Comfort Inn & Suites East Greenbush - Albany

I booked three rooms for one Saturday night. All three rooms ended up being on different floors. I had 10 children amongst the three rooms, and Saturday morning the pool was closed for maintenance. Breakfast was decent. Rooms were decent. Location was decent.

Everything was good with the exception of some staff who are not as welcoming as others. I remember saying hello to one of them and she never responded, but looked me straight in my face. Others were a bit non character and some was okay. Everything else was exceptional. It was a great stay.

One night stay. Lobby and room are well maintained, very comfortable beds, well equipped bathroom. Exterior doors and stairway need cleaning and maintenance. Good value and convenient location!

This was a lovely, clean, and comfortable stay. The location was just a few miles from tons of shopping and dining. The included breakfast was tasty and had lots of options. We would absolutely stay again if in the area.

The lady that does the breakfast was really helpful and professional, super nice! The staff is also very helpful and nice! I am interested in some deals and sales, so that 8 can come.back.

I was assigned to a 1st floor room in the farthest wing at the very end at the back of the building next to an exit. I did NOT feel safe! I asked for another room, but apparently the property was sold out. I stayed in my room ~ 1.5 hrs to find alternative accommodations. Requested a refund and was denied. I made reservations several months ago. My reservation was for one. No solo traveler should be stuck on the 1st floor by an exit at the farthest point from the main entrance. Very inconsiderate of property that values profit over guest experience.

The only reason this review is four stars and not five (in the context of a mid-priced motel) is that check-in was incredibly slow and inefficient, and they had a credit card offer that popped up on the screen at the counter and after clicking NO, two screens later it popped up again. Not Ok.

Great friendly hotel with great lobby, hot breakfast, spacious individual working place at the tables. 24/7 hot and drinking water. The only drawback is that the window is theoretically opennable by construction but the hotel installed the obstacle to open the window. Thus, we could not enjoy fresh night air.

This was a great stop on our trip from Texas to Maine. The property was clean & quiet. The staff was friendly & breakfast was good. I highly recommend.

The check in process was quick and easy. The room was clean except the sofa bed had several stains and I could not trust my kid sleeping on it even with sheets covering it. Other than that the room was clean. the water pressure and temperature of the shower was great. The beds were comfortable and the staff was helpful. I would stay here again if I am in the area.

The room had a musty odor, and the closet had no doors. Other than that, the room was ok for an overnight stay.

Probably the nicest Comfort hotel we’ve ever stayed at! Lovely new remodeled bathroom, spacious room and continental breakfast. Was busy due to it being graduation weekend in May but never felt overrun with people. Lobby area had a huge fireplace that probably is awesome in those cold Albany winters!

We arrived in the middle of the night so they gave us late check out until noon even though we didn’t need to use it. Thank you Breakfast pretty sparse. Could use more fresh fruit (bananas!) and just more hot food. Prices jacked up for graduation weekend but we’re just traveling through. Very inconvenient for travelers

We loved the family feel to the hotel. Staff were super helpful and thoughtful. My son and I loved the pool! Parking and the proximity to a gas station were an added plus. The breakfast options could use some updates but coffee was great! Adjusting the room temperature took some time to figure out. But this was minimal in comparison to our overall positive experience. Would stay there again.

Breakfast was very good, but two machines were out of order, the juice one and one other. Ice Machine on our floor was AWOL otherwise great room and not dirty as another reviewer commented. Desk clerk did need to speak louder.

Clean environment

Overall just blah, staff seemed not to know how to use the computer systems. I never seen or experienced so many off brand products being used. From the type of food packaging at the breakfast area to the products in the rooms. My best advice is if you're a coffee drinker, go to the gas station in the parking lot (yes, the hotel shares a lot with a gas station). There is a Dunkin Donuts inside. Go there, the hotel coffee is straight from the show 'Fear Factor '

My only complaint would be the noise that was constantly happening outside my room door as it was located directly infront of the pool.

Everything was great. But the free breakfast is not very good. Wasn’t a lot of choices in muffins. One kind and it had nuts and was stale. They could use a danish or something.

Sarah from the front desk was amazing. Obviously the rooms need upgrades as far as beds and heaters. The fan in the second room was so loud it sounded like it was taking off in the heater. That was after the first rooms bed was broken. Sarah went above and beyond for me allowing me to shower in the handicap room even after we had to move because of the bed.

