Reviews
The hotel reviews are mixed, with guests praising the friendly staff, cleanliness, and comfortable beds, but also expressing dissatisfaction with various issues such as broken door locks, dirty rooms, and non-functioning WiFi. Some guests also complained about the size of the beds and the quality of the breakfast.
- Friendly staff
- Cleanliness
- Broken door locks and non-functioning WiFi
- Dirty rooms and small bed size

The staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel is clean. Beds and pillows are not comfortable.
- 3/5
Sitting chair had numerous stains, Bed extremely hard, tiny bed pillows. Electrical outlets did not work. Ice machine nonoperable. Very disappointed. Was expecting a NEW hotel.
- 2/5
A/C was not working, asked front desk to have someone look at it. They said maybe it’s coolant or froze so turn it off for an hour and see if it works. Never worked. That’s not great service. No ice in any of the ice machines. Buffet breakfast was a joke it’s not a buffet. I knew I should have stayed where I normally stay but decided to try something new never again.

We needed a stopover on our way from San Francisco to Grand Teton National Park—and a place that would accept dogs. Elkotel’s staffers were kind, the beds were comfortable, and the bathroom was clean. Only drawbacks: Breakfast was quite simple (and nothing gluten-free or vegan), and there’s no dedicated pet area (but there’s a great dog park near the freeway).
- 1/5
I was given a roon with no AC and told it wouldn't be bad. The last room available so i accepted. It was. Dogs barking outside all night. No person at the front desk to speak to. Generally the worst experience we have had
- 2/5
The room needed repair. The shower head fell off. Walls were patched but not painted.
- 3/5
The hotel was comfortable but the shower faucet fell off in my hand and the tub is slippery, never got any kleenex, and breakfast was about as mediocre as it could be. Will I stay again maybe it was comfortable.
- 1/5
The bathroom floor was full of hair, the tub looked at though somebody had gutted their Elk in the room, stained tub floor and more hair in the shower. The ice maker was making a horrible noise and the front staff said "it isn't my problem and I can't do anything about it, the maintenance person has left for the day". I would not recommend this place to anyone. They say "The newest hotel in Elko" but that doesn't make it nice, clean or a good place to stay.
- 2/5
Checked in @ 10pm set a/c to 68 and went to bed woke up 2 hours later room was hot set thermostat to 65 woke 4:30am sweating, realized a/c was running but no cool or cold air, called the front desk no answer tried again same. Tried to open window, would only open 2 inches. Horrible night sleep. Spoke with front desk @ 8:00am and said don’t rent 311 again till you fix the a/c. I then said we were returning through here on our trip home in about two weeks. I think they should comp us a room for the night rest we didn’t get. The front desk person said our corporate person is gonna be through in about an hour. I’ll talk to him and give you a call. Let me check and make sureI we have a good number. Guess what no call no text, no email. Every business has problems, how we handle the problem is generally more important than the problem.
- 3/5
understaffed for breakfast, food ran out. Poor Internet service in back rooms of hotel.
- 5/5
Over all everything pretty good.
- 4/5
I didn't like that there was no fan in the bathroom, 2 of the lamps in my room didn't work and the coffee maker was missing the tray that holds the coffee bag. The staff was excellent though and brought me a replacement lamp and coffee maker. The staff member that came to my room was very kind and helpful. I really appreciated her pleasant and helpful attitude. Sometimes things go wrong and that can't be helped but to have a helpful, kind staff member that is willing to fix the problems makes all the difference. I am happy with my stay. I would stay here again. Thank you!!

I booked for a King bedroom , a double bedroom and a sofa bed for 4 people. I ended with one king bedroom and A chair with an ottoman.
- 3/5
Easy to find off freeway . Not very good breakfast. Our room smelt like paint
- 3/5
My black out curtains did not cover the entire window, the furniture was badly damaged, and there were watermarks all over the counter tops. It was okay for the night but I wouldn’t have stayed any longer.
- 4/5
Friendly staff, lots of trash outside and no where for my dog to relieve herself, but otherwise great
- 2/5
Property bills itself as the newest in town; however, it was a disappointment. Better management with attention to detail could make a difference.
- 5/5
Check in lady was wonderful!
- 3/5
It was fine. Not super clean and the key card side door was not locked at all - seemed like a security issue. The only ice machine that worked was on the 3rd floor at the end of the hallway. The pictures make it look better than it really is, which was disappointing.
- 5/5
It was ok
- 2/5
I stayed in room 331, and the shower head was broken.
- 4/5
The outside of the property is not conducive for pets.
- 4/5
Hotel is just ok
- 4/5
The interior of the property is very nice, clean and well appointed, the exterior of the property is an absoult wreck, garbage and dog waste EVERYWHERE. Have some pride and respect and clean it up, first impressions matter and if I had just driven up and was not committed by a previous reservation I would have turned around and left. Lazyness abounds.
- 5/5
Perhaps, could have better landscaping at entrance of hotel.
- 5/5
staff and value all good
- 3.5/5
Checking in, the staff were nice. The maids didnt clean our room on the second day, not sure if it was because we stayed 2 nights? Or because we were still in the room (?), but I would think they would have came back around to clean the rooms they skipped ?
