Reviews
The hotel receives high praise for its prime beachfront location, proximity to local amenities, and friendly staff. However, several guests expressed dissatisfaction with extra fees, particularly for parking, and some found the rooms to be less than expected for the price.
- Excellent beachfront location
- Friendly and helpful staff
- Extra fees, particularly for parking
- Rooms could be improved

Before booking, I called to confirm details like beach access and parking. Upon arrival, I found out the property is split into three separate buildings, and my assigned room was across the street with no direct beach access. Furthermore, there was an unexpected daily parking fee. Although the front desk agent kindly upgraded me to a bungalow closer to the beach and agreed on a specific nightly rate ($15 extra), upon checkout, I was charged $25 per night instead. Great people, but the lack of clear communication and consistency makes the experience frustrating. I wouldn't recommend it if you value transparency.

The staff and property was amazing! I can’t wait to go back! Suzette, Eugene and all the wait staff at breakfast were #1!!
- 5/5
Great location. Step outside and it’s feet in sand!
- 5/5
This is our fifth time staying at plunge. We did a beach bungalow this time and were very impressed. We like this hotel so much we don’t even bother looking for any place else to stay when we come to LBTS .
- 5/5
The place was nice. The only problem we had was the beach was full of seaweed. So bad we couldn’t go in the water. I know this was not the resort’s fault. If I were to go again I would check that out first.
- 5/5
Rooms were spotless, great ocean front views, AC was great , Front desk , beach and bar staff were awesome
- 5/5
As always the staff was great
- 4/5
4 stars bc the hallway rugs were severely stained. They really need to redo the rugs. They were cleaned with bleach and could see the stains but aesthetically not pleasing. But otherwise place was super clean. Fun and lively at the pool, but got quiet after 9/10pm which was nice bc I am a light sleeper.

Was a great stay. Very clean. Only thing is they need new bikes lol other than that it was great.

Love this place, staff is great

Maybe fly next time but drove from Ohio.Very chill, easy access, clean room, relaxed atmosphere, cold AC, everything was close by & within walking distance. Will definitely come back.

AC worked excellent , room and bath were nice size. They could use updates bikes..

Love the location and the staff. Been coming for about 5 summers now. Miss the old look, nostalgic pics, and ice on every floor. But love to see them doing upgrades and keeping up with the times. Will deff be back

The location is great. Close to the beach and grocery store. The front desk staff is very friendly, polite, and professional. Beach chairs and umbrellas available for use. Cute coffee shot in loby. This property should be condemned. The balconies are being held up with structural pilling s tools for it not to be falling down. Honestly, I thought about checking out. The facilities are filthy dirty. The bathrooms have black mold and rust . Carpets are soiled with dirt and grime. Garbage and towels all over the property a

Reviews also said the hotel was clean but once you go into the hallways, they have disgusting stained old carpet and hot hallways that stink. The smell is similar to someone’s smelly armpit. My first room had stains on the furniture and a funny smell. They eventually checked on me and switched my room. I won’t have enough characters to talk about all the bad stuff but the good thing is the convenient location of the “resort” and the breakfast staff! Special shoutout to Cynthia. She is doing a great job. Please do yourself a favor and DO NOT BOOK HERE. After 407 for the room, 140 in “resort fees”, 75 dollars in parking in their own lot, and $200 deposit, I can’t say I got any value from this place.

To stay with my pet.

Right on the docks for fishing….. The little beach was full of seaweed and unseeable! Didn’t use the pool…..it looked fine!
- 2/5
As a local, I like to try different hotels. This one is great if you don’t plan on spending any time in your room as the walls are paper thin and you can hear every conversation. The beach is beautiful and the staff are delightful. The paper thin walls isn’t worth it though. Beds aren’t the comfiest either. They were doing construction so I woke up to banging on the room at 9am. Staff didn’t mention anything about it either.

I rented a bungalow. Staff is super friendly no matter their position at the hotel. The room was clean and decorated nicely. This is the first hotel room I’ve been able to set a thermostat and forget it; it was always comfortable. It had a mini fridge and free water bottles. The hotel wasn’t crowded and the adult pool rarely had anyone in it. This is my first stay in a bungalow and second stay this year at the hotel. Even though I spent most of my time on the beach, the bungalows are not only kid free and mostly quiet, they’re steps from the beach. Great for solo travel. Additional shops and restaurants are a short walk down the beach.

The staff was very nice but could not accommodate our need to change rooms , we paid $$ and were unable to sleep on one of the queen beds due to the stain on the mattress and sheets, also the carpet was old .
- 4/5
Good hotel, too bad we were there with a million soccer player kids! We didn't get to use the pool either day we were there. Beach was nice, towels and beach chairs included was a nice touch. Tiki bar was nice to have -great bar tenders!!! Breakfast was good. Bed was comfy but pillows were paper thin. Overall it was a good location but not much to do around the area, mostly hotels and condos. Walk to the Lauderdale by the beach intersection had a few shops and about 6 restaurants but not really much else. We took the water taxi tour for the day and that was well worth it! Explored Fort Lauderdale and along the waterway.
- 4/5
Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Umbrellas were not available for the beach on 3 of 4 days we were there. Winds were what I would consider light, 10-15 mph, and ALL other properties along the LBTS beach had their umbrellas out, but not the Plunge! Their umbrellas don’t have screws to hold them in the sand, so they won’t put them out if there is any wind!!! Bungalow king room was decent, but no view whatsoever and furniture was lacking. There was NO closet, no vanity in the bathroom, the only lamp in the room was a small handmade lamp next to the bed. Air conditioning was good, relatively quiet, but ceiling fan controls didn’t work for speed, simply on and off, luckily it was on low. Bungalow pool was very nice and peaceful. Main pool was large and very busy. Bar was really fun, but food and drinks were a bit limited and expensive, though not too bad.

