Good value and proximity to Syracuse University! The site says the beds are queen size, they’re actually full size.
- 5/5
Convenient place to stay.
- 4/5
the room was large and spacious. check in was fast and easy, with approachable and friendly staff. i enjoyed having an ice maker in the room. the bed was comfortable. my only negative was that the shower curtain didn't reach the bottom of the shower, and water continually got on the floor when i took a shower.
- 5/5
Very nice room! Comfy bed. Fully equipped kitchen. Staff was kind.

- 5/5
The staff were friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with anything needed. I especially appreciated the quiet atmosphere, which made it easy to relax after a long day. The location is convenient, with easy access to nearby highways, shopping, and dining options.
- 5/5
Everything in the room worked perfectly. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean.
- 2/5
The room reeked of smoke and there weren’t any available rooms to move to. Tv didn’t work and front desk had to come to the room to fix it.
- 1/5
No absolutely not they had people watching building checling cars
- 4/5
One thing missing is a breakfast buffet. We stay over night once a month and changed recently from the Cresthill Suites because they seem to be letting their care of the place falter. I miss their breakfast service.

The front desk Manager Rasheka Dennis was a super B****!!! Very Unprofessional. I came in and asked for tissue and she gave me a whole attitude about it. Mind you the hotel has been known not to have tissue at this establishment. (Another story) None the less I made a comment on a friend's facebook post in reference to the hotel not having toilet tissue and her attitude. What did she do with her unprofessional self, gets on the facebook post to address me. Mind you the hotel was never mentioned in the post. She is very much unprofessional and ignorant along with the General Manager who stood there and watched her argue with me!!! If you want good services dont spend your money there!!

Registration Manager Rasheka Dennis, was the most horrible person I ever had to deal with at a hotel registration desk ever. Very, Very rude, unrespectful and not professional at all. Unfortunately, couldn’t walked out of the place because all hotels in the area were booked due to back to school weekend and county fair. I will never ever again will stay at that place. My bad review will go to any media available. She made me have nightmares all weekend.

I was a little put off by the lobby, it wasnt very attractive, seemed cluttered behind the desk. Room was excellent!
- 5/5
Rashika checked me in, she was absolutely outstanding! The bed was insanely comfortable. It was super quiet. The young man who did my check out was so personable and warm. My Beagle Miss Rita and I really enjoyed our stay. Highly recommend this hotel!
- 4/5
The rooms are in no way fancy but they are convenient and supply you with everything you need for a short trip. Staff was the best part of the stay from check in to check out! Very friendly, personable, and committed to what they do. Overall no complaints.
- 5/5
The front desk lady was so sweet, the room was spotless, and the self service snack station was awesome!
- 5/5
Just awesome.
- 2/5
Room was not the greatest, cabinets were hanging , shower water was flooding the bathroom because the water kept going straight outside, we had to keep holding the head to stop it from moving and even then it flood the floor. Starting to get run down, looks like there is people living in there for extended periods. If last resort I would only use to sleep. Wife was definitely not happy.
- 2.5/5
The staff I encountered was pleasant. The property was extremely noisy. I couldn't sleep because I could hear people talking down the hall the entire night. My curtains did not close, so my window was open to the parking lot, which made me uncomfortable. There were guests smoking marijuana nearby, which smelled up the vicinity. The room I reserved did not match what I got upon check-in, and some of the furniture inside the room was very stained.

