Super nice and friendly, close to the beach and the main street. Not the most recent but very well maintained and clean. Staff from the front desk to housekeeping was very nice.

This was our first stay with royal palms and it was great. The desk attendant (Niko, I believe) was very helpful throughout my entire stay. We travel a lot and this was the first hotel that the desk attendant personally walked me to my room to make sure I was satisfied with the room. The hotel has 3 pools, one by each of the main building. It’s still a small hotel even with the 3 buildings, which I find a good thing. It was a short walk to the beach and to nearby restaurants. The pools were our highlight, they look great and have lots of seating. When I visited it was slow season and during the weekdays so the bar was not open during my stay but I didn’t mind. Parking was very easy but not sure if it was because it had low occupancy during my stay. Room was clean, and the AC worked great. The only suggestions I would make is pressure washing the exterior walls and a fresh coat of paint, and some of the fixtures in the room could use some touch ups or replacement. I’ve stayed at a handful of beach hotels and the cosmetic flaws are pretty standard. I would definitely recommend this resort and I look forward to coming back in the future.

Very nice. Clean rooms, lots of parking spaces, and the staff was friendly. My favorite staff member was an Argentinian man. Sorry i can remember his name but he was exceptional.

We had a pleasant experience at this hotel, the concierge guys were friendly and helpful, the room was clean, nicely renovated and spacious, the beds comfortable. It was nice to be able to use any of the 3 pools from the village properties and we enjoyed the restaurants and shops nearby, plus it's a very short walk to the beach.

My stay was ok…. It could have been a little cleaner as I had visible trash under my bed from a previous occupant. Housekeeping only dropped off clean towels and wash cloths but never swept or mopped as the floors are tile, so by check out day they were kinda gross. My mattress was horrible, it had a huge dip in it and it was so uncomfortable to sleep. Although the location was absolutely perfect. As well it was a quiet location which was another plus for me.

We appreciated being able to check in right away; however, the front desk experience was not ideal. The staff member assisting us appeared overwhelmed, and we were essentially left to check ourselves in by completing an online form and scanning our own IDs. There was little to no guidance provided, we weren’t informed about nearby sister properties or that we had access to their pools (which, by the way, were much cleaner), nor were we told about happy hour options. The amenities were disappointing. The pools were dirty, and one was completely unusable. We were told this was due to nearby trees, but the pools were only cleaned in the morning meaning guests were left swimming in leaves for the rest of the day. Additionally, the advertised pool bar is only open on Fridays and Saturdays from 4–10 PM, and even then, it seems inconsistent. Housekeeping was another major issue. Our room was not cleaned once during our stay. We were only provided with fresh towels and paper products. The lack of attention to detail was concerning, we ended up cleaning our own shower due to visible buildup on the walls. Overall, while the concept and location are great, the delivery does not match expectations. With better management, attention to cleanliness, and improved guest communication, this place could be something special.

The staff was very warm and helpful. Room was very clean and comfortable. The exterior of the property was not as clean as I would have wanted but everything else was good. I would stay again.

The pools all had green on the bottoms. There was a rusty nail hanging out of the back of the bathroom door. The plug outlet was coming out of the wall by the nightstand and the pillows were lumpy and old.

Communication about the additional charges should have been made. Charged a per day resort fee, per day parking fee and per day chair rental. I don’t mind extra fees when I am aware of them ahead of time. Also, pool bar was closed throughout our entire stay. Room was great and staff were very nice.

Nice quiet area of the beach. Had 1 bedroom with sofa bed. The sofa bed is small for 2 adults. The shower's water pressure was weak. Other than that a good, clean place.

The place is in great location walking distance to A1 main strip… but our room was great for sleeping, but bed was not made up, one bed had dirty sheets (although staff came right away to fix the problem) and our bathroom window was ajarred and wouldn’t close all the way, the shower was fine, but the half glass closure was not good, as water while showering keep spraying out onto the floor, we had to place our beach towel on floor. We stayed close to second pool by rm 1208 / 1206 was great having pool close proximity to rooms but wished they had towel pick up / drop off there and wish they had more umbrellas. But overall not bad.