They had about 15 young boys wrestling in the pool, throwing things two balls going on the adults. Had to get out of the pool and let teens takeover. I told the front desk and they said how many adults are in your room. That was their initial response. I could not wait to leave. It was not relaxing at all, and you couldn’t swim in the pool. The teens took over the pool, throwing water guns at each other big long water guns all kinds of balls. It was terrible.

Everything was very nice and it was great being right on the beach. I loved being able to go from the pool to lunch to the beach all without having to even run back up to the room. I wish they had a continental breakfast or complimentary coffee, bottled water was free, beach chairs, towels and shade all included so that was great. Would definitely stay again!
- 5/5
Great location and friendly staff. The AC was a bit underwhelming but overall a great place to stay
- 5/5
Professional service.
- 5/5
Very clean rooms, friendly staff, and plenty to do. We took a short bike ride to Lauderdale-by-the-Sea for drinks and food, which was a great experience. We also Ubered to Glitch Bar—it's a bit farther out, but definitely worth it. We spent our evenings relaxing by the pool until 10pm and really enjoyed the bar there too. We’ll definitely be staying again and bringing the kids next time!.

Our inly issue is we thought we were on the beach and we were across the street. We walked around and around before we realized the office (and our room) were located across the street. Wanted to be on the beach
- 5/5
Beach proximity and friendly staff.
- 4/5
Marie at check in was AMAZING. Humidity and cooling in the room was very good. Proximity to the beach and beach amenities were great. Beach assistant - "YoYo" was Fantastic! Coffee bar and snack/ meal selection were very nice. Having to park and walk across a busy street, with all luggage, to get to our room. No covered parking area to load/unload vehicle. Barking dogs in many rooms on all floors. Overly strict and nearly impolite staff addressing guests transiting through the pool and bar area with their cooler to access the beach. No water available in the rooms. Stark walls, no full length mirror, no microwave, and minimal seating in the rooms.
- 4/5
Hotel was clean, staff was very friendly, we did have issues accessing our room, the card reader on the door was broken and had to be fixed which is why I’m leaving 4 stars instead of 5.

The beach was unobstructed and the view breathtaking, however there was quite a bit of seaweed washing up on the shore which was an eyesore for an otherwise beautiful beach. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast at the Octopus was fantastic and Bianca, the server, was top notch! Would highly recommend this resort.
- 3/5
The vibe also leaned much more adult/party-oriented than we expected. It may be a great fit for adults looking for a more lively atmosphere, but it wasn’t quite the relaxing atmosphere we were hoping for as a family traveling with kids. We also had ongoing issues with the hot water in our room. Staff did send someone to check it, which we appreciated, but the water never really got hotter than lukewarm. After long beach days with kids, not being able to take a genuinely hot shower was definitely disappointing. The staff was friendly and the location was convenient to Lauderdale by the Sea, but overall I think the hotel feels a little different in person than how it’s portrayed online.

The resort needs some updating. Carpets were dirty and the bed frame made material had stains. No full length mirror in rooms. Parking should be included. Resort fee is high but the resort lacks amenities. Balcony doors should have screens to keep bugs out of the room. Staff was nice.

When we bent down to find our sandal - there was a used tampon on the floor near our bed! Housekeeping does not clean daily (even if you ask for bedding to be replaced - we had sand in the bed and wanted new sheets), they will leave you towels but otherwise, 4 days and had to call to have floor vacuumed and not much else is done.

The interior of the hotel is not what is advertised. In the hallway, the design is drawn on with sharpie, the flooring is torn up and stained, and there are random photos throughout the hallway taped on. One of which was a starving farmer from the Great Depression?? Seems out of touch in today's economy. The room was dirty in hidden places such as the shower head with grime on it, the lamps were rusted, and the headboard covered in stains.

Great location I had booked an oceanfront room with a balcony. When I checked in I was not told that I would not get this room due to refurbished rooms were not ready. Not my problem. When returning to the front desk then I was told that I was not getting the room I had booked. I was booked in room 124. I am disappointed that this situation was handled this way. I love this resort this was my 4th time there in a year. I will think twice about going back which is unfortunate. I did receive a credit for beverages and food plus the resort fee was waived.

Would definitely stay here again! Great location!!

This hotel is right across the street from the beach and down the street from shops and restaurants. The lobby is cute with lots of unique art work. On a busy main road on one side, and during our stay the fire alarm was triggered for an extended amount of time (couple hours?) before it was reset. A one time event, I’m sure, but unfortunate timing for our one night stay.

We stay at the building across the road. It's time to update it. It was nice 4 years ago. Rooms are getting run down. Backflip bar area was great during the day staff during the day are great. The 2 clowns at night are idiots.

Beach views are amazing. Great location. It is quiet yet close enough to walk into town

You can’t beat the location. The beach is top notch! I loved what the resort included in their daily fee - bottle waters, beach umbrella, chairs and towels. the beachfront restaurant, Backflips, had great food and drinks. Short walk to downtown. The pool looked great, but we didn’t use it in preference of the beach. The carpet was gross throughout the hotel and unfortunately there was a fake nail (not mine) on my new shower towel that completely grossed me out.

Staff great. Location great. King size suite is huge with 2 bathrooms. Amenities are nice except gym is rather pathetic. Beach staff were great getting chairs and umbrellas set up. This is an older hotel that is being updated. It has a lot of potential.

The staff was friendly the property could be a little cleaner in the hallways especially but other than that it was a nice experience
- 5/5

- 4/5
Pictures on internet deceiving . It is an older hotel that has been updated . Main building is across the street from beachfront pool and 2 other buildings. Staff was great. Nice amenities like umbrella and 2 beach chairs, pool and beachfront bar restaurant. Gym is pretty bad. Very small and can really only handle 4 ot 5 people. Location of resort is nice. We had a king suite and it was huge. 2 bathrooms and ton of space. The living room had a sofa and chair that looked like they were from the 80s. 49 dollar resort fee which is annoying but at least you do get some amenities for the added cost. I just wish resorts would.just put that cost into the price of the room.
- 5/5
Very clean room. I loved the amenities and overall enjoyed my stay very much at plunge beach resort

Carefully read description of your room. Don’t trust the pictures you see. Can be misleading.

