Not a darn thing

The very very best most special boutique hotel to stay at in Ft. Lauderdale . Period. Not a darn thing

location, staff, pool, quiet. very dated , has not been improved for years, bathroom door hanging off on top hinge, sealant around bath and shower screen, need to climb in bath to put plug in the bath, shower/bath control valve hanging out of wall, bathroom tiny.

I’ll first say the staff were profession and helpful. I stayed 5 nights on the ground floor near the pool. The room was not cleaned well. The shower looked and felt dirty. The room just didn’t feel clean. Now, the shower ran out of hot water every night. Two minutes into my shower, it went cold. Turn it off and wait about 2 - 3 mins and hope it gets hot. Room service was too pricey as well as the restaurant, so I have no comment. There was coffee available in the lobby each morning. It would have been nice to have pastries out for the guests, because there is nothing in the area for coffee and a morning pastry. Also, for a $500 a night room, that’s the least they could do. Needless to say, I was very disappointed.

Room large, and staff were very pleasant, which was great, however, the building and room in which we stayed smelled of mould. Almost as if the building was subject to a prior flood. The room was also in a small building two blocks south of the main hotel which advertised to be on the Intercoastal. We felt that the advertising could be better so as to not set false expectations.

My wife and I cannot wait to come back to The Pillars. The room was quiet and comfortable and tastefully decorated. The courtyard/pool area was cozy and the perfect place to sit with a coffee or cocktail and watch the yachts sail by. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location was the perfect distance from the hustle and bustle of the beach strip but very walkable when we wanted to explore.

A really lovely relaxing place - the same team as our last stay - made us very welcome again ! Nice to go back and experience The Pillars again !! Comfy padded covers on the sun beds - wd be a plus !

Great location. Near beach and on the intracoastal. Large well-appointed rooms. Nice decor. Each room had its own outside seating area (table and chairs). Pretty pol and dining g area. Boutique hotel - nice alternative to the high rise chains like the Ritz and W. And lower cost. Free parking.

Liked best - waterfront location There was no breakfast. Two nightcap cocktails cost more than $40.

We loved the entire property. The room was truly elegant, and we especially enjoyed the pool area and the patio that overlooked the inland waterway. We also had the privilege of meeting the owner during check-in and hearing about the history and the renovations made to restore the property to its former glamour.

Our second visit to Fort Lauderdale and second timing staying at The Pillars Hotel. From the friendly staff to the stunning pool area, we can’t fault this hotel or its location. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a quiet spot to stay right by the beach.

The location of this property on the water front is stunning. The hotel also has an excellent restaurant which we dined in several times and would highly recommend. Dislikes; The air conditioning in our room was very loud. Also, on our previous visits the sun beds had cushions on them, these have since been removed due to weather damage, making the beds very uncomfortable. For a SLH hotel I would have expected these to be replaced. Lots of building works happening in area but hopefully it won’t be long before these works are completed.

Small hotel, excellent service and located 200 yds off the main coast road, particularly helpful during spring break, which can be noisy and busy. Private gardens and pool at rear, located on intercoastal, with superb dining facilities by waters edge, which provides wonderful setting. Food excellent Food and drinks are rather expensive, and the room rate is too, but if that’s the price you have to pay for for an excellent experience, then so be it

I stayed at this property numerous times, but this was my first time in the new annex building. I think I enjoyed it even more. Pillars has the best restaurant in all of Lauderdale.

We enjoyed an excellent stay at the Pillars, would recommend for anyone staying in Fort Lauderdale. Note there is a lot of construction around the way so the pool area was quite noisy during the day but that did not bother us too much. Would stay again.

Our room overlooked the very pretty pool area. The room wasn’t large but had everything that we needed and the bed was very comfortable. We had a small table and 2 chairs outside on the shared balcony walkway to sit and relax or read a book. We took breakfast in the hotel for one day of our stay. We sat right by the water with a fantastic view. The breakfast is chosen from an à la carte menu and is freshly prepared. We also ate outside for dinner on one evening and saw the sun setting. The restaurant here is fabulous with guests dining who aren’t staying here, it is that good. For a special treat, it is worth the money.

The only issue I have is the construction of a high rise right in front of the hotel. I wish I knew when I reserved because it really was annoying when trying to relax at the pool.

We stayed in the Birch House which I believe has been recently renovated. The room was beautiful, conveniently located and ver quiet. The staff were wonderful and very accommodating. Highly recommend!

Staff and service was fantastic, food and bar was great, room service for breakfast was excellent, beautiful and private right on the water, the location is also very close to the board walk. My wife and I stayed here one night and after deciding to stay another night in fort Lauderdale we came right back to the Pillars Hotel!

This was the cutest hotel ever. The staff was super sweet and attentive. So close to the beach. My only regret I didn’t stay longer to enjoy the pool and beach. I will definitely book again and relax.