Hotel is outdated and has a roach infestation beware!!! If I could give 0 stars I would!!!! They only pro about this hotel is it is located right on beach, other than that stay far away!!!!

It isn’t anything I don’t like about the property, in fact it is nice and cozy. Some things could be freshened up a little as far as outdoor pillows and chairs, but that is minor things.

- After my stay, I requested a proper invoice/receipt required for business travel reimbursement. The property repeatedly redirected me to Booking.com, while Booking.com officially confirmed in writing that the hotel itself is responsible for issuing the document. Despite multiple requests from both me and Booking.com support, the hotel stopped responding entirely and ignored further communication. What is most concerning is not even the missing invoice itself, but the complete lack of professionalism and communication. The property ignored both its customer and its own business partner while refusing to resolve a basic administrative issue. If this is how problems are handled after payment has already been collected, I would strongly reconsider relying on this property in case any issue arises during your stay.

Walking distance to the beach

On the good side, the room was large and quiet. Windows allowed in a lot of light. Everything worked. The room must date from the 50’s but was kept clean. Bed did the job. And the staff could not have been nicer. Very welcoming. Though older, I would stay here again. Location is A1!! Two suggestions. Microwave is in a large non- descript cabinet. A note indicating its location would help. Also, the stairs leading to the room’s second floor location could use an overhead light at night for us older folk. Again, I liked its charm and it’s staff.

$10 a night parking was gasss

The hotel was centrally located so that you could walk to the beach and dining options were very close by. This was a good hotel to stay for the night before heading to MIA Airport.

Great location, nice room, very clean. Parking is easy. Very friendly and helpful staff. They allow smoking in the pool area and I was subject to a lot of second-hand smoke so that chased me away from the pool area a couple of times.

Nice location, nice pool areas There were people in hooded jumpers around the pool overnight outside our room which was intimidating, people shouting in other rooms and two people on the lounger on one evening followed by soiled sanitary products found next to it the next day

The bar was only open 2 days due to staff sbortage. The fitness center and spa was closed. The pools were very clean and staff were attentive. We felt very safe here.Good location, minutes from the beach and restaurants. We will book again.

A very cool property centrally located in Fort Lauderdale. Tons of great restaurants, bars, and shopping in the area.

Staff at front was accommodating and welcoming, the kids love the pool. I had good time would come back. Only thing wish bar opened early on Sunday, aside it was perfect spot, close to beach.

Great location and friendly staff. We got new towels and toilet papers daily so we ended up with a huge pile of unsused stuff. The pool is kept clean and there are always sun loungers available. The rooms weren't really cleaned, the floor was dirty all the time. Also some staff were looking into the room every time they walked past which made us feel a bit uncomfortable.

This was your prototypical beach hotel. It was clean, there were a lot of nice little shops nearby and access to the beach was very convenient.

Overall the value was the usage of many pools, cost effectiveness, and met our short trips needs. Would return.

One of the beds was a pull out sofa and they didnt add an additional sheet to cover the sofa ,just one blanket to cover with. That was in poor taste. And when we requested another blanket we never got it. Completely ignored.

Dirty bathroom especially the shower floor and fixtures, coffee machine didn’t work, mini refrigerator had so much ice buildup that the door wouldn’t close properly, toilet was dirty and kept running.

The restaurant/bar which we were told would stay open until 10 pm, was not on 2 of the 4 nights we were there, unfortunately. The hotel is a bit run down and dated. The front desk manager when we arrived and departed was very helpful and friendly. The area is very pretty and felt safe

NOTHING The room was old, dirty, dingy, floors not mopped, bathroom sink faucet is coming out of the sink, there were boot prints on the bathroom floor and urine in the toilet. Totally disgusted. I WOULD NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL!

We were near back gate so when it closed mase a large bang, didn't happen to often but at 4am it's wakes u up.