The view was spectacular! The bar was very busy, they didn’t have any draft beer at the beach bar. I didn’t eat but everybody seemed to be enjoying their meals. Initial room had damp musty carpet and I am allergic to mold. They did give a free upgrade to a bungalow that had no carpet. Much better. - 2/5
The location was great, perfect location to restaurants and the beach. The coffee shop staff in the lobby was very loudly negative. The hotel room had small ants the entire stay which we asked be treated twice during the stay, and still found them crawling on everything. The ac had a smell which we asked be looked at. The hallway to the room was in need of cleaning most days and needed updating which they did say was scheduled. For someone not fond of scary images, the images in the hallway could be creepy and not enjoyable. The reception staff was friendly. The staff at the beach was helpful and beach amenities were great. Overall unimpressed with the follow-up on the issues we had and the ability to remedy them.
- 3.5/5

Staff across the resort was great! Beach was convenient, pool and lobby very nice. Some of carpet and chairs were shabby. Overall a good experience and fabulous location.
- 5/5
Clean and convenient to down town
- 3/5
Check in we were told that we were eligible for an upgrade on our room but none were available. Why tell us? We tried to check in at 4pm (check in time) room wasn’t ready. Ate everyday at the pool restaurant. Lynn the server was very rude I told her there was no dressing on my salad. She argued there was. Then charged me .50 cents for extra dressing. Ridiculous
- 4/5
Great location however we were notified that our beach front rooms were closed less than 12 hours prior to boarding. Tried in vain to call the listed telephone number to arrange for new accommodations. Had ti back door my way to customer service to finally get a hold of the reservations team. Vacations are meant to be fun, not suddenly thrust into customer service.

Our room didn’t over look the beach because hotel is across the street from beach. But it was a wonderful place. Great staff at the front desk. Very accommodating and the pool was heated so it was a pleasure if you like to hang by the pool. We sat in the beach every day. They will set up your umbrella and if you like chairs and give you towels. Would def recommend and stay again
- 5/5
No we couldn't see the beach, but the room was clean. The staff was extremely friendly.
- 4/5
Pool and beach fantastic. Bar and lunch great. Rooms need work. Carpeting has been being replaced for 2 years now. Disgusting!
- 5/5
held ourluggage, and could use pool and beach chairs and umbrella prior to check in which was very nice being we got off our cruise ship early a.m. A wonderful place to stay right on beach with cute tiki bar with food.

Room overlooked a parking lot

We traveled to Plunge Beach resort during a beautiful sunny week in March. The main resort building (main entrance) is set back, but a very short walk to the beach. Note: we were informed when we arrived that the beach front building had sustained damage from a broken sprinkler system so it was not able to be occupied while under renovation. The lobby area of the main building is modern and welcoming—hosting a display of local art work. There is also a great coffee shop that had fantastic coffee and breakfast sandwiches (and a super friendly and accommodating staff)!! Off of the open lobby is a bar area that hosts breakfast in the morning and drinks in the afternoon. There is a shopping center a 1 minute walk from the hotel if you need a grocery or drug store. The hotel is a 10 minute (easy) walk to all of the downtown restaurants and bars. My only complaint is that the hotel hallways and rooms looked very tired and worn. You walk from this very open, modern lobby off the elevator to hallways that have worn carpet and walls that were in desperate need of fresh paint. The rooms themselves were clean, but again somewhat worn and in need of a refresh. The hotel staff was ever present and extremely friendly! We never made it to the pool as the beach was the gold star of this resort! I would love to return back to Plunge after it completes all of its renovations and gets a refresh. With a little TLC I think this place could easily be a 5 star rating!
- 3/5
I have stayed here on multiple occasions and the last time I stayed I wrote a review telling them the property was in bad shape and needed painting/new carpet and I was told they had plans to renovate. Well, a year later....still the same tired hallways, elevator and common areas. And the rooms are just ok, very tired and NO lenghthview mirror!!! And the staff at the cafe in the lobby area was a joke - you might want to look into that! Then, to end things, I asked for a receipt because I didn't stop at the desk to check out (because I had no additional charges) and discovered they overcharged me by $80 for parking yet I DIDN'T even have a car!! It took me 5 separate phone calls just to reach someone and then I was forgotten on hold so had to call back!!! I still haven't seen the credit on my account but I will be checking!! Other than having the restaurant and cafe on site, I would not recommend staying here. The day we left my husband did see a sign that said they were renovating....not that we could see anywhere!
- 5/5
Beautiful ocean view. Every staff member was super friendly. We had a wonderful time and would stay there again!
- 5/5
We love this place. Couldn't ask for any better.
- 5/5
I ocean was visible from our room, which was on the side of the bldg not facing the water directly. But the view was pleasant.
- 5/5
No Ocean View and the Hallway Carpet needs to be replaced and freshly painted walls. Otherwise we loved the place.
- 5/5
Great location right on the beach!
- 4/5
Starting with "Jasmine at the front desk", she has the warmest smile, and offers much effort to help, thank you Jasmine! Suzette also at front desk was a dear, Kent the supervisor is a real gentlemen, AJ at the coffee shop awesome, made the best cappuccino I had every morning, and Bianca at Octopus resto. is great! The avocado toast for breakfast was very good. Eugene, the new bellman, very friendly and helpful. (Unfortunately, there was a lady with glasses, at the front desk, that was very rude, never smiled, and moody, her name might start with Mar--. A smile and being kind to guests is important if you're working front desk. No rudeness needed. The room was fine, surprised and disappointed to find no basic coffee machine? I travel quite a bit, there's always a coffee machine. And, wow, no micro-wave. Buyer beware, 'resort view' will probably be facing parked cars and a parking area.My first room had a depressing view, after 2 days a better view, more sunlight, higher floor, helped with the parking view. The team at Backflip resto on the beach is great! Food is good, happy hour fun, the wings are the best!
- 3/5
Our room overlooked a parking lot but you could see the ocean over the beach buildings. It is due to be renovated and it certainly needs it. Even though the king bedroom suite was spacious with 2 bathrooms, it lacked furniture.
- 4/5
- 3/5
Or High Noon. This place needs a total rehab.
- 5/5
We loved our stay only complaint is that it wasn’t long enough! The beach, pools, food and drinks so convenient. We would definitely return.

