The hotel is generally praised for its friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms, and convenient location, particularly for those visiting the University of Oregon. However, some guests have complained about noise, minor maintenance issues, and the quality of breakfast.

Older but very clean and comfortable hotel.

My room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the temperature was perfect. The staff was accommodating, I was able to check in early and check out 30 mins after check out time. Plus I received cookies just out of the oven. The breakfast choices were limited but very tasty. Thank you for taking good care of me during stay.

I like staying at The Maverick but in the future I'll make reservations directly through them and not through a third party (i.e. Hotels.com). When trying to make reservation changes made through Hotels.com they're very inflexible.

Ok for one night. Room clean but noisy. Comfortable bed.

Free cookies and milk! Old style phone . Breakfast .

Night and day front desk were very amiable and helpful. Surprised at breakfast to find granola ( a higher cost cereal).
- 3/5
The staff was all helpful and welcoming. The bed was comfortable and they do not skimp on the pillows! They could really benefit from some instructions for the shower. I have stayed at a lot of hotels and have never had such a difficult time figuring out how to turn on a shower. My coworker and I were texting eachother trying to figure it out. Speaking of the shower, as my coworker said the showers were meant for hobbits. I’m 5 foot 2 on a good day and even I felt the showers were awkwardly short and the water got all over the bathroom floor. The free breakfast was nice and I love that they have water and coffee available for free 24 hours. It saved me a trip to the store to buy water.

Friendly staff great location
- 5/5
The room was very clean and beds were comfortable. The only thing that was a problem was the height of the shower head. It’s not tall at all. Perfect for someone under 5’6. Anyone over that must bend down to wash their upper body and hair.

Enjoyed our stay at the Maverick. Rooms clean, staff friendly, excellent location for concert venue just across the street th street.

This place is a motel. Truly one of the worst stays I've ever stayed. First: the first desk lady is a miserable human. Extremely rude. I was wearing yoga shorts and she told me if I wanted to come back to get coffee in the morning I had to wear pants. LOL! Truly shocking to one comment on a customer appearance but two have a dress code of no shorts. She said people walk to get coffee in underwear in the mornings so they had to make this rule? I realized she meant this is a place where people bring ladies of the night. It's that kind of place. Safety: No security, no gates. Signs everywhere about theft and breakins. Was terrified leaving my jeep in the parking lot after hours. Room: bugs in the showers, mold on the corners, no trash cans, terrible bed with thin sheets and flat pillows. Overall, it was almost comical how bad this place was. There are a TON of hotels in Eugene so I'd just go down the street and pay the same for a Marriott or Hyatt.

The floor was not clean. There were pieces of paper and leaves on the floor. The sheets were not ironed. The entry door needed to be washed. I just had the feeling that the room was not clean.
- 4/5
super friendly staff. the breakfast over-performed. great location. room was rather worn (no towel hooks in bathroom was weird). but we enjoyed our stay.
- 2/5
Floor and walls were unclean. Insects & spiders both dead and alive, and at least 3 large, visible webs. Heater smelled like mold/mildew

shower head placement for very short people.

Fantastic hotel! Loved the breakfast, free evening s’mores by the fires, comfy beds. Would stay here again.

The room was clean. Staff was nice. Breakfast was good.

The room smelled stale. The paint was chipping. The AC was so loud. The blanket on one of the beds was visibly dirty (thankfully that was not the one I used). Overall felt gross
- 4/5
Comfortable bed, super helpful staff. Cons: lots of stairs leading into building makes it difficult to handle luggage. Interior elevator is slow. Bathroom is very small and shower head is lower than normal. Lots of road noise starting at 5 am every morning.

Made a reservation and was told by the property manager they do not allow local customers to stay at their facility! Never in my life have I heard of such a policy! What does it matter where I am from. Total discrimination.
- 5/5
Your staff was amazing. The hotel itself was beautiful. I love the layout and the design in the room the breakfast though wow I can’t even begin to tell you how impressed I was and it was complementary. I would definitely be booking her again. I can’t remember the girls name at the front desk, but she was a blonde. She was prompt full of ideas and had amazing customer service.

