    Staff was helpful at check in and during our stay. Hotel was within walking distance of many restaurants and shopping. Likes the parking structure, although a little tight on space size and mobility of larger vehicles it served the need well. Checking in and out easy and quick. Breakfast was good and hot. Room was very spacious and clean.

    Your experience at this hotel will 100% depend on the room you get. The staff is great, free shuttle to/from the airport, cheap shuttle to/from the cruise port. Free breakfast is great; pancakes, omelets, bacon, turkey sausage, etc. The rooms are updated and “clean”. I’ve stayed here a few times; great room one time, Another time the hot water never got hot, it was “not cold “ at best. Another time the room smelled so strongly of mildew that my eyes watered. It’s good for an overnight stay but you may have to request a different room based on the issues you encounter.

    We liked everything about this property. It was SO clean. The beds & pillows were very comfortable. The staff was amazing. Location was amazing. Close to the airport and the cruise terminal. They even offer a shuttle to the cruise terminal and the airport which we found convenient. I can't say enough good things about this property. If we're cruising out of fort lauderdale again, there's no other choice. Highly recommend Nothing. We loved everything

    The location was great! The bathroom floor was dirty and clearly needed mopping. For those with early flights, breakfast could have been served at 6am instead of 6:30. I had to leave for my flight at 6 without breakfast, so the paid accommodation was wasted.

    Or after long hours working and coming late at night my room door wouldn't open it will glitch and I would have to go back downstairs just to get my key fix When I told the man at the front desk his response was it happens to everyone the stuff glitch a lot.     Property is conveniently located near Port Everglades. It has shuttle service to and from the airport. A shuttle service at a cost to the port. The fitness center is nice but needs a deep cleaning. Breakfast is good and the pool is amazing as it is outdoors and located on the 4th floor. Overall, an excellent bang for your buck

    I typically will book a Holiday Inn Express without worries knowing at minimum it will be clean. This one was the exception. We were only staying 3 nights so we decided to just deal. When you first walk in you're hit with the overwhelming scent of highly perfumed cleaning products so thick that it left a sticky film on everything. The air felt damp and musty in the rooms, the carpets were so gross I didnt want to walk on them without shoes so I made a path with towels. I bought lysol wipes so I could at least make it feel somewhat clean. I wiped down the dresser and with one swipe the wipe was gray. I don't even want to tell you what was on the headboard. After one really rough night of sleep, while working that afternoon the fire alarm started going off intermittently for about an hour or two. Of course not their fault but after the sleep quality and the layer of filth on everything we had had enough and booked another hotel for the rest of our stay. While working with Expedia on cancellation and a refund the manager Tiffany was dishonest about the series of events and refused to refund for that night because we checked out after 7 when we left before 630. She also claimed that the fire alarm only went off for a minute which is absolutely untrue. All in all just a really unfortunate experience.

    Breakfast and room were very simple and what you would expect. Staff here are absolutely wonderful though! They have a separate locked Luggage room that you can use to store your items if your room isn't available yet (we got off our cruise early AM and room wasn't ready until PM as expected). They helped our group coordinate getting from the airport to the hotel, then from hotel to the cruise ship. Then back from ship, and again from hotel to airport. All incredibly seamless! If I didn't have a hurt ankle I would not have paid for the shuttle to the cruise, because the walk is simple and beautiful, but it was really great that it was an option and the staff made it easy to book and use. Absolutely will stay here again before and after our next cruise!

The extended check out time and ability to store luggage and use the facilities after check out was super helpful. Karen and Bonnie provided a delicious and flavorful breakfast with so many options. I particularly enjoyed the egg white and vegetable omelette and the sausage gravy. The King bed was so comfortable and the varied lighting options in the room was a level up compared to other hotels. I would return always when I have the opportunity.

    The hotel is misrepresented on the hotels.com site, the interior felt like a prison and had a musty smell. Rooms were stuffy with the AC not functioning properly. Portions of the room were in disrepair and again the room had a musty smell. We walked in and walked out immediately and booked rooms in a different property. Do not recommend.

