Sun Tower Hotel & Suites on the Beach

Such a hidden gem of a hotel! The front desk staff was so friendly! We were allowed to enjoy the amenities before check in time. Very clean rooms with comfortable beds and bedding. Great views and beach. A lovely pool and the attached restaurant had excellent food. I will definitely stay here again!

Couldn't have chosen a better place, I appreciated the spacious suite that easily accommodated all three of us. The staff was incredibly helpful . We will certainly return!

Beautiful property on the beach with comfortable beds. Difficult to reach anyone at reception (multiple phone calls unanswered, email not answered, and often nobody at the desk - only to have the “Chief Engineer” show up on two different occasions and be rude). When I did finally meet the front desk, she was lovely and helpful.

Did not feel welcoming. No internet signal. Surprised by resort fee of $45.00- though it was on the confirmation - and $50.00 per day for parking- did not see that until checking in.

Beautiful boutique style hotel right on the beach! Clean, spacious room with ocean view. Pool was cold and refreshing after a day in the heat. Staff were friendly and having an onsite restaurant was a bonus! We would definitely stay here again.

Right on the beach with great views. Friendly staff, especially comforting for solo travelers like me. Casual restaurant. Nothing fancy but a great deal.

Unfortunately the beach throughout the ENTIRE coast was covered in kelp and seaweed. But still can't wait to return!!

This hotel is out of date and needs quite a bit of updating. The junior king suite has false advertised pictures about what your room will look like. The room sizes are big, and it is directly on the beach. The elevator has no air conditioning. The lobby has a very peculiar smell and with possible animal. While, the staff is friendly.They do not address your issues. In the suite that we stayed in, we had to shower in. Standing water due to either a clog or something but the issue was never addressed and we mentioned it three times to the staff. An email was sent and not replied to. This is disgusting, unsanitary and very inconvenient. We were not offered any type of compensation or moved out of the room.

The staff were very professional and helpful. Our room was clean and well stocked. Our AC worked great. The bed was very comfortable. All the rooms face the beach. This hotel is right on the beach. Parking is available but somewhat limited. The restaurant & bar have a great view of the beach. The food was great and the margaritas were spot on. They are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There are plenty of stores and restaurants nearby. My Wife & I enjoyed our stay very much. We would stay here again.

- It is right on the beach - the lounges and umbrellas are included into the resort fee ($40 per night) - Parking is available (one car per room at $50 per day - expensive, but the parking in this area is expensive) - The beach is very nice, and all rooms are oceanfront and have balconies - There is a restaurant on site - It is in a quieter part of the beach, away from the noise and the business of the public beach - Very convenient drive or uber ride to lots of restaurants, activities, and shopping. - Staff are all very nice - The room is spacious (we had a double queen) Negatives - Particularly, bathrooms could use updating. The bathtub and fixtures were old and the water pressure was not great - It would have been great to have a larger fridge in the room, but we made do with the mini fridge. Overall, excellent stay and would definitely chose this property again as the positives outweighed the negatives

Amazing stay. The room was comfortable and location was spectacular. Make sure you eat at the Sandbar grill, the convenience and view are worth it alone but the food was delicious too. Can’t wait to stay here again in the future.

Everything about Sun Tower was excellent. The staff, room, beds, shower, beach service, and overall atmosphere was fantastic. Falling asleep to the sound of the ocean waves was pure magical.

The view from our balcony was nice and the pool. The location isn’t the best. It’s about a twenty minute walk to publix and the only restaurant that is close is the Sand Grill attached to the hotel. You need a car or taxi. We tried taking the bus down south of Sun Tower and waited for an hour and no bus. Ended up taking an uber.

This was a beautiful place to stay, right on the water! Super convienient having the bar attached to the hotel. Only complains were that the WiFi was inconsistent and the shower head was extremely calcified. Otherwise it was a very pleasant stay!

The beach is steps away from the hotel with beach chairs, umbrellas, and towels provided. Our balcony was tiny but the view was great. Our waitress at their restaurant, Jackie, was a delight! Food was good and plentiful. I reported to the office the fact there were no towel bars in the bathroom, which was quite odd.

We had a suite on the 5th floor, overlooking the beach and Ocean. The suite was immaculate as was the property. Staff is wonderful. Pool is so nice to relax in. I can't really point to anything that made us unhappy or frustrated. We had a perfectly wonderful stay. Oh..the on-premise restaurant has a great menu.

