after checking in the room, we had issues with the toilet being backed up and also the breakfast Café wasn’t open with the schedule they gave us

Great experience and wonderful staff. Stayed two night and the location was very convenient to the highway and parking was plentiful. Definitely would stay there again

This property was clean, staff was great, parking was great and safe. But, the bed was a platform bed and the matress was hard and very uncomfortable. My husband and I both got about 2 hrs of sleep the whole night. We love to convince to the VA medical center, however the bed might have us looking fo another alternative our next visit.

Beds and bedding needs updated. Extremely hard, lumpy mattresses. Something was going on with the septic. Bathroom sink water smelled extremely bad, like an overflowed septic tank. Would not, could not use the sink water due to the extreme odor of poop.

Located across the street from the medical center. Staff was extremely friendly and incredibly helpful. Facilities are tired and need a thorough cleaning.

A very nice, well-appointed, modern room and motel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The proximity to Duke Hospital and Medical Centers is very convenient. I enjoyed my stay.

We had to travel to Durham for a procedure at Duke Regional. The location was perfect for where we needed to be. We were able to leave the hotel early morning to make it to the appointment. The noise was a little excessive but we made it work. There was someone in the hall or in a nearby room that was making load noises during the middle of the night.

We had an appointment at Duke Medical Center and this hotel was a great choice. During our stay it was raining and the hotel offered free shuttle. Just a very good experience overall! We would recommend this hotel.

Jenelle greeted and checked me in. Then she gave true Southern hospitality by assisting my mom out of the car, into her wheelchair and pushed her to our room while I handled bags. My Mama had been anxious about the surgery and was very tired after our hour long drive to Durham. Jenelle's kindness made her feel welcomed and helped calm her nerves. Her positive, happy attention was the highlight of our stay! Other staff we encountered were also courteous and helpful. The room itself was comfortable but could use the kind of cleaning only an update can effect. We were very grateful to have the room for the night.

Could not get any closer to Duke University Hospital. Plenty of parking. Food is available for purchase. Room was very clean and nicely updated. Do not hesitate to stay here.

The shower didn’t unclog right away when I showered resulting in standing water while I showered it did eventually unclog and the water went away but that disgusting. Also the beds the frames stick out so far, could cause someone to trip and hurt themselves. The facility just seemed outdated.

The hotel appears to be going through a renovation. Hopefully things will be back to normal once it is completed.

We're not told in advance but there was hardly any water pressure at all in the room it was horrible. You couldn't even take a shower it just trickled out. And they were aware of it. But they did not tell us. I take a shower every morning that morning I did not I had to use a washcloth and let the water trickle out of the sink so I could wash my face and armpits.

Great staff made last minute accommodations for 2 couples to be located next to each other in order to help assist one member with physical disabilities. Cafe staff were very friendly and professional. Shuttle driver, Harry, went beyond just driving and helped with wheelchair bound passenger. Highly recommend this hotel.

Bathroom needs maintenance the toilet needs attention it ran more of our stay the shower doors do not have a handle on the inside and the other one will not open. Only one grab bar in the shower. I believe this is not in compliance with the ADA.

The location was perfect for my husband's appointment at Duke! There are many restaurants that will deliver and My husband and I both were impressed by how well we slept during our stay! I will absolutely recommend this hotel and if needed will stay here again!

I was in town for major surgery. The girl at the front fest was very kind and pleasent and got me signed up for a ride to the hospital.

I reported this problem when I checked in, but it was never fixed. I bought 2 hard-boiled eggs in the cafe. As soon as I stuck a fork in the egg it crumbled and water squirted out. Thankfully, the cashier gave me a refund for the eggs. On a brighter note, the bed was very comfortable.

We could deal with the train, helicopters, even others talking outside the door but the door slamming was just too much.

Breakfast was very good, service was good. Everyone that came to breakfast was confused about how it worked and had to get an explanation from the server. Not complaining but maybe it is something you could look at making more clear.

The free on site parking with extended use period allowed me to leave my car at the Lodge for the duration of my visit to the Hospital. It was a very rainy day and the free shuttle to the hospital was quick and efficient in a clean vehicle and very nice driver. The breakfast cooked to order was great.

Had some minor issues with key card not unlocking door. Over all, very nice place to stay. Excellent pkace if visiting Duke medical center and is easily walkable.

Conference at Duke University. Room was very clean and comfortable. Sitting areas throughout the facility and a very nice lobby with lounge. Great for business, a visit or for medical appointments/family.

Room moldy and floor wet

Room value is acceptable. Convenient to hospital. Main complaint is the beds are extremely hard and the bedding is not quality. Lots of pillows is good. Had to layer pillows to ease the uncomfortable hardness of the bed. Bought our own throw blankets to help pad the bed. Mattress rated one star.

Liked that it was close to my husband's medical appointments at the VA. Wish there had been more options for breakfast, but we were able to eat at the hospital, which was fine. We'll definitely stay there again.

I didn’t expect to be able to check in early. I stopped by to let them know I was coming in right after work at 11:30 pm and wanted to make sure my reservation was still set but the lady at lobby said I can check in now. I was so pleasantly impressed. Peace of mind and I needed that. Thank you so much!!

Really, the thing that made this trip decent for me as I was sick and received not great news at Duke so we stayed the night on Friday night (3/7/2025) to Saturday (3/8) and the staff that evening was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING ❤️ I have stayed in a lot of hotels and hospitals the past two years and I have been treated not so great at many of them, but here, you hired amazing staff and I don’t ever write reviews ever. I just wanted to acknowledge that they made by weekend better by being kind and empathetic and treating me and my mother like humans. Amazing place and from now on when I go to Duke this will be my go to place to stay for sure!!! Thank you for making my day a little brighter ❤️

We arrived to find out there was no record of our reservation even though I showed them the reservation and reservation number. They were “sold out”, hum!!!! I guess either they could get a higher rate than they booked us at 3 weeks prior to arrival or Hotels.com didn’t do their job. Regardless, we didn’t have a room and no suggestions were offered. What’s the point of a reservation????

On the other hand, the staff was great! Terrance was especially helpful. He was polite, pleasant, and professional. I spoke with the manager and she was very receptive to my concerns regarding the water situation as well as my compliments to the staff.

We were allowed to check in early on game day. Walking distance was short to Cameron Stadium, the campus and chapel. Comfortable hotel.

Location relative to Duke hospital was fantastic, room was great and staff were very nice and professional. In-house food availability is limited but there are decent nearby dining options. It’s perfect if your destination is Duke hospital or eye center.

Staff was very helpful. Good walking distance from Duke University football, basketball. Room was clean and comfortable. Only complaint is poor lighting in the rooms. There were only two lamps in our rooms and no overhead lights in the entry or the room. Bedside lighting didn’t work in either room. Bathrooms were well lit.

Room was recently nicely renovated, although there were a number of punch list items such as lights not working and missing closet barn door. The area around the hotel is only parking lots and hospitals.

We stayed here for an appointment at Duke Medical Center the staff was wonderful and so accommodating. Shuttle from hotel to hospital and back. They made a very stressful time so much easier.

Convenient location for our purposes. The rooms and interior spaces are much nicer and more contemporary looking than the exterior.

I had an early morning appointment at Duke Medical center and staying at the Lodge made it so easy to park and get there to my appointment on time.
