Econo Lodge El Paso, IL

The Hotel Owner, knew the rooms are "BOOKED", Why don't they have the room A/C, on it took all night for the room to cool down enough to lay down. The A/C, would not run on HIGH speed. We asked for (Low room), we got "2nd" floor. No microwave in room. If you didn't get up early you would not have breakfast. There is "NO" exhaust in the Bathroom. Who wants to smell other peoples waste or heat from their shower.

The staff were very friendly. I think that is the only positive thing about my stay. I booked this hotel for the pool. But when I got there it was down for manitnce. Looks like they were using it for storage. The hallway carpet wasn't very clean. My room had an ant problem. I will never stay there again!!!!!

internet was fast, I didn't use the pool, but check your alarm clocks in the room, because mine went off at midnight and woke me up out of a dead sleep. The hotel itself was quiet all night

The property was okay for the price and had extensive pool maintenance taking place. I stayed for 3 nights and each night around midnight there were people slamming doors and making excessive noise in the hall (spring break was just starting so I assume that’s the reason). I will be returning to the area soon and will be looking for other properties but wouldn’t have problem staying at this hotel again.

The person checking us in was helpful. The pool was not available. Looked like a storage facility. The vending machines were empty. The breakfast was questionable. How fresh things were. Old milk, cereal ect. Powdered creamer for coffee was old. Beds were very hard. I know it was inexpensive. However the pictures on website were not accurate at all.

Friendly Staff.

Easy check-in, booked a king size non smoking room. Very kind and courteous staff, room was very clean, towels, soap, tv, microwave, fridge, free WiFi, clean pool. Breakfast consisted only of cereal, milk, cinnamon rolls, and coffee at breakfast at the time of stay. Pillows were small for my taste, but overall, would book again. Would love to see more breakfast options :) thanks again!

The common areas are dirty. They had a breakfast that didn’t have coffee.

Continental breakfast was not appealing

They wanted to charge to plug in your boat battery $20. I stay all over Illinois at similar hotels and they don't charge you.

The price was right. We were thankful to have a place to stay in a small town like El Paso.

A quiet place to stop when traveling through this area. Friendly owners. Well kept.

The room was noce the beds were comfortable. It was pretty clean if you didnt mind old tattered chair...

Check in easy. Friendly staff. No table in room. But played cards in breakfast room so we were satisfied.

Needless to say we did not stay another night. We did NOT get a refund or a part of the bill refunded. They offered another room, not when I asked for it that night it but the next morning. We looked at the room but… again the inside and outside of the toilet was filthy I did not trust the bedding The absolute worst. Where is Econolodge inspection of property.

Very low end experience. The staff did open pool early for us at 8:00am instead of 10am. 10:00am seemed a little late since checkout is 11:00am.

The place was terrible bug on the floor . Hair all over. Bodily functions.

Stay was fine. Breakfast was basically non existent so don’t plan on eating here, and the staff was odd at times. There is a McDonald and a restaurant within walking distance and a DG market!

Pros: -Staff was friendly. Cons: -Owner was sitting in the lobby with his shoes off like he was in his personal living room...gross. -Carpet in the hallway was filled with stains. -When I got to the room the door was already open. The lock to the room didn't work. After the owner looked at it, I was told to lift the door up to close and lock it. -Room smelled clean but actually wasn't. (See pics below) -Requested another room but was denied. -TV malfunctioned. Upon investigating, the guests from the room next door, their remote controlled their TV and my TV. -After checking out early, was told that my money for the rest of the stay could not be refunded.

Pros: Room, lobby and breakfast area were clean. Bed was comfortable. Cons: carpet in the hallways was disgusting. breakfast was toast, cereal and a waffle maker. Pool was empty. Stayed in El Paso because it was closest to the event we were there to attend. In the future we will drive the extra few miles to stay in a nicer hotel in Bloomington-Normal.

We’ve eliminated this city as a stay for travel. Been at 2 hotels both were less than appealing.

The pool is under maintenance, which was unfortunate. Beds were super comfortable and water was always hot, even after 3 showers

Our room was full of the little black ants this was the morning we were leaving and they said oh yes we know about the ants

Friendly staff, no nonsense check in. Clean rooms, easy access from highway. Limited breakfast options. Not a deal breaker, really good mom and pop restaurant directly across the street.

It was a decent place to stay for what we needed. Wish the listing would have said pool was closed for winter as that’s why we mainly picked this location for our travels.

