When we arrived the lobby smelled of BO. The carpeting in the hallways was disgusting. The second floor smelled like weed. The room was disgusting, I didn’t even take my socks and shoes off. The linens looked clean but the bed was so hard and uncomfortable! I almost just slept in my car.

The room,Bed shower all terrible. Was not clean and smelled horrible, we cleaned the room after we bought items to take care of it as well as scented plug ins. The room and the entire hotel smelled like marijuana.. If we could have gotten our money back as soon as we arrived we would have and found somewhere else to stay. We will not ever stay there again.

The room was clean except the bathroom toilet. The bathroom smelled liked pee. No ice bucket for ice. The refrigerator doesn't get really cold. Has a hard time opening the door because it was fresh painted a couple of days ago which made the door hard to open. Needed a bigger trash can in the room. If they upgrade the things they needs to be done, this hotel would be a place to stay. Very convenient to places to shop and eat.

The property needed a lot of work. Plaster on ceiling was different colors; plaster in bathroom also. Rust around the window and not what I thought I was getting. The ice maker did not work on the first floor so I had to go to the second floor when I needed ice. I misread the first question. I liked the location.

The room was absolutely disgusting. The couch had blood stains and white stains on it, the dresser was missing knobs, and there was black mold around the toilet and bathtub. Both air-conditioning units were cracked, and although it looked like they attempted some cosmetic repairs, everything was done very poorly. The carpet was also dirty and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. To be completely honest, the condition of the property made it feel more like emergency housing than a hotel. I would strongly recommend staying somewhere else if you’re visiting Elizabeth City,N.C.

Water from the faucet in the tub was yellow. And floors had not been vacuumed. The AC worked very hard to keep the room cool and the staff was very inattentive and did not seem to care about guests checking in as they were either watching TV or on the phone with friends and or family while I was checking in. Lobby did not smell the cleanest and the breakfast was poorly displayed.

The hotel is a bit worn out (4 starts), but it is very well maintained and the staff is supportive and helpful. A regular continental breakfast is included, which makes it convenient to start the day. The location is also a big plus, with a shopping plaza nearby and plenty of restaurants in the area. Overall, it was a comfortable and convenient stay.

Remodel ASAP. The bathrooms are terrible, if I could, I would have left. The bathroom door had a whole in the door and just spacul over and painted. The smell entering the hotel wasn't pleasant. The hotel was tidy but not well maintained. The elevator got stuck with us inside it. It wouldn’t let us push any of the buttons including the call button. I had to use my cell phone to call the front desk. They knew exactly what was wrong (the up button gets stuck) and fixed it quickly, which seems to indicate that it has happened before. The room was ok but shabby. The bathroom door had a huge dent in it and wouldn’t shut all the way. The staff was friendly and kind.

There was nothing to like. The room was filthy. The chair was covered in massive stains and even blood. Set it outside of room and no one addressed it or took it. Front desk didn’t speak other than asking for name… no greeting. No information on where to find the room or what amenities there were. Just a large, rude black woman who clearly hates her job. Or maybe she’s racist. Either way, very unprofessional, rude, and a horrible example of your company sat right in the front. Checking out was just the same. She was on a personal call on her cell phone and didn’t even look up or acknowledge that I was returning room keys. I’m going with racist and lazy. Breakfast bar was atrocious. Very sticky and lacking. The waffle area had a lingering, pungent smell. The milk for the cereal was warm. Safe to say, the food was not eaten. There were boxes and large pieces of equipment EVERYWHERE. Maybe they were remodeling an area, but there were no safety measures put in place to avoid the hazards. There was no information in the elevator on whether it had ever been serviced and no information inside to contact if it got stuck. Horrible.

Very weak. very little to chose from. Milk was souring a couple days. That being said, not that many people were staying there so a lot of breakfast may have gone to waste if preped. Basicly there was cereal, bread, yogurt, some P B and apples. also had a waffle machine. For the price, I would not call this a complaint. More of an observation. Lobby and halls had a slight unpleasant smell. Room was find. Day desk person needs to stay off of his phone. and when he is on it, needs air buds. No one wants to hear that shit.

Didn’t eat there. The upkeep is not good: fire alarm was beeping, phone cord broken, radio not working, drawer to night stand nasty, ice bucket had dirty water in it and no liner, one airy conditioner was blowing warm air, the other one quit working and was reported, bikini underwear in one of the chest of drawers, table was almost falling down, carpet on wall was falling down, soap plate was dirty, one chest of drawers had sticky substance on it, shower curtain looked like it had been used as a drop cloth and was complete with paint on it and a food stain on the inside of the curtain, the loveseat’s seat covers were not on properly and were not zipped up, window open, no cups in the room. Need I say more? On the other hand, the beds and towels were nice.