Older clean hotel, friendly staff, nice light breakfast. Short walk to restaurants and Matthew Knight Arena. Enjoyable stay.
- 5/5
Older place but very clean. Good working mini split heat/air. Friendly staff. Would stay again. Literally right across the street from Matthew Knight Arena. Easy walk over for events.
- 5/5
Updated and clean. Friendly and informative staff. Great breakfast choices. Great location. You can lightly hear your neighbors, but it wasn't too loud, and we didn't have the tv on. I would return and highly recommend The Maverick.
- 4/5
Very modest breakfast, but for a short stay it's acceptable.
- 5/5
Love the decor, breakfast was great. Definitely staying here again.

Not to far off the freeway and right across the street from the Ducks basketball Arena.

Good breakfast selection - comfy beds - shower pressure good, have to set to shower before turning on water otherwise pressure too high and flows through tub spout instead

I got a room with smell of dog, and it is close to road, sound proof of the room is bad, the motorcycle noise is very loud. Overall not as good as its rate on Expedia.

- 2/5
Room was noisy—I could hear everything upstairs.
- 5/5
The staff is always friendly and helpful, the property is well kept and the included breakfast has an abundance of items to choose from. Will be staying again.
- 5/5
Experience was top notch from check in to check out. Clean, pet-friendly (& approved, my Corgis are seasoned travelers and they settled right in), awesome retro vibe rooms. Beds were very comfortable. Great water pressure in shower. We had a really early check out to get to the airport but there was still a good variety of items for breakfast before we left.
- 4/5
Bathroom ceiling could use a scrub, but otherwise everything was very clean and updated.
- 5/5
Pet friendly, clean room. Great proximity to food options in walking distance.
- 3/5
Hotel was nice and clean, modernized from what it used to be. Walls and ceilings were thin so any noise floated through. My first night there were a group of college girls that seemed to have no regard for the people in the rooms next to them. Front desk tried to get them to quiet down but it just seemed to make them louder. Second night was better but I could still hear everything happening in the hallway/rooms around mine.
- 3/5
Rooms are kind of dated, noisy, and not very clean. Lots of junk on the floor. Staff was very kind, and helpful, bed comfortable.
- 5/5
It’s an older motel style building but it’s been updated so it feels vintage without being dilapidated. The breakfast was good, easy to grab and go, fresh coffee with flavored syrups (always a plus) and a cooler stocked with local beers. Pet friendly with lots of different walking areas to choose from. Front desk staff were all very pleasant and helpful.
- 5/5
air condition worked great loved how many places were walkable from the hotel
- 5/5
Neat place. Helpful staff. Good breakfast. Walking distance to restaurants and the university. Recommend.
- 5/5
So convenient across from the Matthew Knight Arena. Very clean staff is very friendly really nice grabbing and go breakfast. Always stay here when I go to an event.
- 5/5
Adorable room and the outside patio w/ fire pit was the perfect way to end the evening.
- 5/5
Very clean hotel, nice staff, easy walk to Knight Arena. Coffee and breakfast were nice!
- 5/5
Great place and nice staff. Wonderful breakfast
- 5/5
Employees where great very helpful had a nice patio with fire pits outside to sit around and socialize. Room was very clean and updated and great location and price
- 5/5
Location to stadium, very friendly staff, quiet. Free parking.
- 1/5
The front desk clerk was great, but the room smelt like pee. Immediate turn off. I did not stay. I booked a room for less money at the Hayward Inn next door and it was gorgeous.
- 1/5
I had no heat. I left my husband’s wedge pillow there, and they said they didn’t find it, which I’m sure the housekeeper did, but they probably helped their self but like I said, we froze to death and couldn’t even get a refund or a discount I will never rent here again.
- 4/5
Five stars for $100 rate, four stars for $160 rate (which is what I paid for a weekend stay). I was put into a room that had clearly been a smoking room prior to remodel and my eyes were itching within 30 min. The staff was very polite and relocated me to a much better room, without smell. Not sure why that room is still available and why they put me in it when there was far better rooms. Disappointing in that regard. Bed very comfortable and clean. My new room was more spacious and had two lounge chairs and a bench to either sit on or spread out luggage on which I appreciated. Breakfast okay: bagels, granola, variety of milks, granola bars, yogurt. Nice variety but outside of biscuits and gravy there is no hot food. Hope this helps. It's worth $100, much less so at $160.

