    We were booked for a 3 night stay. On 1 of the 3 nights our room was not cleaned. I went to the front desk to get clean towels and specifically asked that housekeeping clean our room the next day. The next morning, we saw housekeeping outside the room next to ours andI asked the girl if we were to have our room cleaned. She told me that she would be there in 10 minutes. An hour and a half later, when we checked the hallway, she had skipped our room entirely and I had to ask again to have it cleaned. In addition, the first night we were there, I tried to call the front desk but the phone did not work. I alerted the front desk and they said that they would have maintenance come up and fix it. No one ever showed up the entire time we were there.

    This hotel was very convenient, it is attached to a Ruth’s Chris steakhouse and share a lounge area with gas fire features. AJ the manager of the Steak house is awesome and very accommodating. Nice bourbon list as well. Highly recommend this property.

    Unfortunately, the condition of the room added to my dissatisfaction. The room looked shabby and worn, especially the bathroom wallpaper, which had noticeable brown spots and appeared poorly maintained. The bathtub and shower also had chips and looked old and dated. Overall, the condition of the room did not match what I expected. The late checkout issue only added insult to injury. Based on this experience, I will likely not stay at this hotel again.

    Staff and room were great EXCEPT the toilet in our room ran non stop and you could even hear it with the bathroom door closed. AND the tub drain was clogged because when one person took a shower the water filled up mid calf level inside the tub. You stood in dirty water not draining. It took quite a while for water to drain out so next person could even attempt to take a shower. Those two things made our stay not so great.

    Staff was EXCELLENT. Hotel is in a GREAT location. My only "complaint" was that the TV in the room was not a smart TV, so I couldn't log into my Netflix account in the evening. But I would definitely stay there again.

    Within an hour of entering the room a large cockroach ran across the floor. I reported it to the front desk staff who were responsive and offered to move me to another room. I decided to stay so they offered me $10 discounted breakfast for the remainder of my stay. When I attempted to use the coupon the waitress in the restaurant told me it was only for one day and attempted to take the coupon away from me. I notified the desk supervisor who went over and informed her that it was good for all of my stay. I ordered French toast and sausage. When I attempted to eat the French toast, I realized it was as salty as the Dead Sea and the sausage had a terrible odor to it. I guess someone thought I deserved payback. I requested that housekeeping refresh my room but that never happened. When I took a shower the hot water lasted only a few minutes and then went cold for a few more minutes. It seems like there is something wrong with the system or it is programmed to limit hot water usage. Needless to say I won’t be staying at this location and it has eroded my confidence in the Hilton Brand as a whole.

    When we arrived it was about 1:49am there was no one at the front desk and the front doors were locked. I called the front desk via cell phone and rang the call button by the front door. There was no answer and no one arrived for approximately 10-15 minutes. If the front desk person is alone overnight, why not have some sort of cell phone or mobile device so they can be alerted when away from the desk. 10-15 minutes is a long time for a tired family of 7 including two toddlers that just finished traveling 4.5 hours.

    Bar staff members were great! As were the other staff. Love the outdoor patio with fire tables. Several very good restaurants within walking distance. Room was very nice. We did eat breakfast as it was a bit pricey. One thing I suggest is that coffee and water be available in the lobby for all guests not just those eating breakfast. Complementary water and Kurig coffe were available in the room. Would stay again and highly recommend.

    I enjoyed my stay and got a good night’s rest. The hotel is nice, but the furniture is getting dated and quite worn. I was first assigned to a room that had not been made up, but that was quickly corrected as I was switched to another room. No big deal. The toilet was running off and on, but I was able to figure out how to stop that by giggling the flush handle. A maintenance person knocked on my door quite early in the morning apparently to check on a wall they had recently pointed in the room. That was just a confusing encounter, as I had no idea what he was talking about and he did not come inside to check anything. Otherwise, the room was excellent and I had nothing but good interactions with the staff. Overall, I had a fine one-night stay at Durham Southpoint.

    Hotel staff came with thermometer to measure water heat!! Requested the night before departure to allow additional time to check out the next day. Was not feeling well and was told they couldn’t tell me and that I had to call on the day of. Same person on duty the next day refused to check reservations the day beforeWas told it was the RULES!! Also arrived 15 minutes before closing of one breakfast. Was told I absolutely couldn’t get any more food by 10am when they closed the place down. Asked for 5 extra minutes and was told those are the RULES!! Didn’t realize this was a boot camp hotel and will never be returning. They need some lessons in hospitality!

    I thought some of the furniture was outdated. The desk in our room showed servere wear and tear. If i had a complaint it was the noise level. apparently the doorsxare extremely heavy in the rooms. vSo between people coming in and out of the rooms and maid service cleaning. You could not get any sleep on the 2nd floor. vi by no means am a light sleeper. The slamming of the door made you jump. So no sleep the two mornings we were there. Honestly had it not been such dreary cold and rainy weather we probably would have checked out saturday morning. It was not a restful visit. Everyone was nice in the hotel and the lobby and outside firepit was very nice.