Expedia is a 3rd party to book with. For some reason there was an issue with my booking? Only 2 nights the hotel said. Was forced to call Expedia because front desk said it was a 3rd party problem. Thankfully, Susette answered and handled the mishap !!! Being told I don’t have a room for 7 of my 9 nights was very stressful. Disability concerns - you need to talk to someone b4 u book to make sure everything is set…. And your not sent to a bungalow w stairs etc

Didn’t get our room until 7:30 pm the night of our check in. Claimed they were having issues with the new computer system. Paid for a king bed and got 2 queens. They did waive the resort fees, but it has gone down the last couple years. Rooms need a major facelift too.

Something different than the average hotel. Enjoyed the little “sip and paint for Valentine’s Day.

- 4/5
The beach is beautiful. The rooms are clean; it is posted that the common areas are scheduled for renovations. I found the staff to be very friendly.
- 3/5
The staff was very courteous and the room was cleanish. The room was carpeted and it just seemed moist the entire stay. There were limited outlets for our group of 4. I slept next to the a/c unit and there was no way to adjust the vent. The air blew on me all night long - otherwise it would've been a sauna in the room. The location was nice - just a walk across the street to the beach.
- 3/5
Hotel seemed run down and needs to be updated
- 5/5
We love Plunge Beach Resort, have stayed several times before and this trip was another wonderful trip. The staff is always very nice, courteous and helpful. Our suite was beautiful and clean with an amazing view. The amenities make this such an easy, effortless vacation. Big shoutout to Lynn, Grego, Cindy, Brian and Lewis at Backflip for keeping us hydrated all week! 😊 Thank you so much Plunge Staff we can't wait for our next visit. ❤️

The room was ok the locations was awesome and the staff was so amazing I will definitely be back!!
- 5/5
The staff was amazing and the place had a great vibe! Very convenient for both beach and pool.
- 4/5
The hotel shows a lot of years over. The elevator is very slow
- 5/5
The rule was spotless, the location is sublime. The pool is wonderful. The beach is magnificent. The hallways need improvement very dated. I am odd décor but there was a sign saying that they were going to update them. I would say this resort is a hidden treasure hidden
- 4/5
Clean room. Great access to beach.
- 1/5
Staff is rude. In 3 days I haven’t encountered anyone who seemed to enjoy working there. We went to their cafe for breakfast and the woman who works there was so nasty that I drove to other places for breakfast for the rest of the stay. Also by 8 am all the breakfast food was sold out. Restaurant food was gross. The salad didn’t come with dressing. Room was ok. Needs renovations. Hallway carpeting is gross. Bathroom smelled. No microwave on the premise. No laundry. The backflip cafe food is good, staff is rude. The only acceptable interaction was the towel guy by the beach. It was my second stay here and I had a great experience a few years ago, but the hotel has gone downhill in appearance, staff, complete ripoff in extra charges. I will never go back. You can stay for half the price at a low budget Chain hotel for a much more comfortable experience. Mattress was hard and lumpy. How they are operating at this level is shocking. One of their elevators was constantly broken, and the other one is a long walk and you have to compete with the cleaning services. Getting to our room at the 5th floor took 20 minutes sometimes.
- 3/5
Staff was very courteous. Rooms need upgrading although they were very clean.
- 5/5
Great staff great location
- 5/5
I think what makes this a great stay is the people who work here. So customer service orientated. The hotel is one not a five star but who needs that for a beach vacation! Two chairs and an umbrella on the beach everyday. Restaurant and bar service. Feels like a family old time Florida resort. Breakfast great. Walkable areas to downtown area. Safe!!! I would stay here alone. Clean room. As soon as you walk in you are greeted with kindness. A great place to slow down for a few days.
- 5/5
Everything at the plunge is always great. This was our seventh time staying there and the staff (especially Suzette at the front desk) is always friendly always helpful. We stay in a suite every time and it’s worth the money, you can walk to town and honestlyeverything about Lauderdale by the sea is great! N
- 4/5
A few water bugs in room
- 4/5
Friendly staff.
- 4/5
Restaurant was good.
- 4/5
Staff friendly, pool was heated, multiple resort events during stay.
- 4/5
The only drawback was no elevator. We had to drag luggage up and down from 2nd floor.
- 4/5
Clean rooms, nice staff
- 5/5
Enjoyed the room, nice and large pool and beach great .
- 5/5
Conveniently located , rooms are clean. However trying to reach them by phone, email or text left a lot to be desired
- 4/5
Excellent food and beverages close to the beach. Stayed overnight before departing on a cruise. The staff were helpful and friendly but the accommodations were a bit basic for the price.
- 4/5
Staff was very friendly and courteous. We stayed on 5th floor of the main building. The carpet and walls were tired and in need of replacement/updates. A small sign was on the floor indicating that they planned to do updates, but that sign could have been there for months or years to placate customers. Don't put a sign out - just get it done. Room was plain, but clean. Room cleaning was good.
- 3/5
We were disappointed in our 1BR suite. The furniture in our room was very dirty and stained. Also, there was only one lamp in the sitting room and it was extremely dark. It was an expensive room and not in any way worth the money we paid. The hallways were also very dark with extremely dirty carpeting. Very disappointed.
- 3/5
Mediocre overboard
- 5/5
Perfect everything
- 4/5
It’s a great location. Clean. Staff is wonderful.
- 5/5
Location and atmosphere.
- 3/5
It wasn’t my favorite place but it served fine for the night. The beach staff were wonderful though. Some of the front desk staff were stuffy. Place is cute but halls are old looking .
- 3/5
The carpet in the hallways were disgusting. Along with the slapped on pictures. Elevator is very slow. Bar was not open while we were there. Coffee shop close at 1 pm. Even thou web page said both were open.
- 5/5
We had a great stay! The location for the pool wnd beach was so convenient!
- 5/5
Great location and wonderful service!
- 2/5
Yes, you pay an additional $75 each day! on top of what Expedia says. The Hallway carpet looks like someone puked on it every 5 feet, disgusting. Stains everywhere on that Hallway carpet. The shower took forever to get hot, and the knob used for the turning of the temp popped off, so had to keep popping it back on to use it. To too it off, someone brought their dog there and it barked allllll nighhhht looooong. We called and complained and said we wanted a credit and they said someone would be in contact with us and it has yet to happen. Pros: You do have access to the beach. The other staff there were extremely friendly, and the towels, rooms, and beach were super clean. Pool was clean (just a little too small and wasn’t heated. Way too cold.) When you stay at the pool, the resort staff give you free popsicles so that was a cool surprise!
- 5/5
Nice place, on the beach, Tiki bar, pools, great time
- 5/5
We had a wonderful stay. The staff was amazing and the rooms were always very clean. We will definitely stay here again.

