Cloud of black smoke and all you could smell was burning rubber I went straight back to the counter and said I'm not staying they told me couldn't get a refund bc I booked online. Still trying to get my money back. We drove another hour to another hotel

The smell of marijuana all around the property. Suspicious people walking around the property. Opened the door to my room and a discusting worn out dirty couch. Discusting bedding. Looked like someone has been living there. Immediately walked out and went back to lobby and spoke to girl at check in counter. Requested a refund and that I would not stay there. She told me contact booking.com app that I used to reserve to room and request a refund and that she would confirm I didn't stay. I did all that. Never got my refund and the hotel never responded to the the cancellation refund request. I even messaged the property again to follow up and got no response.

The bar and food they sold, also good water pressure and was Hot The window was dirty some kind of fluid was thrown on it , as soon as walked in the room there was a roach crawling up the wall, the air conditioning was dirty filters were probably never cleaned and the front grill of it was also very dirty , holes in bathroom door, toilet paper holder fell out of the wall towels were dirty, I killed 7 roaches on Friday night and not to mention the guys playing dice in the corridor leading to the stairs

Did not have the time to have breakfast. All was good.

Nothing Booked a king room and was given 2 queen beds instead. Bugs, refusal to give a refund when we checked in and checked out all within 20 minutes. The room was not clean. Bathtub faucet had a continuous drip. Dresser was missing a drawer. "Art" on wall had sharpie writing on it as well as one of the headboards. I would have just left this alone if I had been given the refund I was told I would receive by 2 separate employees, but that didnt happen. We ended up sleeping in our car in the Bucees parking lot.

There was a person already in my room when I arrived. So thought it was no big deal, but that I just received the wrong room key. When I went back to the front desk to notify the staff, they told me lets walk to the room together and check it out. As we returned to the room the person who was in there was gone, but was very easily noticeable that the sheets and towels were just used, the room was just 'freshly' smoked in and, bathroom had hair on it and bugs crawling out of the drain and the staff member said it looks clean to me and asked me if I was high on drugs and that I was just being paranoid. Wasn't very happy with my stay.

There was a pungent smell of smoke from cigarettes in the 3 rooms we saw. When we got back home, some of our clothes still had that smell.

Waiting for the supposed maintenance man to bring spray! When he final got there apparently he went straight to the party that was being held!! The sign at the front tells it all! No refunds under any circumstances. We came for a church function in town by time we got back the roaches had a field day 10ish with 3 children! A hot mess!! I truly wanted to leave... the closet store gave me a bottle I had to fight roaches while my kids slept on top of the bedding they calmed down when sprayed but I shouldn't have had to do so...with a whole bar and grill!! Nice and personable front desk clerk. Attached bar/nightclub was loud at entrance but no problem from room. Clean appearance at first. But turn on the bathroom light, and nasty cockroaches scattered. Would have stayed another night but for that.

Common areas seemed dirty with garbage, glass and paper around and roaches in bathroom and around wet areas. Staff were exceptional and pleasant. Baseboard in room bent down like it had been pulled back. Refrigerator was not defrosted after prior occupants use and the buildup was discolored. The toilet did not flush properly.

It's quiet and comfy. But the walls are thin and the neighbors were noisy. The neighbors also hung out in the parking lot and were really noisy until late.

I saw a cockroach within five minutes of being in the room and there were more as the evening went in. We left WAY before checkout the next day and didn’t feel we could bring our things in.

The hotel staff were nice. The area was well lighted. Bed linens were clean. Very convenient right off the interstate. The Bathrooms were clean. They provided toiletries. The price was good for a working professional. Glad that this hotel is listed as one of the options for Florence.

The older lady at the front desk was very sweet. The room had roaches all over it. I was supposed to stay for 2 nights. I stayed the one night cause it was late and we left and didn’t return for the second night. Didn’t even waste time trying for a refund. I just left.

I run him out a d notice that my things have been moved, the bed is made and the pillows are arranged so that it appears that someone was sitting up watching tv. Also, I have no towels. I complained, they sent a cleaning lady to my room. She shows up with her small child and another person in tow. She apologized and dropped some towels off.

