Breakfast lady was awesome!! Room was cleaned every day. Front desk people were helpful at all hours. What a great stay.

Breakfast was ok. The cinnamon rolls were great. I had oatmeal every morning, but didn’t see any variance in the hot selections.

Mattresses were of average quality. Bathroom was clean except a black spot on the shower side where the tub and the wall meets. Not sure if it was mold or something else. The breakfast foods were of below average quality. There was not much taste to scrambled eggs, bread and even the strawberry jelly. Coffee was good and available 24 hours. I would not recommend this Holiday Inn Express

Location Poor management to take care of an issue impacting an entire floor of guests. Room across from me had 2 very loud dogs that barked non-stop well into the night. Entire 4th floor complained to front desk and the desk attendant thought it was funny. I asked to be moved. He said he couldn’t do that. Asked for a refund within hour of checking in. Said he couldn’t do that either. Offered nothing. Very disappointed in how this situation was handled.

Said wanted a Room close to elevator.. but NOT next to one. Room was RIGHT next to it. Said wanted 2nd floor...room was on 4th floor. Huge tree right outside window, and birds chirped all night and Could hear every tweet. Could hear every car that went by. Could hear every door on the floor close. Hardly slept. Not a pleasent stay.

The room was clean and the hotel was quiet. It is in a good location with easy access from the interstate and close to a Metro station for public transportation access. There are many restaurants nearby that provide a good variety of options. Breakfast was fine and had suitable items. The coffee service was available all day and was quite good.

They couldn’t find my reservation. The bathroom was sooooo small . I requested a King room and got a Queen because they said that’s all they had. Very disappointed with the booking of the reservation and the hotel stay

The gentleman at check-in was polite and the room was clean, but overall, the hotel seemed very run-down. The lobby/foyer is dim and not very welcoming. There is an overpowering scent of air fresher/cleaner in the elevator that is nowhere else in the hotel. The door to the room was stuck. The toilet ran nonstop. The bed was collapsed/caved in on one side. At breakfast in the morning, nothing was quite right (the juice was over-concentrated, oatmeal not properly prepared). The attendants in the (small) breakfast area were just standing in front of the serving dish, blocking the area (one was showing the other pictures on her phone). The cushions on the bench at the table was ripped and repaired with duct or electrical tape. Just not a great experience.

Stayed here for a concert and honestly we enjoyed our stay. It was close to the concert venue, red lobster, pizza, burger place, coffee shop and amazon fresh right there. Front desk was very helpful with my questions and helped me find out the best way to get to the venue. Bathroom is a bit dated but who cares thats cosmetic. I would stay again if going to a concert in Fairfax again.

The gentleman at the reception who checkedbys in was extremely nice and professional. He offered us a free drink since this was our first stay at this Holiday In location. I would give a 5 star but i was really annoyed by the noise people were making at the hallway and outside at 2am in the morning. I couldnt speep well because of that. But the staff was really nice!

No real creamer at coffee bar, only chemicals! Put a damper on otherwise decent breakfast offerings. Back part of parking lot a little scary with poor lighting, especially with homeless guy wandering through, parked in front instead.

Because I didn't answer they canceled my room without my knowledge and gave it to someone else. I woke up from surgery with no room for the night and appointments in the morning. No apologies or anything. Is good customer service even a thing anymore?

I have stayed here many times over the last six years, as both my children attended the George Mason University. Every time I stay here, the room is clean, the staff is always extremely friendly and helpful, and I enjoy the continental breakfast. It's quiet, close to grocery stores, and about a ten to fifteen minute drive from campus on busy days. It's also close to Manassas (we have family there). I highly recommend staying here!

The maintenance on the hotel needs to be improved. Our bathroom door was swelled, split, and painted over to hide it. The bathtub faucet moves in the tub wall and the plug would not stay down to allow for a bath. Love that the fan on the PTAC unit is able to stay on so that there can be background noise during sleeping. Adjustable thermostat control is wonderful so that I can choose what I want. The staff are very friendly and the amenities are very nice.

Not bad for the rate, as a solo woman traveling, I elected for a Hilton property closer to my business location the next week. Many construction men were occupying the night of my stay, and that made me feel a bit uncomfortable. But overall no complaints.

For a short overnight stay it met my expectations. I didn’t really get to use any of the amenities.