Excellent beach front bungalows! Great room service great free parking great bars and restaurants great beach chairs and umbrellas all set up for the guest. Overall an excellent run property within a 15 min beach walk to the main action downtown Lauderdale by the Sea. CVS $1.25 store food market across the street 1 min walk. Book a bungalow you won’t regret it!
- 5/5
Beautiful location! The room was clean. The staff was very nice and professional. Great beach access.
- 5/5
Our stay was great! Staff was amazing and we really enjoyed the bar and easy access to the beach.
- 4/5
- 5/5
There’s also a cafe in the lobby. If I was the type to stay at the same places, I would definitely come again!!! I loved everything! Also as an Expedia VIP member, I received 2 free drinks upon arrival AND I was granted a before noon early as heck check in. I was really grateful for that!
- 3/5
Room was adequate. Tiny little bugs everywhere.
- 5/5
- 4/5

- 2/5
The hotel was under renovation , the hallway was not clean , the walls cover with plastic staff, the location is the ideal place but you didn’t let’s know about the renovation when I booked the room . I ‘m ver desapo

Book an oceanfront and was told there was a leak so we had to stay in a different building. Very disappointing.
- 4/5
It was confusing an doing but they are super nice
- 5/5
- 1/5
The staff was extremely rude and inconsiderate. We were charged a daily fee for parking and a resort fee. What a ripoff. I was never told about those charges in advance. I was quoted a price that wasn't even close. I will never use Hotels.com again and I will absolutely never stay at that crappy hotel again ever.
- 5/5
Always an amazing time at the plunge and staff always friendly
- 5/5
The staff at both the hotel and the beach cafe is wonderful! The 5 story bldg. is in need of updating. The hallway carpet is torn and the walls need new paint. THe beachside , adult only rooms were FABULOUS. I am glad we changed rooms! Thanks so much
- 1/5
Mold - tons of mold. Wasn’t evident at first except our daughter kept sneezing. Then at night the AC unit which they claimed was new kept cycling and filling the room with spores. We got so sick , coughing. Smelly clothes , others commented when we met friends for dinner. We then were transferred to another room which seemed ok, then we started to get sick again. Room was waterlogged. Damaged soaked furniture, moldy mattress. Walls water damaged. Completely unsafe & toxic. There were mold remediation companies working on one of the buildings and they mentioned to us how terrible the condition of the building we were in was. 3 trailers full of moldy drywall sat next to the pool with winds blowing. Staff was nice but they are limited to how they can help due to poor ownership and minimal upkeep making the hotel very unsafe c

- 5/5
We Loved Plunge Beach. Right in front of a bus stop and a Publix
- 5/5
This is a place where everyone is so friendly and gets to know you. Suzette at the front desk is wonderful. If I had a business I would have her there. Nothing is too much and she is so friendly. Everything you need is there. The wings are so good at backflip
- 5/5
We loved the decor - original artwork and eclectic vibe!
- 5/5
Outstanding place to stay.

Had a very bad experience had to strip the bedding down because of bed bugs didn't want to stay but it was so late and I had to wake up early for a meeting woke up in the morning with a rash on my neck my shoulders and my ankles from being bitten
- 5/5
Everything you need is right there, including grocery stores, shops, and restaurants. The pool and the beach are literally right outside the lobby doors. The beachfront room and balcony was well worth the money.
- 4/5
Great location!

- 5/5
Clean and safe. They do not charge for chairs, but there is a resort fee of over $40 so you do end up paying for them. The weather was bad and we never used a chair or umbrella and still paid the fee. Unsure why you get charged if you don’t use anything.
- 5/5
Clean, accommodating friendly staff, great amenities. Very good food, bar, breakfast, premium coffee on site. Grocery store and many food other options in walking distance.
- 3/5
I killed 2 bugs Floor was cold One light did not work
- 5/5
Very nice place to stay
- 5/5
Great staff and amenities! The resort fee included everything one could need for a perfect beach trip. Walking out to the beach, there were staff to give you a towel and ask where you would like chairs and an umbrella setup. There were free bikes to explore the town, though the Main Street is only 0.5 miles from the resort making for a perfect evening walk on a quiet street.
- 5/5
Hotel was clean. Staff were Super friendly - property wad excelent.
- 4/5
The room was very clean, the staff was very friendly
- 5/5
Great staff and amenities
- 5/5
The location is great. There’s two separate buildings or maybe three one is not right on the beach and that is where the office is however, it’s right at the beach. We will definitely stay there again.
- 5/5
Great location. Staff was great. Rooms can use some updating but wouldn’t stop me from coming back. It was a great stay.

