Everything is good. The front desk paper is very hell and the Maintenance is very good housekeeping nice.

It’s just wasn’t what I expected from the pictures displayed

The room was very clean, updated and spacious. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The property is located in a wooded area by a busy intersection but it's very quiet. The air conditioning is great and the parking is very convenient. The location is great! Only five miles in one direction from Chapel Hill district and five miles in the other direction from Duke. I would definitely stay here again.

I really don't expect a lot from a 2 star hotel other than a half way decent place to sleep and wash up. This didn't even meet that. I had reserved an accessible room. The room had a bathtub, not a walk-in/roll-in shower option. But that wouldn't have made any difference, because while the water turned on and off for the bathtub, the diverter to have the water flow to the shower head didn't work at all! So even though I wanted to take a shower, I couldn't. And then, there weren't even any towels to dry yourself off with anyway! There was one hand towel and one washcloth, no bath towels - and no hairdryer either to dry yourself off without a towel. The room reeked of marijuana which is still illegal in NC. While the location is super convenient, this is definitely not someplace I would ever stay again.

I confirmed the day before I’d be checking in by 11pm, they said I had until midnight. Even I arrived exhausted from traveling at 1031pm they said they cancelled my reservation and gave the room away because I didn’t answer their call when. Prostitues and a pimp were working the parking. Employee Victor was unprofessional and it took me till 1am to find another hotel, thankfully I did and it was so much better than this dump.

The room was clean, and the tub, shower curtain, sink, and bedding all seemed relatively new which was surprising given the condition of the lobby and exterior. The lobby had a horrible smell and was full of boxes. The exterior lights did not come on until almost complete darkness, which made it challenging to navigate the stairs at dusk. There is old furniture and grocery cart’s being stored by the stairs / elevators. The price was a gouge for graduation weekend at over $270 per night.

The staff was weird from the start. I booked a two bed room and when I went to check in the staff guy tried to tell me I only booked a 1 bed room. He said they didn’t have any two bedrooms available. He was convinced that I didn’t book a two bedroom so I showed him proof on the reservation website, he was like “fine I will upgrade you for free to our two bedroom”. Right after he said he didn’t have any two bedrooms. Very weird. I had an assumption that he was gonna try to upcharge me if I didn’t have proof. After that event we got to the rooms and the bathroom was a mess. Mold on the ceiling, half of of the popcorn ceiling was hanging down and smelled horrible. Bed weren’t horrible and didn’t have bedbugs as far as I could tell. But hey it was cheap but still ridiculous.

Was told there was fresh coffee at 6 am. 6:05 am coffee was from night before and room temperature. Receptionist said it was just made. Not okay.

I stayed here last year and it was a good experience. This visit will be my last. The bed was uncomfortable. It felt like I was sleeping on a box spring with a mattress cover on top. The weather was 80-90’s and the AC did not cool the room. It seemed the fan was trying to die. There was a problem with the water and the shower, toilet, and sink could not be used for several hours. This was not a good experience

Decent location and price. Parking available. A bus stop is not terribly far away, but no sidewalks, so a car or taxi is more convenient. Extremely dirty under the bed. A lot of dust, some old socks, and what I believe to be dried-up animal excrement. Also staff refused to hold on to the luggage at checkout.

I had an excellent stay at the hotel. The only thing i had an issue with was the fact that there aren't many food options in the area. Also make sure to have the $50 cash deposit when you check in. The front desk clerk is really nice. I would stay there again.

This was the first hotel/motel I've stayed in that didn't have a coffee maker in the room. I liked the price but I would have paid an extra couple bucks if to have a coffee maker in my room.

Burns on the beds, stains as well on the sheets and blankets. A slight hole in the wall and the sink and bathroom were disgusting. The entire place smelled of cigarette’s and pot, inside the room was horrible.

Now I’ve been in motels that you avoid even taking a shower because of fear of the walls and ceilings, but those were like half the price as this. I’ll give them credit, the top parts of the wall had repairs/ fresh paint to fix what use to be there, but there were still rust spots and black spots.