It was a nice experience. For the price, you really can't complain! Breakfast was decent and the staff were incredibly nice. The rooms were clean and so was the entire hotel. I would stay here again, its also nice if you're planning on going to tysons as its only 15 minutes away and a lot cheaper than the hotels near there

The hotel was very clean and the staff was friendly Just a good straight forward hotel room. The location was situated between the downtown and the airport about a half hour either direction. There was a Red Lobster next to the hotel which was nice but, not much else within walking distance. The neighborhood was nice. Breakfast was your standard hotel fare although the sausage was turkey which we liked. There was also a small but nice selection of stacks and drinks by the front desk. Check in was a bit slow due to computer problems but, I was offered a free drink in compensation. All in all, I would stay there again.

No room service

We were in the area for a concert so we just need somewhere to crash for one night and that’s all I would use this hotel for. Directions to get into the parking lot were messed up and we ended up having to make a couple different turns until we got it right. The elevator only worked the very first time we went to our room; we left 10 minutes after arriving and it would not go anywhere. The next morning, the same thing happened…the door didn’t even close all the way this time! Safe to say this left us feeling uneasy so we took the stairs. The room smelled damp and musty and everything inside felt damp. The only redeeming quality of our room was the super hot water in the shower…but the drain could not keep up with the volume of water so you will just be standing in a pool of water. Like I said, it served its purpose for one night but I wouldn’t stay longer and would not stay here again

The room and beds were quite accomodating and confortable. However, with a reservation for 4 people, only two bath towels were provided. When asked for additional towels, the staff said that there arent any more available, and scrambled to find one additional towel. Also, at check-in, at almost 5pm, 2 hours after posted check-in time, the staff was checking with housekeeping on availability of our room and asked us to wait. That was annoying since we drove for a long distance and obviously had places to go. Also, although i selected to pay at property, my credit card was charged a "hold" fee of the night's stay $100 almost an hour before posted check-in. The staff explained that its a "hold" but also said that the $100 should be refunded in 2-3 days. To me, that's not a hold. That's a charge with a refund. This seems very scatchy. Let's see if/when the $100 is refunded.

Our only frustration was that there was no laundry room (as listed). This was day 5 of our road trip and desperately needed to do laundry.

Unfortunately, it looks like the shampoo came with the conditioner mixed in.

The bed, mattress, and pillow were among the most comfortable. I have ever had it either in a hotel, or at home. However, the room design was bizarre. You had to turn on the bathroom light from the front entryway, which meant that the other person in bed had to experience the light. Also, the sink was on the other side of the entryway from the bathroom, which meant that person using the bathroom, at night or tomorrow I , had to greatly disturb the other person. I have stayed in mini Holiday Inn expresses, but this was a bazaar, stupid design for the restaurant, the lighting in the sink.

There was plenty of free parking. The air conditioning worked fine, but it is a window style unit rather than central air, so it makes some noise. The side entrance near the parking lot needs some maintenance, as it does not shut properly, which could be a security concern. The TV was really nice and big, so I watched some sports and enjoyed that. The breakfast was typical for a hotel like this. They had a one minute automatic pancake maker that was pretty cool

Very disappointing stay. Asked for extra towels, made me feel like I was planning on stealing them...I don't want your towels...fyi. Bathroom is small and there is really no place for privacy to change...unless you go into the bathroom and close the door....but then you are up against a toilet and tub/shower. I prefer not to put my clean cloths on a toilet while getting ready. Breakfast was good, but really was the only selling point of this location. While dealing with hotels.com, I was unable to check out a night earlier than we planned...we are a baseball family and our plans change based on weather/seeding/game schedule....it's super unreliable, so booking exact dates are difficult. Neither Holiday Inn Express or Hotels.com would help me with this....I paid for an extra night that we didn't even use. Buyer beware...even if you pay extra, you might not be able to get out of a reservation if plans change. Either way, I feel like this experience was NOT great and at this point I wouldn't recommend this Holiday Inn Express in Fairfax (there are a bunch of other hotels nearby...spend the extra couple of bucks for a nicer place to stay). I also feel as tho I will no longer be using hotels.com to book based on this experience. Maybe I didn't read the 'small print', but I guess I've learned my lesson and I will no longer book 3rd party due to the 'once you check in, you can't change anything about your stay' policy. Peace.

Front desk staff were friendly and courteous. Room was clean and we felt safe. Coffee at the front wasn't good, but that didn't change our minds. We will be coming back.

Price was good but you get what you pay for. Dated rooms, old spring mattresses, musty oder, and tbe "fitness center" was a joke.