The room was very clean and spacious. Check in was quick and easy. The main lobby as well as the room were modern but cozy. The king size bed was comfortable and the sheets actually felt amazing. Didn't get the chance to enjoy the breakfast before leaving but good to know it was an option. Indoor heated pool looked clean but I didn't use. I also appreciated how quiet the room was, I never heard any noise from the halls or walls.

The room was beautiful and spacious. Staff was super friendly. Breakfast was delicious with attentive staff keeping everything refilled and even helping my kids when I had my hands full! The property is being remodeled and that is being handled in such a way that it really was barely noticeable as a guest.

A worker came into our room at 1am. Unlocked door and walked I . Then called, saying we were not registered to stay there. Twice. Woke us all up and my daughters had a cheer competition at 8am the next day. The back door key cards didn’t work. Construction was messy and loud. It was awful

The room was clearly “under construction” - no closet doors; tiles in bathroom lose and buckled - cut my foot coming out of the shower). No notice that the hotel was under construction and that work would start at 8am on on Sunday morning.

I thought it was too good to be true; a Friday night room with space to comfortable sleep 2 adults and 3 kids under 10, a pool, and free breakfast. Not only was all of this true, but the pool was great, the room comfortable and CLEAN and not at all out of date. The breakfast was delicious and the cafe was clean and comfortable.

Everything was fine... except there was construction happening on the 3rd floor. The front desk associate kindly put me on the 1st floor, but you could still hear the noise, starting every morning at 8am 😒. I was notified that construction was happening when I checked in, but by that time it was too late to find other accomodstions.

Rooms were clean. Beds comfortable. Bathroom tile definitely need work, but they're remodeling them now. Christmas decorations are beautiful! Suggest you hang mistletoe in arbor to parking lot. Check in man is friendly & has a very cool mustache.

Really enjoyed our overnight mid-trip stay here. The facility is open and bright, clean and prep'd. The staff (including late-night check-in clerk) were all very friendly and outgoing. The breakfast was a cut above, including a couple waffle makers, some well-prepared scrambled eggs and crispy bacon (and a host of healthier options I ignored). Will plan on staying there again.

The room was clean and comfortable. It was a very quiet and relaxing atmosphere. I got plenty of R & R which was much needed. After spending time with my family, the pool was very relaxing. A great breakfast each morning and staff was exceptional. I will definitely be back.

Staff is absolutely amazing

The location is right off the highway and within a 15 minutes drive of downtown Albany and many landmarks such as the Empire State Plaza, the State Capitol, and the New York State Museum. I highly recommend the Comfort Inn & Suites East Greenbush in Albany, New York.

Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Room was clean and I love the beds. Loss of one star because the shower controls were very loose and breakfast was just ok.

Clean room, except for a spider in the bathroom. I got rid of it. Other than that. Clean, staff was excellent. Front desk receptionist was a cool guy. I needed a shaver and he got me two and shaving cream. Not high quality shavers but did the job.

Our stay was horrible and they declined a credit. Our toilet wouldn’t work and the shower wouldn’t drain. Also while showering and it’s slowly filling up more and more black stuff started coming out of the drain. Who knows what I was standing in. The main room part was good but the bathroom had cracked tiles pealing wallpaper and mould. Because our toilet wouldn’t flush we had to walk down to the washrooms in the lobby. I spoke to the front desk multiple times and Expedia. Expedia tried to help but the hotel wouldn’t do anything!!

Room was dirty, couch and bed cover stained, staff was very noisy in the hallways. Bed was terrible, when I told the clerk at the front desk, he said “yea, I have heard that a lot” Breakfast was old and stale, very poor even by low BW standards. Overall, a terrible stay. It the only hotel in town and it shows. Drive right past it and stay in Easton.