    Walking distance to the water taxi and a few small shopping centers and restaurants. Had a shuttle from the airport and access to an independent shuttle to the cruise port. The hot breakfast added to the value. Staff was excellent - everyone we encountered. Location not ideal for a beachy feel. It would be better to have a car if you're staying here.

I booked for the wrong date and tried every method to get Expedia and/or the hotel to change the date of the booking but no matter what I tried, they would have forced me to pay a cancellation fee just to change the date. The staff of this hotel that answered my calls (and Expedia's) were some of the rudest staff I have ever encountered. I'm sure my one night booking means nothing to them, and being a budget hotel close to the Fort Lauderdale Cruise Ports means they can get away with giving you the bare minimum of their time and effort.

    I drove 4 hours after work and showed up at 930 pm exhausted and ready to sleep. Called the number to check in since staff doesn’t stay at night. Got the code and walked into my room. It was used. I never complain about dirty stuff like scuffs or dust and whatnot. But the blankets and pillows were messed up all over the bed where someone had been sleeping. Empty pizza box. Used towels on the floor. Empty water bottles and trash. They gave me a used room. I called back to kindly and extremely calmly explain and ask if I could get another room. Lady on the phone was not even phased or bothered that the room was used. She just said “we don’t have any other rooms. Maybe you can find something somewhere else. Got back on Expedia and booked a room for double the price of what I’d already paid. Drove to the new motel. The lady at the front desk of the second motel said she was the one who had just talked to me and the the two hotels are sister properties. Ideally, she should have offered me a room there free when I first called. But she didn’t even bother to tell me over the phone that they had a room available that I could even pay for. Spring break week, car show week. Limited lodging options. And she was too lazy and selfish to even let me know over the phone “I’m so sorry your room wasn’t ready there. There’s no more rooms at that location, but I’m at a sister property and we do have availability .” I was pleasant the entire time and she just couldn’t be bothered. Lazy

But instead of going from the 2nd floor to the 4th floor where they were staying we had to go down to main floor walk through the lobby back into an elevator up to the 4th floor where the rest of our family was staying. In all, I feel like we were ripped off. For the price we paid one of these issues would have been enough. But this was over the top worst hotel experience I think I have ever had. I must say the pool was very nice and clean.

    The location is great. The sink in our room only had sporadic water - several times we turned on the tap and no water came out. The bed was ridiculously soft. The worst however was trying to sleep with the air conditioning - it sounded like it was powered by a jet engine. Even with noise canceling headphones in it was impossible to sleep. Then there was the humming that we thought was from a laundry room next door, but it was a regular room. Maybe it was from their air conditioner. Pluses - great blackout curtains and the staff were lovely.

    ⸻ Review of Holiday Inn Express Fort Lauderdale Overall, we had a pleasant stay at Holiday Inn Express Fort Lauderdale. The staff at check-in were very friendly and welcoming, which made for a great first impression. Our room was clean and comfortable, and since this was just a one-night stay before boarding our cruise, it met our needs perfectly. The breakfast the following morning was also very good, with a great selection of options to choose from. Unfortunately, our experience was marred by the lack of assistance we received after checkout. Once we had boarded our cruise, I realized that I had left a jacket in the closet of our room. I immediately contacted the front desk but was hung up on multiple times and felt dismissed when trying to explain the situation. When I finally got through again around 4pm, I was told that the jacket was not in the closet. We are confused and disappointed, as the jacket was definitely left there. The lack of helpfulness in resolving the issue significantly impacted our overall impression of the hotel. While the stay itself was comfortable, the poor follow-up service left us with a negative final experience.

    Everything was good and met expectations. We arrived 3 hours before check-in time and room was ready an we were able to go immediately to the room. Hotel shuttle from airport was also great. I called and was told 20-45 minutes on the wait. 5 minutes later, the shuttle was there. He said he turned around and came back since he was just leaving on an earlier pick-up.