- 5/5
Lady at the front desk was so-so, nice, but a little annoyed that I was asking some questions. Still service was good. Breakfast was okay, not great but okay. The area is nice, good location and a lot of things that are within walking distance and if you feel like driving, it’s pretty central
- 3/5
As far as the property is concerned, I was quite irritated that people are allowed to stay in their cars with their animals but I have to pay for a room? Seems more like motel 6 behavior which is right next door. There was a late model gold/brown Tahoe in the parking lot that someone was clearly living in and a broken down old car with a flat tire and 4 dogs in it, right outside my room window. How did no one notice this as it definitely wasn’t the first day in was parked there? The dogs would bark when someone would walk by. I was hoping this was a fluke and not a normal thing at this hotel as I don’t like staying in Casinos and their busy parking lots. Well I stayed again 3 weeks later and at least the car with a flat tire was gone but the Tahoe was still camped out in the parking lot. I’d stay at Shutters just down the road instead. Just as clean, new and nice but no one camping out in parking lots .
- 4/5
Address on the website needs updted. There wa no hotel at that location.
- 3/5
Great spot but promoted as a pet place and there was zero grass around the property, a bunch of dirt, tall weeds and grass. The abandoned hotel next to it had a full field of grass so had to walk over there
- 4/5
Clean. Bathtub is seriously slippery. The water should be drained better. Trash can in the lobby is always full. Breakfast has eggs (powdered) , bagels and some juice.
- 0.5/5
Location had easy access to the highway, grocery stores and meal options. We appreciated the information at the front desk about restaurants in the area. Total lack of customer service. When we arrived the receptionist had no idea how to use the computer system so checkin took almost 30 minutes. In the morning the receptionist disappeared for over 45+ minutes at 6AM so we could not check out and no-one was around to help all the frustrated people who wanted coffee and to check out. The receptionist put up a sign to call a number that went to voicemail. The hotel didn't have anyone manning the breakfast area. The eggs and meat at breakfast were ice cold, and absolutely NO coffee even at 6:00AM. NOT a good experience and we would NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone when they provide such terrible customer service.
- 5/5
Everything was good. Bed sheets were quite stiff and rough.
- 3.5/5
Had to get down and crawl under a table to plug in the coffee maker.I didn't. Went without coffee in the room. Breakfast was mediocre at best with no bacon available at 9 am Price did not match the quality.
- 5/5
👍👍👍👍👍
- 2/5
The room was clean and comfortable. We arrived in the dining area 1/2 hour after it opened and there was no coffee! I overheard the one other couple that was in the dining room ask the desk clerk how long they would need to wait for more coffee. They were told about 10 minutes. Meanwhile the desk clerk remained talking on the phone with no effort to see about the coffee. I wanted to have a bowl of cereal for breakfast, No spoons! I decided to try my luck with the clerk. I interrupted her phone conversation to ask for a spoon. She said it would be a minute. I waited 10 minutes and finally asked if I could go into the kitchen area to get a spoon. She replied , “go for it” and resumed talking on the phone! Meanwhile the other couple and my husband and I are still waiting for some coffee. When I inquired about the coffee, the clerk told me she was talking on the phone! She finally got off the phone to make some coffee. It had been 1/2 hour done the other couple had asked about it. VERY POOR customer service!
- 5/5
They just need a little grass for the pups to go potty vs Junegrass.
- 1/5
At 4:30am, several guests were apparently leaving or just going in and out of their room, waking up those trying to sleep. The doors slam close every time. There were some type of crumbs on the floor by the headboard and there was one washcloth in the room for two people. There was no one at the front desk when checking out and there were no clear instructions on how to check out. This is the first time I have ever left a hotel before 7am and I will not be back.
- 2/5
Maintenance did not respond at any time. The plank of wood running the desk did not respond. It’s one of those situations where everything is a struggle. Want a wake up call? You had better set an alarm. Something not working? Don’t bother staff because you are stuck.
- 1/5
There's nothing to like about this hotel except that the room was clean. The condition of our first room was horrible. The curtain had holes in it. The lights and sockets didn't work. Including our TV. We had asked for maintenance to come and fix the issues, and they said they would be there in a few minutes. We stuck around for over an hour, and they never showed up. We asked for another room and ended up having to pay an additional 185.00 for the upgraded room that actually worked. Getting towels and rags took an act of God. They only provided enough for 1 person, even though we stipulated the occupancy was 2 persons for the room. After all this took place in a span of 4 days, we were then charged an additional 135.00 2 days after we had checked out. The establishment can't explain the charge. We are currently disputing this with our bank. Please don't stay here, just keep driving by.
- 4.5/5
Cozy feel nice breakfast friendly staff They did a great job but looked like they could use some more help at the front desk and the kitchen. Otherwise it was awesome.
- 2.5/5
There was only 1 washcloth for 2 people and no tray to put the coffee in the coffee maker. Dish network is terrible for choices on the TV
- 5/5
Very nice
- 4/5
Quiet and comfortable
- 4.5/5
This Hotel is by far the nicest in ELKO that I have stayed at so far.
- 5/5
Clean, quiet and comfortable room. Staff welcomed us with great pleasantries. Enjoyed our stay, would recommend.
- 2.5/5
Breakfast was ok, typical motel breakfast. Although our room seemed clean, the property didn’t appear clean. The trash bin at the entrance was overflowing when we arrived and had not been emptied when we checked out. The hallway carpet needed vacuuming. The weeds are out of control!
