We had a very nice stay. Phoebe was very helpful! Nice amenities and nice clean room.

This was our 3rd time staying here and as always very clean room was ready when we arrived. Paid the $25 early arrival fee which is very convenient so I don’t have to worry about our luggage and hung by the pool for the day.

Very large room with everyone needs. Don't miss this 'golden nugget'. Fantastic value, 5 mins walk from the front boulevard. Staff friendly and professional. Wish I'd booked a few extra days. Well done team !

Great spot centrally located to Ft Lauderdale beach. Walk to everything. Quick uber to las Olas for more great shops and restaurants. Property extremely clean and well maintained.

Tried to give us a terrible small room in a different building, we did not get the building or the room that was advertised, was told they didn’t have anymore available, advertised as a nice white building with the pool out the front door , she did what she could and moved us to a bigger better room , but was still in the ol 1970s building, run down needs updated, felt like the old bait and switch, What was pictured very nice.

The front desk staff were very helpful and accommodating. We booked a room in the recently renovated building and it was nice and clean. Very conveniently located close to the beach and great price.

Quiet, tastefully refurbished, spacious and fully equipped. Minutes away from the beach. Very interesting bakeries and breakfast options a couple of blocks away.

First time at this property. They have 2 buildings - one "traditional" and one upgraded. We were unaware at the time of booking and was directed to the traditional building. The furniture was new but the room was old and weathered. The door would not lock properly and we requested an upgrade to the newer building. The junior suite was so lovely!! The entire suite featured updated furniture and the bathroom immaculate. There is a pool with lounge chairs but no food options within walking distance. There is a lovely kitchen area in the junior suite where you can prepare a meal. Loved our short stay and will return again.

The room had a higher degree of humidity that could be solved with a dehumidifier in the unit.

Just a wonderful place!!!

Room was small but clean, older place but looks like the room was recently remodeled. Pool was available. We were able to drop off our luggage until check-in, which was very convenient. Walkable, near Fort Lauderdale Beach and a state park, which was a nice little visit. Safe and quiet neighborhood, plenty of restaurants within walking distance.

The room was modest but had most essentials, though we would have appreciated a full length mirror. We didn’t receive any housekeeping or maid service throughout our stay, but we also didn’t inquire about it.

The bed was super low to the ground... Sort of strange. The kitchenette was quite old but everything worked just fine.

Kitchen needed a cutting board and sauce pan. The room was clean, no smells. My 6’ tall husband didn’t like the low bed, pillows were flat. The window needed blackout drapes. The place was quiet and were enjoyed the outdoor space, with chairs and an overhang. The kitchen was nice to have. The location was nice, short walk to the beach, and it felt safe. We didn’t appreciate having to pay to parking. It was a good value for the money, and we would stay there again.

The room was a great size for a family. Nice to have 3 beds and 2 dedicated bedrooms. The suite needs some modernization but, it suited our needs. Pool was great. We were able to buy groceries and cook breakfasts. Would be good if they had some basics on hand for convenience but we made do. Good green space. Nice walking distance to the beach and some shopping. Not fancy but very functional.

Bed was the absolute worst I've ever slept in...hard as a rock. The room didnt get dark at all which made sleeping rough. Location was decent...10 min walk to the beach. Room was older but spotless.

Lovely low key place to stay. We stayed in a renovated room and it was well done. the smaller setting is very nice to get around, parking is easy and inexpensive. Nice to see that they allow pets, I would stay here again. I would love to see grills available to use on the property.

I liked the courtyard between the two buildings. Paying for the beach chairs at the pool seemed a bit much.

I thought I was getting a regular hotel room, but this had a mini kitchen with a full fridge, small stove, table with 4 chairs, etc. There was a bed in the main room and then a separate bedroom with a bathroom attached. It is an older property, but Everything was super clean and taken care of. We weren’t going to make it before the front desk closed, so they called to make sure we could get our keys. They had games in the courtyard - ping pong, corn hole, etc, but I’m not sure how you got the equipment to play them. I would definitely stay there again!

We enjoyed our stay here even though it was short. We got in late before our cruise but the room was clean and spacious. Very modern and fun! The only suggestion is to soften the cleaning solution they use.The scent of the Fabulous they used to clean was a little over powering. The staff and communication for after hour checkin couldn't have been easier. Will definately return.

