The first room I was in had a noisy raggedy air conditioner. So I changed rooms. In the second room there were two live roaches. One in the living room and one in the bathroom. They offered to switch me to another room but the hotel is obviously disgusting. The walls are paper thin. You can hear people coming off the elevator. So I made reservations at a different hotel

Rooms were super spacious, clean and comfortable. Full kitchens with dishwasher and garbage disposal. Loved the rooms! Breakfast was great! Staff was friendly. Pool was nice, clean and refreshing. The rooms with balconies, unfortunately have not much of a view. Outside our room was 2 dumpsters and highway noise. Hallway carpets were pretty gross. Dog friendly hotel shouldn't have carpets. Great location.

If you plan to conduct electrical wiring work in the hallway, you should not assign rooms on that floor to guests. Alternatively, you should have informed us in advance; the noise started so early in the morning that I couldn't get any sleep. This level of service is absolutely terrible.

We really like the homewood suites brand and look forward to the expected amenities- this one was in a great location but could use a bit of refreshment. Not sure why the hallways have the exposed wiring at the ceiling wall. Breakfast was nice but not as extensive as other locations such as Dallas/ Fort Worth. We had a very long walk from our unit 329 to lobby/ breakfast area. Overall rating is good and I would stay again

Breakfast and gym are great. Pool was closed. Hotel is tired with lots of maintenance needed. Staff were helpful and nice. So it's a mixed bag. Don't expect any accommodations that are high quality. It's an older place.

We loved our stay at the Homewood Suites in Durham. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful - they even accommodated my request to check in early. The room and entire hotel were very clean and well maintained. The location was easy to access and close to both UNC and Duke as well as grocery stores and restaurants. We'll be staying again when we return to Raleigh!

The housekeeper kept opening our door checkout was at 12 but she was opening it at 10:30 like we were supposed to be gone she opened it once and saw her and quickly shut it and then she reopened it like a minute later and stepped inside. Meanwhile, my daughter was getting dressed in the bedroom with the door open so the housekeeper proceeds to grab the sign and put it on the door. I felt very uneasy after that

We love having a 2-BR suite for a family of 5. PLEASE PROVIDE LABELED GLUTEN FREE OPTIONS FOR BREAKFAST. Also, the breakfast staff clearly did not understand what gluten free meant. They insisted that I could not have regular milk and tried to give me oat milk, and they said the only gluten free thing they had was oat milk…. Maybe they thought gluten free meant dairy free? Gluten free means NO WHEAT OR BARLEY. They had yogurt out that was marked gluten free when you looked at the label.

The television in the living room was not working the first night. There was also a dripping faucet in the tub that kept me up. The bed seemed to be unlevel in at the head of the bed. I was so uncomfortable that I checked out a day early. I explained my concerns to the front desk receptionist the night that I checked in. She said she would send maintenance up at 10:00 a.m. the next morning. However I had to call again that next morning until the new receptionist. I was also awakened by loud noise in the next room over. It sounded to me like someone was beating something into the wall. They were also doing floor work all around the hotel. Something that should have been shared before and upon checking in. So that I guess may make a decision on their own whether they choose to stay or leave. I will not be staying there anymore. Thank you for asking my opinion and I would like to speak with someone.

Unfortunately, we had a couple trip-souring events that will make us reconsider booking this hotel again. We never had hot water in our room. The shower was cold even after giving it at least 10 minutes to warm up. In addition to that, the toilet was an issue. The water level was so high and/or the toilet seat was too low that whenever we’d use the bathroom or wipe, we’d get horrible splash back or our hands would dunk into the dirty toilet water. We switched to using the lobby bathroom, but there were tampons and pads strewn all over the floor.

We checked in and didn't notice that was the case and was not made aware of this practice. Our luck, we were the off day. We came back to the room the following evening to find an unmade bed, no new towels, etc. I was made to feel it was my mistake not to know this was the case. I got a set of towels...not a great experience.