- 4/5
Nice hotel with very open and nice entry way for checking which was the same room area as the breakfast. It was pet friendly and we had our dog but the grounds outside the Hotel were less than desirable for a pet. There is no grass at all and the weeds all around were very tall, so my dog did not want to walk and do business within the very tall weeds. We had to drive to a park to take her out for potty breaks. Other than this, the Hotel was nice.
- 3/5
Newer place and clean but needs the small touch up stuff. WiFi was weak on 3rd floor. If you’re looking for a clean cheap place to shower and sleep this is it.
- 3/5
Hallways could use cleaning, third floor looked like a storage unit. There was painters tape left on the ceiling. The furnishings are pretty but the place could use organization of the property and staff.
- 4/5
This property is worth a second stay. We enjoyed the spacious rooms and the beautiful, updated decor. The staff was exceptionally welcoming, friendly, and helpful, both at check-in and check-out. The area that I would recommend updating is the outside areas. From the street, we worried that we had made a poor choice when we saw the lack of landscaping. Weeds and overgrown plants were all over the property, leaving us with a sense of a lack of care. This isn't the impression they want to make, I am certain. Also worth mentioning, the rooms with 2 beds say DOUBLE and they are in fact double/full-size beds, NOT QUEEN. If this matters to you, they are smaller.
- 1.5/5
Pot smoke by employees and maintenance and people staying - NON smoking hotel
- 5/5
Clean room, Air conditioning kept the room nice and fresh.
- 2.5/5
Seemed nice enough, nothing stood out as fantastic. The holding charge for incidentals was higher than the other two hotels I stayed at combined for this trip. That alone will make it so I won't stay at this hotel again.
- 3.5/5
Easy to find. Great pizza place across the street. Comfortable bed! Very nice staff, especially maintenance guy who tried to fix the tv. The tub was very slippery! Could have used a mat to put down. Breakfast wasn’t great : eggs watery, very small toaster - could have used two. Coffee like brown water. TV didn’t work; maintenance Nan tried but took too long, as we needed to eat & get to sleep. There were 3 other rooms with tv problems too. Need a better cable/tv system!
- 4/5
This motel was beautiful on the inside. Price was reasonable but it felt high end. The only thing I didn’t like was that it was so hot in the room and the AC/Heater would not work. The knobs were taken out so I could not turn it on or adjust the temp. Thank god the window was able to open. I opened the window all night and that was how we stayed cool throughout the night. Also bed was not the most comfortable that’s a big thing for me. Over all it was a presants stay for me. Single mom with 4 kids so I always struggle to find rooms to accommodate all of us with a reasonable price point. This fit the bill. I still will definitely stay there again. I feel like this will be our go to.
- 3.5/5
People working there were lovely as is the rest of the property. Decorated well. Hot breakfast was good. Housekeeping needs work. Hairs in the shower, no grabbbar in the ADU shower, blood on the sheets. I spoke to them about the problems and they were receptive.
- 4/5
Staff was very friendly, not many outlets in the room. Breakfast was good.
- 3/5
Room floor is buckling. Toilet roll holder as broken (we fixed it)
- 5/5
Very clean and the breakfast was great The staff was very nice and helpful
- 5/5
Perfect stay, clean, fresh, and quiet. Plus no fee for pet dog.
- 4/5
Great location and good size room. Lighting in room was dim and we were back by the freeway so it was noisy.
- 3/5
The room was fine. The staff was a single person and I was standing at the desk for a while before the girl came out to check me in. I understand that there are other issues going on but I should not have to stand around like an ass and be made to feel worse because of staffing issues. the hotel protects its assets and issues, collects a deposit at the desk without fail but the hotel does not consider the guest. I am after all, the pain in the fanny they grow off.
- 5/5
Helpful staff, nice breakfast and very comfortable beds!
- 2/5
The hotel room was disgusting. The shower had some type of gray crust on it. And on both showerheads.. There were crap stains on the toilet seat. The fan nor the heat lamp worked either. The bed was so worn to one side, we tried to turn it and flip it. Me nor my wife got any sleep. The pillows are about 12” square. The plug in the lamp was so loose, it was like a prostitute in Vegas after a night when the economic conference is in town. Yeah, that loose! When I showed the front desk clerk the next day the photo of the shower she just shrugged it off. That was the end all for me and the reason for the review.
- 2/5
Staff was very hard to deal with. I informed them over 24hrs in advance that I would be checking out early. The one staff member told me I would get a refund. I wanted to make sure they knew so I told them again the morning I was leaving which was still 24hrs before checkout and the lady informed me that I would not receive a refund, I spoke with her and said the other lady said I would because I gave enough time. The lady the night before changed my reservation so I would get a refund. Then the manager was talking to the lady from her office, she never even came out of her office and said absolutely not. Change it back. Worst customer service I’ve ever dealt with.
- 4/5
The room needed to be swept again, there was dog hair on the floor. The property really needs a designated place for dogs to use for a bathroom, there was just gravel with rocks. Also please get full size pillows for a king size bed lol
- 3/5
Breakfast consisted of muffins or toast. Staff unfriendly and lazy. Room was clean. Property needs a lot of exterior work, most businesses surrounding the hotel are vacant and vandalized.
- 5/5
I have stayed here multiple times in the last year and I have loved it every time. The staff is so friendly and helpful, the rooms are beautiful and clean, and honestly I have never had a negative experience. My family loves Elkotel!