I was extremely upset however the website did not show the gym was under construction, the poolside bar only open Friday and sat nights (so didn’t work with our short stay) and there was no restaurant on site as advertised. When I brought this up To staff that I had paid for these specific amenities I was ignored and they refused to communicate or offer any refund. Very disappointed

The room was clean and very nice. We had a view of the pool right outside of our window, which we enjoyed. The staff were incredible and definitely improved our rating of the stay. We were able to check in hours early without notice. We had a few minor inconveniences such as our room keys not working on the door and then the hot tub not having hot water. However, the staff were very responsive and resolved our issues as quickly as possible. They were also very helpful and navigated us around the area. We truly enjoyed our stay!

We arrived on a rainy Sunday afternoon (so we didn't get to enjoy the pools) and we were led to our nice clean room. Where we promptly all took a nice nap to the air conditioner sounds that were a bit scary but we were able to overcome with our exhaustion. Best part for us was their location of two blocks from the shore for when the rain did stop. We would comfortably stay here again and just hope for a less noisy air conditioner.

As a woman traveling alone, I was very uneasy not being able to lock or secure my space myself. The back gate facing Birch is also unsecured and does not latch at all. If these were corrected, it would be great. But lack of security left me feeling uneasy, to be honest.

Beautiful rooms at great prices

While we understand that overbooking can happen during busy times like spring break, the replacement hotel was not comparable to the resort experience we originally booked. The Royal Palms is marketed as a higher-end boutique resort, while the Tranquilo felt like a much more basic property and not somewhere we would have chosen ourselves. What was most disappointing was that we were not given a meaningful option to choose a comparable property or offered much explanation or compensation for the change. We booked specifically for the Royal Palms experience and that’s not what we ended up receiving. Expedia made the booking process easy, but situations like this highlight how important it is for either the hotel or the booking platform to ensure guests are relocated to a truly comparable property when overbooking occurs.

My daughter and I Stayed here for 3 days before our cruise and we enjoyed every minute. Sort walk to the beach, oil is amazing and very safe. We will be checking back in for another weekend after our cruise.

It was awful climbing the stairs with my huge suitcase. Rooms were once modern, edgey and fresh. They now look tired and dated. Never again. It was once a super hotel, now past its prime.

Room was very dated and not as clean as it should be. The water coming out of the sinks was dirty and rusty. Floors in my room was not level and very warn.

I messaged the staff and they told me they went “to warn them” to stop making so much noise but that made it worse. My 9 yr old son was scared and couldn’t sleep and I was mad and trying to fix the situation by letting management know. But it didn’t help. The noise got worse. There were several of what looked like early twenties males wearing full ski masks walking around smoking weed and huffing “galaxy gas”. I text them that night and also today as well as emailed them. I’m at least looking for someone to acknowledge my concern and I feel I am due a refund. This was wild.

The disinfectant smell was overpowering in the room, and the shower water control was not working correctly. The door didn’t open correctly, or close correctly.

Room was clean. TV in BR did not work. Would recommend some type of "non-slip" surface be placed in bathtub - quite a dangerous situation. For an "extended" stay, this would be an acceptable choice - not recommended for the "business traveler" since there's very few amenities onsite.

There were no phones in the room, use of your own to call the office was required. The television was ROKU only (no cable) and if you did not have your own account you was again out of luck. No microwave in the room. The drapes in the room provided no light restriction, we were in the middle of a well lighted city, because there were no blackout curtain to go with them. You could read a book with the curtains closed. The hotel had an outside bar area at the pool that did not close until 2AM and the noise from it kept us up until they closed. When I complained to the front office, I was told that they could do nothing about it. The hotel itself was built in the 1950's and has been remodeled, I think better attention should have been paid to paying hotel guests instead of night owls. The only good thing I will say that was acceptable was the housekeeping staff was good. They fulfilled our requirements. Overall , I will say DO NOT stay at this Resort and Spa (REALLY !!!!) unless you wish to throw away your money and NOT enjoy your visit to Ft. Lauderdale.