A decent motel. Room was in disrepair in a few places. Shower curtain was torn in several places and falling off, TP holder was coming off the wall, and a few other little things. Rooms were tight. Ceiling was low. I'm 5'11 and had to sit to put my shirt on because the ceiling would not allow me to extend my arms above my head. No ice on my floor. Clean beds, lots of hot water, breakfast was standard motel fair. I wouldn't not stay here again but I will certainly check out other places first. Especially at this price.

Stayed with two friends for a concert. Very clean, front desk was nice and helpful. The hallway was king of loud but only because we were across from the ice machine.

Perfect place to stay for a quick get away. Clean, convenient, and affordable. It also has a restaurant right next to it, so that was amazing.

The younger man at the front desk was very kind and nice. My room was nice and i slept pretty good the whole night lol the checkout being 12pm instead of the typical 11am is a nice touch also. i enjoyed my stay

Flimsy towels and not enough of them, carpet worn and needed cleaning, hard to darken the room due to built in outlet nightlight. Nothing awful, just meh.

Great customer service, Raj checked us in and was very welcoming. Our room was very clean and convenient, good breakfast as well and very convenient parking.

The hotel is in a fairly congested area just outside of Washington DC so it's to be expected. The hotel itself was really nice. It was very clean and the service counter was OUTSTANDING at check-in. They did charge me an extra $100 for what I'm assuming is a security deposit but it was never mentioned during my reservation but it's all good. I understood. Very nice experience overall and they did sign me up for IHG rewards so that was appreciated. I'd stay here again if the opportunity came up in the future.

Rooms were quiet. No wi-fi (issue was beyond hotel) but they could not check me in without wanting a cash deposit. When I asked for receipt they said they could not print one because wi-fi was down. They did allow me to keep the cash and trust me to run my card when it it was up and running. Just to have a receipt book to make out receipts when this occurs would be an idea. Breakfast was poor. Very cramped spaces to sit if you could find a place to sit at all and things were not replenished without being asked to do so.

The hotel was easy access and on a main road. Staff was friendly, breakfast was a bit lacking, beds were comfortable.

Too closed to I-95. So much noise at night from the tracks driving on I-95. The floor in the room was dirty. Free breakfast but can’t even call it breakfast.

Our flights were delayed and our family was split into different flights. I called ahead and talked to Charles at the front desk. He had everything ready when my wife and daughter checked in early in the morning. He was ready for me when I came in a few hours later. The service here was excellent!

Expected more cleanliness in room

Good location, clean but noisy. Fire alarms went off both nights. :-/ Large tour buses full of kids come and go frequently.

Hotel staff are very nice !

The staff was very helpful. He checked us in promptly. It was noisy at night other patrons slamming doors, A charge was made to our room so we were not refunded out entire deposit. Could be the staff or another customer. Heating units gave off a moldy smell.

Property was safe and clean.

Negatives are carpet was not vacuumed before we checked in. Toilet would not flush properly unless you held the handle. Cleaning service attempted to enter the room (physically tried opening the door but we had the safety lock in place) 1.5 hrs before check out time. She knocked, did NOT announce herself and then attempted to open the door. When we went to desk to checkout, no one was at the desk. We waited a short bit and a guy got up from the business center computer and came over to check us out. He looked at us when we walked by but still waited before he got up to assist. When voicing my complaint about the cleaning service incident, two managers came out from back. They apologized but didnt offer anything for the inconvenience.

This Holiday Inn Express was very nice for our 3 night stay. Staff was always very pleasant. We found the room to be very clean, and breakfast was very good. Free bus to Vienna Metro just steps away from the front door.

Great check in and check out phases

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. I am 9 months pregnant and was staying here for a school event , by myself. Immediately when I walked in the hotel smelled , the front desk person was not very polite seemed like he had "better things to do" then check me in. They placed my room right next to the elevator so I could hear people all night long. I checked in at 4:45 and then around 2:30 in the morning woke up to a staff member using his keys to try and open my door ... thankfully i had the hinge lock, locked at the top. I have major anxiety so I started having a panic attack because they began banging on my at 2:30 in the morning because I wouldn't open the door (again I am a young pregnant female traveling alone) Once they stopped banging they called my room to ask me if hat my confirmation number was because someone put me in the wrong room. I never even went back to sleep because of how freaked out I was. I didn't even stay the whole time I was supposed to because of how traumatized I was from the situation , yet they still charged my card the full price & incidentals and the manager refuses to get back in contact with me. 0/10.