- 4/5
Room was nice and clean. Staff were very friendly.
- 5/5
Courteous, friendly staff. Clean, comfortable room. Had a problem with no hot water which was fixed quickly
- 5/5
Staff friendly , great location .. come to have breakfast, coffee and a beach bar / restaurant on property
- 3/5
The resort fees and parking fees were a surprise and a shady, misleading way to make the costs per night appear much lower than what they actually are.
- 5/5
We love our stays at Plunge and hope to return every November for a pre Thanksgiving break!
- 5/5
It was clean, the air conditioner did leak and make funny noises but the convenience of the hotel and location was great and the restraunt there was really good
- 3/5
Old property only good as a beach access over priced for non ocean front rooms

My family had a great time!
- 5/5
We’ll be back in Mar 2026 too. Everyone we’ve referred are very satisfied and thought if you liked a walk past their 80 person pool bar to a few feet to your own beach chairs and umbrella delivered to where you want for $20 ! It’s the best value for a day week . Their adults only bungalows have their on quit pools. Moly best beach vibes , morning treats in a Starbucs in lobby. A five min walk is a five unit shopping mall with a PUBLIC MARKRT. Awesome tourist foods and healthy prepared meals and wines. Restaurant in the lobby is famous for excellent breakfasts. We traveled a lot. The plunge always beats anyplace when you just gotta have that kick back feeling. Enjoy
- 5/5
My 4th time staying at the Plunge. Great time & Great hotel…Hoping to be back again soon!
- 4/5
Room was very clean and facilities are well kept , staff was good always helpful if needed ,pool was nice , good place to stay

- 5/5
The hotel was amazing from check in with Shashana who greeted us as soon as we came into the hotel help us with checking in and make sure our stay was going well through our time at the plunge. Juile, Jennifer and Miquel was amazing down at the bar area and beach. They always had a smile and was helpful with helping us select the best food and drinks. Suzette was another person at the front desk who was always welcoming and made sure we were okay. I would recommend this hotel hand down to everyone. Nice location pool, beach and amazing food and drink blocks away form local entertainment and fun. We had a blast. Hotel staff overall was amazing and the rooms and hotel stayed cleaned and smelling great. Housekeeping cleaned room every day we did not have to call service desk for anything. ❤️❤️❤️see ya all our next trip to Ft. Lauderdale.

The staff is great, especially Kent, Suzette and Miguel. I wish I remembered the beach services guys. They do a great job. Great amenities on the ocean. We’ve been here many times and we’ll keep coming back.
- 5/5
We had an outstanding stay and can’t wait to go back!
- 5/5
Great place to stay. The location is perfect.
- 4/5
The Plunge Beach Resort is tucked away in a quieter part of Ft. Lauderdale. An older hotel, it sits right on the beach and has everything you need. Nice pool, good food, oceanfront bar, beach lounge chairs and towels. Staff were friendly and great! Rooms are clean. There is a Publix grocery store across the street as well as restaurants and a Dunkin’ Donuts.
- 3/5
Average rooms , good location within a half mile walk about a lot of restaurants and shops. friendly staff. Good bang for the buck.
- 5/5
few yearsjoy to see evern
- 5/5
This is a wonderful hotel, a great place for getting away. There’s plenty to do in the area and the beach is right there.
- 5/5
Amazing place to stay! Near everything you can imagine and great art everywhere!
- 5/5
The costumers service is very good
- 3/5
I wish you could pay cash when dining or having a drink . Everything needed to be put on card
- 5/5
Me encantó el hotel la attention muy buena julio del front desk muy servicial sin duda alguna volveremos
- 5/5
The location is excellent. Staff is very friendly and the property is well maintained. Rooms are very clean. I booked ocean front view room, and it was stunning. Decks are a little small, but we spent most of our time at the beach or the pool.
- 5/5
The staff were very professional and helpful. The room was clean. You have direct beach access. Very relaxing and peaceful atmosphere.
- 5/5
The property was clean. We opted for the bungalow which has its private pool. Definitely worth the money.
- 5/5
Location was excellent! Loved the bungalow adult only pool.
- 4/5
- 5/5
Every member of the staff from the front desk to the backflip bar were incredible. Very helpful and the kindest of folks
- 4/5
The location couldn’t be better, right on a beautiful, quiet stretch of beach and only a 10-minute walk from the restaurants and pier in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. The only downside was the beach bar/restaurant, where the drinks were poor, service was slow, and prices didn’t match the quality. The lobby coffee shop also disappointed given the price for “specialty coffee.” Overall, a great beachfront stay with charm, comfort, and wonderful staff, just skip the food and drinks.
- 5/5
Clean room comfortable bed with plenty of pillows
- 3/5
Our room was ready when we got there but they wouldn’t let us check into the room before check in time without paying an $49.50 early entry fee. The room smelled like mold & the carpet was damp. Our clothes that we hung in the closet felt damp the next morning & the bathroom floor looked like it hadn’t been cleaned. Way too pricey for the condition of the resort.
- 5/5
So strange to me that this place has such great reviews.. while the staff is amazing, the rooms themselves and hallways and elevators and just very rundown. The art in the hallways is literally hand drawn with sharpies.. or perhaps a magazine picture modgepodged with a frame sharpied around it? The decor needs a major overhaul. The pool is beautiful and the beachside bar is great. I cannot say enough about the attentiveness of the beach staff. We had a beachfront room so our view was great as well.. just mainly the lobby and halls and rooms need a redo but the staff and pool and food in the octopus restaurant go above and beyond.
- 5/5
Everything was amazing

We love Plunge Resort at Lauderdale by the Sea. It is such a peaceful place yet it has a party vibe that we enjoy. A mixture of relaxation and enjoyment together. The staff is nice and helpful, the restaurants are great and the drinks are fabulous.

Great place staff at the backflip were awesome!
- 5/5
Very nice facility the service was excellent

I’ve been coming to plunge for the last 6 years. Always a pleasure to stay here and it’s always an amazing time. Very clean rooms. The area is very safe and walkable. It’s family friendly but also has adult only options. I will be back again!

