Motel 6 Enfield, CT - Hartford

If you want a motel that’s reasonable and close to SixFlags New England this is a great spot. Plus it’s extremely close to the good shopping stores in enfield too. With in walking distance to them.

The first floor corner room is perfect for a handicap person.The room was spacious with 2 comfortable queen beds.The AC worked well.The pillows were ok, the blanket was too thin. There 3 towels given for 2 people. You have to take towels to office to exchange for clean ones.The office is open until 9p, staff were nice.There is coffee available in the morning at the office.No maid service during 3 night stay.Ice machine on 1st floor and you need room key to enter.Free parking anywhere.No assigned space.Easy access.

The wifi was a bit slow and disconnected a few times, but suited my needs. It was difficult to get into the hotel wifi system, as the box to check to 'agree to terms' is so faded out, I had to bring my laptop to the front desk to have it pointed out to me. The person who was in the room ahead of me shaved at the bathroom sink. I know this because there were whiskers remaining surrounding the sink. The room looked clean enough, until I walked through a wet spot on the bathroom floor after washing up. The bottom of my socks were quite dirty after walking around the room.

Perfect spot right in Enfield, close enough to the speedway for Formula Drift, and every option of food really close by. Target being right around the corner to do some shopping.

Was perfect for what was needed. Went to Six Flags New England so the location was perfect.

However, the installation was haphazard. The bathroom door rubbed against the flooring; it will wear through in that spot before long. The bath water could not be turned on fully because the handle backing plate interfered with it. Modern laminate flooring is easy to clean, but you should actually clean it occasionally. Our socks got instantly dirty and our feet left dirt in the tubs. The interior was freshly painted, but poorly. There was paint splatter all over, and the room door seals were painted over. The exterior was painted and looked decent, but there was overspray all over the concrete walkways near the walls. The exterior was very well lit, but the curtains could not darken the room. (Masking tape helped seal them a bit) The rooms were supposed to be freshened Mondays and Thursdays. We stayed five days and never had this happen. On the plus side, they were happy to exchange towels if you took the old ones to the office. The worst for me was that the mattresses had a plastic cover over them, with a thin mattress cover on top. This made for a sweaty night's sleep. (I slept on a blanket and this helped a lot) Why did we stay? The price was low, we saw no bugs, the area had everything, and we weren't there much. So as long as you manage expectations, it's acceptable. YMMV.

The room was very clean and check-in was very easy.

Get in the room and the fridge was filthy! Left over used butter stick. Splatter of who knows what inside. Tried to call the front desk. Guess what?? No one answered. Tried 3 different times. And no they weren’t busy. Probably because they jacked up their room rates for that weekend due to the World Cup over and hour away. I will NEVER STAY NOR RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!! I’ll sleep in my car before that.

The only thing nice was the price. I am glad it was just myself and my son on this trip. Really not in a great area. Lots of police activity, an abandoned mall down the street with lots of late night activity after dark. Rooms were dirty. Bedding was clean, but found some hairs in the towels and the floor was covered in grit. Did not feel 100% safe at this location. Wifi signal did not reach the room reliably which made the television somewhat useless. Kept going from 1 bar to 0 and dropping connection constantly. On the plus lots of food options and shopping close by.

I think the light outside my room was far too bright and I could have used a fridge and a TV that had basic cable. But all in all, a comfortable place to lay one's head.
