The staff was excellent, everything was wonderful on our stay, provided a wheelchair for me after getting 2nd degree burns on feet from beach, very thankful for all their concern , will stay their again if I come back to that area. Thank you

Staff that did the check in was super friendly. The room was confortable. The breakfast had several options and coffee was good. There were a couple of roaches inside the room, the decor was a little outdated.

The room was clean but you should consider removing the carpet and replace with flooring. It just seems to be cleaner without carpet.

I was very pleased with my stay at this hotel. Everyone was very attentive and very informative. Daniela at the front desk had a few recommendations on things to do around here and she nailed it. Breakfast was superb! Decoration, cleanliness , personnel , freshness and flavor was very good. Hotel was also in a very convenient location close to things at Ft Myers as well as close to the island.

My family and I had a great stay. Property is very clean and well kept, rooms are spacious, Breakfast included and only 15-20 minutes from the beach. We will definitely be back!

I can highly recommend this Residence Inn on Summerlin, Ft Myers/Sanibel Gateway.

Amazingly friendly staff its my birthday weekend and they told me numerous times happy birthday and sent up a gift bag with a very nice card and some snacks and adult beverage. I was amazed by how nice and caring the front desk staff was. She remembered my face and was super friendly and happy. Was a great all around stay will definitely recommend and be back.

The location is the best for this hotel. It's really close to the sanibel island bridge and you can get to lighthouse beach in less than 20 mins. You also have a publix right up front walking distance that you can use to restock your beach supplies or even buy anything for the room. You also have in the same plaza some food restaurants like chinese food and a sport bar names gator bites. You also have other classic restaurants a few minutes away in car like Wendy's, taco bell, McDonald's etc etc. The hotel itself was just Ok. The room was clean but there was a used soap in the bathroom but the remaining of the room was great. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good but if you have dietary restrictions it may be a bit difficult there is almost no gluten free options and very limited daisy free options as well. They do have scramble eggs and some sausage and fruit. Some of the rooms do have a fully stocked kitchen so you may be able to keep some backs ups there. Parking is payed separately about 5$ per night. Overall for price, location and amenities in the room it was a good price per night.

I really enjoyed our stay at the residence Inn. The staff were very nice and I enjoyed the free continental breakfast. I loved that the kitchen in the room had everything we needed. The pool was nice and the gym has a decent amount of equipment. It was great that they provided gallon bags at the icemaker. Although the room is not brand new and some areas could’ve been cleaned better. I was very happy with our stay.

Great breakfast variety which was nice given the length of stay. Rooms are clean enough but dated. Ice maker broken but hubby was handy and able to repair, along with toilet that wouldn’t flush. Dishwasher leaks all over floor when used. Laundry machines require coins for operation. This is an opportunity to improve the guest experience. . Housekeeping staff rude-any simple request such as for towels was met with a scowl and frustration. Front desk and breakfast staff always welcoming and personable. Really enjoyed the balcony-how great it would be to have this option in a king suite. I will say the air conditioner was incredibly loud-taking away from the enjoyment. Also many guests smoke on the balcony and the stench of both marijuana and cigarettes is disgusting not only on the balcony but the air handling system draws it into the room. Also-we noticed that there were persons entering the wooded area adjacent to the hotel regularly both on foot and on bikes. Also observed these persons bathing with the garden hose on the side of the gas station next door. It does appear that there are unhoused persons living in the woods. Whoever didn’t have any issues it ls helpful to be aware. Proximity of hotel to local beaches is definite plus. Suite was spacious and given location at end of hall quiet. Overall a good stay-with some updates the property has a lot of potential..

Breakfast bar was great. Pool area was nice and open until 10pm. We only went down in the evenings, but area was usually quiet. Location is just minutes from Fort Myers Beach and Sanibel Island

Great place to stay, close to Sanibel and Fort Myers without the price tag. Room was great with separate bedroom area, kitchen with full size fridge freezer and balcony. The best part was breakfast, the ladies who looked after breakfast are excellent, brought freshly baked cookies out each morning and took them round table to table. So much choice, scrambled eggs AND feta/spinach omelettes, sausage, all types of cereal and granola, waffles, muffins, scones, fresh fruit yogurt and more! The coffee was divine too...so hot and fresh. We will definitely start again!!!

The hotel was prettier than I expected. Warm welcome, warm cookies, warm smile. The check in process was a breeze. We had our suite ready, and it was great! 2 queen beds, small kitchen, eating area, living room, and balcony. All were top notch. The beds were sooo comfortable. The staff was very helpful, pleasant, and very accommodating. The buffet breakfast was amazing. Fresh made waffles, eggs, sausage, etc., everything you could want in a breakfast. I was here for a girl's weekend and we had a great time. Thank you to all the staff for a very pleasant stay. We will be back!!