First of all, I read all the previous reviews and comments stating that the reception staff was horrible, the hotel was filthy, the rooms were shabby, yadda yadda I did not find this at all. I was a little scared to make the reservation, but I wanted something more affordable for this stay in Syracuse and decided to risk it. I'm so happy I did. The receptionist, Ms. Dennis ( I can't remember her first name) was phenomenal. So personable, happy, and accommodating. She was wonderful. I entered my room and was pleasantly surprised at the size. It had a more than adequate table space for my family to have breakfast and dinners. The bed was extremely comfortable, and my son, who slept on the sofa bed, said that it was comfortable too. In fact, I slept better in the hotel bed than in my own at home. I used the fitness center. It was small but they made the most out of the space. Two work out benches, weights, and cardio equipment. I was happy to see a Bosu ball which I have been using in my preseason ski workouts, so this was an awesome find. All in all, we really liked this hotel, the location was great, 15 minutes to everything we wanted to see, OnCenter, Destiny Mall and the Rosamond Gifford Zoo. The hotel greatly needs updating. It was clean but due to the sort of outdated furniture and furnishings, it gave the look of being dirty (it wasn't). The curtains got stuck after we closed them so we never could open them again, lol. We didn't call the desk about that. Also, I used the coffee maker but the carafe was actually too small to make contact with the trigger that lets the coffee drip down so I had to hold the carafe up to the trigger the whole time it was brewing. I also did not mention that to the front desk, why bother. The coffee came out great anyway---plus if it didn't, they serve free coffee and tea all day. I can't think of anything else I didn't like and neither can my kids---my son and his girlfriend had their own room under their own reservation, and they had nothing but the same comments as me.

While the rooms and equipment could definitely benefit from a refresh and update, the clear advantage of this property was the customer service by both the staff at the front desk and the housekeeping staff. Prompt, courteous, capable, and available. Great! But the room assigned to me needed a redress and was missing a few relatively small but important items for me. There was no hair/blow dryer in the bathroom so I had to get one brought to my room by Housekeeping. There was no stopper for the bathtub so only a shower is possible, not a bath. The Air Conditioner was on in the room when I arrived at a very cold temperature. So low that frost had built up inside the readiator unit by the window almost an inch or more in thickness across the entire unit. When I turned the temperature up to warm the room, all the ice melted out onto the floor. I laid down a towel to catch the water, and the yellowish brown dirt and grime of the carpet stained the towel. ☹️ Overall, the room needs a good refresh, but my "good" rating is for the staff. 😉

Our handicap shower had great pressure, but the water sprayed on the wall which created mold. The lobby/entry floor had a perfume scent that was intentional, but much too strong.

Was a pleasant stay, room was clean and was comfortable. Some basic updates and paint would help in the presentation.
- 5/5
Albert, he was so pleasant, willing to help. Just awesome!
- 5/5
We were pleasantly surprised that it had a kitchenette. It was very conveniently located. Check in was quick, the person welcoming and knowledgeable. It was very quiet too. We will definitely stay here again!
- 5/5
The staff was amazing. I had a quick check in and out. I liked the fact it was safe since I was traveling alone. I also liked the kitchenette with clean dishes and silverware. I have stayed in other extended stays before and this one is hands down (to me) better than the other ones. Walmart and BJs Warehouse was 12 minutes away, with Wegman's 7 minutes away so food was easily found. The only thing I didn't like was Carrier Circle. It's a little confusing if you don't live in East Syracuse. Thank goodness for GPS.
- 1/5
Hotel was not clean … crumbs on the floor, hairs on the bed, blood stains on the walls and sheets! I didn’t expect any amenities, but I did expect a clean room!
- 5/5
Rooms were clean. Check in as fast
- 3/5
This is a basic, bare bones place to stay. It is friendly and quiet. You have to go out for all meals. It reminded me of a dormitory.
- 5/5
Great value.... Nice, good size room with kitchenette, Helpful , good access to major roads and thruway.
- 5/5
The lady at check-in was absolutely delightful. Very friendly and welcoming, quick and efficient. Best customer service I’ve experienced in a while. Room was comfortable and great for a stay with a teen that likes their own space.
- 4/5
Great staff, we got to get into the room a little early, but everything in the room was in rough shape. Looked ok but barely functional. Paid for a king sized bed that was barely a queen!
- 3/5
I had a problem with the toilet to where it needed to be plunged i thought that they would have someone come and plunge it they didn't they just left the plunger by the door and i had to do it myself i strongly feel that it should not have been for me to do when i am a guest of your hotel
- 2/5
I reserved a King bedrooms suite and the room we were in was a queen size bedroom suite. No contental breakfast and the room was $250/night and we didn't get a king bed when we already paid before we got there for a King.