Upon arrival, I was greeted by the receptionist who was preoccupied with his phone, taking approximately five minutes to acknowledge me. When I posed a question, he reacted with noticeable irritation. The room's lighting was excessively dim, necessitating the door to be left open to locate a well-lit area. The room was remarkably dark. The ceiling appeared to have mold that had been painted over, or possibly it was a former smoking room. The air conditioning was not functioning, resulting in an uncomfortably hot room. The door did not seal properly, allowing hallway light to seep through the crack. I felt a sense of unease. The breakfast offerings were subpar, consisting of waffles without accompanying meat, juice, or other desirable options. The lighting flickered on and off, and the electrical outlets were non-functional, requiring me to search the room for a suitable plug for my phone. The room was small, and the bathroom was in dire need of replacement. I awarded the establishment a single star solely for the purpose of completing this review. I would not recommend this establishment.

The room had a musty smell to it, which at first I chalked up to maybe not being used in a while , and the a/c not running. However, when I woke up in the morning I stepped out on the side where the a/c was and the floor was soaked around the a/c. So, now thinking there may be mold under the carpet due to water from the a/c. Additionally, the tub is in slight disrepair. Furthermore, we have never had a hotel try and charge us before we got to the hotel. Normally, they do not charge us until we get there. The hotel tried to charge us three times before our arrival. Lastly, the next morning when we spoke to the front desk agent about the a/c and that we were going to check out early, he was playing a game on his phone as my husband was trying to speak with him.

This was by far the worst hotel stay I’ve ever had. The room we were staying in was supposed to be one of the renovated rooms, but it was done poorly. They just painted over dirty and damaged walls. Didn’t even bother to patch the hole in the bathroom door. The bedding was old and dingy. The room and the hotel has a smell and there were bugs in the hallway area. This is more of a motel than a hotel. Would not recommend.

The heavier set lady at the desk made a racist comment when she was on the phone with someone on her personal phone. She did it right in from of me while checking in. The room are old and has a smokey smell to me. The towels and wash rags are dingy and old. Some of them are ripped. Our stay was not pleasant. The shower head was dirty along with ripped carpet in out room.

Desk staff very friendly and provided us with good recommendations for restaurants in Elizabeth City. Hotel was in process of some renovations but no direct impact on our room or stay. Room fridge a bit noisy but we got it to quiet down. Coffee in lobby not very tasty. We did not get breakfast. Location great and would stay again if back to the area.

Staff was friendly! Phace itself was falling apart though. Massive hole in the blackout curtain making it useless. Bathroom fan was so loud it woke up the other person in the room. You can't turn on the light in the bathroom without the fan. The freezer was frozen open in the mini fridge and couldn't be closed as well.

This entire hotel reeks of pot smoke. We noticed immediately in the parking lot just outside the reception area. Though it is supposedly a no smoking hotel, the hallways smelled, and even our room had a faint smell of marijuana. Beyond that, the beds were uncomfortable, the linens were of poor quality, the bathroom had a light with a ridiculously loud exhaust fan, and the tub had the stopper removed and just laying in the tub. Popcorn ceilings, textured walls with dark glossy paint…. Everything was so outdated. Oh, I almost forgot that the tap water was tinted brown - I didn’t dare taste it. I didn’t even shower. We stayed here one night on our way to OBX, and although we rent a beach house each year, we’ll never be back to the Baymont in Elizabeth City. Yuk!

Hotel is dirty, carpets had a peculiar odor, and the non-smoking room definitely had previous smokers in the room. Unable to get a receipt at check out -since we booked and paid online. Breakfast is a parred down continental breakfast; yogurt, cold cereal, waffles, small apples, slices of bread, tiny blue berry muffins, coffee, and juice. There was a minimal quantity placed out for guests.

This hotel was one of the few available options for my recent stay in Elizabeth City. It is approximately 10 minutes from the venue. Upon check-in, the hotel appeared somewhat aged and could benefit from better cleanliness. Another guest mentioned there was no hot water in their room. The lighting in the room was very bad & the front desk daytime staff was absent or visiting with friends in the lobby, creating a feel of “we’ll get to it when we get to it.” The workout room was locked & & guest key cards didn’t open it, so you have to wait for the front desk person to get the key & open the door, every time. There was no breakfast when there was supposed to be. Only 3 yogurts in the refrigerator; there was no fruit of any kind or even cereal or oatmeal & I went within the 1st hour that it supposedly opened.