Insisted that I need to run my card AGAIN for incidentals. Which I couldn’t do because she charged my card x2 for $300 I paid $300 for the room so I didn’t have that available. Im a stroke survivor and my sons autistic and i requested a room on a low floor or close to an elevator. #527 (may be off the last 2 numbers) was absolutely none of that so getting access to the pool area or outside was such a long walk. I have physical and mental deficits from the strokes so this was too much on my body and a relaxing night away started off and ended not great. I wish my experience was different. Ive stayed at many Marriott’s over the years and this by far was the most disappointing. I just wanted a night away to swim with my son and boyfriend to relax.

Although we stayed only for one night (the ending our trip ) we enjoyed the property and kindness of the staff. Good breakfast, hallways and room smell good , everything clean. From now on it will be place to stay for our vacations

Enjoyed our stay in particular we enjoyed the heated pool

The staff were great and assisted my 6 year old and I to check in quite a few hours early due to an early flight. So thankful! The pool was so warm and inviting!

that they cannot afford to get wrong. The main reason guests book a hotel is for sleep purposes. When it is clearly stated on the reservation that a sofa bed was reserved, it is crucial to get it right...period. if this is an issue between Expedia and the hotel (Marriott), the guest should not have the burden to prove who dropped the ball. Other than this cricial issue, our stay was pleasant.

I was disappointed when the room I reserved was not available. The next day I got the room I reserved. It was inconvenient to have to move all our things to another room . The hotel is nicely decorated & maintained in good condition.

This is the second time staying at this hotel. Nice hotel for families. However, this time there were children in the pool without an adult present several days. These children also ran up and down the hallway late at night and we had a very young toddler with us. Lots of noise.

The breakfast was good, mostly the same everyday with small changes. Sometimes they brought out warm cookies near the end of breakfast. Hot tub did not work our entire stay and guests there before us said it hadnt worked their entire stay either. I chose this hotel over others because of the hot tub so I wasnt happy about this. Pool was good, warm. Kids enjoyed it. My kids loved using the basketball court next to the pool. Other kids would come down and play with them too. Fitness room equipment didnt seem well maintained. Displays on treadmills didnt work. Room clean and good size for family of 5. Large fridge was appreciated too. I found the mattress uncomfortable and didnt sleep well. Hotel located in good area with a Publix and 7-Eleven right next to it, among other stores. Very close to Sanibel Island. Overall would likely stay again.

The housekeeping at this location would make me not want to stay again. We paid over $1600 for 6 nights, so I'd expect housekeeping to be up to par. They never once made the beds, didn't restock toilet paper in one of the bathrooms, would replace towels with new ones each time but left the dirty ones the entire week, conditioner bottle was empty the entire stay ect. The towels and bedding were also overkilled with bleach. Aside from the housekeeping problems, the staff were friendly and the breakfast had a good selection

We absolutely love staying here. Everytime we visit florida we come to this hotel. They offer everything you need for a family of 6, makes vacationing alot easier for us parents!

Overall, this is a very well managed hotel. Staff takes pride in the hospitality they provide. Everyone wears a smile, no matter how their day may be going personally, from the front end to the maintenance staff. Very clean throughout. Only disappointment during our stay was that the hot tub was actually colder than the main pool. The pool was very warm, however. (Heater on hotub was either off, or broken, for our entire week long stay) The only two other things we could think of, that could improve this hotel experience for a variety of people's needs, would be to designate two rooms of each type, on each floor, as non-pet friendly, for the guests who require such an accomodation. (The entire hotel is pet friendly) Secondly, install a few more ice machines. Theres only one ice machine available for all 6 floors, is an elevator ride down to lobby, then a long walk back past the gym, then past the meeting room, then past the pool, to the guest laundry, where the only ice machine resides. Will give a nice nod however, to the dispenser with two sizes of ziplock bags above the ice machine. Nice touch. Also need to hang a net behind the basketball hoop, to keep all the balls available from going down into the wetland jungle behind the basket where nobody wants to go retrieve them from. Nice grill area, and firepit with ample seating around it. Publix market is right next door. Will definitely be returning to this hotel in future.

Blondish middle age Hispanic woman fabulous. Breakfast tater tots potatoes hard all 3 days, stale. No cranberry juice anymore? Ice water no longer fruit infused? Meat - sausage, sausage vegetables and turkey… no bacon any of our 3 days. The staff in breakfast were good. As mentioned, one was fss as fabulous.