    Booked a king suite thinking that we would have a luxurious experience, but unfortunately we didn't. We didnt have heat in the main bedroom, the shower didn't get hot and then it wouldn't turn off. Had to use the guest bathroom sink because it took about 10 minutes for the water to heat up in the main bathroom sink. Didnt use the pool because it was too small. Website says room service was available, but when we inquired about it we were informed "that's a lie the website is wrong." Breakfast looked like the breakfast you would receive for free elsewhere - definitely wasn't worth the prices being charged. All in all not a luxurious stay, totally disappointed.

    We have one evening stay at this hotel on 11/16/2024. At around 9pm when I tried to use shower and bath tub does not have water at all. The hotel frontdesk said they would contact working to fix the issue. But few hours later, after repeated calls, they said the people who could fix the issue all went home. The earliest time possible to fix the issue would be 8am the next day, which is about the time for us to checkout. The frontdesk then said he would discount the charge for $100, but since I booked through Expedia, they would refund to Expedia and I have to contact Expedia for the discount. The I contacted Expedia Travel Team. According to Expedia Travel Team, "Unfortunately, after multiple tries, we weren't able to obtain an approval from the Hilton Garden Inn Durham Southpoint manager to waive the refund fee."

    A/C and hot water did not work in the room i checked into. I called front desk at 10p and did not get an answer. I was not given an option to move to another room until 2p on Friday. The gentleman in maintenance that helped me move my room was very nice and helpful. I was given a free coupon on Thursday at 12:30 pm on Thursday....2.5 hours after breakfast.

    The room smelled like heavy cologne. No hand soap in the bathroom. I was told breakfast was served between 7-11. They didn’t say for purchase. I assumed at least free coffee. I planned on a grab and go and was disappointed I needed to take the time to stop on the road.

    Hotel staff is excellent very helpful. The only bad review is over the past 3 years of staying the rooms dated and worn without being maintained. grout and tiles missing in bathroom. rugs worn out and missing wallpaper/paint in spots on wall.

    I just stayed at the Hyatt and could have stayed another night there for $80 less, and had breakfast. The same Cheeze-It has been laying in the hallway since check in. Terrible service, advertising, and cleanliness. 1 star rating or lower.

    The property was neat and clean inside and out with the exception of the laundry room it needed to be swept. One of the staff had charged me for an extra day and it wasn’t a promblem of asking for the money back but he did not credit the money back properly.I had to call back again after 3 days and talked to the manager and she said he had missed a step but she corrected it. Also the halls are hot on the upper floors. I noticed this in another hotel. Is this normal? Never seen it this way in other hotels in other states.

    Hotel was nicely appointed with lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Room was clean and nice. Quiet. Most thrilled about the breakfast that they served until 11 am! Great variety, great service from the dining staff. Overall a relaxing, great stay.

    Normally we stay in Choice hotels (basic stay, breakfast included). But, we had a little extra $ to spend so we chose this place. Overall, the hotel was very nice, clean, and comfortable. Not sure why but we ended up with a handicapped room so it was right in front of the elevator which was noisier than it would have been. The shower/tub were very small and slippery! The shower curtain stuck to the body when wet so that wasn't a nice experience. We had a good night's sleep and was looking forward to breakfast, but that was the biggest disappointment. It was NOT included so we had to pay an extra $14 per person. The food was LESS than mediocre and highly disappointing. We would have been better off going somewhere else. If you do stay here, make sure you don't get a handicapped room unless you need it, and if you do, please use CAUTION in the bathroom! Make plans for breakfast and do not waste your time and money on this "amenity".

    This is not a gamer, friendly hotel you cannot plug anything into the HDMI inputs on the TVs in the rooms so you cannot access any of your streaming capabilities. You can only use the cable TV that they have.

    Though the amenities listed say there is a hot tub, there is only a room available with a jetted tub. I booked because of the hot tub. Additionally our room had dirty floors and no coffee. When we asked for coffee the front desk said they were out.

    Went down to use the pool only to find that it was ‘closed for a private event.’ Apparently, the hotel had reached a co Tracy with a swimming school. Therefore, it was closed to patrons. I was informed by one of the swim instructors that it would be open at 6:30pm. Decided to wait in the lobby with my children. I went to the front desk to ask about whether the swim school would be active on Saturday and was told yes, but that she didn’t know which times. I asked ‘is there anyway to find out the hours?’ Her reply ‘are they still there.’ I replied ‘yes.’ ‘Well, then you can go ask them.’ Obviously, I was a bother. We did use the pool that evening, but be warned it is very small. I saw that it listed a 25 person max-theirs is. I way. I was there with my two boys 5 and 8. Another mother brought her three boys all under eight and then a second sibling pair arrived (approximately 12) that pool was FULL. Furthermore, in the description it said amenities included a continental breakfast. Not so. Breakfast was $13. One of the main reasons we picked that hotel was for the pool had I known about the swim school, I would not have booked it. We will not return.

    Hotel has many utility issues including cold water for an unreasonable amount of time during our stay. There are also many unsightly damage to property within the rooms and hallways of the hotel. Staff was not very apologetic or empathetic to our concerns.

    I was in N.C. for a reunion BBQ in Piney Wood Park which was 7 min. from hotel. The staff and accommodations were great. I will be staying here for next years reunion.