Super cute hotel, room was clean and area felt super safe. Breakers is a fun street for food and shopping. The gym and the spa were closed for repairs so not sure why they’re charging a resort fee but other than that I’d totally stay there again. The location can’t be beat.

Only good thing about this hotel is the staff. This hotel has no elevators or restaurants and does not specify this on their website. As well they show pictures of food which is misleading as it has you believing there is a restaurant. The hotel is old and not very clean.

Falsely advertised as a gay prioritized resort, tiny rooms (didn't even have a table, had 1 chair, poor management, TV did not work, internet did not work, kids were on the property, that was supposed to be a 21+ property. The property has no security, the room didn't even have a dead bolt! Completely uncomfortable experience wouldn't hadnstayed here if it were free!

This is the first time my kids have ever wanted to leave a hotel early. The pictures on the website are very misleading. The property is advertised as a spa, but when I tried to book a massage, nothing was available. Guests are told to text if they need anything. I requested bath soap and didn’t receive a response until over an hour later—by that time, I was already asleep. I woke up hearing what sounded like running water and thought there was a flood. When I got up to check, I realized it was water coming from a neighboring room because someone was showering. I even took a video of the water. Overall, this stay was extremely disappointing, and I would not recommend this hotel to families.

The hot water at this property was completely out during my stay. I was informed of this by the property and told I could move to a different location, but the alternative offered was not comparable to the room I had booked, so I declined. This occurred around 3:00 PM on a Saturday. I was then told that because it was already 3:00 PM and I had “used the amenities for the day,” I would not be refunded for that day. As someone on a three-week trip staying here for five days, this forced me to pack all of my luggage and immediately secure another hotel. Management suggested that I could remain at this property and walk to another location to shower, which is completely unacceptable. Loss of hot water is a fundamental service failure, and attempting to shift the burden onto the guest is not reasonable. The staff were dismissive, inflexible, and hid behind “policy” rather than taking responsibility for a basic utility failure. The handling of this situation was poor from start to finish. I would not stay here again and do not recommend this property.

The rooms were never cleaned with no fresh towels, they just made the bed and rehung the same towels. No extra toiletries given. The gym is closed indefinitely. Turns out this same resort own a few other ones and a few restaurants where you get a discount but no one told us so we paid $50 for 2 croissants and a coffee. Overall, the only good thing about this place was the location and the fact that i didnt see a single cockroach or bedbug in the place. Otherwise its an extremely overpriced motel.

This hotel is old and run down. The room was dirty. There was no hot water in the shower. The plug was missing from the tub. When we filled the tub, the water was yellow. The kitchen smoke detector was missing. There is no safety lock on the door. The walls are thin. We had to wait 6 hours for both bath and beach towels. There was no bedding for the pull out couch. They later brought us a bag of sheets only. It is hard to get ahold of someone at the front desk. The pool is ridiculously deep. The location is good, but that is it.

The hotel was in a very safe and quiet area with plenty of restaurants within walking distance. The staff was excellent in solving any issues.

Nice rooms during the stay. The main reason I selected this place was the gym and it's proximity to the main bike lane off the beach. The gym on this site "flooded" which I wasn't told until the next day. They gave me the code tk walk about 4 blocks over to another site with a gym. Of course the door had issues opening/beeping audibly for us to here when trying to enter. The manager saw me and he even had a hard time getting the door open. Before the manager came and helped me get in, I called 5 times and got 5 different people after being on hold all of which the calls dropped. The manager who just by chance found me and helped said they use cwll phones time to wifi around their resort which leads to calls dropping. It's like they know of issues here but choose to DO NOTHING. Then their gym was very mediocre, dirty, with raggedy equipment. The mirror was broken with glass on the floor and cones and caution tape in front of it. The next day me and 3 other people all tried to enter with the code unsuccessfully and just walked away. So it was a waste of money to pay for a gym and be unable to access it othe than the day the manager helped. And now that I remember the door to the room also stopped locking. I had to dial the number because NOBODY IS EVER AT THE OFFICE! They came quickly and had to change the batteries, but after we tested it with my key before I drove to something I had scheduled it didn't work. The room was clean, the staff was courteous and knowledgeable about places to eat and visit. The bar was lively although we didn't have a chance to experience it during this stay. The location of the hotel was close to the beach and many places to eat and shop. We enjoyed our stay and this was a great place for our getaway.