- 5/5
Very easy access to the freeway
- 5/5
Great breakfast host
- 5/5
Great food
- 3/5
They DO NOT have any well equipped pet friendly guests room. On Expedia, it said pet friendly.
- 5/5
Great choice. The price was good and the hotel wonderful. Captured the vibe of Elko Nevada.
- 5/5
It was super comfortable, quiet (perfect for sleep) and the shower was awesome. It was very clean and very good for the price.
- 5/5
Everything was perfect. The hotel is beautiful and you can tell it's new. The people are very friendly and they do their job perfectly. They have a large and large parking lot. The hotel is very quiet and quiet. We slept like little angels. Perhaps the only thing that would improve a little is the cleaning of the bathroom floor. Nothing more to say or correct.
- 4/5
Clean room, check-in staff was side-tracked and a little curt.
- 2/5
The room was at the end and quiet but at 1 am they moved a family of 18 to all the room next to me and it took over an hour screaming kids banging it was awful the lady at the desk the next day responded to my email she was amazing moved me to an upgraded room didn’t let them move anyone above me and kept it quiet for the rest of my stay. She went above and beyond to make sure they fixed the issue. So if it wasn’t for her I would never go back.
- 5/5
Fresh but very limited. AC was fine
- 5/5
Clean and new property with basic breakfast.
- 3/5
Once she walked into the hotel, it is very nice. The room was clean however the pillows were flat. There was also no ironing board, iron and no blow dryer in the room. The showerhead in our bathroom was broken. There was two showerheads, but the main one was broken.
- 3/5
Elkotel was very clean and the decor was extremely nice. The breakfast was decent. My only issue is that the bed was hard and quite uncomfortable.
- 3/5
Microwave kept turning off
- 5/5
Room large and clean Very quiet
- 5/5
clean room, friendly staff
- 4/5
Bring you pillow. Very small and few
- 5/5
One of the best hotels on our roadtrip, definitely will come
- 5/5
Everything was excellent’
- 5/5
Place is very clean and comfortable. Staff is very friendly. Close to restaurants and shops. We've stayed here twice this year and will again. Very close to high school jf your kid is playing in a sport.
- 5/5
Beautiful lobby, nice breakfast, no charge for pets, comfortable beds. Highly recommend if you need an overnight stop in Elko.
- 2/5
The beds are super hard and uncomfortable but staff were friendly and nice
- 5/5
Staff was lovely and helpful. The room itself was lovely, the pillows specifically were the best. The gym was a little lacking but for a quick workout it's fine.
- 5/5
Clean, easy access, close to food options.
- 5/5
Hotel was very clean and staff was very friendly. Bed and billows were very comfortable. Loved that there was no carpet in the room.
- 4/5
The bed is not very comfortable and better pillows would be nice
- 3/5
Location is about perfect for business in town.
- 4/5
The room was clean and updated, and the staff were very nice. The only issue we had was that the breakfast was really lacking.
- 1/5
We tried the place 2 times. For a place that was just re-vamped it wasn't a pleasant stay either time.
- 4/5
Very good. Staff was nice. Room was clean and roomy. Very dog friendly. Only detractors were that the washing machines were out of service and the eggs were cold. I would stay here again.
- 5/5
nice, clean rooms. good breakfast. helpful, friendly staff. good location.
- 5/5
Clean room, nice shower, very quiet, friendly staff.
- 5/5
I absolutely love staying here. It is my go to hotel every time I come to Elko. It is clean, the beds are great, there is great coffee in the lobby 24/7, and the breakfast is always good!
- 4/5
Staff was very good. Rooms were upgraded from previous.
- 5/5
Awesome
- 3/5
There was no hot water at night or in the morning. When she asked at the front desk I told her no hot water, night or morning and she said I’m sorry we were really busy last night and full…
- 3/5
Room was ok and staff was ok. I maybe expected it to be a little nicer from the pictures.
- 5/5
Super friendly to dogs!
- 5/5
Staff friendly, Room very clean.
- 5/5
It was an awesome stay good people and service
- 5/5
Yes
- 5/5
The hotel is beautiful, the rooms were clean. I am picky, and I will definitely be staying here again in the future! Pet friendly which is a plus!
- 5/5
Clean room, excellent breakfast, very nice employees. Wonderful stay!
- 3/5
The staff were courteous and helpful. Sad reality is the TV in the room didn’t work. We requested a different room and they said they didn’t have it in yet. I don’t think when we left early in the morning there were 10 cars in the parking lot so either they’re under construction and they didn’t have anything or they weren’t supporting us in all our needs
- 5/5
If you're traveling across the US on Highway 80, and need a place to spend a night, this is where you want to be!! Elkotel is a diamond in the rough--a lovely little boutique hotel hidden among the usual Comfort Inn, Motel 6 and the like. The rooms are well-appointed and have a glamorous, mid-century vibe. Price per night is super reasonable and it's close to a great pizza joint, Albertson's grocery and Dollar Tree to list a few. I highly recommend.
- 4/5
Clean room and staff were great
- 5/5
Breakfast was a little late but delicious. We were trying to leave early but wanted to eat before we left. Place was good option. I will visit again if I’m in the area again.
- 3/5
I didn’t have hot water
- 3/5
Bring your own pillows. Everything was clean.