When we arrived at 4 pm the rooms were being cleaned, with dirty linens being placed in the hallway. The piles of dirty linens remained there throughout the night and were still there at noon the next day. When we said something to the front desk clerk he was just as uninterested in what was being said as he was when we checked in.
- 5/5
Nice to be able to prepare meals in the room - and there is a Trader Joe's not too far away!
- 3/5
Check in is at 4pm. We showed up at 6:30pm and we had to wait for our room to be cleaned. After a long day of driving this was not what we expected.
- 3/5
It was a calm stay just needed a piece of mind
- 4/5
The hotel itself was just fine for the price, but both people working at the front desk were excellent. Had the pleasure of meeting the manager and she gave exceptional customer service. She was very pleasant, professional and welcoming.
- 4/5
Just need the room for 1 and it did the job. Front desk representative was friendly and helpful. Room had a kitchenette that was a nice addition to our stay. The parking lot had some broken glass and litter here and there. Not the hotels fault people are disrespectful
- 4/5
Respect people
- 5/5
nice, spacious and clean!
- 2/5
Based upon the actions of another party from a previous stay, although associated with one another, having separate rooms, created an unfair judgment of every individual resulting in the denial of extending a current reservation and the inability to return to the property in the future.
- 5/5
The front end manager was really friendly
- 1/5
Room was filthy and kitchen wares not stocked and dirty.
- 5/5
Very nice staff rooms are clean and pretty
- 3/5
Our temp was 81 degrees when we walked in it was 50 outside. It took all night to cool the room down to at least 70 degrees
- 5/5
Nice stay. Quiet
- 5/5
It was amazing
- 5/5
Very good overall
- 5/5
The front of the house staff were so friendly and welcoming.
- 4/5
It was very close to the hwy. The signage should be a bit larger but overall good stay. Room was clean no problems to report.
- 4/5
More importantly he parked the hotel vehicle in one of only two handicapped spots. He yelled at me "Why you looking at me" and I replied your parked in a handicapped spot and I'm handicapped. He muttered something and just disappeared, leaving hotel vehicle in the handicapped spot closest to the door. He didn't move his vehicle and I had to park in the furthest available parking space from the door (about 200 ft.) then struggle with my cane and luggage to get to the front door. I will not return because 1) their driver was extremely rude, management did say anything to him and 2)they have only two handicapped spots for the whole hotel but 3)have10 charging stations for electric vehicles right by the front door. The charging spots say you will be towed if you don't have an electric car.
- 5/5
The staff were very friendly and welcoming.
- 5/5
Staff were excellent and super friendly. Limited area to lounge, small lobby. Room needed fresh air or room freshener.
- 4/5
Rooms are well equipped with kitchenettes, bright and cheerful. Electric vehicle chargers are available, which is why I stayed here. Some chargers were blocked by ICE vehicles, but one was always available. Front desk manager said that if necessary, he would ask people to move their ICE cars. Rooms were clean, though one trash can was not emptied before my arrival. Tub drainage could be improved; did a bit of sloshing around in the tub while taking a shower. The bottom line, though, is that I slept well and could charge my car.
- 2/5
Well, I paid for a king bed and got a queen bed so not happy about that. The area is not the greatest, definitely a sus place to be. They try to do well which I appreciate but you can just tell that this is not a good option.
- 5/5
The front desk lady was the sweetest and very helpful. It was quiet. The workout equipment was up to date and working well. Nice size room but floors could have been cleaner. There were crumbs in the grooves of the tile in the kitchen. Bathrooms were clean. Overall recommend though
- 4/5
Room was clean and comfortable. Front desk staff super friendly and pleasant. Lobby is shabby and needs work!
- 3/5
The building is old and worn down compared to other hotels in the area. Seems like a lot of workers or construction business. No signage to tell you where the front door is. Very confusing.
- 5/5
The staff was great. Our room was very nice
- 5/5
Great
- 1/5
Not worth for a day.. very dirty, smelly and shady
- 5/5
I was impressed. The hotels around here looked sketchy but this place was very nice, clean, safe and friendly staff. I would definitely stay here again!