There is no lift in the property so be prepared to carry your bags up a maximum of 3 flights of stairs. Would be beneficial to state in the rooms that are bookable on which level these are located.

One block from ocean is the only good thing about this hotel. Front office was staffed by a ring doorbell. Ring it and someone will show up eventually, while you stand on the doorstep, wasting your vacation time. Half of the light fixtures didn't work, bedroom TV didn't work. Sink in bathroom wouldn't drain. The bathroom door doesn't close entirely, so it cannot be latched. Every time someone did a number two, we got to enjoy the odor for an hour throughout the entire room. And finally, on our last morning, we were woke up at 9am, by tree trimmers with chainsaws directly outside of our windows. I will never stay here again.

The property is definitely a bit on the older side and isn’t especially fancy, but the service and location more than makes up for it. In fact, we barely left the neighborhood due to all of the nice mom and pop establishments in the area (and the fact that the beach is 1-2 min walk away). Great bang for your buck, definitely recommend!

The Royal Palms is in definite need of some TLC. While the room was spacious and clean, with good quality bedding, the mattress was old and had a few uncomfortable sags in it. The property is in rough shape with broken and aging furniture throughout the grounds. The gardens don't appear to be maintained and everything is in need of a good power washing and a coat of paint. While it appears to be a gated property, the gates were always unlocked or open and the entire property is open and accessible to the public. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful though they were often hard to reach because one person supports the front desk for a few nearby properties. This means you often need to use a call button to summon the front desk staff and it can take them up to ten minutes to appear. The Royal Palms is a member of the North Beach Village, a conglomerate of six or seven properties of similar vintage and quality. This property doesn't feature any bells and whistles but it does have welcoming staff, ample parking, and a fantastic location, just two blocks from the beach. Great for a budget-conscious traveller who prefers a beach to a "resort".

There were no dressers for storing clothing. The bathroom tiles close to the floor had not been cleaned in ages. The beds were comfortable. The AC worked well. The shower shampoo, conditioner and gel smelled terrible, but worked ok.

This hotel was very cute and had lovely staff. It is in a great location and is very walkable. This was a great getaway spot and would recommend this hotel.

Clean, relaxed environment, welcoming staff, local to beach and restaurants. However, I was disappointed that the spa was not what I thought it was. very small spa with one employee. We weren’t able to get any kind of spa services which is why I booked this resort. Other than that our stay was nice!

The place was clean. Both pools were great and access to the surrounding pools and hot tubs was a nice bonus. Close to the beach as well.

The beds were incredibly comfortable. The pool outside of our room was riddled with children the entire day and someone brought their own music which was loud and annoying. Being two adults on a kid free trip we went to the main pool by the bar and it was much more peaceful. The food was quite good and all in all we had a good stay.

It was a nice place to lounge and cool-off. The only minor to the location is it was a bit of a walk to any nightlife or stores, but not too big of a deal. If you're staying in this area, I would definitely recommend it. We can't wait to stay again.

Everything was perfect for our last minute trip! We did late arrival and smooth check in and check out.

We have stayed in this group of hotels before and it was descent. This was the same and I like that you can use amenities at sister properties to change scenery. They did charge to get into the room before check in which seemed like nickel and diming thr customer since they had the room and it was already clean, so that was odd.