- 5/5
The motel was beautiful calm and relaxing. Nice and quiet. All the staff was wonderful, informative as well as very helpful. Breakfast was ok but blah, has great potential.check in and out was a breeze. Everyone staff and guest were very friendly. Seen lots of dogs with owners wandering outside but never heard one inside like i usually do.

* Front desk lady earned 1 star otherwise review would be lower. I thought overall the staff was very friendly and accommodating *location is right next to everything * heater worked good Ok those are the positives. Ill list a video and phito to show im not exaggerating what im saying. Negatives: *walls so thin i could litterally hear the next door neighbor grunting as he took a poop. I could litterally hear the door everytime someone walked into the hotel. I was woken up to at 12 pm to vaccuming that didnt stop until 6pm. I was able to hear the entire cleaning routine because there is legit no sound proofing at all. * motel 6 is half the price and was more comfortable even being an older hotel. Im not exaggerating that i stayed at both back to back. Motel 6 was nicer and right next door. Tried this one my last 2 nights to have a qoute nicer room. * breakfast was ok i say ok because you had variety however no bacon. Eggs were so watered down sausage was as out of a microwave as it gets. Lets just say i was awake both days in time for breakfast. I ate it once and that was enough for me to not want it again * toilet wouldnt flush *im a respiratory therapist so i can say this. Those thin scratchy blankets you get in a hosptial is what you get here no extras at all in room one thin ass blanket. Motel 6 actually has real blankets.... * this was by far the worst showering experience i have ever had. I took a picture to show you what it looked like.

The room I had (204) was great, remodeled bath was nice. The staff is EXCELLENT - special shout to Fernanda, Jasmine, and Danielle for going above and beyond to assist us with a personal issue that arose during our stay. Thank you ladies for making it extra special!

Very clean and updated hotel for a great price. Convenient stop right near the freeway access.
- 4/5
Rough part of town, not necessarily the fault of the hotel, but still a bit disconcerting. Wouldn't want to stay there for any length of time.
- 4/5
Have stayed before and will stay again
- 4/5
Fitness room not clean, no extra pillows or blankets. Friendly staff
- 5/5
Great staff, clean updated room
- 2/5
Would not stay if I was paid to!!!!
- 3/5
Adequate but not excellent. Understaffed
- 2/5
hotel and rooms look nice but the rooms were dirty. Dirt/dust in the corners, AC/heat filter extremely plugged, hair on floor. Few things that need to be addressed.
- 4/5
Good hotel quiet clean
- 5/5
Great attention to interesting details and nicely attentive to pets! Pets have an automatic bowl at the water fountain.
- 5/5
The staff is nice and friendly. The facility is new. The bathroom is spacious.

I’ve stayed at the Elkotel 4-5 times over the past couple of years. It has declined bit by bit over the years. There was a missing light bulb from the bathroom, only one wash cloth, no Kleenex, the shower smelled like mildew, there wasn’t any body wash, the tv console was pulled 6” away from the wall, the refrigerator was not very cold with a lot of condensation it, there were moldy oranges in the fruit basket for breakfast.
- 5/5
Nice room, clean and comfy beds!
- 5/5
This is a newly remodeled hotel property but done well. Everything is new, clean and modern. Hotel stay was friendly and helpful.
- 4/5
Check in was fantastic. She was a new gal but was wonderful and so kind. The hotel was great for us and our pups. Cleanliness could be improved but for a pet property we weren’t upset. All in all a good valued stay.
- 1/5
The chair in the room was not comfortable. The sun was shining in the morning because curtains didn’t not provided enough coverage. It was the weekend not enough food for the continental breakfast.
- 3/5
When we arrived to check in at 3, no one was at the desk so i had to wait at least 5 minutes before they showed up. Overall the room was clean but it definitely was not a new hotel. The outlets by the bed didn't work. The breakfast eggs and sausage were not hot and the waffle maker wasn't turned on, which i didn't realize until after i filled it and flipped it to start. Not impressed.
- 5/5
We were extremely comfortable in Elkotel and were amazed at the cleanliness and front desk staff. My boyfriend lost his hearing aid and the clerk raced upstairs and pulled apart the room. She did not find it - but she found my earring!! We returned.......and found the hearing aid near where we parked. We were stunned! But the clerk made our day!
- 5/5
Very clean new hotel, very nicely furnished. Delicious breakfast, friendly, professional staff. Great value!
- 4/5
Very comfortable beds. Good linens. Lamps flickered on high but made good night lights.
- 5/5
I truly enjoyed my stay! The decor was really nice in the room and in the public area. People were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good with all the necessary breakfast options. I will definitely stay at this hotel again. It was modern and clean.

We went for the weekend for a wedding. We were extremely disappointed in this hotel. Our bed had dog hair all over it. The floor was dirty and full of dog hair, there was no iron or ironing board in the room. The bathroom faucet is falling off. The smoke detector was chirping. The air conditioner smelled like wire burning. That was the room. Room 306. The breakfast was awful, cold eggs and sausage. The coffee creamer had spoiled and was not changed out when told. There was no one to answer the front desk phone to handle issues. When I arrived to check in I waited over 10 minutes for someone and the only words the guy said to me was elevator is on the other side of stairs. I will be going back to Shutters up the road on my next trip. They need better, friendlier and more efficient staff in order for this place to not have its rating totally tank!! Owners hold your staff accountable.