Welcoming, helpful front desk staff Sejena and Tamara; clean room and cute decor, good location for many Eugene activities.

The staff was so pleasant and helpful, it felt like we were visiting Mom.
- 5/5
Very nice front desk lady. Hotel was cute and clean.
- 5/5
excellent service, great breakfast, comfortable beds
- 5/5
Amazing everything
- 4/5
Clean but dated
- 5/5
Nice friendly check in person. Clean room. Across the street from the arena, so didn’t have to deal with parking.
- 4/5
Really liked the fact that there were unexpectedly two sinks, it was quiet, and the bed very comfortable. However, the lighting was a problem -- WAY too bright and glaring in the room, not bright enough in the bathroom, and no nightlight. Also, a curved shower curtain rod would have been better. Otherwise, very comfortable, liked gluten-free options for breakfast, and the room was huge!
- 5/5
Not a 5-start hotel but not intended to be, rather a bohemian small hotel with GREAT service and GREAT small extra touches like the morning breakfast… and a GREAT location for visiting UO. Would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Beds are clean, floors throughout grungy and could use updating. Good for budget.
- 5/5
good room. great breakfast.
- 5/5
Great welcome! Very spacious room. Quiet location with lots of food options near by!
- 3/5
We stayed here because Expedia said it was an 18 min walk to the Autzen Stadium. It is more like a 35 minute walk. The room was clean. It felt like a remodeled dorm room. There is no restroom inside the lobby which makes traveling with a 5 year old a little difficult.
- 3/5
WiFi was horrible, which I suspect is not uncommonly the case for those of us who get stuck in the back building (where I always get put). Undoubtedly I'll have a significantly higher cell phone usage bill because I had to use it so much.
- 5/5
Excellent stay! The staff made it stand out!! With a very special thanks/recognition to Sejena and Tamera. Bonus —- The coffee was exceptional and the breakfast was highly enjoyed. The bed and pillows were so very comfortable. Great location and very safe. Recommended!!
- 5/5
Nicely upgraded with a nice bed and good shower. The only problem was that the window shade (not curtains) was not very opaque so the room was not very dark for sleeping, be sure to travel with your eye mask!
- 5/5

Very very poor WiFi and internet connection. The signal is weak even when I use my own data plan. Not happy
- 5/5
Nice size clean rooms. Breakfast could use some hot items but it still has good variety of items.
- 5/5
Our stay was excellent. We were able to park our car early, before check-in, and walk to the Duck's game. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great with gluten free options, yummy granola and yogurt, breakfast sandwiches, great coffee, and good food choices. The room was clean and comfortable.