The parking was right in front and the front desk associate Natalia was 5 stars through and through! Pleasant attitude bright smiles and even called later in the afternoon to ask if the room was ok! A wonderful 1 year wedding anniversary stay! Every time we seen her she said hi and have a good night! Even the housekeepers acknowledged us which was very nice! We only had one guy who didn’t acknowledge us at all but to be fair it was a really busy weekend about 2 weddings going on. The property was spotless and you can slightly open your windows for fresh air which was a huge plus! The only thing was that outside of the rooms you can hear absolutely everything and there were kids and parents talking very loudly for a long time. They left before our last night at the hotel. Our last night was quiet and peaceful and the beds are so comfortable that we barely left. The hotel is very accessible with a front drop off and elevators and stairs if you feel like it. Beautiful entryway decorated with care and the breakfast had eggs, thinly sliced bacon, yogurt, waffles, bagels, muffins, fruit, two choices of cereal and 2% milk only I believe, and different types of juice. There’s a little seating area but it was kind of full every time so we just sat in our room and ate. The sheets were so clean and pillows were nicely fluffed I can’t say thank you enough to the wonderful staff here. It must’ve been so much pressure this weekend to ensure all guests were properly accommodated great job!

The stay was fine, however, a few days after getting home I received marketing phone calls from Choice Hotels on my cellphone. That's a killer for me, and I'll look to take my business to other hotel chains in the future as a result. 1-star for this violation of trust.

We enjoyed our stay at Comfort Inn, East Greenbush, NY. The staff was friendly. Some areas in the bathroom like toilet and bathtub look outdated. Room was clean. Facilities were nicely kept. Buffet breakfast was a little limited in hot food options; just eggs, sausage, and waffles. It was more continental than anything. Gym equipment was a little rusty. There was excessive knocking like 2 hours before checkout time. They came to the room to ask if needed fresh towels and to take garbage out which is strange since it was so close to checkout time. There was a beeping sound on the 3rd floor and a complaint was made and the maintenance person came to fix it. Overall, it was a good place to stay overnight and get some rest.

Check in was quick and welcoming. The room was just right for us; plenty of space, bed made for sleeping, temperature easily controlled. Breakfast offered a nice selection for those in a hurry to those who settled in for a chance to dill up for the day.

I would recommend. There were a couple of cracked tiles in the bathroom and the seams of the wallpaper were separating but still overall good experience. Breakfast had limited choices.

The lobby was different and dramatic. Liked that the eating area was raised above it on the second floor and gave a view of the hotel and surrounding scenery. Breakfast was adequate - nothing special but good. We did have a bit of trouble with the toilet in our room which we were able to fix without calling the desk. Would definitely stay there again if we return to visit.

The only thing I don’t like is their coffee. It’s doesn’t taste good at all. Some staff at the front desk could use an attitude adjustment. Otherwise this hotel has become our go to for the Albany area.

Hotel is clean and well kept. Nice looking lobby. Clean rooms and the bed was very comfortable with ample pillows. I like that the thermostat was adjustable. Breakfast was included 7-10am with scramble eggs, sausage, toast, bagels, make your own waffles, dry cereal, instant oatmeal, juices, coffee, yogurt. Would definitely stay here again. Very close to highway.

We enjoyed the property and location, however the neighboring room was smoking the entire time throughout our 4 night stay. The first night I knocked on their door multiple times to ask them to stop but they didn't answer and turned their music up louder. (Room 235) Then reported the smoke smell to the front desk that the neighboring room was smoking and it was going under the Divider Room Door and around the door. They did nothing about it so we ultimately purchased tape and Febreeze from the gas station next door. Taped around the door that separated the rooms, laid a bath towel on the floor to block the smell coming from under the door and sprayed Febreeze every few minutes around the door. It still smelled of smoke when they lit up but definitely helped the situation some unlike the front desk.

Our room was clean and cozy. The pool was clean the gym was clean/average hotel gym. Ample parking. Dunkin’ Donuts and a gas station was a divider away which I appreciated and was very convenient. I would love to return in the fall and winter time to see how they jazz up the lobby and if the fireplace is on!

Rm 306 bathroom door did not close easily and floor tile grout was broken and missing. Breakfast eggs were watery and breakfast needs more food and fruit options. Facilities were clean and staff were friendly. Convienient gas station and access to Rte 90.

Friendly welcoming staff that is professional and happy to help. The room/bed was comfortable....Bathroom needs some renovating as there was pealing wallpaper/stained tiles. In room there was one chair that had an ugly stain that someone should have noticed and cleaned/replaced.

When I first walked in to check in this place made me feel very welcome and such an open lobby. The rooms look fairly new. The beds were a little hard and the pool was very cold however I felt very refreshing due to the heat outside during my time there. Both afternoon and morning staff were very wonderful and respectful. If I drive through there I probably will stay there as it's right off the 90.