Everything is old, musty, and dirty. Cockroaches everywhere. We didn't stay long enough to even put our bags down. I feel terrible for the employees who have to work there. First room assigned to me smells like body odor. asked front desk to switch rooms and second room was great. Smells fresh. Frig and kitchen area was clean. Bathroom sink, tub and toilet also clean. Although a small roach walked by and I had to kill it with a tissue. Expected in these long term stay hotels with kitchen. First floor hallway smells like someone's home after cooking. Need some carpet deodorant. Third floor where my rooms was, smells fresh and clean. The hot water was only a little warm on the first night. Almost froze trying to shower. Second and third night hot water was hot. Great water pressure. Breakfast was great. Love the chai bowl!!!! Potatoes, meat, fresh fruits, cut fruits, oatmeal, hot cocoa, yogurts, cereal, muffins, bagels, waffle maker, parfait, and of course coffee and selection of herbal tea. Compliments to the chef. Scrambled Eggs was good. Fake eggs that has the look of the egg with the yolk was bad, texture was too fake. Great breakfast for a budget hotel. Wifi was down on the second night. Email to print was good. Plenty of free parking. Fireplace setting was nice to enjoy coffee 24x7 and is always hot when I had to get coffee even at 11pm it was hot. Love the real creamer, not the powder type.

Loved the location, it was centrally located to the events we were attending! The facility was very, nice and clean. We were very comfortable in our room. The staff was not very knowledgeable.. We were told at check-in that breakfast was from 7-11. When we arrived downstairs to eat we were told breakfast stopped at 10am. We were rightfully upset because that’s one reason we booked this facility. Two we were told (again) at check-in that check out was at Noon but we had the cleaning crew walk into our room at 9am, that’s unacceptable.

You can save money by grocery shopping and cooking yourself, especially if you have children or its a big family getting rooms with pass throughs! The King Suite actually sleeps 4, 2 adults, 2 children on the sofa bed! It has the "Great Room" , bedroom and bathroom! You get granite counter-tops! Also, it has communal gas grills and a pool

Unfortunately our stay was not the best experience. I booked thru Travelocity two rooms both with 2 double beds for a total of 6 guests. By the time we checked in, those rooms were gone and we were limited to two rooms with 1 king bed and a sofa sleeper, of which is no where near the same comfort level as a bed. Extremely disappointed. The hotel could not contact me prior to arrival due to Travelocity not sharing person reservation infirmation that they have from booking the reservation. Since it was already really late at night and due to booking thru a 3rd party provider we were stuck. In addition, one bathroom door would not shut completely.

Front desk lady was less than helpful and not so friendly either. When I asked her about the consistent problem of not having hot water for showers. Her reply was “I’m not the GM, come back or call Brittany”. Night shift lady was awesome. She was more than helpful during check in. This place is clean and has potential, but the rude and hateful lady at the breakfast area is enough to forgo staying here. Do stay here for that reason and if you want a warm shower because it won’t happen!!!

We splurged for this weekend (and found all the less expensive accomodations already booked) and found Homewood exceeded our expectations -- comfortable, quiet, convenient. We'll be back!

Hotel accommodations were adequate and the people were nice - but this hotel room is a bit tired and in need of a refresh. Never-the-less it did provide us with a good bed. Kitchen is nice to have. Chairs sit too low vs the counter. Shower mechanism works but is in need of adjustment or replacement.

We had a suite, which was spacious for our family of 5. The cons were that the water didn't get very hot in the shower, no ice machine, and no indoor pool. We visited in March, so the outdoor pool was closed.

I disliked that the bathtub faucet would not shutoff completely and there was constant dripping. Also had rust stains around the faucet. Also the toilet did not flush well. This was reported checkout. I was assured that it would be looked into.

Hotel itself was great. Property not so much. Parking lot adjoined comfort inn. Since we had 2 bed suite front clerk old us to park in rear as would be closer. No security or Cameras and 3 vehicles had windows smashed in next to ours. Ours was good thankfully. Need security.