Found this place near Autzen Stadium and enjoyed our stay. The building was a little bit older, but the room looked brand new. The location is very convenient and walkable to University or Oregon and Autzen Stadium. The room was very clean and quiet. and I he bed and pillows were comfortable. The only negative issue is the shower head was very low. The shower head was at shoulder level, so washing your hair requires you to really bend down awkwardly. Different shower heads could make this our go-to place for Duck games.
- 3/5
Complimentary breakfast was a joke they should not say that. There was a smell as soon as you entered that I can't describe. I put my bag on the chair and found a bug. Then another bug and another. It was clean but dirty at the same time. The sheet has a large red stain on the aide of the bed. I go to Eugene a lot and this won't be a place I stay again. It is conveniently located next to Starbucks and the walk to Autzen.
- 4/5
Nice clean room, close to the U of O bball stadium!
- 4/5
Staff was nice at check in, room was clean
- 5/5
Great stay. The breakfast options are noteworthy. I really like a grab and go set up and this hotel had great options. Gluten free options are hard to find at continental breakfast locations. Thank you so much for having options for everyone!
- 5/5
Our go to place when visiting University of Oregon.
- 3/5
I didn't have the breakfast.
- 4/5
Love the concept of refurbishing an old motel and making it hip. Check in was easy, clerk was wonderful and warm. When I got in the room the bathroom floor was still wet from cleaning and there was hair on the floor and in the shower. Tiny things, but important.
- 3/5
I needed wifi and they had none during my stay.
- 4/5
Fantastic staff and breakfast. The actual building doesn’t look like image online.
- 5/5
It is located in downtown and close to the university of Oregon. The staff is very very nice, initially he gave us a room facing the parking lot. I told him that I hope to get a room on the opposite (as I can not sleep well with the noise on the road, he changed the room for me. It is very quiet to stay in the hotel. The room is big, the shower and hot water are very good.
- 5/5
Pleasant stay, nice breakfast.
- 5/5
Great, comfortable hotel. It was clean and walkable to everything.
- 3/5
On the plus side, personnel were very pleasant, and accommodating. The room was large, bed was comfortable, and was easy access to the campus.
- 5/5