Great location for the cruise terminal. Huge room in the traditional building. Like the privacy of the departure sleeping spaces. Since we were only there one night, didn’t use the extensive kitchen facilities, but would be great for AC extended visit. Walkable to the beach and restaurants. The room would be perfect for young couples and kids. The beds were very low for seniors. As were the seating options. Need blackout curtains! There was no way to make the room dark at night.

It was a great location close to restaurants and the beach. The staff was courteous. I was disappointed in the quality of our room. Our bathroom was not updated as in the pictures that are shown on Expedia. We had no mirrors throughout the entire room besides a very small one above the very small bathroom vanity. We had window unit air conditioning. Just not what I was expecting.

Perfect location with great staff

The room was large and more spacious than I anticipated. It fit my family of five perfectly. The kitchen area was a great spot for us to sit down and eat without getting crumbs on the beds. Also loved the heated pool as it was quite chilly weather when we were there. Our check-in time was after their lobby closed and the process of collecting our room keys was easy. We also really loved how close to the beach it was. Just a short walk. Over all my family loved our stay.

You need an elevator

This place needs to be gutted and redone or else lower the price to fit the place for what it is. It must have been built in the 50's and most of the fixtures and kitchen And bathroom decor is from the original decor.

Excellent stay at Rolo Beach Hotel in Fort Lauderdale! We wanted a comfortable hotel near the beach and restaurants. We found the Rolo hotel and did a quick in-person check of the facility and got a tour of a room. It's a boutique hotel and the room they had available was a junior suite in the updated building (their building next door isn't updated as much so I would definitely pick the main updated building. My wife was surprised at how spacious it was, the layout and conveniences of a full mini kitchen. Everything looked brand new and very clean. The cost was only ~$30 more than a standard king so we took it for one night to keep our options open. After we settled in we almost immediately decided to extend out stay there for two more nights - great move! They also have a nice little pool area where we hung out a couple times. The location is great too. We were just a couple blocks from the beach action and a number of restaurants and coffee shops in the immediate area. There are fantastic dining options in this location including the Wine Garden (such a cool vibe, live music and good food - a true hidden gem), the Village Cafe (excellent food and atmosphere). We would stay at the Rolo Beach Hotel again without hesitation. Nothing, everything was great.

It was quiet and boutique I felt like I was living. In an apartment and the vibe of old fort Lauderdale. Everything was clean.

The building is a bit dated and not soundproof (we had to use earplugs to cope with the crying baby next door). The kitchen was OK but lacked proper drinking glasses.

I was on a plane most of the arrival day, arriving after 5 pm and would have liked to have received lockbox instructions the day before.

I will say, if you are handicapped, request a first floor room because there is no elevator.

Room was big, 2 beds, full kitchen, but you could tell was older. Needs a full length mirror somewhere in room. Beds were ok, pool was nice.

Terrible experience. Toilet doesn't flush, bathtub doesn't drain. AC right beside the bed so it blows on your face all night. Never again.

We only stayed one night before a cruise. After hours check in was super easy with a detailed email with pictures! We stayed in the "older" (pink) building and were VERY happy! Although we didn't get to use any of it, there was a full fridge, microwave, stove, keurig, and table with two chairs. The bed was super comfy but the pillows could be updated. (That would be our ONLY criticism!) The pool also looked nice. We would definitely look into staying here again.... especially for more than just one night!

This is my second time staying here! (My first review should be up here as well) this time I stayed in the standard room because I wanted to see what was the difference! Both rooms are the same except the upgraded rooms have vanity mirrors with 3 different lightings! (Full & bathroom) Good for the girls who love a good picture and a good look while doing their makeup! And the interior is updated Other than that there’s really no difference in rooms as far as space goes. That part of it is exactly the same. (1bed) The receptionist both times were very helpful, welcoming & professional going above and beyond. From the time you book the reservation you will receive a text message asking for your arrival time so that they can work something out if you get there before the office opens! And they will show you what to do if you leave when the office is closed! This location is a 5-10 minute walk from the beach!!! Lots of restaurants along the beach to choose from ! LOVE LOVE LOVE it & I’ll continue to stay here everytime I visit !!