The hotel is very old and not so maintainedthe breakfast was not something without any real selection, the first time there was no cheese of any kind and only bread and jam or waffles.

Issues with room cleaning. No TP. Beds not turned out. We were told that breakfast was supposed to go until 9:30. Hot food was carted off a little after 9am.

We travelled from Florida to Albany for a family funeral and Comfort Inn & Suites hotel accommodations were amazing. The queen double suite was very spacious and clean and the beds were super to sleep in. The complimentary breakfast had a great selection of favorite foods and the buffet was kept very clean. We had a pleasant stay given the circumstances for our visit.

Beautiful hotel. We booked super late and last minute and check in was a breeze and everyone is super nice. Room was nice, probably could use a little bit of upgrades in the bathroom. Breakfast was also very nice. But overall excellent stay

Its a good hotel. Has all the essentials, good clean bed and sheets, towels. Great included breakfast. Accomodations for an infant (hi chair and play pen to sleep in). The staff was nothing but polite. Originally was only supposed to stay 2 nights but it was such a good option we ended up coming back again and again when in a pickle. If we needed anything they got back to us right away. Surprise just how good the hotel is and haven't heard about it before now

Staff is always very considerate and accommodating. Breakfast is awesome too.

My traveling doesn't usually require overnite lodging, so I'm not up to date on check-in, which my companion usually takes care of.

Very disappointed the pool was closed the weekend I was there as I chose the place because of the pool. I should have been notified beforehand and given the option of canceling and going somewhere else.

It was a clean and well maintained. The breakfast area was very nice. Unfortunately the pool was closed for renovation (it looked good through the windows). The only downside was some of the equipment in the fitness room was not operating (treadmills). Overall I was pleased with my stay.

Continental breakfast should offer a change of meats more often. Stayed Sunday through Friday, breakfast meat was sausage Monday morning through Thursday morning. Bacon was served on Friday morning. Maybe rotate meats every other day.

The room above me may have been a housekeeping area and all night long I was kept awake by the noise. I had asked for a quiet room and this ended up being very noisy

Very clean and friendly. They only thing was that one of the reasons I booked The only negative was the pool was not working. The hotel did give me a call the day before that the pool was not working and they would refund me for my stay without any penalty. I chose to go and I am glad I did.

I was amazed what a nice room and property it was for such an affordable price. My only issue is the bathroom needs some love, wallpaper falling down.

Stay was nice other than the fire alarm going off in the middle of the night

The first room we were in had issues with the thermostat, but staff (Cydnee) was attentive and quickly had us in another room. The pool area was very clean and the kids had a blast. We were very happy with our stay.

There was never staff at the front desk, needed extra toilet paper and towels. Otherwise clean property and area is busy but quiet.

Room was in need of TLC. Dirty/mildewed caulk around tub base, missing a sink stopper, terrible paint job on bathroom door - painted over lint and debris. Noisy fridge that we had to unplug. Only way to darken room was to close curtains, but curtain covered the AC/heat unit. So we had to roll them up some. Breakfast and lobby areas were nice. And the pool and gym looked fine.

The wifi stopped working and when I inquired about it I was told that it's working fine for them at the front desk. Unfortunately I can't work at the front desk, I need it in my room to which they then offered "Well, it's raining" as an excuse. Not even a "sorry, we'll look into it for you". Never again.

Water was freezing cold for a shower at 8 am. Charged a $50:fee for my service dog with documentation. Not happy at all with this. We sat down to eat breakfast at 830, at 910 the woman started cleaning up breakfast and shut the lights on and off, basically telling us to leave. Bed was comfy but otherwise, not happy at all.

I stayed here while visiting a friend. The price was great, the beds were super comfy, staff was friendly, the breakfast was delicious, the pool was clean, and I loved sitting by the fireplace in the lobby. I'll definitely stay here again when I come up.

I enjoyed my stay. The lady who works at the Front Desk was kind and accommodating. She was quick to resolve any questions that I had. The place is clean and quiet. I’d happily stay again if I’m ever in Albany. The only thing to note is - if you want to get downtown it’s about a 10-15 minute drive away, so that’s something to consider if you need to be downtown for any reason. But other than that, I have no complaints!