- 4/5
Great location, great locals, good sleep, needed a towel rack
- 5/5
It was a great stay and a fair price.
- 5/5
Great location close to everything we wanted to explore. The hotel was spacious, clean, and had everything we needed.
- 4/5
Very close to University of Oregon and many shops. Internet was spotty maybe because of tall buildings around us. Nice hotel.
- 5/5
great location for campus visits + track events
- 5/5
Nice vibe near university definitely be back
- 5/5
The lobby is like a comfy living room and the workers were all very friendly and easy going. The room had a refrigerator and microwave and lots of outlets. Everything was just easy and comfortable. Also, I really appreciated they let me check out late and just charged $10/hour for being late. A lot better than offering to store my luggage like most places do.
- 3/5
This place was ok. Clean & quiet. Good location. Nothing special.
- 5/5
Clean and quiet. Perfect for my one night stay.
- 5/5
Very condiment stay close to U of O. Breakfast is great for g dab and go. The outside lounge area is perfect for hanging out and stores/food in walking distance.
- 5/5
Fine
- 3/5
Bugs flying around, tub no draining, small shower, but bed was comfy and like that there was no carpet.
- 4/5
Comfortable and dog friendly
- 5/5
The staff was great, it was very clean and pretty quiet!
- 5/5
Great location near campus. Breakfast was well done for a very small space. Had all we needed.
- 5/5
We stayed two nights and found this hotel very nice overall. The room was mostly updated and the bed was very comfortable. There was an ice machine in the next building that was easily accessible and even had plastic buckets you could use (like in the old days!) in case your bottle or cooler didn't fit--it was a nice touch. The grab & go breakfast options were very good and the quality was good, too. My wife loved the coffee.
- 4/5
The property was nice however I wouldnt call it a hotel it was truly a motel but nice! Rooms are clean and well kept up! The office staff Tomara and kimmie were especially sweet welcoming friendly and made the whole experience so pleasant! They offered gluten free options for bfast which is always so appreciated! You could tell that they really wanted u to enjoy your stay! They greeted us in the morning with a smile and asked if everything was ok! Very close to the university so a good location for sure!!!all in all a good stay. Even gave our dog tam a treat dog which he loved!!!! Thanks much.
- 5/5
Great dog friendly hotel. Our room was really nice and the bed was super comfortable!
- 5/5
Staff was very kind and across the street from UO.
- 4/5
I’ve stayed here a couple times as a stopover while driving down the I-5 corridor. It’s a renovated motel. The rooms are clean and have a vintage vibe. Beds are comfortable enough. It’s nothing fancy, but it works fine as a clean place to get some shut eye without spending a fortune.
- 5/5
Excellent location, free oranges, craft beer available, and friendly hotel staff.
- 5/5
This hotel is nice but what made my stay worth five stars were the front desk employees. Dan greeted me on my arrival at o-dark-thirty and helped me get oriented, Tamara and Kimmie helped me figure things out when I checked out. But the real hero was Sejena who moved heaven and earth to troubleshoot a super buggy wifi network. GREAT people, pretty good facilities!
- 4/5
The breakfast options provided were surprisingly good.
- 2/5
There wasn't any vending machines tat 5
- 5/5
Great place, will stay again!
- 4/5
Fun stay near campus with lots of evening choices
- 5/5
Nicely kept up property; modern, clean finishes.
- 5/5
Quiet, clean and nice staff.
- 5/5
Nice, clean and very friendly staff
- 3/5
Stayed here for one night on a work trip. Property has done some nice renovations to the room and lobby area. However, the wifi was flaky to the point of being completely useless. I was not that far from the lobby either (room 204), so there should have been no reason for this. I mentioned this issue, but was told it was fine. I had to leave early the next day to go to Starbucks to get my work done. This will absolutely keep me from staying here again, sadly.
- 5/5
Loved the location . Safe clean and the breakfast was awesome. They had great gluten-free items.
- 5/5
Nice older hotel (motel) that has been redone. Beds are comfortable and it is in a great location near U of O.
- 4/5
Didn’t have a working tub or shower and didn’t find out till in the morning couldn’t get any money back because we booked third party!
- 4/5
Nicely spruced up motel very near UO (across the street). Some nice touches in the lobby and we got a good night sleep. We came to watch the marathon, and it routed directly behind the hotel around mile 10, which was a nice surprise.
- 5/5
Throughly impressed by this place, everyone was nice who I interacted with, fun place to be, plenty of amenities around. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Will be staying here again!
- 5/5
Great spot!
- 5/5
My stay was wonderful. Very comfortable, breakfast was great and staff was wonderful and very helpful.
- 5/5
The bed was new and so comfy. The lobby area inviting and they have a very nice breakfast section. Outside there is a cool space to sit and visit that has pretty foliage, nice chairs and fire pits. Also available are some yummy sounding craft beers and ciders. We will definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
This is a great place to stay. It’s right on busy Franklin Boulevard, but even though they have a nice little sitting area with a quality breakfast. Good staff and everything you can ask for in a hotel like this.
- 3/5
We were greeted by two receptionists who appear to be college-age with limited customer service experience- not friendly nor welcoming. The bed linen was scratchy and uncomfortable. We could hear the shower and faucet running from the room above us - water pipes were very loud and disrupted our sleep. Worst stay of our vacation and am not recommending this hotel.
- 5/5
We came in for a couple days to watch Ducks softball. Great location, friendly staff and breaky for on the go. Might be our go to hotel for next time
