Clean, comfortable room, pleasant staff. Parking limited & very busy area

When I first checked in, I couldn't get the lock to work. I finally got in and the room smelled like Marijuana. I had to have my room changed. Every day we had a struggle with the door locks. Had to have keys done multiple times. . Handles on out side of the room door was very loose. Towels looked dirty and stained. I used a towel and when I opened it, it appeared to have makeup on it. I don't wear foundation so I know that it was not from me. I was very grossed out. I hung up the towel to dry. They cleaned my room and next morning I went to take a shower, I grabbed the towel that was rolled up. thinking it was a clean towel and it was the same dirty towel from the day before. Staff was nice, but this is not the Holiday Inn that I am used to.

Had to be moved because the first room smelled like sewage. Man at the desk seemed like he could care less.

Room was clean. It just needs updating. Bed was very comfortable. There was a little bit of a musty smell to the room.

For people sensitive to sound, the rooms are quiet, particularly on floors 4 and 5. The staff was terrific, apologized but could do nothing. The free breakfast was according to formula -- and the breakfast area was clean and refilled as needed. The hotel appears to have one maintenance person who is very busy. which means not available when needed. No complaints about the cleanliness. But this hotel needs improvement.

Bathroom had mold in shower, shower curtain too small for the shower allowing water to go everywhere. The breakfast was disgusing; there was water in the bottom of the pan with the eggs, meats were gross. Will never stay at any of these properties going forward!!

Convenient to the highway. Biggest issue was the walls being very thin, could hear everything from a few rooms. Ac was noisy but that seems like a common issue.

There was only one person that I came across that wasn’t all that friendly. The liner in the bottom of the tub needed to be replaced, it was peeling up on one end. We had problems getting good signal on the tv. The one major complaint, my daughter and son in law had continuous problems with their key cards. She was unable to use hers the first day. His worked at first, but later he couldn’t get in the room. The 2nd full day, they took their baby and toddler back to the hotel so they could get a good nap. They got up to their 5th floor room, and neither of the keys would work. Both kids were extremely tired, and my son in law has to go all the way back downstairs to get his card reprogrammed. Over two full days, they had to have the keys reprogrammed at least seven times. My husband and I came across another couple on the 3rd floor that also had continuous problems with their keys. I had also contacted the hotel after making reservations requesting that the two rooms at least be on the same floor. One ended up being on the 3rd floor. The other on the fifth. It also sucks that for a big hotel like that, parking is very limited. On the bright side, the hotel is very clean, well maintained, and the staff, from the cleaning staff to the front desk, were very friendly.

The room was very damp & humid. Staff was really nice. Breakfast was good, plenty of variety. Everything clean.

Room was large, comfortable and clean. Area is very noisy. This was a pit stop on a long trip. First stop there was a coffee pot in our room. Second stop no coffee pot and no facial tissue in the bathroom. I asked for the tissues but never got them. Hotel personnel not particularly friendly. Overall I still would recommend the hotel for a pit stop on a road trip.

Front desk staff made an error and assigned me keys to the wrong room, and I walked into someone else's room with someone else's belongings. There were no available towels for the pool and only 2 towels were provided per 4 person room. We were told no other towels were available.

Mattress and bedding was very comfortable. Stains on couch and carpet. Bedside table had a greasy residue. Hand soap dispenser was pulling out of wall. When we arrived house keeper was mopping lobby and dining room, and the smell of the sour mop was super strong. Breakfast room had messy tables in the morning-it was a very busy weekend.

Biggest negative was the battery dying on my doorlock and getting trapped outside my room for almost 90 minutes. The staff did what they could to get me back into my room, but I spent 90 minutes locked out with medicated ointment gooped over my eyes.

The wrong microwave wasn’t working. The lights was out. We had to switch rooms horrible service. Microwave was broke, but the manager was really nice and helpful.

I was a little disappointed that housekeeping never came into our room. We had to ask for fresh towels, empty our own trash and then find our own trash bags, ran out of toilet paper and had to take it off the maid carts because the carts were abandoned

It was a good room but there was lots of trouble unlocking the door. Either the key or the lock itself had issues because it took 2 mins. to unlock the door when it should only take a few seconds. It's one thing I would suggest updating. Otherwise the room was great aside from the tv not working. Great lighting in the room and in the bathroom.

Our stay was OK. It's a hotel intended for tourists that are out for the day. It is a little behind on maintenance. One of the elevators was out the whole time we were there and door key card access didn't work at some doors, for example.

