Holiday Inn Express & Suites Elk Grove Central - Hwy 99 by IHG

Finding a hotel thats accommodating for my disabled brother is extremely difficult and frustrating. I did not experience any of that here. Thank you to the staff that made our stay relaxing, for once.

Adequate Construction, closed pool and hot tub. Bed too hard, shower tub too tall, no handicap shower wand.

As always, the check in process went well. The breakfast was amazing. The cleanliness of the room was 3 star. Our beds were comfortable, however I made sure to have flip flops on at all times because I believe it’s time to get the carpets cleaned. Otherwise, it was worth the stay.

We came in during a renovation, so my ratings reflect that. Had issues that we didn't have the last time we stayed. Breakfast was pretty bland but edible. Coffee machine was OK. Free cookies in the afternoon (or so). Our keys suddenly stopped working on five separate occasions for no reason (was told it'll probably get fixed after the renovation).

The pool is drained and not available, there is construction junk laying around, there are toxic fumes from new construction materials in the bathrooms, the construction crew triggers the fire alarm, causing false evacuations, and it takes forever to get the front desk to answer the phone. I woke up with congestion and a sore throat every morning from the off-gassing of the new shower surround, then was fine within 30 minutes of leaving the room for the day. I tried to sleep with the window open but the road was REALLY loud. Seriously, just wait till they’re done with construction. Breakfast was okay.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and comfortable, had everything we needed. Breakfast was served hot and good. Several Handicap parking spaces were available.

Water was shut off for hours without any notice prior to check in. Loud construction, even on the weekends.

Accessible room had floor tiles lifting which were a trip hazard. Duvet must have been put on the bed wet, bc the center of the mattress was wet (not stained just wet). Called down, no one answered phone, went down and was told someone would bring new bedding up. 45 minutes later I went down and the clerk handed me bedding to change it myself.

Very impressed! Great location. It’s right off the freeway, shops, restaurants and especially coffee so convenient. Staff were very accommodating. Initially they didn’t have a room available for early check-in but after an hour of waiting a room was available. Decent breakfast and my baby doggy was very comfortable. Definitely will stay here again if in the area.

Room was nice, but adjacent to the road. Okay for our one-night stay. Restaurants and stores close by, walkable distance. All you can eat breakfast was decent. Pancakes, sausage, eggs, etc.

Nice hotel with continental breakfast. The gym is small but has cardio machines and dumbbells up to 60ish lbs. The lounge area is nice and the coffee is good.

We were concerned, with our late check in, that no one would be at the counter and the lobby closed. Not at all. Two people to help us at the desk and the lobby was open and welcoming. I just wished we stayed longer.

The front desk was so helpful when we came late at night, even helped me get some female necessities and saved me a trip to the store. The room and bath was clean, breakfast was also really good and loved the pool!

The front desk staff were incredible, they worked through a 3rd party booking error with grace and positivity. Absolutely wonderful people.

The boiler was out so the water we lukewarm at best. The staff did not bother to inform us of this condition. When checking out I was informed that the boiler was out and would not be repaired for several days without offering any compensation as I used a third party to book the rooms, I stated that I would contact the corporation and was told it was privately owned. How are they cleaning the buffet serving dishes and utensils?

I liked this hotel, I wish it was a little further away from the freeway and the major street. Putting it right on the freeway exit made it noisey.

This place is really nice, goes the whole nine yards; comfortable, great staff, and nice decor. The breakfast offerings were definitely above average

House keeping can not be trusted here! I had left some items behind and they stole them! The room is doable, but no attention to cleanliness. Everything is just done fast with mold in the shower! And the breakfast here is a joke! Eggs are fake and pancakes are like plastic. They have a machine that spat out two pancakes and supposedly cooks them, but it doesn’t. We tried putting them in the toaster to cook for longer, but it didn’t matter they’re like plastic to eat. I don’t know why. And the coffee looks like it would be an espresso machine, but it’s not it spits out regular coffee. Weak. Very watery. That is my first time staying here and it will be my last.

