I return a few days later only to learn that my reservation was canceled due to the fact that I was told to come back a few days later because I had been there for 28 days. Only to find out that I was told to come back a month after that reservations were confirmed online. Also my $50 security deposit has not been credited to my card. Misinformation after my return after 28 days

The room needed several upgrades and the AC did not work very good,

The person there for check out was very nice. The facility was run down, dirty, moldy. Things were broken. The entire property smelled like weed. The shower was so nasty I couldn't even use it. The person there at check in wouldn't speak in a regular voice. Just whisper. There was nothing on the web site about a deposit. Found that out after I got there. I would not recommend to anyone. I would recommend the owner taking at least a little bit of pride in the business and at least offer sanitary rooms.

Twice went to counter after checking in . Request bed be remade due to hair on covers ( showed them) them said sorry and would change. I waited 30 mins n chair. I couldnt look at tv because the remote and lights in bathroom didn't work. I took photos of all of this along with the bug on bedspread. When they came in they put batteries in remote, light bulb, changed sheets . I asked for new bedspread due to I believe bugs. They never changed . I finally put linen on chair and slept in that. I couldn't wait to leave that horrible place. By the way the noise from outside and next door was out of control Everything.

Ice machine did not work on 2nd floor. Hard to understand service desk manager. I ask for a wakup call and did not get one. Was late for my interview.

the staff was great but what threw us off was the fact that the sheets weren’t changed. they had a stain, a couple of hairs sitting on the bed and pillow. The mirror near the cooler and microwave was stained as well. and inside the fridge was someone’s lefts over frozen in place. the bathroom? gross. didn’t even try sweeping it or cleaning the sink. We had to clean it ourselves with wipes. the toilet as well. nothing was done for cleaning. Just re-folded it and called it a day. Very disappointing.

Rooms were not clean and bathrooms were filthy full of mold and pubic hair. Dried pee on the toilet seat. $50 a night is a deal, but at what cost? Random people walking around the parking lot at night time. Entire hotel had an odor of marijuana. Stay elsewhere. You have been warned.

Absolutely horrible. Room smelled of cat piss and the ammonia smell was overwhelming. Front Desk refused to move us to a different room. Customer service is worthless and crack addicts are roaming around the hotel at night. Spend the $10 and stay somewhere else in Dumfries. STAY AWAY from this hotel.

The room price was very reasonable, offering great value for the stay. In addition, the location is conveniently near gas stations and I-95. Because the property is so close to I-95, there was a fair amount of road noise audible from the room. It didn't bother me much since I expected it, but it is something to be aware of when booking.

It was nice and peaceful

Reception guy was responsive when I got there late. Room was worn out looking. Cracks in tiles, cigarette burns. It felt like Patty and Selma's apartment from The Simpsons. And doors in corridor make thunderously loud slams. Why not spend just a bit of money to add devices to prevent this? And I could hear guy in next room snoring.

Morning employee was very nice but I didn’t like the nighttime employee at all LAZY AND UNCARING Really nothing

Felt unsafe due to the other patrons, disgustingly dirty, not somewhere I would take my kids. Bed sheets were dirty and smelled like cigarette smoke.

Door keys have to be re set almost daily, no housekeeping come to your room. When you go to the desk for toilet paper or trowels, bad attitudes. At least the men. One woman was kind. And now they make you do a $50 deposit. Of course it’s refundable. But it takes weeks to come back to you. Dirty, smelly, and you have to watch your car. People will scratch, dent and spill things on your car. I travel this way a lot for work. The only good thing about the place, is the location. And it used to be the price before the deposit was added. Sinks and tubs in certain rooms just keep running. Dripping constantly. Dirty floors, holes in all the bed sheets, dirty microwave and fridges. But they will hold your money in case you make a mess. The whole place is a mess.

Avoid this place! Halway carpet smelled like rotten milk and dead fish. Non-smoking room smelled like stale cigarettes, old food, and used cooking oil. They wanted to charge us for shampoo and soap until I asked for the written policy and the clerk called the manager.

First room i was in seemed to not be clean at all and it smelled really bad, but when i notified staff they were really wuick to assist me and changed my room for me and this one seemed clesn and didnt smell thankfully it seemed good and no bugs as far as i could tell thankfully and very accommodating to requests as well!

