Cons: Parking is limited. You may end up having to park at the very back of the lot, which isn’t fun when try to cart tour luggage back and forth. It was also pretty noisy at night during my stay as my hotel room was right above the main lobby which was hosting not only a huge wedding party but the Knicks Game 5 finals. The shouts and chants went on pretty late as you can imagine. Exceptional cases, but room placement really can determine the quality of tour stay and unfortunately my room was exposed to the worst of it.

I understand that it was a busy weekend in the Rochester area due to graduations, so the high prices were expected. Still paying a high rate when the pool was out of service was disappointing. I had one member of our party that just wanted to swim on their birthday and that didn't happen. From other reviews it appears the pool has been out of service for months. It needs to be removed as an amenity - it is no longer one!

Rooms need a refresh. Typical hotel with a high cost. Location is good with a nice view. The room had a very cold draft from the windows and from under the AC unit. That meant turning the heat way up and the floor remained extremely cold. Not worth the cost. The restaurant is fantastic and that is well worth going to.

The room was nice but the sink and tub were either stained or dirty. I paid $172 for one night and they told me that in the morning, I could only have free coffee. The room had a Keurig machine with four pods and it would’ve been nice if they had a hot chocolate one because I don’t drink coffee. I would have to pay for Continental style things like bagels and such and I would have to pay $21 for the breakfast buffet. It would’ve been nice to have at least some bagels or muffins in the morning included.

The room was clean when we arrived. The tv in the room was awesome. Spa and pool looked nice, though we didn't use them. I would not stay here again. Housekeeping is available only when requested, and we didn't get it when we did request it. No microwave in room; no freezer in fridge; no fan in bathroom. Huge broken chunk on granite countertop leaving sharp jagged edge. Very loose pavers on front walkway - many wobbly stones. No business center. Noise in hallway was very loud in the room. Staff was not helpful when we asked for assistance. On checkout, we were not even asked how our stay was :-(

We’ve been to the Woodcliff during the holidays multiple times over the years, but this time it was disappointing. The room itself was fine and the staff were friendly and professional. Where they fell short was the availability of food on Christmas and their fitness/pool area. In past years there had been a wonderful brunch, but this year the restaurant was closed and instead there was only coffee and complementary continental breakfast, leaving patrons to try to hunt for food in a region closed for the holiday. The website said the pool was available, but was at 70 F. However, at the hotel, there were signs posted saying the pool was closed. What was formerly a well stocked fitness center had become a set of a few pieces of equipment, including a treadmill that had a broken incline. I understand that refurbishing a facility can be required, so having one of two of the elevators out of service for replacement did not factor into the review. The changes at the Woodcliff were a disappointment.

For the price of this place, and its reputation as a higher end hotel, it really is not in good condition. The hot tub was not warm, the pool was too cold to even use (because it’s connected to the outdoor pool), there were leaves in it, and things were falling apart.

I saw a bug on the bed when I arrived after check in. The front desk sent someone who took a paper napkin to remove and kill it on my pillow. She claimed it must have come in through an open window (an open window on the 6th floor in 20 degree weather?). The housekeeper did not check for other insects on the bed and did not change the linen. When I went to the front desk for a different room, the front desk supervisor called me over to speak with him and told me to smile. I told him that my experience did not warrant a smile, his reply was "it didn't bite you did it?" When I said it did not but I have OCD and cannot stay in that room, this supervisor's response to me was, "so do I and it is probably worse than yours"! He told me "be good to us and we will be good to you, now go get your keys" from the front desk person that I had spoken to on the phone and went down to see. This was an uncalled for, highly inappropriate approach to a customer's valid complaint. I felt belittled and bullied by this man so much so that I left the hotel after changing rooms from a 2 queen bed room to a king with sleeper sofa as no 2 beds were available until the next day. When I returned later with my friend I had made the reservation with, the night shift staff expressed appropriate concern for what had occurred earlier and immediately gave us a 2 queen bed room. It's been 24 hours since I emailed a complaint to the Woodcliff's assistant general manager and have yet to receive any response.

