Nice enough hotel but I took some points off for a general wet smell in my room and the hallways. Not sure what it was.

Parking was easy and covered. Hotel was dated but clean and quiet. I would stay again.

Enjoyed. Bacon was too thin without much flavor. Loved the grits!

Staff were friendly, hotel was clean. Booking.com did not have it stated that the ppol was closed for maintenance and the front desk person stated they had updated Booking.com. The pool was a big reason I picked this hotel.
- 4.5/5
Clean place with helpful staff. Breakfast was great—hot proteins and waffles, plus a full oatmeal bar (in addition to the usual hotel breakfast food). Pool was still under construction. Room was fine, not in perfect shape, but great for the price. Would stay there again.

Staff very nice and helpful
- 2/5
My stay was a very poor experience. With regards to the accommodations, my room was in need of a complete renovation. During my stay multiple cars were broken into (i.e. windows busted out) and stuff stolen.
- 5/5
The hotel was beautiful. The staff was courteous and helpful. The room was really clean. The queen bed was comfortable. We will stay there again.
- 1/5
No hot water. Ten cars had their windows smashed in the parking lot
- 2/5
It took almost 45 mins for the water to warm up
- 4/5
needs general cleaning and spurceing. nice facilty, good value, just feels older.
- 4/5
the staff was friendly and spoke each time we passed. the room was clean upon arrival and when we asked towels were provided quickly. We enjoyed the breakfast. Parking was really convenient.
- 5/5
The lobby is amazing, the staff gave us a warm welcome. Smelled nice.
- 5/5
Great atmosphere, clean, good breakfast selection, close to gas & shopping.
- 4/5
If you like a firm bed this hotel bed is for you. The king bed room was spacious. The couch was very old and had a torn cushion. I mentioned it to the staff and they were very apologetic. They covered the couch with a sheet for us. The bathroom had everything we needed. I appreciate the bottle dispensers for shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The breakfast offered a variety of hot and cold foods.
- 4/5
Great place to prop your head after a long flight back into RDU before heading back to Charlotte. Easy access to the interstate and away from the hustle and bustle of NC Triangle traffic.
- 5/5
The staff is so friendly and helpful. My favorite Durham hotel. 5 stars.

- 4/5
It was clean, smelled great, great location, affordable, and friendly staff
- 4/5
Convenient location for this work and personal trip! Close to the mall!
- 5/5
Hotel was very nice and spacious. Bed was comfortable and lobby/dining area was large and open. Negatives, the pool was out of order and there was a half empty bottle of tea left in the refrigerator and a used soap bar on the soap holder in the shower. Otherwise, the complimentary breakfast was very good and the facility and staff were nice
- 2/5
Beds were extremely uncomfortable and the pillows were cheap. The refrigerator sounded like a helicopter and my wife found 2 dead bugs on the floor. I wasn’t mad at anyone or anything from the property these are just my observations. I won’t stay here again.
- 3/5
There are dated smells in the lobby and rooms.
- 5/5
The property was clean, quiet
- 4/5
Property was nice and clean. Comfortable. Staff was very friendly. Good location. Breakfast was a nice bonus and always had choices. Wi-Fi wasn’t the best, at least in my room
- 4/5
What I did NOT like was: the cleaning lady was using some REALLY old bleach water or SOMETHING that smelled disgusting. The smell was everywhere, but especially on the floor she was "cleaning" . I wish someone would ask her to change out her water MUCH MORE FREQUENTLY!!!!
- 5/5
Very friendly and accommodating staff. A good value and a clean comfortable room close to UNC campus and restaurants. Have reserved there again for a return visit to the area.

This is a great place to stay. Traveling alone I felt safe. The front desk people were all super friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay here again.

water leak around the toilet but I was only there for one night so it wasn’t a big deal…

Excellent room was very clean and staff was extremely friendly and helpful
- 5/5
The staff was really great with me. They offered recommendations to eat. They suggested a local place called Nantucket Grill.