I liked that the property was the perfect location for our event. It was easy to get to, and even though it’s close to the freeway it was quiet. For the most part, it was clean and comfortable. Even though the room seemed a little dated, it was just what we needed for a one night stay. I didn’t like that there was only one elevator (and a small one at that!). I suppose I understand because it’s not a big hotel, but there were many guests staying that weekend so it felt a bit overwhelming.

This place is great. Close to lots of stores and food. They have free coffee and tea in the lobby which is always nice. Very clean. Also lots of movie channels on the tv. Will definitely stay again.

They were cheerful, attentive, and kept everything stocked even as breakfast hours were ending. All in all, a clean, convenient, and friendly place to stay. Our first time traveling with our newborn. The room was clean and the area felt safe. We requested a crib that was brought up without an issue. Breakfast was great and the common lobby area is great if you are staying with a large party

Downstairs hall to my room smelled of mariquana so bad all the way down the to the outside.

We really liked this place more than other places we've stayed. It was quiet, the bed was comfortable, the breakfast was excellent and the staff were nice. The only complaint was that the A/C was very loud. But overall better than most.

Loved the proximity to BJ’s and Five Guys and Old Navy. Nice pool and hot tub. Felt comfortable here with my kids. Will definitely stay again

We stay at this property often, it is clean and very friendly staff. There are a few shops,and dining options within walking distance and the included breakfast always has a nice variety.

Great stay--it is quiet, clean and located conveniently next to the 99 freeway. It is close to many restaurants also. The front lobby staff are nice and helpful. I came a day early and they managed not only to let me stay in the same room both nights, but also upgraded me. I appreciated their kindness when I checked in so late at night.

Easy access to shops, restaurants, etc. It was very clean and staff was friendly. The only issue we had was around the property in the parking lot. Homeless were walking around our cars. The good thing was they had a security car driving around, trying to keep the parking lot clear.

The hot tub wasn't that hot and so when I told the worker they were very helpful to help me out about that. The workers are very friendly. The breakfast was good. I would definitely come back. The bedrooms were very nice and very well taken care of.

What isn't to love, it's a Holiday Inn Express. If at all possible Holiday Inn Express is my choice hotel. Easy, convenient, always clean, professional staffing. But this particular location had an abundance of parking and was directly off of the Hwy. Half of my day is driving, the other half work but at the end of the day I'm not trying to travel forever to get some sleep. Nice landscaping too

The room was very clean and neat. I especially enjoyed the layout as well as the nice breakfast in the AM. The walls seemed a bit him as I could hear the person upstairs and their footsteps but other than that, it was very quiet. I enjoyed the stay and definitely will stay again.

This was a very convenient choice when I needed to get to the Sacramento Airport the following day. The room was big and comfortable, the staff helpful, and check in and check out were a breeze. Highly recommended!

The hotel is pretty nice. Most staff seemed friendly. The free breakfast had really good options. Our room was great my o my complaint is there’s no black out curtains just shutters so you get all the brightness in the early morning

Stayed here for a nearby event. Check-in was quick, room clean and ready, pool clean, and breakfast started 30 mins early! Made traveling with three young kids easier!

Front desk staff was “robotic”. $70 pet fee is ridiculous. They advertise as “pet friendly”, yet have no grass for dogs. Many of the furniture pieces, walls, and carpet were stained throughout the hotel. Air conditioner in room was extremely loud when starting up. Worst Holiday Inn facility I’ve ever stayed at.

I was not aware that breakfast was not included in the price of a room. We did not see the sign.

*The cons- front desk was not welcoming when I checked in. She just handed me the key. That instant I asked"Where is my room and elevator, what time is breakfast, pool hours, and internet info" That info should have been stated to me during check in. Also, when I was in room there was no "Do not disturb sign". I called and a different rude receptionist said come get it, when I did, she handed me the sign without saying a word. Con #2-Roll in shower was dirty. Sink is outside of bathroom(gross) . Every time you use toilet you touch the door handle to go outside to wash your hands. Breakfast was not good and if you ask the lady with blonde hair for anything she gives attitude. That's why her tip bucket is empty.