Called to say I was arriving late
- 5/5
Great stop after a long day of driving. Staff friendly. Breakfast hot & fresh (6am)
- 4/5
It was quiet and convenient place to stay
- 4/5
I was a little skeptical about staying here. I was very much surprised at how much I liked it. They are in the process of renovating the rooms. There are some of the areas that needed some attention in cleanliness. Mostly the bathroom on the main floor. Whoever is painting the rooms let paint drip on the marble in the bathroom of the room we had. It bothered me enough to scrape it off so it looked better. You are welcome. The room was spacious, the AC was quiet and worked well, The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was quite nice. If I come back this way and have need to stay in Elko I will pick this place for sure.
- 5/5
Nice hotel with friendly staff
- 5/5
Great hotel! Very clean and friendly staff! Will stay again!
- 4/5
Breakfast area dirty, not just the typical food on the floor from breakfast but cupboards and baseboards really dirty. Cobwebs from the hall lights on the 3rd floor where our room was.
- 1/5
Besides being an older place with a basic facelift and not what the online photos look like upon check in they didn’t have electricity and didn’t have an estimated time of it restored. As I explained I needed power to work and needed to find an alternate place to stay they would not guarantee me a refund. When you book a room you expect basic amenities to be available, electricity being one. Staff was unorganized and unhelpful and not able to out me or anyone else checking in in contact with management. Find another place to stay in Elko.
- 3/5
We felt it was somewhat dilapidated
- 5/5
Nice hotel, friendly staff, and close to restaurants and shops. The beds were comfortable and there was a decent free breakfast. We had two dogs with us. Our room was on the second floor and the elevator wasn’t working, which made it a little challenging for our three-legged pup and getting our stuff and the doggie stuff in and out. Overall great option in Elko that is pet friendly.
- 5/5
Nice place
- 5/5
Recently renovated.
- 5/5
Very nice hotel at a great price!
- 5/5
Very reasonable, nice breakfast
- 2/5
When pull up the king sofa was with crumbs no sheets only 1 pillow for it, Was very difficult to get a iron requests by the front desk were difficult were fast through cleaning ladies
- 3/5
We barely had any towels. Our tv didn’t work and had to get it fixed multiple times. They ran out of supplies and breakfast was a cluster. They ran out of most of the food before 9 am. Not great coffee pots in the rooms and it took forever to heat the shower. Staff was very nice and helpful but the facility itself needs better management. They even ran out of toilet paper
- 3/5
The property and room were okay. Just average. Chirping smoke detector in neighboring room for both nights we stayed even after bringing it to the front desk attention.
- 1/5
Front windows were covered in cobwebs. Main lobby had no A/C. Walking to our room we seen nothing but drywall patch work that wasn’t bothered to be paint matched. More holes in the wall in our room with horrible patch work. The bed sunk in the middle bad. We had short black hair on our bedding and my wife was constantly pulling hair off the chair as she tried to sit down to feed our baby. There was a wet piece of toilet paper right on the tv stand. The pillow cases needed to just been thrown out, a couple of them had a dirty yellow tint to them and didn’t even match the white comforter. The lamp shades were also stained and the chair at the desk looked so rough I thought it came from a thrift store. You can tell they had done some remodeling so pictures look good. But it’s like they had a friend that could do the remodel cheaper than a contractor and it shows. Decided after 30 minutes we weren’t going to spend the weekend there from how bad our room was overall and asked to check back out in hopes of getting some sort of money back to offset booking another room. They lady behind the desk was nice and told us she’s put in a request but we were denied.

We had issues with the TV working in our room. The front desk brought a new remote and plugged in a loose cable. The new remote would not control the Volume or on/off. We had to unplug the tv to turn it off. Also had very dim lighting in the room. Three lamps with 25w bulbs and one lamp had to be plugged in and bulbs tightened to get it to work. Had to be unplugged to turn off. None of the USB plugs available worked. Staff was friendly, room was clean.
- 5/5
Very comfortable, clean rooms close to downtown and close to interstate friendly staff
- 4/5
Shower needs safety bars and shower head options. Breakfast is fine. Front desk staff not always available.
- 5/5
This was one of the largest and most comfortable affordable hotel rooms we've ever stayed in. It was such an amazing stop on the road trip. Only strange things were the lack of dish soap and kitchen towel since there's a mini kitchen.
- 5/5
loved it
- 4/5
The rooms are beautiful. Housekeeping missed some items like leaving toilet paper and shower soap but staff brought TP when requested. The fitness room had a bike that had no power and the tv appeared to not be hooked to cable (but that could be user error).
- 4/5
The property is beautiful. Enough room to stretch out and relax in the rooms. Love the couch and chairs and kitchenette.
- 5/5
wonderful boutique hotel
- 1/5
Had to move to 5 different rooms to find one where everything worked. Still had multiple issues throughout the night.
- 5/5
Excellent hotel
- 3/5
It took 30 minutes to check in. We had no hot water until 9pm. Had no bath soap or toilet paper.