Beds aren't the most comfortable (got a room with 2 double beds). Last time we got a room with a king size it was a better mattress. Vacuuming by the housekeeper could be better. The women working at the breakfast buffet were miserable. Ladies at the check in counter were friendly and helpful.

Nice, spacious rooms. Comfortable beds. Full bottles of shampoo & shower gel instead of tiny bottles. Breakfast was typical, but i had a chia pudding which was pretty good. Only complaint was that there were no ice machines, so if you wanted to fill up your Stanley or Yeti cup with fresh water and ice you had to ask for it at the front desk. That was inconvenient so don’t know that we’d choose this hotel again.

Service was good. Room clean only issue was a mildew smell on hall as well as in my room. The complimentary breakfast was good as well. I was overall pleased with the stay. Was in town for game between my alma mater NCCU vs UNC. Would definitely recommend though.

We had to walk over to the home Depot nearby to get supplies to clean car seats the best we could and tape the windows for the 3 hr drive home. We spoke to the police and he said because the hotels in area we stayed at are close to the interstate that vandals smash and grab and get back on the interstate, plus Durham NC is one of the highest crime cities in NC now next to Charlotte NC. If you take the chance there, the hotel and rooms were very clean and comfy. Too bad we can't stay there anymore. We only stay in Durham for my husbands Drs appt at Duke. We had an appt this morning ( Sept 10th) but we left yesterday the 9th due to this incident. The hotel had cameras but that doesn't matter to vandals. Hope this helps others. If you stay un Durham Id say stay where there is a parking garage. We were NOT charged for the 2nd day. Everyone at the hotel are very nice. Others who work at the hotels said this has happened several times at this hotel so beware. Good Luck.

They kicked me out because an employee pretended that "my twelve year old hitted her",but he was only my 5 years old autistic ki, who when sleeping on my husband's shoulder had a spasm in the hallway when the employee when passing by.we apologized to her and try to explain the situation to the receptionist but they didn't understand and gave us less than 24 hr to leave a property.

Wife and I stayed in a double bed suite with our 15 year old. Beds were a little small for 2 people and the couch and carpet were very dated. We put a bed sheet over the couch. The rooms have a fairly nice layout and worked for a family of 3. Any more would have been right. Small kitchen was nice.

The hotel was quiet and in fairly good condition. The pull out bed in the couch had a big stain on the bottom, which was a little off putting. Everything else was pretty clean. The suite was nice size and the kitchen was nice. The hotel staff were very nice. At breakfast there were various choices - cereal, bagels, muffins, eggs, sausage, toast, coffee, juice. The only suggestion I would have is to maybe label the muffins and maybe have another sweet treat like danish or cinnamon rolls. Overall our stay was good.

The Hotel was quiet, front desk agents and staff were friendly & apologized for inconvenience but then again low stars for not offering a discount for the AC not working properly at night. AND the fact that maintenance was scheduled to check the smoke detectors in the rooms but at NO moment did they send out a flyer to let quest know that they needed to get in the rooms. I had someone knocking on the door, but they never identify themself and why they needed to get in the room (I had the "Privacy door tag" on the door & he INSISTED that he get in without asking if everyone was dressed!? If they would have slipped a flyer under the door the night before to let the guest know!? (I WORKED AT A HOTEL AND YOU HAVE (MUST) NOTIFIY THE GUEST OF ANYONE OR ANYTHING THAT WILL BE HAPPENING IN THE RESERVED PAID FOR ROOMS)!!!!! But yes, after that they did send out a flyer for another maintenance check after THAT!!! I was appalled that the maintenance staff member DID NOT identify himself & then accompanied by an outside company (Fire Inspectors) as well!!!! SAFETY first for me and then you can say I was or may have been wrong to NOT let them in at the moment WHICH I DID due to the fact that I know the inspector had a job to do!!!!! Another reason for low star is breakfast (brunch)! They had tacos on the BREAKFAST bar. We had breakfast meat at least 3 times in a 9 day. AND I saw a staff put the ice used to cool the yogurts in the water cooler that we drank!! I'M GLAD I BUY WATER ...