Stayed here while my son toured UNC… Staff was polite. Room was terrible. People were smoking in the rooms all around us and a dog was barking all night the first night. The heat/ac wall unit kept reverting back to AC by itself and I woke up freezing multiple times. Floor was chewed up at the entrence to the room and the sink pipes and refrigerator were covered in rust. The bed was super uncomfortable and they gave us 3 thin pillows. My neck and back are still recovering from it. I also requested a double and wound up with a king bed for me and my teenage son. If he winds up going to school there I need to find something better. Horrible first impression of North Carolina.

I stayed here on a football weekend. The price I paid per night was inflated due to the game. The price I paid was not worth the value received for my money. I felt the room was wildly overpriced for what it was. It left a bad taste in my mouth. Next time I will consider other options.

When I arrived, there was nobody at the front desk. It took quite a while to check in, and I had to do it through a tiny little window. When I was leaving, there was again nobody at the front desk and nobody answered the bell. I was unable to get a cup of coffee. This will never be my first choice of a place to stay.

I arrived after the 3:00 check in and was told the room was not ready. I left to go eat and came back and it was not ready until after 4. Upon check-in, there were 2 domestic violence complaints and 2 sheriff cars that were there on that call. Kind of unsettling in my opinion.

The inside edge of the sink that you could only see from the mirror reflection was entirely lined with black mold. There were a lot of people hanging out in their cars in the parking lot smoking and drinking. I would not stay here again.

This particular Red Roof Inn has previously had a sordid problematic reputation and now after staying there myself I can clearly see why. My check-in timeframe was in excess of 10-12-minutes despite having made a prior online reservation, which was ridiculously excessive. There was only 3 bed pillows for a king sized bed, minimal number of clean towels for showering and the TV came with a remote and no instructions on how to use it or pull up a local guide for TV channel scrolling. Overall, I don’t think the room rate of $89 plus taxes was worth the cost, but in my case? You live and learn.

It was very nice area with trees around it. Pet friendly, very good snacks and drinks selections. It has a washer and dryer. The staff was friendly. Will stay again when I go back to Durham NC.

Room was clean only stayed 2 nights ex-wife was having surgery at Duke which was a 5 minute ride away but if you want fresh towels you have to bring used ones to the office there was damage to bathroom door, front door molding look like is was kicked in and desk look like is was ripped from the wall but otherwise it was a quiet place

The front desk call me Saturday afternoon and asked me if i wanted another room but it will be ready at night. Coffee is available in the mornings in the lobby but it tends to run out and not be refilled. There is no hair dryer in the room but one can be borrowed at the desk if available. It is just off the highway so there is road noise. No elevator but it’s not very tall. Well-insulated windows do a good job even when ice crystals form on them outside. It has a picnic table in a stand of trees but I didn’t feel comfortable sitting outside there. People were loitering outside the time I considered it, and the road noise keeps that from seeming peaceful.

Appeared to be blood on the floor by the front door. Hair and dirt on the shower walls. Blankets and sheets were dirty. Saving the best for last, the room had what i see as a pretty serious bedbug infestation.

Not very clean. The first room we got smelled terribly of smoke. They kindly gave us another room, that was an upgrade to a larger suite. The bathtub was not very clean and had debris in it. If you are okay with a cheap option with the bare minimum, this would be okay. It did feel like a safe area and was much cheaper than the options downtown.

Booked due to a medical appointment. The day before the appointment my dr. had to cancel. I requested a refund/cancellation immediately. Was told to "submit an email" as the manager on site didn't have the "authority". My dr. even said they would call them to explain this was no fault of my own. 2 day later got an email back saying "no" because I was (a few hours) out of the cancelation window.

The whole place could use some updating. The ceiling in the bathroom was stained and damaged. There were spots on the floor that looked like dried blood. The in-room safe was not working.

Because it was a snowstorm I looked for a reasonable place to stay until the snow cleared. It was a good stay

Bed was comfortable but the linen had some spots on it. Also, the light is so bright outside that it cuts through the top of the curtain making it really hard to sleep in total darkness. The walls looked like they haven’t been wiped down in a while as well.

This property has pros and cons. It's VERY convenient to i40 and the main stretch has LOTS of stores. It's less than a mile from Walmart, party city, dollar tree....many others. It's a quiet property. It's older, so there are some cosmetic issues. The bathroom mostly. No mold, no mildew but some rust around the door frame. I kept my air freshener handy. It's not a terrible stay for a few nights

Staff was friendly and efficient. The room was clean and comfortable. The price was quite reasonable, as were the pet fees. If you don't want a lot of frills, this is a great choice.