My stay was absolutely amazing. The front desk were friendly and accommodating, special shoutout to Fiby! She’s very sweet! Moreover, my room was spotless, great A/C, comfy bed, nice sized TV, and the bathroom was very clean. I also enjoyed the complimentary roll of towel paper and dish soap. They also provided dishes (cutting board, cork skrew, mugs and glasses etc.) I was provided plenty of towels and had access to beach umbrellas and chairs which were cheap to rent! Also, aside being a 7 minute walk for the beach, the hotel has a pool that goes up to 8ft and is near restaurants, convenience store, museum, a park, and short uber/lyft from other amenities and attractions. They are also close to the airport! Cost effective, clean, friendly staff, and close proximity to attractions…I will absolutely stay here every time I visit Fort Lauderdale!

This was a perfect spot just a few blocks from the beach. The rooms are clean, modern, and stocked with dishes and cutlery. The outside has a retro motel feel. The pool is very nice and spacious. They upgraded us to the newer building which was very nice of them. We would definitely stay again!

The property was pretty basic, but the room was large. The room was very clean. You could walk to the ocean in 10 minutes and it seemed pretty safe also.

Hotel was super clean. You don't need to purchase parking from them, there is plenty of street parking. Also really close to the beach which was nice. The only issue is if you have more than 2 people, they charge an additional $20 for every person—this seemed a bit excessive to me, especially if you are paying for the larger room.

Beds are stiff and pillows flat, but still got decent sleep. Nice a cool rooms- ac works phenomenal. Quick trip, great walking Distance to beach and A1A.

The only complaint we had was the leaf blower being used each morning starting early to blow off the sidewalks. Sleeping in on vacation without that disturbance would’ve been welcomed. Otherwise, it was a great place to stay for the price!

I just canceled another hotel close to here, because was a mess, I didn't cared if they refunded me, because was a trash hotel, then i bokked this amazing hotel, we love it. Thank you!

My reservation was for a king suite in the older, unrenovated part of the complex. It had a full kitchen with stove, refrigerator, microwave and full-sized sink and Keurig-style coffeemaker. Older but clean with a platform king bed that was comfortable. Very close (walkable) to the beach and multiple eateries and shops. The staff was very kind, even after losing my key. I would definitely stay again.

The staff was friendly and helpful throughout our stay, making check-in and any requests feel easy and welcoming. That said, it was quite loud during our visit due to Fourth of July fireworks nearby—not a dealbreaker, but something to keep in mind if you're visiting over a holiday weekend and have young kids or light sleepers. One thing we didn’t love: the extra charge for parking. Given the nightly rate, it feels like parking should be included. Still, overall a great experience and we’d consider staying again!

Booked a one-night stay for two rooms prior to a cruise. Thought it would be a walkable area near the beach. It was kind of run down looking outside and in the general area. Kids tried two restaurants and both were closed, so they ended up with WingStop. The lady who checked us in (only one room was ready so we were literally waiting in the second room in the rain because there’s no real office or lobby) was rude. She chased us to our room when she saw more people from our group go in and was acting like we had too many people. Sorry we didn’t want to wait in the rain because our other room wasn’t ready. Room was somewhat remodeled and nice enough inside, but I would never in a million years stay there again. I couldn’t wait to leave after paying around $550 for two rooms for a night. Awful experience.

What the property lacks in upgrades, it more than achieves with space. If you aren’t fussy and like old Florida style motels, you can snag a 2 bedroom, full kitchen apartment for a steal.. and in a great location.

This property had the cleanest rooms we have ever stayed in. In the past 50 years we’ve stayed in many hundreds of 5 Star hotels and resorts. This property beat them all in cleanliness and comfort! The room was small and cozy, but very well maintained. The management was very nice and informative. We highly recommend this property!

The pool was in need of a serious cleaning due to the rope being damaged and little pieces of plastic sting was everywhere. There was also two piles of poop on the pool deck near the deep end that was likely from the iguana we spotted the next day.