This was a fairly nice hotel, especially for the price. I will say that we stayed on the upper floors and I did notice in the building itself there was notable water damage in the ceilings, and it did smell a bit musty in the room, like a moist basement. But the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and it was clean overall. One thing that did bother me was that during our four days at the hotel, despite never removing our do not disturb sign from the door, housekeeping did almost come in once waking us from a nap mid day, and they then came two days later at 8:45 on a Sunday but left after we declined service after they knocked. But the do not disturb signs are quite small, and maybe they did not see them, and either way it was rectified. A pretty good stay for the price, and I would stay there again.
- 4/5
We stayed 3 nights for Dreamville fest and everything was great aside from them never cleaning our room. We had to go down every night when we got back for new towels. I even asked for a large trash bag because they didn’t empty our trash either.
- 3/5
We had a ceiling water leak. Ants all over the desk. Got moved. 2nd room next to laundry room. Machines pounded as they ran. Partying in one of the rooms next to us. Afraid to complain. The burden to move was on us. We had to repack our belongings. Would love a partial refund of our stay. We actually enjoy staying in this hotel. It is not our first stay. We have booked a child’s room as well.
- 4/5
This was our first stay at this property and overall, it was very good. Our only complaint, which is significant, was that the mattresses in our room were terrible and we woke up sore. However, we reported this to the person at the front desk, Alexander, upon check-out and he said he was very sorry and took off one night's stay from our bill for our trouble. We were very surprised and pleased as we did not expect this. He also told us that we would be given an upgraded King suite the next time we stayed there. This unexpected gesture was very nice and we will definitely stay at this hotel again.
- 5/5
I enjoyed my stay. I was very comfortable and felt safe. The manager on duty Mr. Taylor was sooo nice and informative.
- 4/5
Nice place. Breakfast could be better
- 2/5
The biggest downside was that they had no hot water which, as you can imagine, is a HUGE inconvenience. This should be an absolute necessity, especially when booking a room at a 4-star hotel. While we were hoping to have a relaxing evening/night before heading to Duke Hospital for what will be a very stressful day, we had no such luck.
- 5/5
Friendly helpful staff. Great breakfast. Will stay again.
- 4/5
The hotel was very clean, fresh and comfortable.
- 1/5
Hotel charged my card for “no show” and will not refund. I was only a no show because I was in the ER and admitted to the hospital. All I asked them to do was to transfer the reservation to a new night. Too bad, now I will never EVER stay there because of poor customer service.
- 4/5
My 10 year old daughter and I stayed thanksgiving night and Friday night. Our stay was great overall but I have two complaints! The indoor pool water temperature was not warm enough for even the kids to swim in and they had no towels in the pool area! Second issue was that my room 312 had a very loose toilet seat and I stopped at the front desk our first day to inform the staff! Nothing was done about either issue, the most important being the toilet seat issue!
- 5/5
We wanted a Hotel close to Duke Southpoint that offered breakfast. This fit for us.
- 5/5
We had a great experience. The room was clean, the bathroom well stocked. Enjoyed breakfast. Very nice facility. Will stay again
- 4/5
It was good place to stay.
- 5/5
Absolutely lovely stay. The staff was fantastic and the gentleman that oversees the breakfast is a true professional. You can stay at a different place but it’s going to cost more definitely. Proximity to anything in the triangle is relatively easy from here also!
- 2/5
Bed was really uncomfortable, it was like sleeping on a rock. Also, room smelled like cat pee.
- 5/5
Room was good but staff was outstanding. From the front desk to housekeeping to the breakfast staff, everyone was kind, friendly, and hard working. Highly recommend!
- 5/5
This was a clean nice place. The pool was nice and so were the employees . My only small complaint was that the air conditioner was very loud and made it hard to sleep. THE Breakfast was also nice and the employees were very pleasant and helpful.
- 5/5
Everyone was very friendly. Hotel was conveniently located. Pool was nice. Breakfast was exceptiponal
- 4/5
The property was nice and quiet. The only issues we had was our TV didn’t work and our air didn’t work but they did send someone to fix the air but we never had the TV to work.
- 2/5
The AC quit, and had to have a maintenance man to come in the middle of the night
- 5/5
Nice place. Clean and very accessible. Enjoyed our stay
- 4/5
Overall, the property was decent. The room had a stinch in it when we walked in and one of the comforters was quite dingy compared to the other bed and the seam was dirty. However, the employees were excellent both days and on all shifts. This includes the front desk, housekeepers, and maintenance man.
- 1/5
Room smelled awful. AC didn’t work
- 3/5
This is not Marriott!!!!!
- 4/5
There should be a noise curfew in the lobby. A fan would be nice in the bathroom. A nightlight in the bathroom as well. TV stations didn’t work well. All in all, it was a nice stay. One of our favorite hotels when we travel to Durham.
- 3/5
Our room was not very clean!
- 5/5
I called in the morning to request that the shower in my room be handicap accessible. Mr. Leonard went above and beyond to honor my request which my stay that much nicer.
- 5/5
Everything was great with our stay! I really appreciate that they had turkey sausage available.