The pool and hot tub were not useable and the pool is in a dark basement area, there were leaves in the indoor pool. Hot tub was drained of most of the water. Unacceptable as this is a SPA. Ceiling tiles are peeling up and misplaced in the restaurant, not acceptable when the meals are well over $100 per person. Painted over mild and water damage on the walls and pictures hung in the room. Not what I expected from this hotel and spa.

I used one spa service and after a rocky start due to weather-related issues, the spa was relaxing and beautiful and the staff was excellent. The rooms, elevators, hallways, and workout areas were in rough condition. This hotel needs a total makeover. The price for the quality of the room was terrible. I was traveling with a friend and both rooms had holes in the walls, gritty 80's era spackled ceilings, scuffed and damaged doors, and no bathroom amenities. In the workout area, the hot tub was drained and broken, the pool was murky looking, and the exercise equipment was sparse and much of it appeared broken. The whole area was dank and depressing.

I Got a reservation for weekend and they didn’t have space in their schedule for me in Spa. I supposed to make an appointment when? A month before. It must be a service available for all the consumers that want to relax during stay at hotel since this is one of the biggest attractions of the hotel. The other biggest attractions and one of the main reasons I chose this hotel was because of the pool and hot tub but they were under reparations. I didn’t go to the hotel just to sleep I was expecting a different experience of being in house sleeping and watching tv. They don’t got internet we are forced to watch the local channels what is bore. At least at home I can watch whatever in YouTube and Netflix. Pretty expensive and no breakfast included. I really expected a whole different experience. Despite that the views and decoration pretty nice. But the suit seems bigger in the pictures. Long time waiting to check in.

Well, I absolutely love the wood cliff. There are a few things that are infuriating. I’ve been going there for many years and the fact that the Jacuzzi is no longer working is a huge imposition. It’s one of the main reasons I booked that hotel. And the fact there is no lunch service and no room service is very difficult these days post Covid.

Many of the photos we saw featured the spa, which is an additional paid service. Unfortunately, it was almost fully booked before we even arrived, so we weren’t able to take advantage of it. Our room itself was comfortable, but there were a few cleanliness issues that stood out. The shower grout had some mold, the bathroom floors looked like they could use a deeper clean, and the toilet was not fully sanitized. We also found a lot of crumbs in the fridge and some marks on the bureau, which gave the impression that housekeeping was not thorough. One of the main reasons we booked was for the hot tub, so it was disappointing to find it completely drained and unavailable. This definitely impacted the overall experience. On a more positive note, the fitness center had a nice selection of equipment, which I appreciated. However, some machines were missing weight pins, so I carried one around during my workout. It wasn’t a major issue since the gym wasn’t busy, but it was inconvenient. The locker rooms felt dated and dark, which could use a refresh. Overall, the stay had both positives and negatives. While the property has potential and some nice amenities, there were things that didn’t align with our expectations, especially for our anniversary weekend.

There was no housekeeping service throughout my stay. I had to go to the front desk to get clean towels, and when I asked about used towels and trash, I was told to push everything into the closet. No trash bags were provided — an unsanitary and makeshift solution at best. On top of all that, the overall feel of the property is quite run-down. From the worn-out furnishings to the lack of basic service, it’s clear that upkeep and guest experience are not priorities here. We have been this hotel many times after it was built. It is tired and needs updating and remodeling. After 38 years, the bathrooms are the same, the elevators are slow, there is no valet service, took four calls for room cleaning service and settled for clean towels the night before we left. Pool is dated and floor of pool is flaking off both in pool and deck. There should have been someone taking drink orders at the pool but nothing. These owners need to hire a "resort experience" expert. You can't charge resort rates and deliver a Hampton Inn experience. So sad to see the quality slip for maximizing profits. The owners need to sell it to a high end chain. Horizons for dinner was ok, but overpriced and underdelivered on food quality. Probably the fattiest lamb that I ever had. Tenderloin was great. From both reviews and friends, I was excited to stay here for 6 nights. However, I highly recommend staying at ANY OTHER HOTEL. There is an $18 per person "resort fee" and there is NO "stayover service" (their words). There was one small trash can in the main room (none in the bathroom). Our towels were refreshed on the 2nd day, and the trash emptied, but this did not happen again for the remaining 4 days. The walls in the bathroom were dirty, and the lotion bottles were stuck to the walls and fell off. The hallways/carpets leading to the rooms are gross (stained, in need of replacement). The walls are very thin and the toilets have a very powerful flush, so you can hear the toilets flushing in every adjacent room. The hot tub was one of the main reasons we chose this hotel - and it was out of order. There were also no towels available at the pool and there were six chairs on the inside portion, with 4 being taken up by used towels and two others used by other guests. We put our stuff on a bench that had a bandaid stuck to it. The floor by the pool was also set with rocks (so its bumpy) and the staff needed to pass carts back and forth through the pool room with the elevator on one side and I guess storage on the other side(?). This meant that every 5 minutes you heard the loud transport of a full/empty cart across the room. We also had to skim the pool of dead bugs ourselves. I did not pay for any additional spa services as I didn't want to give them more of my money.