Rolo Beach Hotel was an unexpected gym. It was tucked in this little area of cute boutiques and cafes all within about 4 blocks to the beach, which was gorgeous! We had everything we needed, the rooms were huge! The only improvement that could be made was replacing the mattress on the pull out couch as it was a bit sunken in and worn. Otherwise, this was a great stay! Pull out couch mattress.

Stay’cation for the Florida Panthers Parade! Staff was attentive, polite and welcoming. Room was clean and simple. Nicely done and well maintained. Nothing special but not a dump by any stretch. Very pleased with the accommodations.

We needed a place to stay for one night in Ft Lauderdale, just for sleeping. The older building we landed in looked lots better on the inside than outside. The room was very clean. Lots of light came in both window through the blinds, making it very light for sleeping. Also, the AC was very loud, again affecting sleep quality. Bed was very low & a little difficult to get out of. Coffee pods made decent coffee; no sweeteners or creamers provided. The door to the unit had been crudely boarded over from the inside. We didn't pay a lot for the room, and we got what we paid for!

I first booked the older room and then after one not so wonderful night I paid to upgrade to the refurbished building. I did not enjoy the first night as everything was terribly old and didn't feel clean. Also i didnt feel terribly safe as the door had a gap from closing. But upon upgrading that room was much much better. I didnt actually go into the pool on this stay because the beach was a short walk away, but it looked decent. There was no room service or anything so if you would like daily cleaning or fresh towels, i might reconsider. Overall it was a decent stay.

The property is conveniently located about a mile away from the beach in a nice quiet area, I felt completely safe as a solo traveler. The room was newly renovated, had all the necessary amenities, and very clean. The staff communicated very well for my after hours check in. I like the property it was walking distance to the beach I left my car at the hotel property and walk to the beach the rooms was nice and clean and updated. I had no problem with check in and checking out the mangement even gave me excess to a spare key if mi e was lost due to the fact the office close at 6pm.I didn’t like that the office was not 24 hours but it was ok I also had a problem with my deposit I was not aware of the deposit fee before checking in of 150 dollars which should be return back to you between 1 to 3 business day after checking out of the hotel due to you not damaging the room. I check out of my room Saturday may 17, 2025 I had not yet received my deposit back that my only problem the property was lovely and I enjoy myself.

I thought this place was great! They are pretty direct and clear with you on how to do things, they have beach stuff for rent and parking is pretty cheap. Friendly staff and they are smart about the keys and having a spar one locked in case you lose yours after operation hours. Only inconvenience was theres no elevator to lift your bags or wheelchair accessiblity but not a biggie. They had everything you needed, might stay here again.

The lock box if you get there after hours. Just make sure you tell them if you need parking so they can leave a hang tag if you’re checking in after hours.

Overall pleasant experience . I know we are near the water and all but ants and tiny insects in the bathroom are gross and annoying. Still manageable for someone with experience living near the coast. Tv menu was a little difficult otherwise great clean facility.

**This issue is not advertised anywhere. This gap in the door made us nervous about bugs and worried about potential break-in or theft - especially as the safe wasn't working either. When I raised this concern with the front desk, I was told this is "what you get when you book the traditional building" and that if I wanted a door that *actually closed*, I'd need to pay to upgrade my room. I find that ridiculous. I understand cosmetic issues (i.e. peeling paint) being part of a "traditional" room, but having a door that fully closes and a working safe are fundamental issues. I was told my options were to stick with the current room, pay to upgrade (for a room with a working door), or I could go to a new hotel (and pay a cancellation fee). And i was told I had to make a decision that morning. We were staying for 10 days so paying for an upgrade was another ~$600 and going to a new hotel last minute for that long would have costed even more. I booked this trip months in advance and would not have booked this room at all if these issues were advertised. For what its worth, the staff were kind and the rest of the hotel was fine. Its clear that this is an ownership policy issue. But this issue really ruined our birthday trip and the lack of fully closing doors SHOULD be clearly articulated (if they won't fix it).

This was an amazing experience from booking to checkout. As soon as we booked it, I was immediately contacted by the property welcoming us and telling me if there was anything needed to let them know. There was constant communication up until check in. The rooms are smaller but super clean. The pool was beautiful and very clean. The people at reception were so nice and accommodating. This was a great experience and I would highly recommend this property anyone.