This place is horrible. A guy tried to get me to get in his vehicle and I got scared and went immediately into my room! Said same guy went back and forth through the parking lot all night long holding down his horn. Tried to call office never got an answer! Too scared to leave my room until departure! Never again! I had children with me and mom too!

The place was pretty clean, but the bed spread had a cigarette burn on it although i was in a non smokers room. Another thing i didnt like was that it was dog friendly and on one occasion leaving my room there was a pile of Dog feces outside my door.

Did miss: there was not any countertop or cabinet or shelving in the bathroom- not even a space to set down toiletries or a toothbrush.

Easy access to interstate for good price. Just needed a quick place to stay while traveling.

The room was clean and budget friendly. The bed itself was okay. Pillows were flat. Two smallish towels were scratchy. One tiny bar of soap was supplied when you really need two (one for the tub and one for the sink). All that said, for a one night stay when we weren’t spending much time in the room… it was fine for the money. Would consider staying again.

Needed amenities (microwave and mini fridge), but lacks coffee pot, so it requires a stop at the front office for coffee (which is somewhat inconvenient).

3 am in the morning, someone knocked our door. Several times we told we dont know him. We told him we would call 911. We couldnt sleep then. Me and my wife had to leave after couple of hours and drive to VA without sleeping. It was a terrible experience. Also the other rooms we rented for friends, they left around 3 am too because of the bugs running around. Never again!

It was not a very inviting hotel and I didn't feel very safe there. The bathroom floor needs repairs. If traveling alone, I would not recommend this hotel.

As soon as we pulled in a gentleman was yelling that somebody tried to steal his jeep off a trailer and how dangerous it was around the area. It had a horrible smell and felt dirty. The light didn’t work properly above the sink (would randomly turn off and not turn back on), the tub was stained and the bathroom door looked like it had been chewed on. The smoke alarm was missing. It was NOT worth $125.

Front desk personnel didn’t speak English very well , difficult to understand

The location was great, but the hotel was not very clean outside. My sheets and towels were badly stained luckily I had my own. It was very loud because of people hanging in the parking lot. This used to be a wonderful hotel, but it looks bad now

The management of this property has given up on maintenance to concentrate on pure profit.

The hotel is showing it's age. The room was small and the bathroom/shower tiny. The light over the sink area did not work so we had to move a lamp over to it. No amenities.

My expectations weren't high since it was under $100 for the night. Room/hotels was run down, but clean and the staff was nice. Upon check-in, the room was very hot and the A/C blew out hot air. They got me another room. That room was cool, but the A/C was loud. Again - expectations weren't high due to the cost. Thanks.

I ended up did not check in at this place when we arrived we saw a person trying to breaking in someone’s car or at least seem like it. So we park far away. Then the first room they gave me had strong smell of cigarettes and cockroaches on the bed. I then ask for the difference room. I have my boyfriend stay in the car while I ran up the 3rd floor to check the room real quick and somebody was on the 2nd floor asking if I’m alone (I did not spoke back) the second room the AC was not working the room was like 100 Degree in there. I then telling them I don’t want to stay there anymore and the guy said he has to wait till his manager come in the morning to give me back the refund because I booked via Expedia. So no more booking at Red Roof they have bad reputation in my eyes now.

Needed a qucik cheap option to stay for a week and this succeeded. It can be noisy and active at night from other occupants, but that's no fault to the hotel.Staff was friendly.

It was missing an exhaust fan n the bathroom. Upgrade on that & they really deserve a 5 star. Perhaps using a slightly better laundry detergent for a fresher scent on the sheets. Lol. I still would recommend this location.

A pile of dog waste was left on sidewalk for two days I feel that if the crew was going over grounds every day it should have not taken that long to get cleaned up

Outside was poorly lit where the stairs are. Tub had hair in it, sheets had a stain on it like it was burnt and the toilet seat was broken. Room needed a ceiling fan to help with keeping the room more climate controlled. Felt uneasy as soon as I arrived.