    Room was ok but the front staff was not very good. We had a fire alarm go off in the middle of the night. When we went out of the building the staff said that there was not a problem? When fire dept. showed up the front desk worker did not know how to open the door where the fire panel was located. Fire dept said there was no danger and we could go back in. No explanation as to why

    The heater/air conditioner only blew COLD air out. Yes, we had it on heat. Cold air was even coming through wall by the unit. We were given sheets to put over it. Did not help! Maintenance Supervisor came and looked at it and said she would have maintenance look at it. Too late. We were checking out. Room 412. Would only give one blanket per room. We needed 2. Paid a decent amount of $$ for this room to be very cold all night. Was not good. Would like a discount for at least part on the room rate. Thank you for your consideration. Dianne Hill

    They promote a privately owned shuttle to the port for $15 per person, which I do not recommend. Very chaotic and a complete money grab. Not a good way to end a nice stay at the hotel and begin a vacation. Get an uber, the ride with the tip is cheaper and you'll be much happier.

    Very disappointed. The hotel needs a serious update. I’ve stayed in every kind of hotel From luxury to budget and this was one of the worst. The carpet in my room was dirty and worn. No water pressure and ran out of hot water after a few minutes. We asked for an extra blanket which never came. I’d really suggest looking elsewhere. Theirs plenty of other hotels in the area that look much nicer for about the same price.

We did not like being rushed out of the breakfast room. It was the least pleasant aspect of our stay as it added daily stress. We have never had that experience before at HIE.

    Our room wasn't ready so we were told that someone would call when it was ready. So we walked around and went to a coffee shop for awhile, about an hour and a half or more. Nobody called so we went back to the hotel to see if it was ready. It was. We were given 2 keys that did not work. The girl at the desk gave us new keys. They didn't work either so they called maintenance to help out. Andrew gave us a key that worked. Next, the television didn't work. We called and they said they would send maintenance. Nobody came so I went to the front desk again and they called maintenance again. Andrew came and fixed the tv. Andrew was doing many jobs so they must have been understaffed. I would give the staff high ratings for being friendly and doing the best they could do with long lines. The cleanliness of the room was just fair. The floors were dirty. One of the lights by the bed did not work. The lobby needs to be spruced up so it's a nice place to sit while waiting. For the prices charged for a room, the whole place could use a facelift where people feel good to be here. Cleanliness and ambiance would be good for starters.

    Room was disgusting. My feet were black from the carpets in room. Couch was dirty and torn. Elevator on floor did not work. Fell carrying suitcases down the steps cause elevators out.     We asked for an accessible room due to my wife needing knee replacement. They offered us a room on the 3rd floor, near the elevator. They neglected to tell us that the only elevator serving the 3rd floor was out of order. A member of the staff who ran into us just after we discovered the elevator issue, took us too our rooms and brought all of our luggage to the room. I didn't get his name but he was by far the most helpful member of the staff. When I went to the front desk to ask about the elevator, I was assured that the elevator would be repaired before the next morning. When I tried to return to my room, I found that the key card they had issued me did not work. The next morning, the elevator was still not in service and, fortunately, we ran into the same gentleman who had helped us the day before, who again took care of bringing all of our luggage down for us. I tried to tip him, but he refused to take any money. The front desk staff was useless, not offering any solutions, just meaningless apologies. The one person who did provide assistance was exceptional.

    Airport pickup was very slow due to traffic and the high volume of cruise passengers arriving for the next day departures. There are multiple Holiday Inn Express hotels so it was difficult to make sure we got the right shuttle. Hotel was great. They had a $15 shuttle to the port that we took advantage of.

    Check-in was very smooth once we arrived. The shuttle from the airport however took 90 minutes to get us. Just about ready to grab a cab when he showed up. No explanation or anything. The room was fine but it never did get made up the next morning so we had to go down to the front desk and ask for more cups. The location is convenient and we have always stayed here prior catching a cruise and never had these issues before so hope it's a one of.

    Hotel was clean and quiet. Staff at front desk were excellent. They were very professional and helpful. The driver (Peter) for the airport transfer van was amazing and very helpful.     Picked this hotel because of good reviews and "free"shuttles. But, free shuttle took over 1 hour to pick us up from airport, then never showed up and another hotels shuttle brought us cause he felt bad driving by us so many times. Then the shuttle to cruise terminal next day was gonna cost $15/person cash. A Uber cost $10 for 4 people total. Hotel was nice and room was clean. Decent breakfast. Hotel blamed outside company for shuttle issues and dismissed it.