Was unaware there were two buildings: one remodeled and the other pink building which is rundown and unkempt. If I had known, I would have paid extra to be in remodeled section but found information provided by Expedia/ Rolo incomplete or misleading. TV was in update mode and since no one was on site to address, worked via text for probably 45 minutes with staff but still never worked well. Could hardly move in the bathroom it was so small and decided not to even try showering. Stayed one night and checked out next day at 9 as soon as office opened, two hours early since the whole experience was so terrible.

I felt like we were being watched. Other were smoking at the pool. People had glass at the pool but we couldn’t sit in pool area and drink coffee. They only had glass cup. No posted signs saying no smoking on property. Just a sign on the room no smoking in the room.. Cleaning staff was excellent!!!!

We stayed in the renovated section and the room was lovely. The coffee amenities were missing we had to go ask for them. The location was walkable to the beach and some great restaurants. We were very pleased with the location.

Overall our stay was good! When we checked in the receptionist was a bit rude, so that was not the most pleasant welcome. Then she kept repeating to be careful with their beach chairs and umbrellas in a way that was not nice. The place itself is a little farther from the beach and restaurants. I think next time we’d book something a block up. Overall I would rate it an average stay.

Clean fresh welcoming

Bed and pillows weren't comfortable and there were water bottles used in the mini fridge. The air conditioner unit was facing the side of the bed so in order to circulate the air around we had to use the ceiling fan and we ended up with stuffy nose the next day. Pictures are misleading. I'm sure they belong to the new building

Didn't care for the room. Very sparse, no coffee upon arrival, had to ask. Pool was dirty.

We arrived at 5:30pm and the office was closed. I received instructions as to get our key for our room and that was fine. I was under the impression that we had reserved an updated room but that wasn't the case. We were in the older building. Overall the room was fine but definitely did not expect the low to the floor bed,(there should be a FYI to those booking as it's challenging to get up from the bed for those with bad knees, back & hips) a board covering the door where a louvered glass window was supposed to be, paint peeling on the bathroom ceiling and several cords hanging from the TV. It took some time to figure out the TV as there are no instructions. On the positive side...good location, nice pool, AC, complete kitchen and pretty quiet. We appreciated the 2 bottles of water.

There are limited (but good) food options nearby - but uber was easy. I liked its quiet setting and mid century charm

Initially I had reserved a "traditional" which I didn't know what it meant. To me it was outdated and needed obvious repairs. The manager was very kind and switched room for a reasonable fee. It was lovely.

Great location, very helpful staff

I am very glad I found this property. It was very affordable compared to the big name hotels near my conference. I was worried it would be run down but it was very clean. There was a refrigerator, microwave and kitchen supplies which created another way to save money. Very closenthe beach. The owner and his team were so nice. Highly recommend.

Great stay for us as the location was a half block away from family we were visiting. Pool was great for catching some rays. The rooms in the remodeled/renovated building were bright and clean. There was an intermittent/sporadic ticking noise emanating from the ceiling or wall that could be annoying if you were trying to sleep but it was a minor issue.. we would definitely recommend this hotel.

I felt very safe staying at this hotel. The staff was friendly during check-in and was available for assistance during their office hour. The room was adequate and clean, and I enjoyed the coffee machine, large mini fridge and the use of beach towels. Walkable (9-20 mins) to beach, nearby cafes, restaurants and CVS drug store.

As many reviews stated, there are parts of the hotel that have not been updated. We stayed in a newly renovated building above the pool and it was very nice. Super clean and updated. The staff didn’t interact with guests much which is ok, but would be nice if they checked-in to see if we needed anything. Especially since they only clean rooms every 4 days, proactively offering coffee/water would have been nice. It was a close walk to the beach and restaurants. Pool was clean and warm. Would be nice if some room rates included parking.

I have no idea what the smell was, but it was awful! Before we headed to the cruise port, I went into the office to speak to the same lady who I’d spoken with the previous day. I let her know that the smell was still as strong and that we wouldn’t be staying at Rolo again! She headed to the room to see if she noticed anything, and she did. She said that the bleach should have taken care of the smell - it hadn’t! She said she’d tell the owner, who I never heard from, so I assume this is how they handle other complaints. Never again!!!!!