Common areas of hotel were clean. Fitness center was clean but displays didn’t work on the treadmills. Pool was nice but a lot of ants. we had a 2 bedroom suite which smelled like damp mildew. there was food in the dishwasher and hair and mold in the shower. carpet is filthy and turns your socks black. maybe it was just our room because we booked through 3rd party. also they charge 5 per day per car for parking and i don’t think this was listed at the time i booked. the 2 bedroom/bathroom setup is perfect for sharing but the cleanliness wasn’t there for this room.

The meats served both days for breakfast were awful, tasted like burnt rubber. The original room we were placed in smelled of feces emitting from the drain in the bathroom, smelling the whole suite. The gurgling from the plumbing kept us up all night and in the morning, we requested to switch rooms.

Parking is not free, which surprised me due to the big parking space available. The A/C in our suite marked 67, but it was not cold enough. The staff is very attentive and the areas and the room are clean.

Bigger rooms than I expected. Used to staying in small hotel rooms so was a nice change to have some room to move about and a decent kitchen area. Only stayed for 1 night but would be good for long term stays. Very reasonably priced. Would stay again.

The stay was great, my family and I had a great stay at the hotel; the rooms was very clean and spacious the views were very breathtaking, breakfast area was unbelievably beautiful.pool and sitting area were very specious and clean.However for 2 days my trash was not serviced until I called 3 times before a vet nice gentleman was come to do the removal and replacing my dirty towels with some clean ones;overall I’m very pleased with everything else.

Clumps of hair on the shower wall. The other bathroom was out of conditioner. Even after we advised the front desk they never came to fill it. No power on one side of the beds nightstand. Fire alarm went off in the middle of the night.

Only negative was that I received a daily parking charge that I wasn’t aware of. The pool/ spa areas were under repair construction which they made us aware of and will soon be completed.

At check in we requested a room with a balcony and a marsh view which we didn’t get. There was cockroaches in the room and blood on the window curtains. The staff was very friendly and they had a good breakfast.

The bad: Booked a King Bed room, got a 2 Queen. One of the bed lamps not working, neither light nor power socket. The ugly: Thick layer of dust on all light bulbs. Carpet has neither been vacuumed nor steam cleaned in a while. A/C comes on every 20-ish minutes and it's like a jet engine powering up next to you. I have been to motels that had outdated A/C units, but this was by far the noisiest. When lying in bed it blows right into your face. Managed to get 2 hours of sleep - after moving to the sofa bed in the living room.

They have 5 p.m. happy hour with their own made sangria:) Pool was beautiful and clean, hot tub as well. Publix, massage, cigar shop and eating establishments all within walking distance. Parking lot is big and easy to maneuver. Never had any parking issues. The mini store area in the lobby had pretty much anything you may have forgot, and more. They had a very nice clean kept washer dryer area. The breakfast options were phenomenal. Having a diabetic daughter that needs low carb protein options. They have a HOT BREAKFAST every morning with lots of options. Plus all the other options you would expect. Would absolutely return for another stay. Hope I didnt forget anything.

The room was nice and clean. There was two things that was not good in one of the bedrooms it was the king size bed and the tv, the mattress is no good it was caved in, I couldn’t sleep comfortably at all and the tv was messed up also, it had a blue blur on the left side and I couldn’t adjust the lighting to it. But other than that everything else was fine.

The hotel is in a great location, next to Publix supermarket. The room was clean but we stayed 2 days and were not made aware that there would be no maid service for such a short stay. When I inquired at the front desk they said that you can request it. It is not done automatically unless you stay for 3 nights. We stayed for 2 nights. The tv did not work properly but that was because the batteries in the remote were bad. Staff was friendly and the complimentary breakfast was great. I would stay here again given the opportunity. The price was reasonable and the staff was courteous.

Our stay was great! Beautiful property. The service was impeccable. Ivonne the Front Desk Supervisor was amazing as was Alisha the Front Desk clerk. The room was clean and beautiful. Only suggestion was that a trash can under the sink would be great and the coffee in the lobby being monitored better. It was either empty or cold.

We came to visit on family at Shellpoint retirement village. The hotel exceeded our expectations! We have a wonderful visit, everything was spotless. Everyone we encountered was friendly. They also served Sangria every evening. Will definitely be staying here on our next visit!

we spend 5 nights at the facility, despite the fact they promise room cleaning every second day, we had none. i asked every day and never received room cleaning during our stay. the breakfast was lacking of food every morning. the windows are soo dirty we can't see trough them. worst MArriott ever.