The service in the Sand Bar was hit or miss, but the food and drinks were very good! We would stay here again.

Awesome best kept secret.

Nice surprise, this small place on the beach with fresh, bright rooms. However, found the staff un -bending (and not particularly friendly )with any late checkout or waiving the $40 resort fee when not one thing that it covers was able to be used – beach chairs, paddle boards/kayaks, even towels since it poured rain. WiFi terrible and no cell coverage w my carrier was definitely a problem. Don’t even give you free water for that. I think they need to work on their customer service for the boutique hotel they are trying to be. There’s also not much walkable in this area of high rises, fyi.

We love this property. It was our first time visiting Fort Lauderdale and we had to decide on where to stay. We chose this property because it was on the beach with an ocean view. The room was great. It had a separate living area and also a full refrigerator. The only feedback I would give is the bathroom is a little small and outdated. If there could be a little more space in the bathroom and maybe a soaking tub that would really add Value. Overall, we thought it was awesome and we would definitely stay here again. We would probably rather that the resort Phoebe included in the overall price instead of paying separately at the end, but the staff were super friendly. The restaurant was good and the beach was wonderful.

Once in the room, we were impressed with how immaculate it was and how fresh and clean it smelled! The views were stunning! We sat on the deck and stared out over the ocean. Overall, great room, great staff, great views, great food and a great place to stay! I highly recommend this as your post cruise destination if you get some extra time in Ft. Lauderdale!

Walking on to the beach and the balcony. Also the location is not in the center busier louder section near los olas . It’s only one mile away but far enough for a quieter scene. Everting was perfect

The room was clean and spacious with no obstructions for the ocean front view I would playfully jump in front of the window as if I could jump straight into the water that's how close it seemed! The staff was especially nice and friendly very welcoming. The restaurant on site has very delicious food.. a little expensive it's one of those where you close your eyes and just enjoy and worry about the expense later. I love the beach so it's really good to be able to find somewhere that you feel comfortable and relaxed in the true sense of the word and we did here. Looking forward to our next visit.

The room and view speechless!! Worth every dime for the room. The suite was spotless and the staff were so helpful. The restaurant was amazing and my server Jackie was awesome. I definitely will stay here again very very soon.

Not a lot of dining choices within walking distance, but the food at the Sandbar, while not fancy, was quite good. Plenty of beers on tap, other libations so-so.

It’s in a fairly good area but you do have to travel either direction for food and stores. The room was big and decent. The beach wasn’t crowded, so that was nice. The pool is nice but small- it doesn’t go deeper than four feet but it worked for us! Overall a good experience.

The location can’t be beat right on the sand! You have an ocean front balcony with chairs and table if you open the patio doors you can hear the ocean sitting in your room. You have a kitchenette and dining living common area separate from your bedroom. There is absolutely nothing to complain about !

The pillows were not great. We asked for extra so we would have support. They did let us get a couple of extras. Our room had window units and one was right by my head while sleeping and blew in my face. . It constantly woke us cutting on and off because it was so loud. You couldn't watch the TV in the living room area because of the layout. The TV was 8 feet to the left of the sofa. You had to watch tv in the bed. I did notice that not all the rooms had window units. We left at 5:30 this morning and the lobby was locked with no one there so we could not check out the traditional way.

We didn’t ask for them, but as a courtesy they gave us access to the beach and pool early. The rooms were amazing and it was a small hotel so you weren’t overwhelmed with too many families. We've been going there for 3 or 4 years now this year it needs some good cleaning start by cleaning the outside of the doors when you walk in. the air conditioner units are loaded with crap. Clean behind the doors in the bathroom which were sticky. absolutely no water pressure. Wipe down moldings n hinges n light plates. Simple things. patio doors took two people to open them and close them. Place needs some updating. otherwise we love the staff. the waitresses they're great but the food has gone down in quality. we're thinking of staying at Lauderdale By The Sea next time smaller hotels there right on beach. We go there for dinner n breakfast anyway

Sure Bet---I have stayed at this property several times. I love the beach access, every room has a view of the ocean and it is not too far from other places in Fort Lauderdale. It is always clean and the staff are friendly/helpful.