- 1/5
The hotel is renovated, and looks nice, but they ran out of toilet paper, several people in our party didn't have showers and toilets that functioned and my TV was broken and they told me *I* needed to pull out the dresser and try to fix it myself. Another guest in our party had a half made or half undone bed when they walked into their room and someone else had a half renovated, half not room. Front desk staff was incredibly rude and disrespectful. Check in and check out was way more complicated than it needed to be. It was just a horrible stay all the way around. I will never stay here again and would recommend looking into a different place if you're coming to Elko.
- 5/5
Comfortable, clean and nice staff. Great location.
- 4/5
Great place to stay that welcomes dogs.
- 5/5
Overall, this was a very nice hotel. We, unfortunately, got a room next to one of the exits and across the hall from the ice-machine, so it was a bit noisy throughout the night. But, still, we enjoyed our stay and especially thought the staff was super friendly.
- 5/5
Dog friendly. Dogs stay for no extra fee. No carpeting in rooms makes for a much cleaner and more pleasant stay.
- 4/5
A clean, modern hotel - but also quite basic in facilities. (E.g., my room had a coffee maker, but no coffee, nor any paper cups.) The breakfast was mediocre. However, the WiFi was reliable and fast, so that's good enough for me.
- 1/5
Bed wasn’t made when I checked in, told the hotel and they never came to finish making up the room.
- 3/5
Needs air conditioning in the lobby, ice machines, softer beds and repair the elevator.
- 4/5
Woman at check in was very friendly.great price for clean, average accommodation. Needs more pillows offered.
- 5/5
The receptionist was great, very nice. The room is excellent. The only issue is the breakfast. We ate at 7:30 and there was no food. No one is watching the replenishing the food and coffee. The staff was asked about it but was so slow in adding more food. We waited another 30 minutes but still no one came to add more despite being asked about it.
- 5/5
It was a fantastic experience. We will be back.
- 3/5
Bedding was passable, no telephone, tv did not work, Wi-Fi was poor - but the person at the desk was very helpful.
- 1/5
I would not reccomend staying here. I was traveling through Nevada with my 11 year old son and dog and booked here last minute. The hotel desk clerk were dressed very casual and not very friendly- unprofessional. The clerk checking me in had to ask the other clerk about a few rooms to see if they were even available. After about 15 minutes of checking she finally asked if the room they had for me was clean. Just to note, I arrived 4 hours after the "check in" time. The plastic key card handed to me was filthy dirty which left me wondering what the room would look like. When I went to the parking lot to unload our bags and dog we encountered individuals doing illegal activity and made us feel very unsafe. At that point, I decided to book elsewhere on my own. We were extremely dissappointed with our experience and will not book here again.
- 3/5
Pillows are cheap and useless. Couldn’t run AC as fan so loud and unit outdated
- 4/5
We really appreciated that they were able to create a fragrance free room for us!!!
- 5/5
Great place to stay as I was driving through Elko
- 4/5
Easy to find, conveniently located in town
- 3/5
The front staff wasn’t very friendly, the outside parking are was dirty, but the hotel room was actually really nice.
- 4/5
Recently remodeled and good for the price.
- 4/5
Comfortable and clean room
- 5/5
Breaksfast is very good.
- 4/5
This place was a decent hotel. Clean and pet friendly. Not familiar with the area around it, but seemed a little sketchy. Room had been recently renovated but furniture and decor was kinda ghetto fabulous lol
- 3/5
Overall it was just ok. There was no one at the front desk when we arrived. The number they left for us to call must have been a cell phone for the person working and was not answered. We yelled out “hello” multiple times and a housekeeper finally acknowledged us. It was several minutes until the person working came out from the back room - with earbuds in so he couldn’t have heard us at all. This soured us on the entire stay.
- 5/5
There are many hotels here but this spot was reasonable, clean and did not smell of cigarettes
- 3/5
I could not connect to Wifi, other than that everything was fine.

Advertised as a 3 star hotel, but more like a 2 star. It's obviously been renovated, but slopily. The furniture was dented, painters tape on the walls, leaking shower, broken ice machine. The area around the hotel is sketchy and rundown, so pretty different than what you'd assume from the pictures of the inside. However, the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Not worth the $120 I paid for the night in my opinion.
- 5/5
Only comment: breakfast left a lot to be desired. The whole thing needs to be more varied and higher quality.
- 5/5
Wonderful stay. Clean and New. Very Good Breakfast. Would do it again!
- 4/5
Clean property, nice staff. Jazmine was kind enough to bring an extra pillow to our room very soon after we asked for one. Parking is easy, several places to eat within driving or walking distance. It was pretty quiet except for a train going through the area in the early morning. Helpful to have breakfast there. Thank you!
- 2/5
Initial walkthrough of room showed food crumbs on the floor that hadn’t been vacuumed up. Coffee pot had an old dried up used coffee filter in it. Bathroom shower was clogged, so we had to unclog the nasty hair clogging the drain. The next morning at 6:50 am, dogs were barking aggressively at each other. Nice wake up call. Oh, I forgot to mention that we only had one face towel in the room, so had to ask for a second one. Breakfast area the next morning was a mess. Food all over the floor, tables had sticky stuff all over them, chairs were littered with food. All in all, I wouldn’t recommend this place.
- 4/5
Nice Hotel. Clean, great staff and a comfortable bed. The only complaint would be the pillows, small and flat.