We are a disabled couple, and requested a room with accessibility features. For the most part, that was accommodated, although the bed was at a strange angle, the room smelled of curry for all 3 days of our stay and the wedding reception beneath our window blasted music throughout the night, making it close to impossible to rest. On the second night, a fire alarm went off and we had to evacuate via a dozen staircases, which was horrifying. I think all accessible rooms should be on the third floor or lower. If there’d been an actual fire, I can’t imagine we would have had ample time to reach safety. I should have known our stay was going to be lousy based on how we were treated at arrival. We are locals, thus familiar with the premises, so I pulled into handicap parking just outside the lobby entrance. As we got out, we were accosted by a young man who parked his golf cart parallel to our bumper as if to block us. He then said “You drove right past me! Are you checking in?!” He was clearly upset we didn’t stop to talk to him as we entered the parking lot, but that wasn’t typical protocol and he was busy leaning into someone else’s car, off to the side of the road at the time. He clearly needs to visit the spa on the 2nd floor.

Age of Hotel is showing. Arrived to room late, and found rug to be soaking wet. Too late to do anything about it. Next morning we told them and they said you have 2 choices, we can suck up the water with a wet vac and run an industrial fan and it will take out all the water and rug will be dry. We decided to take that option based on their assurance it would be dry. Went out for the day, came back late and rug still wet and equipment still set up and on, smell was really noxious. Next day was wedding and we had been all unpacked and didn't have the time to pack up the room and switch because we had to get ready for the wedding. Next morning, rug still soaked told them the rug is still soaked, and the smell was making me sick, needed to change rooms. Had to wait in the lobby for them to have an available room, was about an hour. They said they were sorry, but that was about it. Maintenance brought us a bottle of champagne, but to us we do not drink champagne, so we felt they didn't care enough about the situation or how serious of a situation it was, and just gave us a different room without any sort of extra amenity, (bottle of champagne didn't begin to make up for it all) upgrade or discount for what we felt was a pretty serious issue. We always loved the Woodcliff, but will never stay there again.

Our first room was hot and humid with an unplugged AC unit. The front desk moved us to a second room, which was just as bad. The room was visibly dirty—grime in the shower, stains on the walls, patchy wallpaper, and mold on the AC vent. The photos online are completely misleading. We also found hairs in the bed, black spots under the fitted sheet, and spotted multiple bugs crawling on the floor and curtains. It was genuinely uncomfortable and unsanitary. At checkout, I explained our experience and was told the only refund they could offer was the resort fee—despite charging over $300 for the night. The front desk agent even said she didn’t know how to issue a refund due to a “new system.” This hotel is not at all what it claims to be. It was a disappointing, overpriced stay in a poorly kept property that should not be marketed as luxury.

Cleanliness in the general area was not very good. Carpeting elevators very dirty. Pool area workout area shut down dirty water poor conditions in need of remodeling. Even the rooms need work.

The front desk staff was so amazing! I was little bummed that I was only stayed for a night but enjoyed every second. The live band was such a treat after a long work day and everyone was so helpful. I will definitely be visiting them again in the future for a longer stay!