Overall it was a great hotel in regards to service and hospitality. Average overall look, very quiet and enjoyable. The beach was amazing.
- 4/5
Beautiful property , stated in a front beach room with gorgeous views of the ocean
- 5/5
It was fabulous

Unfortunately, our original room had no hot water, and we weren’t made aware of this until the next day, after we had already gone through cold showers. Once the issue was acknowledged, we were moved to another building where hot water was available, but the new room did not have the same pool access as our original booking, which was a bit disappointing. The room itself was fine, but nothing particularly special. With a little more attention to communication and upkeep, the experience could have been much smoother.

Upon entering the plunge you instantly realize that this is a motel and not a resort, the staff at the front desk was rude and aggressive. Once we got through the check in process they made us aware that there are parking fees to park your car in the driveway next door. 25$ a day. The staff said if I booked direct instead of through Expedia it would have been 10$ a night. We booked there king room ocean view on the 5th fl. This is a motel charging resort rates the room had old carpeted floors with outdated furniture the balcony was rickety. The walls were freshly painted which were nice expect they never took down any of the paintings on the wall and painted around them it looked trashy and unkept. Well we came for the beach so I took my wife and my 3 yr old down to beach to make the best of the next 4 days. We arrive at the beach they have a volleyball net and other games set up. As we are walking through we notice trash in all the grassy areas in the beach in front of the hotel. Cigarette butts strewn throughout the beach. I couldn’t enjoy the beach because I was to busy chasing my kid around trying to keep him away from the garbage and cigarette butts. So now that we know what the beach is like we go check out the pool. The trash bins are full to the top with garbage on the ground. We walk past the bar and the bartender is throwing the limes lemons and any other drink condiments out onto the beach in the walkway. Waste of money

This was a perfect stay from the moment I walked through the door. I arrived at 10am, hoping to drop my bags and change for the beach before my 4pm check-in. They let me check in 6 hours early!!!! No fee. I didn’t even have to ask. Then I sat down to an absolutely delicious breakfast served by the delightful Cynthia, before settling into my big fluffy bed for a much needed nap after my 6am flight. It just kept getting better from there. The entire staff is unbelievably warm, friendly, and genuine. The food was excellent, and the accommodations on the beach (complimentary lounge chairs, towels, umbrellas, side tables and sunscreen all set up for you by a friendly beach attendant) made my time on their gorgeous beach feel totally luxurious. The beach bar and pool area were equally fabulous. I also really enjoyed Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. It’s laidback, unpretentious, quiet, and exactly what I was looking for in a getaway. I can’t say enough about this gem of a resort and I cannot wait to return.

Restaurants are walkable

The resort was pretty nice, the rooms were good, with a great view in the ocean view room. I wished the inside bar was open, the bar by the pool had great staffing, but the drinks were a little overpriced. The food however was really good. Had a great stay here.

Good location and free bike rental! Our room smelled like mildew and ended up giving us both a stuffy nose, but it was clean and we were only staying one night so we didn’t request another room.
- 3/5
For the price older Hotel expected different.
- 2/5
Everything cost extra here. More than one guest….pay more. Want to park a car…..pay more. “Resort fee”…..pay more.

Great breakfast space and menu. . Pillows seemed to slip in a gap between the headboard and the mattress. Beds were very comfy though. Staff was great, friendly!
- 4/5
No ice machine on any of the floors in our building. Had to go to the bar to fill our cups with ice. Staff were pleasant and extremely pleasant.
- 5/5
This is our third time staying at this hotel. Very friendly service, very comfortable beds, and great drinks at the bar. We really enjoyed our stay. The bars are within walking distance, and Pompano Beach is a 15-minute bike ride away. We highly recommend it!
- 4/5
I I stayed last Friday and Saturday at plunge resort unfortunately there were German cockroaches in our room the first night they did move us to another room but I feel I should be reimbursed for the resort fees or some part of this vacation.. I took the risk of bringing roaches into my home and that's not what vacation is supposed to be about
- 5/5
Good
- 2/5
We love the property and location. This was our second stay. This room was filthy and unkept.
- 1/5
Young guy at front desk as very rude. I have my key back and left because of him. Still waiting on getting my money back.
- 5/5
Everything was very good, the workers were very professional and helpful, the women in the lobby were very friendly, I will return
- 2/5
The pool was very nice and inviting, loved the beachside restaurant/bar. Good location. Check in staff wasn’t friendly at all. However the hotel is old and worn, desperately needs updating. No coffee makers in the rooms, you have to go to the on-site restaurant and it isn’t free! Everything is Ala cart! The worst part is the resort fee is $49 a night and parking is $25 a night! So what ever you see on the room prices..,. Just add $75 per night! I won’t be back.
- 5/5
We had an amazing time and will be back!
- 5/5
Be aware of the $44 daily resort fee and $25 daily parking fee.
- 3/5
maintenance problem with beach front room. Keifer VERY helpful. Offered a bungalow or a 2 bedroom suite for same price, breakfast free ticket, free parking, bottled water, didn't have to pay resort fee. We were so disappointed about not having beach front room, but Keifer went overboard to make our trip enjoyable. Our suite was two buildings back from the beach. Thanks, Keifer. Say safe......

I have been staying at Plunge for years and a few times a year ! Please start renovating as the place is looking tired and in need of some updating and upgrading . Staff always pleasant and super convenient. Also the food at the backflip bar has gone downhill. A long wait for mediocre food . Very sad to see this . Otherwise everything else is great
- 5/5
Great place and comfortable vibes.
- 5/5
I love the beach front, pool and free bicycles. Close to shopping and restaurants.. had a great view from the room as well this trip. The breakfast and bloody Mary’s are the best in town like the sign says. Can’t wait to go back!!!
- 5/5
Excellent service!
- 1/5
Worst experience of my life.
- 4/5
Needs to upgrade: the AC in the gym didn't work; the elevator wall paint needed repair; we heard music from the walkway outside late at night...not good. The staff was friendly. The prices and quality at the coffee shop and restaurant were affordable and great. The pool was clean and beautiful. The staff at the beach was good.
- 5/5
Great Resort. Parking is too expensive.
- 5/5
Extremely clean and friendly.
- 5/5
I traveled with 3 teenagers and they, along with myself enjoyed our stay. We loved the pool, the bar had really good food and service. There was signs on our floor that new carpet and paint were being updated, which were a little dated. Our room was very clean and we had a beautiful view of the ocean.
- 4/5
Simple and beautiful

All minor things that make the stay a bit ...