I had a big issue with my reservation thru Expedia however the hotel staff did what they could but the hotel experience is the best I payed for an expensive and better room months in advance and they didn’t have available when I got there They accommodated in what they had available and refunded the money I’ll come back again but I will book directly with them

The room exceptionally clean, neat, decor and comfortable. We are going back for staycations and just to eat there food was fabulous, breakfast, lunch and dinner..Love it

It had a pool and private access to the beach with use of chairs and umbrella. Also a bar and grill on property. We didn’t need anything else for the two nights we were there. Beautiful view of the ocean from our room.

I enjoyed my weekend stay, the staff was very polite and helpful, it was convenient having the Sandbar restaurant on site. The staff works to maintain the property, which looks like it’s been updated in recent years. I would go again, I think because of the location is why it’s a bit pricey..

That part was a let down but waking up to the sunrise made it okay. We did not try the in house restaurant but others said the food was great just pricey. As for location we were only a 10 minute Uber ride from restaurants/attractions. The hotel was quiet and staff were great. Our group would definitely come back.

Charge for beach amenities such as chair and umbrella but fail to tell you that it ends at 5.. check in after 3. Charged for a 4 dollar water in the room that I never drank. And do not know why people are saying the food in the restaurant is good because it is not. No breakfast or anything included in your ancient room.

Problem is that it needs a major renovation. The bathroom in our suite was so small. Tiny little sink, old toilet, small shower and no vents for air conditioning to come in there, or in the little dressing area. Air conditioner unit was pretty loud and looked to be taped onto the wall. Elevator was extremely hot and slow. Pool is small but kept up nicely. Overall wouldn’t stay there again but if it gets fully renovated it would improve their chances for return guests. If you don’t care about the bathroom size and age you may like this place

I like the area and the hotel. What i didn't like was the kitchen was not clean. The bathtub wasn't clean and they didn't put new sheets on the bed when they cleaned the room.

This was the nicest hotel I’ve stayed at in awhile. The pool area was beautiful and the room was super clean and very new looking. The food at the restaurant was super tasty and the staff at the hotel and restaurant were super friendly and helpful. But the absolute best part of our stay was the amazing shower in our bathroom, I loved it.

Great location. Food was good and seemed to be a popular destination. Alot of seaweed on beach, not sure if its because of the turtle nesting initiative they had going on or not. Room was fairly clean except for the floors. White socks ended up pretty black after going without shoes. Very much a beach vibe hotel. An older/smaller building but modernized enough to be comfortable. Would stay again for the price.

Beautiful gem amongst larger diamonds. Small boutique hotel that had just the upscale relaxed atmosphere we were looking for. Beachfront balcony with huge patio doors and a couple outdoor seats. Staff was amazingly friendly. Parking was never an issue as they have one space for every room. Convenient location for all the fun Ft Lauderdale has to offer.

Great front desk staff who go above abs beyond! Beautiful views and the good was amazing! Pool could be cleaned a bit better ave the loungers by the pool as well. No hot tub but the pool water is warm and relaxing.

July 2025 Family vacation to see Morgan Wallen. We only stayed at this location 1 night, but it was the perfect location with the beach at your back door. They provide beach chairs and umbrellas. The pool was so relaxing and felt like an oasis. Only negative was a crib was requested at time of booking and it was not accommodated.

We had a short stay, so we enjoyed the convenience of the beach right there. They had an assistant on the beach that set up an umbrella for us by our loungers. It wasn’t very crowded and we felt safe leaving our stuff on the loungers while in the ocean. Pool was clean and our room was spacious. The drain in the bathroom sink was a little slow. Nice to have a restaurant right there. Aly at front desk was super helpful and very friendly. There were sea turtle nests all around. All around we enjoyed our stay.

This was our second time to visit this property. Our room was clean and comfortable. Lovely view of the beach from our balcony. We like that this hotel is just 7 floors, but only one elevator makes for a wait during busy times, like check in and check out. We hope to visit again next year.

This hotel was in a great location. Having its own beach area was nice because we didn’t have to search for chairs and umbrellas. One thing to note is that while the rooms are mostly updated, there are no USB outlets and regular outlets are few and far between. The bathroom is halfway updated. The bathtub/shower needs to be replaced with something newer. Overall though, a clean little hotel with friendly staff.

The only suggestion is to get rid of alarm clock and put in a charging station! Have stayed here several times and will continue to stay!

I was able to see a beautiful storm with lightning through the sliding glass door. There is a nice balcony and direct access to the beach. The staff were outstanding! Excellent experience!