Surprisingly treed and quiet
- 5/5
Front desk young man was very efficient while being very friendly. He right away offered me a "Happy Mother's Day" upon our arrival.
- 5/5
This is my 3rd time staying at this property and everytime the staff is very friendly and professional. They make sure that you have everything that you need. The rooms are clean and spacious.
- 5/5
The room is clean everything is good .
- 5/5
The suite was wonderful!! 2 bedrooms and 2 showers plus a couch and table and full kitchen. I will definitely return to this place.
- 1/5
Room had no phone, remote control, iron board, night stand or hair dryer. Smoking is allowed directly outside the entrance to hotel which was right below our room and we had to smell it. Horrible is an understatement!!!
- 5/5
Place is cozy and clean, checking in was smooth and the person was very polite, i definitely recommend and if I'm in the area will use the same place.
- 5/5
Thank you 😊
- 3/5
Inside the hotel was not as beautiful as it's in the picture. The entrance was not appealing. but workable. No breakfast or any facility to eat. Positive side: Staff was friendly, greeted with a smile and they could provide room freshener, etc quickly.
- 4/5
Easy
- 2/5
Hotel is in major need of renovations. At first glance I didn’t even know where the entrance was. Took 3 attempts to get into my room, and the door would still stick and practically need to be kicked down to open. Many others were like that. Grounds outside were very dirty with lots of litter
- 5/5
Room was very clean and front desk was very nice and accommodating will be staying again especially for the affordable price.
- 5/5