Home AC broke down so an emergency hotel stay to keep cool and sleep comfortably seemed like a necessary move. Checking in was super easy and fast, staff were very friendly and helpful. They had cold water and cookies in the lobby when we checked in, and that was a very welcoming gesture. The room was huge honestly, amazing AC, decent bathroom, comfortable beds, and everything was super clean! Great free breakfast before checking out and the free coffee was hands down better than what I make at home haha and all of the eco friend touches (reminder signs about opting out of housekeeping to be green if you don’t need it and they offer water in reusable aluminum bottles for purchase) made for a great stay. Will definitely recommend to anyone staying in Elk Grove for a trip or maybe even another staycation!

We arrived after check-in….5:15ish. Went straight to our room to drop off our luggage. Used the bathroom but it didn’t flush properly-flushed halfway. Called down to guest services and let them know the toilet wasn’t flushing properly but we were leaving for the night and they could come up to fix it while we were out. Came back around 1am. Toilet not fixed. Too tired to deal with it so went to bed. Walked down around 6:30-7am to guest services. Let reception know about the toilet. Receptionist never got notice. She was the only one there- no maintenance and no housekeeping on site until 930am. She gave me a plunger to fix the toilet problem myself. I fixed it and gave reception the toilet plunger. The room was nice but really? No maintenance people or housekeeping during the weekend? I like to use a working toilet especially when it’s in a hotel. Let’s do better hotel management.

I would like to suggest that lower bed heights be available for the very senior travelers. The beds are very comfortable but my 96 year old mother had a bit of an issue getting onto the bed. It would be nice to have that other option description in the "accessible rooms", as I'm sure I'm not alone with this issue. Thanks, Liz

This place was great overall. It was clean and looked nice. The only downside is the key cards don’t work very well. The front desk kept saying they get deactivated if near a phone but the cards were no where near a phone. Every time I tried to open the room, it took me a great while. It got to the point where we always had to leave someone in the room to get back in. It was very annoying. Other than that, it was great!

Stayed here for a few nights. It was very comfortable, staff was friendly and efficient. I would definitely stay here again.

I did not have warm water to shower.

Safe, great area and easy to find

There were 2 couples waiting at the front desk for a while to check in until we finally called the phone number for that location and the staff member came out. The hotel is one exit past the dining options so we had to get back on the freeway to get dinner. The place was just ok. Don’t think I would choose it again.

We had an over-all great experience and learned that it was newly-renovated! it was near the Sky River Casino plus near to many dining options and beside Old Navy, wow! We'll definitely come back :)

The area was nice but the tub always got plugged up and the water was up above my childrens ankles when it came time to bathe them. I wasn't sure if it was hair from a previous stay but at the time my children had just been bathed and they are 5 year old twins. The water rose quickly. I didn't want to remove any hair considering it may have not been hair. But this was from the first shower. Area and stay was nice overall but still didn't feel clean after a shower

The level of service provided by staff, especially during the night shift, was notably subpar. There were instances where staff members appeared disengaged and preoccupied with personal devices, leading to a perception of reluctance to attend to guest needs in a timely and efficient manner. This negatively impacted the overall guest experience.

The transfer window was set to open in March but was delayed because it would not allow for the takeoff to fly, had a soft take off and soft landing.

I sent an e mail at the time Sunday March 30th but no response.

We reserved online and thought that there would be a dog fee--but there was no notice that the fee would be $70!!! Usual fee at hotels is $25-30. This is so excessive!

Great hotel and very clean room. Sheets and towels were all extreme clean and organized. Room feel and ambiance were perfect. I had the suite so there was a bit more room and probably space enough for two additional people comfortably.
