No Netflix or streaming service. Additional charge of $25 or $40 for parking depending on if it was a convenient location. Breakfast quality was just ok. $268 for the night calls for a cappuccino machine - not happening. Coffee was less than ok. But it was a convenient location.

The location is good if arriving by Amtrak, there are several hotels in the area. Buffet breakfast included was average, pre cooked but plentiful. The bus stop around the corner on Shellmound convenient to get into San Francisco (F) but if arriving by Amtrak, they have buses which take you in if pre booked and you have a hotel booked there. Lots of restaurants nearby you can walk to. The WiFi is abysmal. The staff are disinterested in engaging with guests, there was an erroneous charge for drinks put on our room but removed when challenged.

"Unauthorized Charge After Checkout – Hyatt and Booking.com Need to Resolve This Together" I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Hyatt Place Emeryville and the way this billing dispute has been handled. I booked my stay through Booking.com (Confirmation Number: 6552063614) from May 15–19, 2026. However, I checked out early on May 17, 2026. At checkout, the hotel calculated my final balance, collected payment in full, and provided a final receipt and billing statement confirming that my stay had ended and all charges were settled. After I had already checked out and received a final paid receipt, an additional charge was processed without my authorization. This directly contradicts the final documentation issued by the hotel. When I contacted Hyatt Place Emeryville, I was told to resolve the matter with Booking.com because the reservation was made through a third-party platform. However, this response ignores the fact that the hotel itself accepted my checkout, finalized my account, and issued the final receipt. The disputed charge occurred after the hotel closed my folio. As a guest, I should not be caught between the hotel and Booking.com while both parties deny responsibility. The reservation may have been made through Booking.com, but the hotel managed the checkout process, issued the final receipt, and processed the charges. I am requesting that Hyatt Place Emeryville and Booking.com work together to investigate this matter, provide a detailed explanation for the post-checkout charge, and issue an appropriate refund if the charge cannot be justified. Until this issue is resolved, I cannot recommend this hotel due to the lack of accountability and the difficulty in obtaining a clear explanation regarding billing practices. Parking is $25 per day. The rooms have a Motion sensor light and power feature. This is really annoying because if you turn over in bed at night the lights come on. I tried every combination of turning the motion sensor off and it wouldn’t work as I liked. It would still shut off the lights after some time. Also very annoying was that when the power switches off your devices stop Charging. They say not to plug in your c-pap in certain outlets and I made sure my phone was on an outlet that would not cut off power- however that did not work either.

The breakfast was great. Everything else was just ok. It was the most expensive place we rated on our 30 day vacation but the place was showing age and the quilt should was terribly matted worn out and I insisted that it be removed. It was close to the train station. Bar not much.

Late check out is 1 pm no extra charge !! And free breakfast was a plus!! Room was clean properly stocked and building was clean gym was great variety of work out machines overall it was excellent!!! Will definitely stay again !

I had a seminar to attend at the hotel, so it was easy. They were helpful in letting me store my cooler behind the front counter until the end of the day. In general, staff were all really friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, with a sitting area and a very comfortable bed.

Excellent location near Bay St. Emeryville mall and Tokyo Central market, and not far from Berkeley which was our destination. Good size room and comfortable bed and sofa. Excellent selection and delicious free breakfast. Will definitely stay here again next time we’re in the area!

The room was more spacious than I expected, very clean, bright, and felt nicely updated. The location was great, within walking distance to a large shopping center. The included breakfast was also very good. I would love to come back if I travel to this area again.

To start off the hotel was good, but I was devastated by a situation that occurred where I was locked out of my room for some odd reason and if the staff in front was not available,(mind you this was after I had came back after a night out where I went to a concert. I arrived at the hotel at 2:30 AM) I would’ve been outside of my room for the whole night until God knows when and what was more mortifying is that there was people who were watching and seeing everything happen and there was drunk people coming in as well so my safety was on the line not only that, but to top it off, my stuff including my passport and my credit cards were all inside in the room, which I had no access to. I am so grateful for the lady in the front who went above and beyond to help solve this issue. Meanwhile, I waited almost 3 hours outside of the room which was unnecessary but all in all the hotel is nice but the staff needs to do a better job at registering and making sure this doesn’t happen to anybody else in the future

The thermostat is programmed for air conditioning between a certain temperature range. However, at night, we wanted to increase the temperature because the room was cold. It took a while to figure out how to turn on the heat.

The smell seeped into our room, and the noise from the hallway made it impossible for my son and me to get any sleep. We were in town for my son’s futsal tournament, and he had an early morning game at the indoor venue nearby. Instead of being able to rest and prepare, he felt suffocated by the smell and was exhausted the next day. I chose this hotel because of its positive reviews and convenient location, but our experience was the complete opposite of what was advertised. I brought the issue to the attention of the front desk, but nothing was done to address the smell or the noise. Overall, this stay was very disappointing, and I would not recommend this hotel to families, especially those traveling with children.

We had to inquire about it later in the evening and was told the parking behind the hotel was sold out so we had to park in the parking structure where all the doors were locked and we had to walk down the ramp.