The bathroom lighted mirror was not working and I made the staff aware. Otherwise, all was fine.

The pool area was nice Parking was HORRIBLE. I had to park in a dark sketchy parking lot as all the spaces were taken. The deadbolt on the door did not work- was told they had no available rooms but to utilize the top lock as the doors automatically lock anyways. Elevator was broken all weekend- had to wait 3-5 minutes anytime we used the elevator or take the steps from the 5th floor with 2 young kids.

Rooms were clean. Much prefer a walk-in shower to the tub/shower combo. Overall was okay.

I tried calling them 4 times, left 2 messages for the manager, spoke to front desk twice, spoke to reservations team and no one could help me and no one returned any of my phone calls. Very disappointing. Zero communication

Unfortunately, the first room 310 assigned on February 21 had no heat and the young lady at the front desk came to check it out because she said she was the only one there. No housekeeping or engineer. She came and confirmed and assigned us to Room 316. Heat not much better. The next morning, no hot water for shower. Oh my God, I said that cannot be real. This made the stay extremely uncomfortable, especially given the cold weather. I reported the issue, but it was not resolved, and I was not offered an alternative solution. A lack of basic necessities such as heat and hot water is unacceptable for any guest, and it In significantly impacted my experience. I respectfully request that you review this matter and provide an appropriate resolution, whether in the form of a refund. I have also disputed the transaction with my credit card company. I do not wish any other form of compensation as my husband and I are in our 70s and he is blind. It was horrific. I have disputed my credit card charge based on your services. Never

I did not eat breakfast, but the location was perfect. I was visiting a friend who lives close by. parking is very crowded and I was towing a trailer. I did not realize until I was leaving that there was parking where I could have parked my trailer while I was there.

I tried to tough through and just go to sleep but eventually my eyes were burning and I had a headache and I determined this wasn’t going to work. I decided to just leave after only being checked in for 2 hours. They said they couldn’t refund me. Not great but not a real big deal. Either way recommend just going elsewhere on the chance you get a room in this part of the building. No refund is really the problem. Room was unable to just be slept in.

Our room had many problems, the tv kept going off the phone to front desk didn’t work and worst of all there was a loud banging from pipes. They were very nice and switched our room and everything was good in the room on the top floor.

I would stay here each and every time I visit Fredericksburg. Everyone was SO kind. They made fresh cookies everyday. They were courteous and everything was clean. The pool was heated and clean. I have zero complaints!

There was no hot water and the owners are aware that they need to fix the plumbing. No compensation was given. We we continually lied to and were late to my grandmother’s funeral because we did not have hot water to showe.

When I showed up to get my next two nights, they had canceled my reservation and they kept my money and would not give me a room. If Hotels.com does not make this right then I’m going to cancel my account with you. I paid for the room for three nights, and whether I slept there the first night or not is there irrelevant. You can’t have it both ways. You can’t both keep my money in at the same time not give me my room. It’s one or the other. But not both. I’m very angry and I’m very dissatisfied with my service from Hotels.com. You have the ability to go to fight for me and to force that hotel to refund my last two nights or to give me my room and you’re not doing that. It is totally unacceptable.

It was clean, the staff were nice and explained everything clearly. there was no problem with the hot water. I only found issue with the way the hotel was situated it was a little difficult to get to.

We’d go to the front desk, they’d give us a new one, we’d head back to the room and some of the times we’d head back down 1 or even 2 more times to get another new key which is just ridiculous. Something is wrong with the system. They tried to tell us it was our phone demagnetizing the key, but I can assure you we kept them separate after and it still didn’t work. On our way out, the host basically said they probably need to replace the battery in the key card readers and I’m thinking that should be something their quality team looks as right? It was a true pain. Also, one room had a shower curtain ripped, another a light flickered when it was plugged in, the AC doesn’t work in many rooms, and a suite is not worth the money as it really adds little to no extra space for a significant upcharge. The bearded monkey being next door was about the best part of our stay!