My wife and I have been to the Plunge a few years ago and I must report that the service has gone down dramatically. The staff at the beach bar needs to be trained better in customer service skills, and their attitude towards the customer needs a drastic improvement. If you want to be waited on and receive food in a timely manner do not sit at any of the tables that surround the bar, because all of the servers avoid you as if you were a bother to them. They also have a happy hour daily from 4:00-6:00PM and never give you the happy hour menu unless you ask. There was a Luau advertised on flyer's that they had placed around the resort taking place on Saturday from 3:00-6:00PM with drink and food specials being offered. When my wife and I went and sat down at one of the tables it took more than 15 minutes before a server came over to us and handed us a menu, and when I questioned what the specials were for the Luau she rolled her eyes and went back and brought us the separate specials menu. After that she ignored us and kept making drinks for other customers, until another 15 minutes went by before another server came over and took our order. We also noticed other unhappy customers having to get up from their tables and walk to the bar for service. The saving grace of our vacation came from the phenomenal service that was given from the staff who set you up on the beach every morning with lounge chairs and an umbrella. The housekeeping crew was also top notch, and Julio

It was me, my wife and two kids one is 7 and the other is 5. They really enjoy the pool and having the beach just steps away is a huge plus. Excellent place for kids and very family friendly. This place is a gem and I’m sure it will continue to be a destination for many.
- 1/5
buildings not just one. I paid a very high price to be on the beach not across the street. The hallways are filthy. Expensive to park and an additional resort fee!!
- 5/5
Definitely recommend staying in the future.
- 4/5
We agreed the the chairs in bar and restaurant are not very comfortable. Beach Bar staff was amazing, interactive and friendly, as were all of the staff. I felt a little bad about the many plastic cups that were being used. It makes sense not to have glasses at the beach bar, but I wonder if there is a more environmentally conscious option? Wouldn’t hesitate to book again.
- 5/5
The room was better than expeted. Very clean hotel. The staff super nice and polite. We are definitely going back there. But ibwould

Everyone is very friendly but the rain didn’t let us enjoy everything the hotel offered.
- 5/5
Really enjoyed our stay! Very relaxing atmosphere and staff was super.
- 5/5
Very clean, amazing staff, beautiful beach.
- 5/5
This place is great ! Very conveniente to the beach, chairs and umbrella included and very close to restaurants and night entertainment!
- 3/5
Unfortunately, management did not have a process in place to help manage the large amount of families with children there for sporting competitions. The children went unsupervised causing disruptions to other guests who were trying to enjoy the amenities, meals at the hotel or just trying to get to their rooms. Due to the holiday weekend, the hotel was very crowded. There was an altercation at the pool that resulted in management shutting it down, the guests asked to leave and the authorities to be called to the scene. This started because children were left unsupervised running around knocking and pushing guests.
- 5/5
Wonderful stay at Plunge. The staff was great. The beach bar has amazing food, and the people who work there are great!
- 5/5
Nice staff , clean , nice pool , perfect access for the beach , everything was great.👍
- 3/5
It was crowded and noisy.
- 5/5
I’ve been going to this resort for almost 10 years now. I look forward to my trip every year. The service and accommodations are just right!
- 4/5
The property was good overall. The beach is beautiful and we loved that there was food and beverage service right on the beach! It is a very walkable area with lots of dining and shopping options. The staff were very friendly although the housekeeping in our room was a lacking. Also, it is an older hotel that is getting a "refresh" this summer which will definitely improve the look of the hotel.
- 5/5
We have never been to a better place for a family vacation!!! Staff and everything was the absolute best. Just positive words for this accommodation. Already planning our next trip! A place where kids and adults can have a blast!!
- 3/5
We like the location. We were not pleased with the oceanfront first floor room as there were so many weeds, etc. growing your view is not much. We would have preferred to have been on a higher floor. There was a big stain on the bed (gross). Some of the sheets had stains also. We decided not to change rooms because we had already put everything away. However, the bed stain was bad enough that the room should not have been rented until it was fixed or replaced. The employees at this hotel are very nice. However, we will likely try another hotel next time.

Should be a coffee machine in The room

Closeness to the beach is great, property and rooms seems to be not well maintained.

We had a very nice day, and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. They said that they would be in the process of doing some updates very soon too. Can't wait to go back!

We enjoyed our stay! Great location!!
- 5/5
This place is perfect for a relax getaway. You can have your own drinks and food or use their restaurant where the food is really good with good price.
- 5/5
Liked that the hotel offered free bikes and beach lounge chairs/umbrellas - very friendly staff they truly seemed to love their jobs - property showing its age - glad to see that they plan renovation on the buildings and room - I would definitely come back
- 5/5
This was our second stay at Plunge and we love everything about it. It’s the perfect laid back beach vibe with access to a ton of great bars and restaurants under a mile away. Walkable and also a great little golf cart service for rides. The resort is very clean and comfortable. The pool is as well. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Beach access couldn’t be easier and the pool bar has delicious food and drink options at affordable prices. Breakfast in the lobby is also affordable and delicious. Highly recommend and can’t wait to return.
- 5/5
Great place. Stayed in the Bungalow section right on the beach. Loved that you could go to your room from beach, pool or beach bar.
- 5/5
I loved the service and quality of the pool, bar and beach area. I traveled with my children and they had a fantastic time!
- 5/5
Perfect location and friendly staff

Loved our stay at this property. We got an upgrade but hard to say if it was worth it as we paid for added parking that we didn’t use and room was not exactly what I expected. Staff was excellent and beach bar was great!