My 10yr old twins and I stayed here one night after a cruise before heading home to MA. It was such a little diamond! We got to the hotel way before check-in, but the woman at the front desk was amazing. Gave us the the Wi-Fi password, gave us towels, and a quick tour of the property. The kids and I sat by the pool comfortably, grabbed lunch at the amazing restaurant they have on site. The waitress that we had was so kind, calling us, all “love”, and just a sweetheart. The property is really pretty, and the beach was perfect. When we checked into our room, I was pleasantly surprised. It was bright open and spacious, and overlooked the ocean. I made a mental note that whenever we are in the area, this will be our hotel!

Great place for a weekend getaway. Love the fact that it is right on the beach. You come out of the elevator, go down some steps and the beach is there. Food at the hotel restaurant was very good.

The staff was friendly and helpful, and you couldn't ask for a better location if you're a beach lover, but the bathroom in our room could've been cleaner. There was random hair on the floor, and the light switch was pretty dirty. There were also no easily available outlets near the beds for plugging in phone chargers. The only outlet that wasn't hidden behind furniture was across the room next to the ac. I also wasn't aware that parking for one night would cost $70 and that I would be charged a resort fee!. I don't see that listed anywhere here on hotels.com.

The property is in a quiet and great part of Lauderdal beach, with nearby restaurants and shopping malls. Best of all it’s right on the beach. The staff is friendly and welcoming. My go to places when visiting Fort Lauderdale.

The property offer excellent views on beach, clean pool, good restaurant, and beach better maintained by county versus neighboring resorts and condos with seaweed cleanup x2 in week stay versus none at neighboring properties on beach. The room was with excellent view and proximity to elevator and pool. The interior of room could benefit from update to furniture and ACs moderately to high noise to point TV is nearly unheard until level 70 volume. The AC runs frequently....make sure it's on AUTO not the high setting house keeping seems ordered to set it to.

My husband and I went for my birthday and had the best time ever. The staff was incredible. The food was amazing being able to walk out to the beach and have a chair, umbrella and table was the absolute best. We will definitely visit again and would definitely recommend this location to our friends..

We stayed here prior to our cruise because we wanted an extra beach day. Airport to hotel Lyft was less than $20. Hotel to cruise was about $20. Loved the area, the beach, the hotel, and the restaurant. Everyone was very nice and helpful. We will stay here again.

This is a hidden gem in the city. Right on the beach, staff is wonderful. Place is spotless.

The experience was absolutely beautiful. The view of the ocean from the bathroom was stunning, and the staff were incredibly attentive and welcoming. You also have the sandbar grill right below. Highly recommend!

The Sun Tower is on the beach which is exactly why we booked it. There are limited rooms as every room faces the ocean which is a great feature. The room was bigger than expected, the restaurant has a great breakfast, the beach chairs & umbrellas were super convenient and overall we enjoyed our stay. If you’re looking for a chill vacation this is a great place.

We enjoyed the bed and the updated bathroom fixtures. Even the kids loved the shower. Nice pool, great ocean view and beach. Enjoyed our dinner at the Sand Bar on the back of the hotel. Would definitely stay here again if we were in the area. Not really walking distance to anything is the only downside in my opinion.

We had an excellent stay staff was friendly love the father daughter duo at the front desk. It was like we were friends. Nice atmosphere and fun away from but close enough to everything. We definitely would come and stay there again. Thank you for making our stay awesome during the festival!

I appreciated that the property was right on the beach and beach chairs were available daily. The staff were also friendly and helpful, especially in the restaurant. The property is dated, especially the bathrooms. It was also very noisy at times due to the laminate flooring. The air conditioning units in the rooms are extremely loud.

Very nice room and large. Ocean view was great. The room was expensive. Some of front desk staff were lazy and difficult - some were great. Some of the restaurant were aweful - some were great. The elevator was shoddy and smelled like grease. This place is very inconsistent - seems like a new manager is needed.

The only negative: housekeeping staff repeatedly slamming doors right outside of our room, rather than gently closing. For hours while we were trying to sleep. Incredibly loud and entirely unnecessary/clueless.

Loved this cute little spot! We had a beautiful suite with a beach front balcony. Would stay here again in a heart beat! The bathroom was a bit of a low budget retro fit which is the only reason for the one lower score. But it would not stop me from staying here again.