The cherry on top was waking up to an altercation next door where someone threw a brick & broke the heating unit, waking us at 1am. The staff was lovely though. Owners should either gut this place or sell to someone who actually cares

My sheets had stains, cigarette holes, and hair on them. My shower had mold in it. The water wouldn’t drain. Things were rusting. It smelt weird. And there’s a sign on the door warning you to lock your doors and that they aren’t responsible for what gets stolen.

Service was very friendly and helpful when the keycard had to be reactivated every day. The nice calming sounds of Dumfries Virginia was cut abruptly short by a dog next door that spent its entire day practicing a G minor note, and random friendly strangers providing a unconsensual opera at 2am. Where the atmosphere of the surrounding area wasn’t perfectly matched the unique wall art under the office desk offset it perfectly. And if you were looking to get your nails done look no further, free press on nails are found throughout the hotel room.

No one was available for check in, housekeeping never came not 1 time for entire stay, the sink clogged in bathroom and they never sent anyone to even attempt to fix it or move our room we stayed the entire stay with nasty smelling water stuck in a sink making that whole area unusable for entire trip

Look, you get what you pay for. I really only needed a room for the night...somewhere to sleep. They may be trying to update the place but my room was stained, rusty, and JUST OLD. I don't have pics anymore. I wasn't planning on leaving a review but I found myself here so why not? The room served it's purpose but I wasn't too happy about the dingy room.

I liked the layout of the room; the ground floor rooms having access from both indoors and outdoors was very convenient, along with parking directly infront of your room. The location is sort of hidden in the back, but there are multiple signs to point you in the right direction.

The place was horrible. The front desk associate had us waiting about 30mins in the lobby with no associate in sight. I chose them bc I went off by the ratings on Expedia. Don’t go by the ratings it’s all a lie. The room was dirty. The bathroom had hair in the toilet and bathroom. Comforters were stained. Carpet was stained. Room smelled like smoke even though it was a non smocking room. The tv did not work. The front desk associate was very kind when we went down to bring this to their attention when we got up. She moved us to another room which was just a tad bit better. The pillow case in that room had make up stains on it. The corner of the room where the tall lamp was located had mildew stained carpet. We slept on top of the covers I’m glad we brought our own blanket. I guess you get what you pay for but dang this place was a dump

The bed sheet was dirty with stains. The first room provided had a strong ammonia smell and the bathroom was very dirty. Informed the front desk and he said it's the cleaning solution and open the door to let the room air out for 5 mins. We opened the room for over 15 mins and the room was still smelling bad. We requested to change to another room. Second room did not smell as bad but the bed sheet and still dirty with stains. We removed the bed sheets and used our sleeping bed instead.

This spot has potential but it’s outdated and a lot of the materials and furniture in the room were severely damaged, had mold, beds were unmade, rust in bridges and microwaves, brown residue in tubs and sinks. no water pressure in shower and extreme water pressure in the sink enough to spray.

$178 for a day & a half stay is a bit much to me. but nonetheless checkin was quick, bed was comfy but the pillow cases when we first came in had little stains on them.

Awful awful awful. I usually don’t write reviews but I need to this time.Reached a little late in the evening. There were no one working in the hotel. Had to go to the adjacent hotel to check in. Same guy was taking care of both hotel. 1st room no lights were working . Called front desk no one picked up. Went back and asked him to change the room. The second room AC wasn’t working. Keep calling the front desk no one picked up. Went to the front desk to change the room for 3rd time. No one was there. Waited half an hour before he cane back. At least 3 more people were waiting for various issues. At last got the 3rd room. The lights and AC was good. But the smoke detector was squeaky all night. Couldn’t sleep at all properly. The whole area was shady. Tons of shady people were roaming around the hotel. Most of the hotel guest looked like they are here for some short of shady business. Bunch of old guys sitting and smoking on their patio. You might mistakenly think it’s an old home. This is the worst hotel I have ever been anywhere in the world. Save your money and pick somewhere else.

When we arrived, we were informed by the front desk that they did not have any two bed rooms available. We were forced to find another hotel.

The hotel staff is exceptional. They may check in smooth and Everlast every time we stay here. My only issue is every time we come here I voice the same concern. They can use new sheets and comforters. The sheets and comforters have holes and burn stains in them and it’s horrible.