I like this hotel because it is neat and clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. You can walk a few minutes to the beach. The hotel is by the lake and the scenery is beautiful. The best part is the free parking. The only thing is that if the hotel could offer a complimentary breakfast buffet , that would be best and convenient for the guests.

Property is getting a bit dated. Other than that we love the hotel. The staff is fantastic with the manager Carmen G always on top of things, Ali is great at the bar, John the server (alias Joseph) etc. The food is fabulous. Not our first stay and certainly not our last. Highly recommended.

Pool hours were sun rise to sunset, but had to listen and watch the preparations for their evening dinner guests as we were still enjoying the pool at 4:00 pm every day. They then began seating people for meals at 5:00 on the patio. The dinner guests went through the pool area as we attempted to enjoy the pool yet. The staff at the desk could warn their guests at check in that they really preferred paying guests of the hotel to leave the pool because that is what we felt. The dining customers seemed to get priority.

This is a really lovely property in a great location, with excellent service and facilities. Unfortunately, across the road is a huge construction site that works late and starts at 6am and its extremely noisy. Not the fault of the hotel, which us superb but did impact our stay if I'm honest.

This property is a gem in the midst of high rise condos and big hotels. It is a very short walk to the beach, yet situated on the waterway for lovely outdoor dining. The ambiance is quaint and comfortable, and the staff is helpful and very welcoming and kind.

Overall, the hotel was good but I was not happy that housekeeping did not clean our room first before all the other rooms that were vacated. Especially, when I put the sign to clean our room at 9:30am. When we got back at 1:30pm, the room still hasn't been cleaned and I saw housekeeping was cleaning all the other rooms that have been vacated. Very very poor prioritization on which room should be cleaned first considering we were staying in the hotel for 3 days. When I took it up with front desk/reception, no reaction. Thus, not very please about the handling of the situation.

The second night, the loud noise came again after 11pm and I complained again at midnight, but no one was at the front desk. I looked around and was so shocked to find out it was the employees having a party in the back room. After I complained, the noise stopped. The breakfast at this hotel was terrible for the price. We ordered one omlette and the Continental breakfast, which only consisted of a dry bread basket, and the total came out to $68. We will not be returning.

The second night, the loud noise came again after 11pm and I complained again at midnight, but no one was at the front desk. I looked around and was so shocked to find out it was the employees having a party in the back room. After I complained, the noise stopped. The breakfast at this hotel was terrible for the price. We ordered one omlette and the Continental breakfast, which only consisted of a dry bread basket, and the total came out to $68. We will not be returning.

Every staff member was polite, attentive, and professional. The hotel is located in a central beach area but feels like a little oasis away from it all. Bathroom and shower was small, and there is alot of construction going on around The Pillars, but that is out of their control. Special place...highly recommended!

Staff is amazing, the best customer service we encountered, and we travel often. I would definitely come back and would recommend this place to others. Very clean- rooms were cleaned daily, towels changed daily. Restaurant on property is must try - very tasty food and best presentation. Overall awesome experience!

The Pillars is a special place! It has a great location on the intracoastal and a short walk to the ocean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We are especially impressed with the chef and dining experience at the hotel. The food is so fresh and creatively prepared. This was our second visit there to celebrate our anniversary and we’ll definitely return again next year!

The Pillars is truly an amazing gem, and I'm so thankful I found it. I have traveled all over the world, and there is no place that has come close to the level of service from the staff here. They are so incredibly friendly, accommodating, and they go above and beyond to make your stay perfect. The rooms are so nice, beds super comfortable and the property is beautiful and quaint. We had the best time just sitting at the bar, lounging in the pool, eating breakfast on our balcony and sitting next to the ocean on the outdoor patio. It was absolute perfection! We cannot wait to come back.

Wanted to get away for a few quiet days and this was recommended by a colleague. We really enjoyed our stay, the staff were excellent and really couldn’t do enough for you, food and drinks at the hotel were great and it was like a little oasis. Many thanks to Guy and the entire team - we will definitely be going back.

My first time and will repeat my stay again. extremely clean, very quiet, easy access to everything, friendly staff, always asking if we are in need of assistant. 5 stars

The restaurant on the property is five-star quality. The staff is friendly, not just in a hospitable/professional way, but in a warm and caring way. Their kindness and attentiveness elevated my vacation. Nice rooms. Quiet. Temporary construction is going on right now across the street, but that is beyond their control. Doubt if I stay anywhere else if I visit Ft. Lauderdale again.

The Pillars Hotel is quite the gem of a hotel in a sea of soulless towers. The dinner at their dockside restaurant was amazing. They accommodated every desire we had during our stay. Super close to everything desirable in Fort Lauderdale beach. We will definitely only be staying here at all our future visits. Thank you for the great experience and memories.