It was the worst motel stay we have ever experienced. We checked in and went to our non smoking room only to be knocked out by the smell of smoke. We immediately called the front desk and 15 minutes later the maid showed up with a spray to try and get rid of the smoke smell. She sprayed and left the bottle with us to wait a little bit and spray again. After another 15 minutes of sitting in the breezeway because the room smelled so bad we couldn’t stay in it we sprayed again and it did not work or get rid of the smell. We then called about getting a refund and another room at another motel. We had been there a total of 30 minutes and they said because we were there longer than 15 minutes we couldn’t get a refund( now we know why they took 15 minutes to even come up with the spray) never mind that we paid for a non smoking room and did not get what we they advertised. We will NEVER stay at this janky motel again and due to the lack of customer service and the horrible customer service that doesn’t back their customers and sides with the motels to rip off the customers we will NEVER book using hotels.com again or their parent company of Expedia.com. I will be sure however to tell everyone about their lack of customer service!

I havent stayed at this hotel in three years. They have really upgraded and the prices are still very reasonable. The receptionist at the front desk made sure I got the handicap accessible room I needed for my daughter. This is definetly our place to stay from now on when visiting home.

The somewhat good reviews I read prior to my stay must have been submitted by the resident crackheads and prostitutes. Not family friendly. Avoid at all costs. Could have used more dead bolt locks for peace of mind if possible.

Lady at desk was rude. Reserved two days and they knocked on door and threatened to put me out if I didn't pay. So they didn't say that you have to pay daily even if you made reservations for more than one night. I was trying to sleep and they kept knocking on door to spray for bugs .

Rooms were okay, there was roaches in one of our rooms. Also, the day we checked out the house cleaners just came into our room while we were packing up and yelled at us and said “get out now we need to clean”. (We we’re still within our checkout time) Then I reported this issue to the office and the same house cleaner came back, opened our door while someone was changing and cussed us out.

Surprisingly good hotel for the money paid. Great location less than mile from 95. The room not too small and has fridge and microwave. Only one thing to complain it was container with liquid left in microwave and we didn't use it.

Front desk staff was nice but the room smelled like smoke. I was too tired to try getting another room, mainly because front desk already said they were full. The beds were hard and had burn marks in the bed spreads. The bar by the front desk seemed a little unsafe.

My stay was clean , comfortable and nice front desk employees, Florence Express is a very great place to stay!!

Had holes in bed spread and sheets. Mold on wall in bathroom hand prints on wall, shoes stick to floor and very dirty.

I cannot even believe some of these reviews? Did the owner pay these people? Let me start by saying that I am not a picky person in any way shape or form. But this place was an absolute dump so scary that I left!! Everything was dirty, you could tell that people live here on a regular basis. Grills outside every door garbage, used needles etc!! I felt most bad for all the dirty kids running around that live there it was really sad! I will be contacting hotels.com because this place is no joke :( again I’m very down to earth I grew up poor and have seen it all and even I left this place! Do yourself a favor and stay away! Have no idea how someone could rate this place a 10 it is a -10! I want my money back.

However, I did want to notify others looking at this location that the lobby and hotel grounds had many drunk and unruly individuals. There is a bar onsite, but we were disappointed at the atmosphere and frankly felt unsafe in the loud and busy environment when we arrived at midnight. The hotel rooms have outside facing doors, and the parking lot and balconies had many loud individuals hanging out at that late hour and it was not comforting.

The area was secluded, which I liked. The room was very spacious and somewhat updated as far as furniture. I lobe love the price for the room.

Clean environment, the front desk staff were nice and friendly and i checked in early. The only odd part for me is i was in the middle of nowhere but overall it was cool

Wouldn’t know how the stay was we told the customer service desk we would be running really late for check in due to accident and traffic and that we would be there they gave our room up and we had to find a new hotel at 1 in the morning witch wasn’t easy to do for the budget traveling we were doing

Stained pillow case Not my room but a business companion had a snake in his room. Pool was closed and staff could not say why Restaurant was not open as stated

Staff was nice; room wasn’t the best... hairs all over the bed and bathroom. One sheet and a super thin “top blanket”. I loved the fact that the hot water was super hot! Shady people walking around. Doors slamming shut all night.

Overpriced. Drive up to doors (not safe), Not so good neighborhood. Old motel has been renovated inside but someone did a very poor, tacky job. Molded shower curtain and stained up floors. On the positive side, comfortable, clean beds, friendly staff, cold AC, and hot showers.

Stay was great. Water was hot. Rooms were clean. And the chef made the breakfast on site was wonderful. Best part the manager took care of me along with the staff very good since we came for a funeral. If you want to part there is a bar on site with happy hour for the nite hawks. We will be back because I like it is exit 169 which is about the first you hit off Interstate 95 bound into Florence SC!!!
