tag the other two nights and never got the room clean and used the same towels for 3 days. The ash tray outside was loaded with cigar/cigarette buds and should be cleaned daily. Great charm but really horrible bathroom. Charm is one thing worn out is another. THe restaurant was good, not great.

Quaint inn in a great town. Room had a funny smell (sort of musty or covered up with some scent?) and the bathroom was dated but functional, in keeping with this type of property. Pillows were unusually high and firm. Breakfast was sensational (awesome chef) and the people were very friendly. Unfortunately the restaurant and bourbon bar were closed the night we were there (open Wed to Sat I believe).

The breakfast was truly AMAZING—delicious, plentiful, and beautifully presented. It really set the tone for the day and was a highlight of our visit. There are just a few small suggestions that could make this gem even better: – The room to the right when you first walk in had a few cobwebs in the window—nothing major, but a quick tidy-up would make it feel even more polished. – The room and bathroom are on the smaller side, but still very charming. The vintage-style light fixture in the bathroom is lovely, though a brighter bulb would be helpful for makeup application. – It would also be great to have a shelf or a small table in the bathroom for toiletries and a place to put clean clothes when showering. – A towel rack outside the tub would be handy, and the water pressure could be a little stronger. The Bourbon Tasting room downstairs was fabulous! Would highly recommend for drinks, food, service & atmosphere. Fantastic! Overall, it was a delightful stay and we’d absolutely return!

Our stay at Ironclad was great! From our first interaction in the Inn to our last everything exceeded our expectations. The staff is friendly and accommodating, the rooms are spacious and private. The Inn is really somewhere between a B&B and a hotel. The bourbon room downstairs is such a wonderful time and the cocktails are fantastic. The breakfast is also delicious and the service far exceeded a standard B&B breakfast. We loved our short stay here and will be back.

This was my first time there. Just off a vibrant area with great restaurants it was super convenient. The room was very nice. The bathroom was small but that is to be expected in a building this old. Sharon and Meg were great hosts. The breakfast was awesome; I had the Avocado toast. I had to take half home.

This beautiful and comfortable bed and breakfast is just a block or two from the Old Town part of Fredericksburg and its many fun restaurants and pubs. Very clean and lovely house, offering a variety of choices for breakfast which was really nice. The Kenmore Inn is about to be renamed the Ironclad so if you see this listed in the future, it is the same place.

The Kenmore Inn is absolutely lovely. It was fresh and clean and comfortable. The staff went above and beyond for me when they learned I would be leaving prior to the start of breakfast service--fixing a "to-go" breakfast for me. The room was nice, bed comfortable. The bathroom is quite tiny, as is to be expected from a property this old. The only issue I had at all was that the water pressure in the shower was so hard it made taking a shower unpleasant. I adjusted the knobs to try to lower the pressure without cutting off the water stream but couldn't find a good balance. Again, I didn't expect modern plumbing in a historic property, but this water pressure was really hard. Regardless, I would absolutely stay again!

Perfect location. We parked our car on the street and were able to walk to wonderful restaurants each night. but the real differentiating factor was Susan the manager. Her friendly manner made us feel immediately at home. She even anticipated our need for things like a fresh ice bucket. I would not stay any place else in Fredericksburg.

This is a lovely inn, perfectly located in the historic district near some great restaurants. I was at a convention where there were many big hotels within walking distance of the meeting, but only 3 miles away was this little gem. We had a perfect win room with comfortable beds and a real sense of history. Hot breakfast was included and was delicious. The Susans made our late arrival easy, and were so responsive to my questions about parking.

The Kenmore Inn is a beautiful bed and breakfast in the downtown historic district of Fredericksburg. Suzanne was a wonderful host. No pressure. Felt like home but back in time. Self parking right across the street and museums and great restaurants within walking distance. Room was beautiful. An absolute must for Revolutionary/Civil War history lovers and very romantic place for couples. Plan to return and spend more time in town. I travel extensively and highly recommend!

As should be expected of a historic building, the bathroom fittings were not exactly those of a five star hotel, but this was more than compensated for by the hotel’s history, charm and location. Almost all the attractions and restaurants in the historic area were a few minutes walk away, and the location was quiet with easy parking. Recommended.

Kenmore Inn is our favorite Fredericksburg accommodation. It could use a little maintenance, such as some touch up needed for trim paint and leaky faucet.

We loved it and will go back again if we are ever in that area again (which we intend to be).

The inn is in the middle of old Fredericksburg. Most things are within walking distance. The porch is inviting for a drink and a cigar before retiring for the night

My wife and I really enjoyed our one night stay at Kenmore Inn. The room was clean and quiet, and breakfast was great. The property itself has charm due to being a historic building. The staff was really nice and courteous.

Fabulous breakfast - made to order. Friendly and helpful staff. A beautiful home with an easy walk to shops and restaurants.

great place but a few things would have made our stay much more comfortable: one additional chair in the bedroom, a larger or different shape shower, a vanity or shelf over sink to set toiletries on, cable tv, and more outlets for phones, watch, hearing aids, CPAP machine etc.

This is our third year staying at Kenmore and we absolutely love it. We will be back again in October.

Charming historic property with beautiful antiques, books, paintings and a comfortable sitting area. The free breakfast was excellent, with omelets cooked to order, great coffee, and a nice fruit dish, with a friendly and helpful server. While obviously older, our room was comfortable and well appointed. The Kuerig in the hall, with coffee and hot chocolate, was a nice touch. It was a lovely stay, and we would be happy to return.

The Kenmore Inn might rustic with some features that can use upgrade, however, the service was top notch. Susan Sherman, the general manager, is a class act! She went above and beyond - providing excellent service.