Checking was good. The room we booked was not available, but they worked it out and we were given alternate options at no extra charge. The room was clean and quiet. Breakfast is provided and it's a decent. We had eggs, sausage, waffles, bread, cereal, fruit, tea, juice. I was truly impressed. There was also a heated pool and gym. Would definitely recommend to our friends.

It was convenient of the interstate but most of all Frank the night manager was AWESOME and went above and beyond he was so accommodating and w definite start again

I loved the open foyer with the fireplace. Made a cozy hangout spot that didn't have to be a generic hotel room. The staff was kind and very knowledgeable. The gentleman at the front desk was even able to repair my heating system in my room without calling a technician. I was impressed.

I was shocked at the value for the price. This is a wedding venue and I somehow booked with Expedia for just around 100/night. All the amenities ,beautiful ambiance for Christmas, I was visiting family who joined me in the lobby to hang out but I did not make use of the gym and pool though they looked very clean. The room was luxurious and they allowed my pet which was also surprising. Walking distance to Dunkin Doughnut in the a.m but also had good breakfast options. Access to 1-90 on ramp but no traffic noise. I was able to extend my stay effortlessly for the same rate. Exceptional stay

It's clean, check in is easy, parking available, safe, quiet and its next to a gas station and dunkin donuts (within walking distance), staff is kind.

We needed a place to stay during a snow storm, we were able to call and get a room set up. It's located right off on the highway. In a very quiet neighborhood, very secure and clean. The room was very comfortable. Outstanding all the way around!

The hotel was very nice but for the area I just felt like they were a little bit at a higher price point than surrounding hotels. But it was clean and smelled good and the pool was beautiful though I didn’t swim in it.

The kids liked the pool but a hot tub would have been nice for the adults. Breakfast was also good but hard to find seating when it’s busy. Smaller tables and chairs would allow more families a spot to eat. Over all we had a great time & will probably return next year.

The rooms were noisy l didn’t feel comfortable people were running around in the hallway all night long I didn’t get a good night sleep I could hear people talking in the next room I thought someone was in my room terrified to sleep never staying here again

The bathroom is the cleanest ive seen in a hotel and the shower has super hot water for a relaxing shower with very nice soaps and lotion for use. The mini fridge and microwave are super clean and ready to use upon arrival and each room comes with a postcard to keep or send out to family/lovers. The staff is very friendly and helpful and there is a snack bar availavle near the check in desk with a good selection. I am making this review at night, but i am sure the continental breakfast will be great too. I 100% recommend this hotel to anyone in need of a friendly, cozy and comfortable place to stay while on a long trip.

I was completely blown away by the majesty of this Comfort Inn & Suites. Not considered in the upper tiers of hotel chains, from the very first moment, from the fast and furious exterior leaf removal, to the pristine lobby and cool stairway leading to eating area to the totally unexpected and nicely stocked staples pantry to the personable and efficient front desk staff, I was impressed. It was so much nicer returning to the hotel after activities in Albany. Definitely would do another stay. And thank you Sarah!

Pillows were flat and not supportive. Towels were worn and dingy ( discolored). They were replaced after 2 attempts with much better ones.

We arrived after 8pm tired and hungry. We were greeted by an extremely helpful young woman who recommended a nearby family friendly restaurant. Excellent recommendation! Our room was extremely comfortable. I enjoyed the breakfast buffet, especially Scrambled eggs, bacon and a toasted bagel. This was our 3rd visit in the last year and look forward to returning.

Chose this hotel on our trip east to Maine because of its easy access to the highway & for being pet friendly. Was pleasantly surprised upon arrival to see a bright, new property and be greeted by friendly staff. Rooms were spacious and had all the necessities you need. We missed breakfast 😴 but there was a large area for it. Next door to a Dunkin and convenience store which was a plus 👍

This is a gem! We got in later than we expected but had no trouble getting our room. The lobby is beautiful with lots of windows and plenty of light. Comfortable bed, ample water pressure and hot water in the shower and spacious room. Breakfast was terrific and delicious on the second floor overlooking the sunlit lobby. We would stay here again anytime.

The hotel is very nice, the breakfast was the best I’ve had and the area was 1st class. Parking was easy and convenient.

Friendly staff

I felt overal, it was very clean. The check in staff were average, not unfriendly, but close. Some tile was falling off the bathroom wall and the bathroom door wouldn't shut because the tile floor was too buckled. Otherwise, it was "OK". We won't be staying there again. The value for the price wasn't there.