I enjoyed it overall. I only stayed one night. Check in was wonderful. David was very nice and gave me a tour of the property. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The plumbing needs some work. The shower head was spraying over the glass wall and getting the floor wet. The toilet did not flush well. I would have mentioned it when I checked out but I was basically ignored when asking a question so completely forgot about it. I might stay there again. Most disappointing was the pool bar and restaurant only opened Thursday-Sunday. Overall, comfortable and close to everything.

Office closed and phone not being answered was a little off putting, property looked empty, hoped for early check-in was told 12pm but then later told no. Paying for parking that is extremely limited.

Property is excellent value for the price. Location 1 block off central beach, rooms are clean and comfortable and service was top notch. Property conditions are a tad tired and unfortunately the bar isn't open daily nor managed effectively. Still an excellent value.

It was quiet the time we went. Had fun trying out most of the 31 pools, we managed to jump in 17 of them and 2 hot tubs.

The property was very convenient to Fort Lauderdale Beach and several dining establishments. The bathroom definitely needed work and I’m sure the back in the day when this property was first built it was a preferred resort and spa. They charged us for an early check in which I thought was a bit unusual as normally if your room is ready, you can check in at any time.

My negative experience was the walls are so thin, you can hear everything and everyone. There was work being done on the property so even though there was some sort of hammering or banging going on near by, it was difficult to sleep. Getting up super early because of the noise was not what I wanted to do on vacation. Another thing I found very frustrating was there was no cable tv. My husband and I love watching HGTV after a fun day but that was not an option. They only had Roku and I was not going to start inputting my personal information to be able to watch Netflix. So for me, the lack of privacy and comfort of just chilling on the couch, was a big let down. Nonetheless, like I said staff was great and you really can’t beat the 2 minute walk to the beach.

Nice place - rooms could be a little more relaxing. So much potential but none of the amenities were open during our stay.

The property itself is nice, nothing outlandish. Pools are good. The bar is good. Rooms need a bit of TLC. Shower head was corroded. Wasn’t the best pressure. The air-conditioning had mold all on the vents. Had to take a washcloth and clean it out. It’s not good if someone is allergic to mold. Hopefully to see some improvements. I would stay there again!

We had a great stay! Hotel is very willing to hold your bags if you arrive early, or need to stay beyond checkout, while still letting you use the facilities. Bartender was fantastic! Pool was warm too!

We liked the nearby food truck and coffee shop, both were delicious. We didn’t like that there weren’t more reasonably priced family friendly restaurants closer to the hotel. The distance to the beach was perfect.

This spot was perfect! About 15-20 min walk from Fr Lauderdale strip. Quiet area, lots of breakfast and lunch areas nearby. Bar at the hotel was perfect with a heated pool!! Great place to stay!!

Owner was super nice, check in was a bit and delayed but had a drink at the pool and it was all good. Rooms were clean and nice sized. The shower took a long time to heat up. Will return next time I am in town.

Property is within a 20 minute walk from the more heavily populated area with lots of restaurants and just a block away from the beach. Rooms need more lighting and wished there was an actual lock on the inside of the room. No do not disturb sign to hang on the door either so made us kind of feel like someone could walk in while we are in the room even though we did not have any issues while staying. Just made us feel a little uneasy.

We felt safe enough. There’s no deadbolt but you need a card to get in. It was a lowkey area so it was a quieter atmosphere however it’s definitely not soundproof. The windows don’t shut completely so sound travels! We’d visit again. We really enjoyed our experience there

Stayed Thursday through Monday of Valentine’s Day weekend. Room was serviced one time. I asked for it daily, from multiple workers. I did get an additional couple towels one day. Room 3206, which also I might add is a suite. Door did not close, had to be pulled shut. Bed was not very comfortable, rip on furniture. The bar downstairs, which isn’t owned by the hotel was nice and the people who worked there were great. Location was good, but the lackluster service is something I have a hard time with.

The resort was lovely, 3 pools (one right outside our room!!), bar, fabulous front office staff, BBQ (which we took advantage of), just a block away from the beach...heaven. Would definitely go back. The only con would be the bathroom in our room needed some TLC.