We selected a room with a king bed and fold out sofa for our twin 10 year olds. The number of guests and their ages were listed in the reservation We arrived at roughly 10:00PM and were given our keys. After a 8 hour drive we were tired and ready to shower and get to bed. After arriving in the room the following issues were found: In attempting to call for service and additional items the telephone did not work, no sheets, blankets, or towels for the two sleeping in the sofa bed, toilet paper holder was broken and rolls of toilet paper were on the floor. I had to return to the lobby to get the bedding for the sofa bed and additional towels at 10:50 at night in my pajamas. I told the manager at checkout that I would be filling a claim with Hotels.com along with a partial refund…. we shall see what happens…

We selected a room with a king bed and fold out sofa for our twin 10 year olds. The number of guests and their ages were listed in the reservation We arrived at roughly 10:00PM and were given our keys. After a 8 hour drive we were tired and ready to shower and get to bed. After arriving in the room the following issues were found: In attempting to call for service and additional items the telephone did not work, no sheets, blankets, or towels for the two sleeping in the sofa bed, toilet paper holder was broken and rolls of toilet paper were on the floor. Holiday Inn Express is always a great stay, but my favorite part is always their signature cinnamon rolls!

Great staff, very accommodating for handicapped people

We had a handicapped suite. We liked that the sitting area was separate from bedroom. The bathroom was great, beds were comfortable. The sofa was low and my husband had to help me get up but it was comfortable to sit on. We couldn't get either of the 2 tvs to work. They would come on but it was like it had the wrong remote. Breakfast was ok.

They need to put non slip strips in the shower and a grab bar

Arrived to empty desk. 15 minute wait to check in. Very noisy. Signage is terrible for entry. You can see the hotel, just can’t get to it. Parking is very limited. Breakfast starts at 6:30 which is too late for early morning travelers. Disappointing stay for sure.

Property is in a great location and clean. Unfortunately this trip we had a drunk fest in the room next door that went on from midnight til 3:30 am waking the whole floor up with the yelling, cackling, and rough housing.

It felt very un-safe with many homeless people camped near the entrance. The outside exits were not usable per the front desk (only the front entrance was available). The outside was unclean.

I stayed in this hotel one night on a pass through to go visit my daughter. The check in was easy. They have nice carts to help with luggage. The room was spacious. The bed comfortable. Overall pretty clean. The a/c worked nicely. My only complaints were the shower curtain had holes. The remote control was horrible I could not change volume level. The worst part was the surroundings. The hotel is a pain to get to because it's behind buildings and the GPS doesn't understand that. The area is congested and at the portion of the hotel that faces the main road The parking lot was filled with trash and shopping carts filled with trash and weeds. It was dirty and it was not a pleasant environment. Other than that everything else was fine

At 11:30 PM the fire alarm was going on and then off a minute later. There were no announcements. We decided to go to the lobby and found people waiting around inside and outside the building and a fireman looking at the alwarm system. No staff said anything to us.

This day was good. It was the first stop of a week away.

This was a nice hotel. Our room had to be changed due to a faulty outlet, but the front desk staff was very nice and we were moved in minutes. It was clean, fairly priced, and the included breakfast was a great perk.

This was a one night stop conveniently located off the highway. Beds were comfortable, room was spacious enough, and complimentary breakfast had hot and protein options. I requested firm pillows which I can't confirm they actually gave us. And there was an adjoining room from which you could hear a crying child, but it was minimal. Overall, would stay again and recommend.

Check in took way too long bc no one was at the front desk when we arrived. We waited 10-15 minutes to check in. Gave us 2 keys, only 1 worked some of the time. Pull out bed had no bedding provided so we had to go down to get it. Bed was ok. Breakfast was decent. Room was clean. Stay was not worth the $$ paid.

The property backed up to a major interstate. Rite 95. I was in a room just yards away from the road. Did not sleep and had an 8 hour drive the next day. It was horrible.

We had a problem with the phone. When someone came we had the safety latch on and the maintenance person thought it was an issue with the lock so without knocking he tried opening the door. Breakfast was good. Had omelets and a pancake maker

What I didn't like was this is the second time that while I was in the shower I ran out of Shower Gel from the Hotel Dispenser in the Shower. This happened last time too and they don't leave an extra roll of toilet paper

Great night of sleep and clean. Only negative was parking was limited, but the check in gentleman did help me find a spot. He was very kind and helpful. And the bathroom really needs a new shower curtain that stays so that the water from the floor doesn’t end up all over the floor.

It was very clean and staff was friendly and attentive. Our door lock didn’t work but we were only staying overnight and had two adjoining rooms so we could enter from the other door otherwise that would have been a problem. They offered to fix it but we said wait till we check out in the morning

Parking is terrible! Not happy after a long drive to have to park far away in a sketchy bar parking lot with a bunch of patrons hanging out smoking outside the door to avoid being towed. Also the a/c unit was very loud and made a horrible rattling noise:(