The hotel is in the perfect place to get to Sanibel and Captivata - it’s very close to the toll road. The hotel is immaculate and the ladies at the front are super friendly, helpful and go out of their way to make sure everything is perfect. Will definitely stay here each time we visit Sanibel going forward.

Recently remodeled. The breakfast area was very nice and the breakfast was great. We were able to remain in our 2 bedroom suite after my friend left and my husband joined me. Pool area is very nice. Honestly the front desk staff is the best I usve encountered in years. Very knowledgeable and nice doesn't even come close to describing their dispositions. Would highly recommend this hotel.

All the staff was excellent. Since I stayed for seven days, it was great that a Publix store was in the same complex. The Gator's Restaurant was surprisingly good. Everything was very clean. The pool and spa were popular.

Room was like an icebox when I first entered. Once figured out the heat controls, I got it warmed up. Heating and ac unit was VERY noisy.

The housekeeping service was terrible! Although we asked three times, nobody came to clean our room and collect the trash. We ended up using the same towels and cleaning the kitchen, dishes, and utensils for 4 days. Overall, we recommend the hotel but suggest they would improve housekeeping issues.

The staff was amazing with us, but the cleanness wasn't wood, we found hair on the towels and roaches, so it wasn't a good experience for us, we have a 5 years old daughter, so is frustrated when you find that kind of things in your room.

Everything was great , but our a/c went out in the middle of the night our first night. It was reported the next morning. They were not able to fix it but did provide a portable unit. It was ok but with it being a suite with 2 rooms it didn’t really keep the living area cool.

The property and staff was 5 star. The only negative for our stay was the fact that people on our floor were cooking some really nasty smelling food every day. We realize this is always a possibility when you have a kitchenette in the rooms.

The staff were both friendly and customer focused, the hotel was always clean and tidy. I only gave a 4 star rating for condition of facilities as the second lift was out of order for our whole stay, which was a real inconvenience on occasions due to the number of residents.

stayed in room 618. It was perfect for us. Our family was down the hall and more family on another floor. We were all pleased with our accommodations and the comfy beds. The screen door on our balcony was sticky and didn't track well but we lived with it and the view made up for it.

I was allowed to check in early. I like having two bedrooms and two bathrooms. We stayed four nights. It was my understanding that our room would be cleaned every other day. We checked in on a Thursday and I specifically requested a cleaning on Saturday and fresh towels. I even talked to the cleaning person. I thought she understood but she understood and spoke no English. I went to the front desk on Sunday and again requested that our room be cleaned. By mid afternoon it was cleaned but only one of our two bathrooms got clean towels. The breakfasts were amazing! The front desk employees were kind and friendly.

The AC was struggling to work, the room was dirty, dusty, and not clean. I was placed in a room that was not the room I booked, and when I requested a different room I was told the hotel over booked and had to turn away reservations. I would not stay at this location again.

The unit was adequately spaced for my 2 adult sons and me with a large dog. The kitchen was well equipped, again considering what it is. I cook from scratch and was able to do that comfortably. The place is hard to find, but that's not a bad thing in my opinion. The rooms were very quiet even though their vacancy rate was low, and other guests were polite and considerate.

I really enjoyed our 3 nights here. We came during Hurricane Helene and the power went out on the 3rd day. We stayed and the front desk charged our phones, let us sit in the lobby, and gave us glow sticks. The 2 days before the power went out the Breakfast they do was really incredible for a typical Residence Inn. It was also very beautifully maintained inside with lots of plants, attention to detail, and ambiance.

at the check in we were great friendly and direct to our room for our surprise we had been upgraded to a bigger room, ( this might be a chance on slow season or between the week days) and that was nice, the building is new and the area is quite, the breakfast included in the service is great and many options to choose from.

Is a god-awful smell of mold and moisture really needs a dehumidifier in that room

Hotel was very clean and nice. Breakfast was fantastic. Only issue was workers in the parking lot tailgating. Sitting on back of truck drinking

Room was awesome fir the price.

From check in to our room this one day stay was great. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and was promptly taken car of. 5 minutes and we were on our way to our room. The room was fantastic. I only wish we could have stayed longer. Every area was clean. The bed was firm but comfortable. The pool was nice. A lot of guests were using it. I’m sure breakfast will be great also.

Stayed for my husband’s birthday. The hotel gave us a complimentary gift basket which included wine and chocolates, and a complimentary room upgrade. We felt so special. Will definitely stay again. Wonderful staff and clean hotel