Cheap and convenient. Room wasn't as clean as i would prefer, there was previous guest leftovers in the fridge when i arrived. Bathroom didnt appear thoroughly clean: (dust, spotty, stains in tub etc.) Staff were friendly and it was quiet.

The hotel itself was fine. Staff was was fine. The only issue that I had was the cleaning of the room. The towels have black marks on them the sheets stains the pillowcases have black marks on them as if they have been run over by Tires. There was hair in the bathroom when we first arrived that didn’t belong to me or my husband. There was hair all over the bathroom sink all over the shower. There was hair on our bed. There was hair everywhere.

I just loved it private balcony just nut to me plenty of parking and for the price just great.

I stayed here for two nights on a recent road trip. It served its purpose for a reasonable price in a convenient location. I did not encounter some of the issues expressed by others such as safety concern or bugs. It's right next to 95, but I found it fairly quiet even under those circumstances. It takes a LOT for me to complain - and I didn't feel like making a big deal out of it in this instance - but admittedly I was disappointed to find the room was half-cleaned when I stepped into it. The bed was made, but there were clearly used towels and remnants of orange juice and vodka cups sitting on the desk. I threw away the mess and used the available clean towels, but obviously that's not the point. But overall and beyond that, again the stay was fine.

This place is a nasty dump. The room was dirty and had an odor, I ended up buying plug inns so I can stay through the night. The guy at the front desk did not bother getting off the phone when he checked me in, he continue to talk to his Indian friend friend on speaker phone and apparently made a mistake checking me in, because a lady at the front desk called me very late that night demanding that I come to the front desk because she didn't see that I was checked into the room. The front desk also earlier that day denied me a extra set to towels, because I had to use one to clean clear dirt off the bathroom floor, which the maid missed. The room also had peeling paint and mold stains on the ceiling in the bathroom. The place also had a group having a loud party at night which kept me up all night. These people do not need to be running a hotel, this place is an embarrassment to the Red Roof name. Stay away...

Not clean , not safe

The office / reception area was unimpressive and gave an initial bad impression. And the grounds around the place were dirty and cluttered with debris......also a bad first impression.

I will never stay here again. I stayed over night from a house party I was at and didn’t want to drive back home. I was so disgusted with the room, it smelled and especially the bathroom. I didn’t want to shower in it. The hotel looks like it’s for homeless people or people that can’t afford rent and stay here instead. It definitely needs to be revamped completely. I would rather sleep in my car or drive back home.

It’s newly renovated. Dogs are allowed. It’s pleasant and quiet and clean and safe.

The environment and the location

Staff was friendly and made check in/out easy. Room was clean for the most part. There were some hairs on the comforter, but you could tell they were washed. Like they just got stuck in the fibers. The shower did not get hot, but warm enough for a quick shower. The bathroom light never came on. I left it turned on over night thinking it was just delayed (one of those incandescent bulbs) but it never fully lit. I had to shower and use the bathroom with the door open and the light from the entry to have any light in the bathroom.

Getting in and out of the property is strange but I got over that. What I didn’t get over was the disastrous room. It was really dirty. Their housekeeper poured bleach all over the bathroom to give off the impression it got cleaned but it wasn’t clean. The counter was dirty with stuff stuck to it. The towels were dirty and had stains and nappy hairs stuck to them. Things were broken in the room including the TV that had no picture anymore. It had a weird smell. First I was given a key to a room that hadn’t been cleaned yet. The housekeeper doesn’t speak a word of English. Probably a very bad idea because she couldn’t answer our questions and she was frustrated I didn’t speak Spanish like that’s my fault. Had to drag all my things downstairs to change rooms. Dogs barked and l kids were yelling in the hall. People were smoking weed outside their rooms and all the smoke blew into our room. My friend made a joke that the only thing clean in the room they trusted was the unopened package of tissues in the bathroom. It was getting late and we were tired so we just made do otherwise I would’ve left.

Towels were stained. Looked like blood spots on the shower curtain. Fake eyelashes stuck to the floor. Stains on the bed. Disgusting, thank god we just needed a quick nights sleep.

Called to find out the exit number off Hwy 95. They did not know how to give any directions to the location. Check-In was horrible. The man at the front desk was rude and confrontational. The room had not been properly cleaned. The bathroom still had evidence from the last person that stayed. Dirty towels under the sink and hair in the bathtub.
