Blue Strawberry by the Sea

The rooms are spotless, pool is wonderful, so convenient to everything. The host Alba and her husband are truly some of the nicest people that you will ever meet! The entire staff is incredible. If I could rate this hotel 10 stars I would! We will never stay anywhere else! This is our home away from home.

The Blue Strawberry is a great little place to spend a few days in Lauderdale by the Sea. This place is INCREDIBLY clean, and staff is very helpful. This is an older property, but has been well taken care of. If you are looking for a property close to the beach and the "square", this is it.

This hotel is very close to the beach and has a wonderful eating area nearby. We have stayed there several times. The staff are friendly. The cleaning lady is super will do anything for you if you ask her for something extra towels she will get them enjoyed our time there. See if anyone else.

We had a very spacious room and a nice sized kitchen. Housekeeping as efficient and we never lacked for clean towels. Only a short walk to the beach and to the restaurants so the location was ideal.

Great location if you want to walk to the Lauderdale by the Sea town square on the beach where all the restaurants are. Beach access is one block away. An older building and rooms could use some updating but overall our stay here was good. Pools were well maintained. Parking spaces were a little tight for a large SUV like we have but it worked.

Staff was EXCELLENT!! Very pleasant , attentive. Front desk allowed us to check in a bit early AND gave us a larger size room :). Very efficient and clean, beds are very comfortable. Housekeeping very pleasant and accommodating.

Alina is the best maid an owner can ask for. Very hard working and very dedicated to her craft. Will definitely come again. Only problem is i wont be returning soon enough! Great place!

Property is close to downtown Lauderdale by the Sea and beach. Pool got shut down when we were their for 1 1/2 days and not really enough chairs for guests at pool.

The blue strawberry gets an A for cleanliness and a C- for antiquated rooms. The cabinets in the kitchenette were from the 1050’s. Overall, the whole hotel is in need of a complete renovation! The air conditioning was as loud as a freight train, so loud that you could barely hear the TV. The pool gunite needs to be stripped and refinished as it’s flaking off in the pool.

Thank goodness I was there for the fellowship with my dear friend, beach time & good food! My 1st room was cleaned just before I entered and I found dark hair in a few areas of the bathroom. The bathroom window had a torn screen big enough for an arm to fit through. I took pics in disbelief! And I was unable to lock it securely. I was on the 1st floor. My room key/card was unreliable and I was locked out. The office was notified of my concerns and ultimately gave me a different room. Better room with kitchenette upgrade for no extra fee, but still on 1st floor and I couldn’t see out of the peephole. I had the do not disturb sign on the outside side of my door and house keeping entered anyway and took one of my personal towels out! What?! I did again notify the office and my towel was retrieved. Would not go back or recommend.

Still our favorite hotel in Lauderdale by the Sea. Our host Alba and her husband are so sweet and accommodating. I can not say enough good things about the Blue Strawberry. We come every year and will continue to do so. Perfect location, 2 pools, impeccably clean. Just a wonderful place to stay!

Well, it was just close to the places where all my friends were staying. So it was very convenient in that sense. Also, it was very close to the shopping area and restaurants and it was very clean and nice. I’m definitely going back there.

From the moment you arrive you realize that this is a business that really cares. With updated rooms and staff that are so friendly and helpful. Easy parking and just a short walk to the beach and restaurants. This is somewhere I will recommend to all future friends and family staying in town.

The rooms shown on Expedia are renovated. I stayed in unit 114 which was a bit outdated. The AC Units were loud and the hot water takes FOREVER to come on. Overall cleanliness was fine. Walking distance to beach and Walgreens and restaurants. The pool was decent. Overall 2 star hotel, you are paying more for location but there are plenty of air bnbs that are of better quality for your money.

The Blue Strawberry is the best! Quaint place that’s perfect for a little getaway. The beach is right around the corner, and the courtyards with the pools are the perfect hangout spot for when you’re not feeling like committing to going to the beach. The rooms are simple but they’re clean and have everything you need. All the hotel staff, especially the ladies who clean the rooms, are wonderful.

Really enjoyed our stay. The staff was wonderful and friendly. Our booked room had a plumbing issue, so they gave us another room and a free night. It was a couple blocks from the beach and food/shopping. Rooms were clean and very comfortable and roomy. Older hotel but really well kept and loved the quainter feel. Would definitely stay there again.

The pool and the pool area is clean. the laundry facilities are available. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Parking could be a challenge at busier times.

The only negative is it's on a busy street so periodically at night, a loud, obnoxious car woke me up BUT everything else was great and I would definitely stay here again!!!

We had to call to have them enforce quiet time. There was a group of people partying until midnight outside our room for 2 nights.

It was a decent place to say, I especially noticed how clean the unit was when I walked in. It’s in a good area you can walk to downtown Lauderdale By The Sea and a few other places so the location is very good and it’s close to the beach. My only complaint is the rooms need to be updated. They are clean, but they do need to be updated. Overall, I would stay there again.

Convenience of location..near restaurant, beach, and entertainment. Best staff. Comfortable beds. Nice outdoor lounging area.

Contacted the office 5 times and no answer. Room cleaning came in without permission , still didnt clean or change bed sheets just made up the bed .

Nice beach motel for what it is. 2 minute walk to the beach. It was clean, however the bathroom could use a little work. Like painting and some new fixtures in the shower. Also the ac unit was loud. But for $90 a night in that location, good luck trying to find something better. Would stay again.