In addition, when I asked for more than one bottle of water, I was told that only one complimentary bottle is provided per family per room. Overall, while the room quality was satisfactory, the service experience fell short of the standards I have come to expect from a Hyatt property, having stayed there numerous times in the past

We had a wonderful two nights stay at the hotel. The room is very clean and spacious. The gym room is quite big and is well equipped. We really liked the breakfast. Most importantly, staff was amazingly nice and friendly. We can’t wait to comeback.

On our second night there were some teenagers kicking doors. It was very frightening. We called the front desk. They said they went to check it out. We saw some teenagers in the hallway again and called. About 2 minutes later the fire alarm goes off. We are not sure if the teenagers pulled it or if there was a real fire. We all went out down the stairs and we tried to go back up the stairs, but there is no way to go back upstairs. This seems like a fire hazard to me. Each floor should have cameras so people could see what is going on. This is my second time staying there and I really liked it. Also, when I was checking out the lady at the counter was not courteous. She did not greet me or say goodbye.

Only one elevator worked while we were there, it took a long time. We were only able to use stairs to go down, there was no other way to get to our room.

The side tables were not clean properly. The sleeper sofa the cushions did not align so there was always a gap when sitting on it. The view of the room was a little scary because of the people doing graffiti in the back of the hotel. Also, there should be two curtains, one that is a little sheer to let light in, but still have privacy and another which is room darkening. The hotel lobby is beautiful.

Negative: Food is pretty bad. I had the turkey pesto (ok) and the chicken breast sandwich (awful). Thin chicken that must have been freeze-dried and then became leather. Fruit at breakfast would be nice, aside from green apple 3 days in a row.

Overall good stay, great options for the complimentary breakfast.

was manageable, it was not as comfortable as it should have been . I think fluffy blankets would help tremendously . Traveling with young children can be tricky at times so every bit of comfort helps especially during rest time. ;)

Being a Hyatt Advantage member I thought I would get a better view rather then looking at a construction site

Overall, perfect location. So many shops and restaurants within walking distance. The staff were always friendly and helpful. The rooms were average.

I stayed at this Hyatt Place for a week while recovering from a major surgery. I had limited mobility and was treated above standard by the staff. I was always greeted with kindness and offered additional support while accessing breakfast and just navigating the hotel daily. The maintenance staff was efficient and respectful while servicing my room daily. I was able to walk to several dining, shopping, and even grocery options nearby. I will stay here each time I visit San Francisco and Oakland from now on!

The room was big and clean. The bed was comfortable. Love the free breakfast. At breakfast my toddler son spilled milk, twice, and one of the ladies who worked at the kitchen was so nice and cleaned up the mess. Thank you!

Great service and a wonderful breakfast

Overall we had a good stay. There were a couple of annoyances but the service was great. Our TV only worked if someone reset the access card each time we turned it on and we only ever were given 4 towels. Some small details that made this a 4 star stay.

The immediate area around the hotel had a fair bit to offer. The staff was fine. The hotel could use a maintenance team, as a lot of things were not operational.

The rooms smells badly

This is the second time I stayed at this property in 9 months, and how the condition has deteriorated! The property command a kings ransom because it’s new and conveniently located, and it was worth it the first time I stayed there. This time, the staff is helpful, but I’m not sure about being friendly, maybe it’s my so cal mentality. The room is still clean but the amenities are in disrepair. The bathroom door lock is missing a handle. I locked the sliding door by turning the inner stem and almost locked myself in. The hairdryer has a plug that the housing is chipped and wires exposed. If management interested in which room, it was room 210. Breakfast was mediocre, like reheated, not fresh. For the price they charge, it’s really quite unacceptable.

Great stay here to attend a Cal graduation. Nice big room with a great bay view. Friendly staff and nearby restaurants and shopping was very convenient

Nice, clean, and safe

This was a nice hotel in a great location. I rated it very low on cleanliness because when my daughter tried to use the restroom, there was literally diarrhea in the toilet. I don’t know if the cleaning staff cleaned the toilet after the prior guest or if they’re the ones responsible for the mess. Also, the blanket on my son‘s fold out bed had pimple pads attached to it. The staff was not friendly at all. However, I will stay there again because of the location.

Great place to stay for a few days in the Bay Area with a small gym and breakfast.

Everything was clean and everyone was so kind including front desk staff, kitchen staff, and room service/ maintenance staff. Having a neurodivergent child, it is so pleasant having time to rest and enjoy a stay away from home. We will definitely be back.

Great location with view of the city

The property was in a great location, next to food and shopping. There are 2 parking options, you can park next door in the shopping center parking structure for $25 a night or the hotel parking lot which is $40 a night. We opted for the parking structure and all was fine. Breakfast was included in our stay and was great, there just wasn’t enough seating so make sure you get there early. Only the ice machine on the 2nd floor was working so we had to go downstairs to get ice since we were on the 4th floor. My main complaint is with check out, online checkout wasn’t available so the morning we were leaving I go to the front desk and tell the front desk person I was checking out. She asked for my id and card which I thought was weird, she told me breakfast was included in our stay and again I tell her were checking out and she says oh okay. She gives me my cards back and finishing and reminds of us breakfast again and I said yes but we are leaving! She again says okay and I leave. Turns out she charged us for our entire stay plus incidentals all over again!!!! It took us a week to get it refunded.