- 4/5
The breakfast was not inspired. really minimal. Coffee was good, which is always nice.
- 5/5
Check in was quick and easy. The continentsl breakfast was so much better than I expected!
- 5/5
Right across the street to the University which was perfect. Great customer service, free breakfast everyday. Overall we enjoyed our stay there and definitely be back again
- 4/5
Property was nice but a bit old. Some paint peeling, but the bed were fine. Nice breakfast in the morning. Looking for an inexpensive place to sleep and keep traveling, this is great!
- 5/5
Continental breakfast was superb - gf & df options and overall high quality choices. Friendly staff and perfect for walking over to the Matthew Knight Arena for shows/concerts. This was our 3rd stay.
- 4/5
Room was clean. Minimal housekeeping. Good front staff.
- 5/5
Nice property, clean room, spacious and comfortable bed, it was awesome that there was a refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker in the room, super fast walk to Matthew Knight Arena and continental breakfast
- 4/5
This is a nice hotel. The staff is friendly and breakfast is okay. The outside noise is not so great. People yelling, screaming at each other, the dump trucks are going around 4am.
- 5/5
The location is amazing especially if you are visiting the university which is located just across the street. The staff are super nice and friendly. I would stay here again!
- 3/5
It was rather loud in the building we stayed in. The beds are a bit soft. The property is nice, clean, and close to the college.
- 5/5
Great place to stay if you want to be close to U of Oregon campus.
- 5/5
It’s on a very busy street, but our room was on the back side facing a quiet alley. Quite a few restaurants easy to walk to. Breakfast was included with much better coffee than most hotels and good quality breakfast items. Recent remodel and updates made it quite comfortable.
- 5/5
Had a wonderful stay. The rooms were comfortable and clean and the staff was super friendly.
- 5/5
Awesome spot—as good as any major chain or better. Completely updated, well designed, thoughtful, spacious, and clean. Fantastic staff at the desk during the check in and check out process. Pet friendly! So many perks. I’ll be back next time I travel between Seattle and Sacramento. Thanks Maverick!
- 4/5
Convenient basic hotel near the university. It was simple but clean, clearly with some attempts to be trendy as well. It served it's purposes and we slept well.
- 4/5
We were told that breakfast was until 1030a but the lobby was locked up before that. My husband was just there to see what they offered, and nothing was said about closing early. Otherwise, we had an enjoyable time. The office staff at check in was very helpful
- 5/5
Great customer service
- 5/5
Awesome front desk service
- 5/5
Friendly staff and easy access to University and other Eugene attractions.
- 5/5
A nice little spot right by the college. Go ducks
- 5/5
Check in was easy, Staff were pleasant and location was perfect! Thank you.
- 5/5
Easy access for game at UO. Clean and nicely decorated. Will be back!
- 5/5
It was a great room and nice continental breakfast. Only suggestion is black out curtains to help keep light out from street lights. White curtain but not thick enough to darken room at night.
- 5/5
Stayed here while attending a sporting event at Oregon so it was super convenient to just be able to walk across the street to the arena. This hotel is an older property but has been renovated with kind of a neat southwest style. Clean, comfortable, and convenient.
- 5/5
It was quiet
- 4/5
Tammara at the front desk was very pleasant and helpful.
- 4/5
It was warm water at best.
- 5/5
Great location.
- 5/5
Super clean updated room. Very friendly staff!
- 5/5
Convenient to the University and walkable to Autzen. The room was clean and very comfortable and the coffee and grab & go breakfast made mornings easier.
- 4/5
The place clearly has older bones, but has been updated. Not too bad, I'd stay again. Guy at the front desk check in could have been clearer and friendlier, but acceptable.
- 5/5
Simple, Clean & Comfortable… great location for a fantastic UofO move-in weekend. Chose The Maverick based on the site & reviews and it exceeded expectations. Will stay for all our visits.
- 4/5
The room was noisy with the residents in the room above
- 4/5
An unexpected gem.
- 3/5
The service was very friendly. The bed fell apart in the middle of the night and made a loud clanking noise. Breakfast was minimum. I paid $330 for one night, most certainly not worth the price. They take advantage of people during certain college games or move-in. I will probably use another hotel next time
- 5/5
This was a very good stay for us. I enjoyed the staff - they were very good and accommodating! They were very flexible and friendly.
- 4/5
We would stay here again.
- 5/5
Great reception team - generous continental breakfast - clean and modern rooms
- 3/5
The weather stripping was missing from door. A big gap led to outside. Temperature hard to control, noisier, and bugs and light came right in the room. The shower was taped together and shower head was so low, I’m only 5’2” and I had to bend down a lot to wash my hair.
- 5/5
Nice beds
- 5/5
As expected and more. Staff at front awesome, great beer to buy, clean, parking and easy to get to university and downtown.
- 4/5
Pleasantly surprised about this hotel, it was cheap but really cozy and friendly stuff. room was better than expected. Breakfast options actually pretty decent and you can walk over the road for more options. easy walk around the park and Autzen stadium As well. Also found out it was Dog friendly which is always a plus
- 5/5
It was clean, effortless to find, and the Mexican restaurant in front of the hotel was delicious!
- 3/5
Not modern.

Staff at check in was not friendly at all. The place is cute in a good location. Floors need updating. Could use cream and sugar in rooms.

Greeted by friendly staff and cookies at check-in! Hotel is remodeled with comfortable beds and shower with good water pressure. Nice place to stay on our road trip.