    Hotel was clean and conveniently located if you are cruising from Port Everglades. Lots of restaurants and “essentials” shopping within easy walking distance. Would definitely stay there again. A very friendly and helpful staff.

    Room 545 extremely smelled, both floor and carpet were sticky. Room was very spacious. Bathroom and shower areas were very clean. Breakfast was ok and the servers were very polite and helpful. Used only the Airport shuttle from the hotel to the airport, shuttle floor was very dirty. Should remind people to book the shuttle on advance and print it on the provided leaflet when people checked in.

    Front desk gentleman Erin/Aaron (unsure on spelling) was extremely calm under pressure with chaos of many people coming & going all at once and the lobby full of people hanging out to leave or waiting till check in time. He was able to get us to our room early which was greatly appreciated. Room smelled musty but bed was very comfortable.

    The beds were like floating on air. The room was immaculate. My only complaint is the Ft. Lauderdale Shuttle Service that they promote. We bought the pickup from cruise to airport for $40.00 for two. We waited at the airport for pickup for an hour and a half. Called the number the first time after half hour and they said the van was on the way…click. Second call the man rudely said we were in the wrong spot (we were not). We watched every pickup and there was no van. Finally I asked the policeman for a professional courtesy and he put out a call on the radio. The service did send a separate van but he was caught up in traffic. When the driver finally arrived he said we were in the correct spot. Never again for this shuttle! Holiday should promote a service far better than this one. Other than this incident/service we will continue to stay with Holiday Inn.

    Check in was fine, front house staff is great. The hotel is a ONE star at best. It is worn out and unfortunately dirty,completely unkempt. Sticky floors in breakfast room, elevator filthy [asked for it to be vacuumed but never happened. Our room wasn't cleaned the first day and the second day we had to ask for it to be cleaned after being away for 6 hours. After it was cleaned we could write our name in the dust plus bathroom floors were dirty underneath the sink. Looked for manager but he left the building, IHG should be embarrassed to call this hotel a Holiday Inn Express and expedia should be embarrassed to rent this hotel as anything but a dump. Forgot to indicate my wife found mice poop around the pool chairs.

    Staff were courteous and rooms clean. Shuttle to hotel was late and not very organized. Waited avoer 1 hr and had to call 3 times to come pick us up. The driver was very kind and expressed that the hotel didn’t provide him with client contact info so didn’t know who he was picking up.

    We booked a handicap accessible room for my disabled mother. The beds definitely should not be as tall as they are, she could not get in the bed without us making an unsafe ramp/platform out of books and towels to get my 72 year old mother in the bed. Definitely should have lower beds in a handicap accessible room, I’ve never seen this before anywhere, and the front office was no help when I asked if any rooms had a lower bed. Basically was told no and if we don’t stay we would not be getting a refund.

    The room was right next to the street and we could hear all the traffic noise through the windows even over our sound machine. We asked for a non handicap room and they said because we booked through hotels.com that it was set in stone and they can't change anything. The parking was also very awkward and small spots. Then to get out you had to navigate very carefully around the other people who were walking through to get on the shuttle. There was also and extra $50 hold for the room that was not advertised on the website and parking was an extra $10 per day. The shuttle to the port was excessive at $15 per person, so for a family of 4 it would have been $60. We got in late and didn't have time to find another hotel but if we could have we would have definitely choosen to go somewhere else.

    Excellent location, close to restaraunts, grocery and pharmacy. Close walk to the waterway. Very safe area to walk in. Hotel shuttle came at the timeframe quoted to me when I called for pock-up at the airport. Location was clean, breakfast was good with several different options. Will definitely stay T this location again when I cruise out of Ft Lauderdale.

    Airport shuttle was great. Not sure why they have to charge $15 each to get to the cruise terminal and charge $200 more on a Saturday night. We would have stayed here again but for the up pricing on a Saturday I chose not to, too bad cuz the bed was comfortable.

    The room was clean, the beds were fine, breakfast was ok. The bathroom had wear and tear and needed some touchup paint in several places. The location was great - several places to eat and pick up anything you may have forgotten m nearby. It served our purpose of a place to sleep between our flight arrival and cruise boarding! I’d probably stay again.