- 5/5
Front desk staff was very helpful and personable. Top notch
- 5/5
Good location and quiet
- 3/5
For the price the property was not great
- 3/5
Not my favorite place. Wi-fi didn't work and the staff did come up to try to help, but ultimately it never worked. Seems like they know about this issue. The tv remote didn't work either other than the power/volume buttons so couldn't work or watch tv. No washcloths, just large towels and one medium towel. No outlets at the desk, so can't really plug in computer and other devices, although there were outlets by the bed.
- 5/5
Incredible hotel if you have a dog on the road trip with you and need a place to stay that’s friendly, clean, safe and awesome for dogs.
- 4/5
No one was at the desk when we showed op at 10pm. Waited ten minutes, called and I was standing by the desk and heard it ring a dozen times, no one came for another 5 minutes.
- 5/5
The hotel was comfortable. Staff friendly. Only suggestion was to have a few more healthy breakfast options.
- 5/5
Loved the customer service. They called me to make sure I was alright and still coming, which I appreciated. Polite and welcoming upon our very late arrival. The room was wonderful. Our kids loved it.
- 4/5
We got a big room at Elkotel for our family of 5, 2 full beds 1 full-size sofabed. Good size room for a short stay, it has a desk in case somebody needs to work. Only problem was the bedroom door being really difficult to close. There was breakfast in the morning which was yummy and convenient but not enough healthy/ protein options and the water for coffee/tea/oatmeal, which came from a water cooler with a hot button, was lukewarm at best.
- 2/5
Our door looked like it had been kicked in by the police. The walls were scruffy. There were chips and scuff marks on the wall. The furniture had stains and rips. The baseboards weren’t finished, and were missing in some parts of the hotel. Multiple outlets in our room did not work. There was hair from previous guests in the bathmat. In addition, the other guests were extremely loud and slamming their door multiple times (not the hotel’s fault). Overall, it was fine for one night but we will not return.
- 5/5
My stay was wonderful. The staff and the rooms were very friendly. The hotel is immaculate, and the staff is invaluable.
- 2/5
I asked for a blanket 3 times and never received it and when i called the front office the girl gave me attitude and was completely rude
- 2/5
The TV and Wifi were both not working. We asked the staff to come help us in our room 3 different times, and were told someone would be right with us, but no one ever showed up.
- 4/5
Overall it was a pleasant stay. The furniture was not confortabe for us.
- 4/5
After settling into the third room (mistakenly put me into rooms that were not supposed to be used due to maintenance issues) we found this place very nice. Sadly the included breakfast was lacking in several regards or I'd have rated it higher.
- 5/5
Stayed here on our wedding night, very nice room & staff was great!
- 5/5
There was a delay checking in due to a power outage. Overall a very nice stay. I’m so glad they take dogs with no charge. Breakfast was nice.. but the eggs must be powdered. The breakfast lady was also so nice.
- 5/5
Great stay!
- 2/5
TV had 1 channel, I was in my room when another visitor accidentally opened my door but her room was next door ( meaning the card was programmed for both doors!), no butter for the morning toast and no one around to ask.
- 3/5
Beds were hard, but the most comfortable hard bed ever. Usually I sleep medium soft, but this bed was good. I slept well. Things that weren't so good, no shampoo or body wash in the shower, but were out. The front desk did give us some more big bottles when we asked. Also when I got to breakfast almost everything was gone. I think the front desk has was also trying to do breakfast and it was hard to keep up on both. She did restock but I had to go before she got to a lot of it. It was a good breakfast though, eggs (didn't try they were out), a few cereals, some muffins/bread, sausage, waffles (I got the last of that), fruits, juices. I think there may have been yogurt because I saw someone else eating one. Anyway overall I had a good sleep and the staff were nice, but with breakfast almost gone and not restocked items. Oh also we had reserved the room for four people but we only had one washcloth, one or two hand towels, and three towels, and three pillows. So we again had to get more of those supplies
- 4/5
The front desk person was very helpful even though she was in a stressful situation with not enough rooms! I wanted to rate the stay higher until I saw the large clump of hair on the shower wall, the stained shower curtain and the penny sized spider on the floor. The property looked fairly new, but needed more attention to detail. Also, the breakfast ran out of coffee, eggs, yogurts, muffins, and bagels.
- 4/5
They didn’t have USB plug-ins even though they said they’re new not a single USB outlet anywhere
- 5/5
We had a super late check in after driving all day and the gal working the front desk was amazing! She helped get us everything we needed at nearly 2am and made the check in process as easy as possible! The property itself is beautiful and clean and appears to be newly opened or remodeled! We are traveling as a family of 5 and there was more than enough room with the two beds (which were very comfortable) and the pull out couch! The mini kitchenette was also convenient if you were planning on an extended stay at the property. Breakfast is also included in addition to being pet friendly! Excellent experience all around!
- 5/5
It’s a very clean, clean property. The rooms are immaculate. The lobby is clean. The staff is wonderful very helpful. There’s really not a negative thing to say about this hotel. I’ll definitely stay again as I’m passing through.
- 1/5
I have a lot of pictures, but I don’t want to show them online it was very dirty and in very poor conditions missing handles, grafity on the fridge ,dirty sheets ,this hotel I don’t give any star to this hotel I canceled 5 minutes after I checked in.
- 5/5
Great for an overnight stay. The room was clean and quiet and the service was good.
- 5/5
Great staff, clean room, can’t ask for more.

Furnishings give you the mystic of vegas elite rooms. Nice!