Great staff . Room quiet enough. Clean room. Awful 24 hour coffee.
- 5/5
Everything was excellent
- 1/5
I don’t think anyone who has rated this hotel a 10/10 has actually stayed there. It was disgusting. So dirty and run down. Our bed sagged in the middle and there was a gross plunger in the middle of the bathroom. I contemplated sleeping in my car over having to be in this room. My eleven year old slept with his socks on because he didn’t want his feet to touch anything. Even a child could see how filthy this place is.
- 5/5
Had a great stay staff are very professional and kind will definitely consider coming back
- 3/5
Ok overall
- 2/5
Stayed here in a pinch as everyone else in the area was either booked or had an increased price due to events going on in the area. Was not worth saving the $40. The girl at the front desk was great. The condition of the building and rooms not so much. Rooms are extremely out dated and worn down. I can’t complain too much about the cleanliness as I know the room had just been cleaned because the floor was still wet in the bathroom. Unfortunately, there’s only so much cleaning that can be done at this place.
- 1/5
This was the worst experience
- 3/5
There was a strong moldy smell to the room. The bathroom had several drain flies hanging out in the shower. There was a full can of garbage under the sink from the previous guest. And more garbage underneath the bed. Other than that the people that work there are friendly and helpful. But among the cheaper/affordable hotels I’ve stayed at this time it wasn’t worth it.
- 5/5
Being an electric car driver I was rather annoyed when we got to the hotel that advertised as having 8 electric chargers that all but two spots were being taken up but NONE ELECTRIC vehicles and someone was storing a trailer in one spot. We are lucky we were the only electric car that needed a charge as if you had of had another guest using it. You really should enforce those are electricnonoy spots. Other then that we had a lovely time and enjoyed the facility and staff were very kind.
- 2/5
not impressed and surprised at condition
- 5/5
It was nice, quiet and clean. Close to some restaurants and coffee stores
- 4/5
Interesting location behind another hotel that is either shut down or under renovation. No complaints. As expected for the price range.
- 2/5
Property was dirty and the room was not clean. The floor did not appear to be swept and the toilet seat was broken.
- 2/5
Our room wasn’t ready when we checked in, at 5:30pm. Once in the room, our tv wasn’t working. We went to the front desk (the phone didn’t work either), where we told someone would be up shortly…they never came. In the shower, I discovered there was no soap or body wash. The only positive was that the staff was all very friendly, just very short-staffed. We won’t be staying again.
- 4/5
It was good quiet and clean.
- 2/5
The entire floor we stayed on had a horrible odor that did not go away over night. Not sure if it was from the trash they ask you to leave out or something else. Room was fine from a comfort level, but it was not clean. Dirt on the floor as you walk in. The wall had something on it that could have been cleaned off. Remote batteries were taped in rather than having a cover. The outside of the refrigerator and drawers in the kitchen were dirty and dusty. The inside of the refrigerator was not clean. The bottom shelf needed to be removed to clean the mess that was left. There were hairs in the tub and on the floor outside the tub and the bathroom ceiling was patched from previous water damage but not completely repaired.
- 5/5
Pleasant staff
- 4/5
The doors in the room were a little hard to open because of expansion of the doors, but overall the room was layed out well and the grounds were nice.
- 5/5
The staff was top notch! So friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed my stay.
- 4/5
Facility was clean and staff was extremely friendly and tried to accommodate any requests or issues. The beds were very comfortable and the suite had plenty of space. I wish the washers and dryers had a code for each guest that could lock it Bec someone took my clothes out the dryer and put theirs in! Also, my coffee pot did not work well- it had a different brand carafe that didn’t reach the dripper so I had to push paper towels under for it to work. They do offer complimentary coffee at front, which is nice in general but since I am particular about my coffee it would have been nice to have a properly working machine. My Furbo camera did not work with the wifi there - so if staying w your dog and have one, you will need your own hotspot. Overall, I had a positive stay aside from those things and would stay again.
- 1/5
it was booked at another one....didnt even know there was another Candlewood in Syracuse And they would not transfer the reservation!!
- 2/5
DIRTY
- 5/5
Great place to stay
- 1/5
The property was incredibly dirty. I had to switch rooms because the smell in the first room we were assigned to was so bad that we couldn’t sleep comfortably. I have never been so disgusted with a hotel room. The replacement room was also smelly but more tolerable. Would never go back and staff was not very nice.
- 5/5
Great property that was clean and conveniently located. Would recommend!
- 3/5
Our room was located directly across from the lobby. We could hear everything that happened there throughout the whole night. People walking in, staff talking to them, staff laughing and talking to each other. There was constant noise. If possible, avoid the first floor.
- 5/5
Could use a bus shuttle to and from the airport. Besides that, everything was great.
- 5/5
Very clean and fresh
- 5/5
I like the location of the property. The staff is friendly. The rooms are clean and spacious.
- 5/5
FOH supervisory on duty at check in fantastic
- 4/5
I travel frequently to that area with my dog. I have stayed at The Candlewood several times. I am always comfortable there.
- 5/5
The experience that I had was very pleasant. The front desk representative was very cheery and helpful. The suite was very clean and very nice. Will definitely come back again.
- 1/5
Book through Expedia. Checked in and the room was not clean at all. I thought they were people still in there. Then I was given the option to do two separate rooms and the other room was horrible as well with a very weird smell in it. And the single room was too small so we ended up not staying.
- 4/5
Hard to get out and in the room cause they over painted the door but It was nice I give the room 7/10 rate and the lobby area 4/10 …. Can’t say much but always be with someone .
- 3/5
Spacious room, friendly staff. However requested a non smoking room & clearly smelled of cigarettes. Toilet paper wasn't stocked & multiple things in room were broken (bedroom/bathroom locks, towel rail, etc). Very obvious that franchise owner not investing in the property. Would not stay here again.