The place is under new ownership and the remodel was very poorly done. Towel racks are coming out of the wall because they were not installed properly. Shower curtain rod is coming out of the wall because it was not installed properly. Toilet is not installed properly and has pieces of cardboard shoved in different places to attempt to level it. It still rocks. The faucet leaks. The shower spigot leaks. The shower doesn't drain properly. This place has potential. You can tell the new owner without proper skills attempted to DIY the repairs to attempt to save money. Sad!

Room was ok, bed was fine. Hallway had an odd odor, older hotel. For a one night stay, is fine. Would not stay if longer.

Staff was nice and provided everything we needed. Bed was comfortable.

Said it was for Bloomington Illinois pay and it then says el paso and refusing to refund my money

The check-in and out process was simple and efficient. The carpet in the hallway was filthy. One of the lights on the bedside table flickered when I tried to turn it on. There were pieces of folded cardboard supporting the toilet. The shower/tub creaked as I stood in it. The bedspread and sheets were stained and did not smell fresh. People in the hallway slamming doors at 2:30 and 3:30 a.m. and talking. Breakfast appeared to be good, but I had planned to eat elsewhere with friends. Did not use coffee maker. TV worked fine. AC worked fine. I used iron and hair dryer, both fine. Fridge worked fine. Newer chair and ottoman. I'm so sorry to be critical, but I don't know how else to alert the company to needed improvements.

One light did not work looked like a short. Reported it to the front desk. They stated they would look in to it, but did not while we were there. The room could have been cleaner.

It is what it is, an older budget property. it wasn't the cleanest, the vending was broken down, the breakfast was pathetic. room had a small tv and needed maintenance. Bed was uncomfortable.

The owners were nice and friendly.

Dirty not safe

Breakfast was only waffle and cereal. There is not much around to do Floor in bathroom was sticky

The outside of the property does not look inviting. The rooms smell awful. They did let us check in a little early so that was a plus.

What a dump! Dirty carpets & furniture! Smells like smoke! The pool was being resurfaced & out of service. In the back entrance were chairs & mattresses all pilled up presumably to be taken to the dump! Mattress pads were dirty & pillow smelled!

Need to take out the trash more in the rooms and clean more often

You advertised a pool so i booked 2 nights with 3 little girls who wanted to swim. We got all dressed in swimsuits and got to pool to find it empty and with boxes in it. No signs anywhere and was never told. I WOULD NOT OF STAYED IF I WAS TOLD THIS.

Water pressure in shower wasn't good, but overall the property was good. My room was clean and the bedding looked new. Carpet in hall was pretty worn and dirty looking but the room made up for that.

It was ok. I booked became it had an indoor pool, buf the pool was not filled. I was upset. I had 2 little kid's, that were expecting to swim. Highly upsetting.

I was supposed to receive a refund for days in stayed and never received it they also acting like they could not hear me when I called multiple times

Bed bugs, locks on the doors don't work and locks on the windows were broke unsafe. Left after first night but didn't get refunded for the second night.

Found bugs that looked like bedbugs. Could not get refund.

Advertised as having a pool (with photos) when in fact pool is permanently closed. Small cramped rooms, tiny bathroom. Very disappointing.

Reeked of marijuana - no smoking property. One shampoo and soap, that's it. Breakfast was two choices of cereal and tiny cinnamon rolls, coffee, OJ, bread.

It was very unclean, we didn't stay. We went to different hotel. We were shown 3 different rooms all very dirty the bedding wasn't even changed, hair and soiled sheets. The frig was full of black mold in two rooms one didn't have one. Also someone had been sick it was never cleaned up still on bed skirt and floor.I have Never been in a hotel with such horrible conditions!

Room was clean. Bed was uncomfortable with a deep groove running down the middle. Shower was luke warm.

Rooms were clean. Staff was friendly. They offered my husband their own Coke, when he found out there was no vending machine. Breakfast was minimal. There was no tea or hot water to make tea, if I had my own teabag.

The bed was very comfortable The breakfast was abysmal, no juice, no toast, only coffee no tea.

Desk clerk at check in was very helpful. New floors in rooms look nice Coffee in the room was stale, water was yellow, room needed a good cleaning, shower head coated in lime scale buildup, windows and mirrors were filthy, lights next to bed did not work. Issue with door lock. Would only lock when you manually locked it from the inside.