- 2/5
I expected a better service not employees ignoring their customers. There was no free coffee or tea available in the lobby. I had better service at less expensive hotels than this one. Dated rooms and bathrooms. Breakfast was ok.
- 5/5
Staff members were all friendly, at least 5 inquired about our stay during breakfast/checkout alone. Check in was seamless, and Alexis even asked us preferences when assigning our room. When the staff is happy, it shows.
- 1/5
Worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life! Manager does not call you back so they clearly don’t care about their customers, Expedia is just as bad and I will never use either of them ever again in my life!
- 5/5
Jack was very helpful and the place was very clean and quite. there was an issue with the Expedia bill in the beginning.
- 4/5
Was a very nice hotel. Really liked the shampoo and conditioner and body wash in the shower. Breakfast was good. We did find a dead roach in our room though.
- 5/5
I Loved This Hotel ! inside and Out!
- 5/5
Every person who worked there was extremely friendly and welcoming.
- 5/5
Great service
- 5/5
Great location close to UNC campus. Staff very friendly
- 5/5
It was very well arranged and inviting on the inside. The young man who checked us in was especially friendly and accomodating!
- 4/5
It was really nice, the only downside is that there is no microwave in the rooms. So couldn’t warm nothing up if I needed to. Also the laundry area was closed, and the eggs for breakfast was cold. Outside of that really awesome place to stay and I will consider staying again.
- 5/5
Need microwave in room but overall everything is great
- 3/5
There was no microwave in the room, the shower took about 5-10 minutes to warm up, and as much as I paid the breakfast was VERY underwhelming.
- 4/5
It was clean
- 5/5
Very friendly staff, convenient to shopping and dining, clean and comfortable room!
- 4/5
Stayed 2 nights. Everyone was great…especially upfront counter staff. Brrakfast good. Only issue…the ac/heating window units sounded like a space shuttle taking off. Talked to friends in other rooms with same issue.
- 4/5
Dated technology @ check in. Ice maker on floor broken and fridge in room broken. And indoor pool was closed for service. Otherwise everything was great.
- 1/5
My shower didn't function (trickles of water as opposed to an actual stream) and my breakfast sandwich had mold on it.
- 3/5
Staff was friendly, for a Marriott, the room could have been alot better
- 3/5
We were relocated. Second room had no hot water. It was too late to move again. You hotels have always been great, what is happening?
- 2/5
Rundown. Not up to fairfield expected standards
- 3/5
This property appears to be declining in customer comfort. The room was marginally clean. Water was not warm enough to shower. Check-in clerk was very indifferent. While there were numerous items available for breakfast, most were not very appealing and the buffet items were simply unacceptable (either cold or poorly maintained).
- 4/5
Great
- 3/5
We stay every 3 months like clockwork (come into town for medical treatments,) but this trip felt “off.” We were certainly treated differently by staff this time than any time before- as though we were a burden. This happened while calling to confirm, during check in, and for breakfast…we had no requests or problems…just felt as though we were being treated the way a teenager treats their younger siblings in front of friends (with a bit of a attitude, and as though we were inferior.) This has never happened before, and unfortunately it was by 3 different staff members. I will say it is worth mentioning there was a conference of some sort staying on property, but while the quantity of their discounted room fees far outweighs our single full-priced room, it does not change that we were paying guests of the same establishment. If I had to base our likelihood of returning on this most recent stay alone- I would not stay again.
- 1/5
The room wasn't what I expected to tight, bathroom was just a ordinary bathroom nothing special, needs shower caps and microwave, cable went out first night, the again next morning if I had not spent so much money I would have left, need to specify that tv interruption may occur during rainy weather, and that they may have bugs, small roaches, and GIANT ROACHES after that I left as soon as day light came will not return
- 2/5
I had to get switched from my room due to ants only to go the next room right above it and it had ants all over as well
- 4/5
We will continue to use this hotel when in town for dr visits, and are happy to recommend. (Skip Cheesecake Factory if you’re hungry, continually a disappointment.)
- 5/5
The room was not as nice as other Fairfield locations I have stayed But overall it was still nice. The staff was friendly. I do wish breakfast hours were later than 9am and housekeeping didn’t knock on my door at 8:30am when checkout is at 12pm. I will definitely stay again though.
- 3/5
Water didnt get hot the only problem i seen so i didnt stay
- 5/5
This was an incredible stay. This was our first trip with a service dog, and we were slightly nervous. We were treated perfectly. This is where we will stay from now on when in town for healthcare.
- 1/5
This hotel is really struggling. They advertise free buffet breakfast but are doing an extremely basic “grab-and-go” instead without advertising this. When asked for room to be freshened on 4th day as stated, they said yes that the room would be cleaned but this never happened. The staff is rude, and not welcoming whatsoever. This is truly a disappointing Marriott hotel.
- 2/5
Never saw staff except for 5 minutes to check in. Breakfast wasn’t set up. Coffee was empty at 8am. Room seemed unclean. At night there was a whole bunch of noise in the lobby till late.
