Staff was nice, but room was old and smelly. You can open the window if you don’t mind being 20 ft away from a passing train. Try to catch a room facing the parking lot!

Rooms were nice and clean. No bugs. Friendly staff. Great breakfast. Nice pool and work out area. I didn't see a hot tub but I see spa and assumed. Nice work out area. It was a great place to stay and right beside king dominion. & if you have afterpay you can make payments on hotel.com

1. Tiles in bathroom were loose with grout popping out and pinched my foot between the tiles. 2. The toilet paper was so cheap and useless I ended up buying our own 3. The light in the bathroom didnt work so I had to shower with the flashlight on the phone 4. The mini fridge needs to be replaced. It gets cold but the freezer portion isn't even there and the can rack is broken so the soda cans fall out of it. 5. They wouldn't provide change for laundry. We even asked 7-11 down the road which would only give $2. Also asked the hotel next door with no luck either. On past stays getting change has never been an issue. Because of this I ended up running out of clean clothes and had to re wear a wet bathing suit and dirty shorts. There needs to be a change machine in the laundry room or update it to accept credit card.

The Bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean and spacious The TV did not work in the bedroom section. When I called the desk, they gave me suggestions to fix the first time. The second time I called, they did offer to move us but after travelling for 10 hours, I did not feel like packing up and moving. The keys were tricky and didn't work like hotel keys normally do. I got in the room fine the first time but second time they did not work so I went back to the desk and the clerk told me the TRICK to making them work. Why not just fix the doors????

Across road from Kings Dominion. Said Suites didn’t have one. We booked from booking.com and when got here we booked two nights only had it in for one. Not sure because I didn’t call hotel directly that another party had to call up and reserve it we didn’t get a suite room.

I have stayed at this property several times in recent travel. This time I had an experience with bugs in the room, not in the bed, but in the room. I am sure its hard with many travelers coming and going in a hotel, this will need to be addressed by the property owner. With that said, the staff and hotel manager were accomodating. I was tired and checked in late, I then found bugs in two of the 3rd floor rooms and had to be moved. The staff was extremely helpful and accomodating. Their quick response was great, and after 3 moves, I was in a first floor room ready for a late night sleep! I will mention, the first floor seemed to not have bug issues, however, I can only think the entire property needs a good extermination protocol to get it back in shape! Additionally, the property is starting to look "run down" it needs some interior updates and upgrades. There are no soap holders in the showers, and no place to hang a single towel in the bathroom. The rooms seem clean to the surface but the carpets need cleaining as well. The Staff were great!

Overall, excellent place to stay. The hotel is starting to showing its age. Was very convenient to Kings Dominion, which is where we were taking our grandchildren for the day. The breakfast could have been better.

Early Check in was a challenge! I called ahead but it seemed to be confusion trying to get into the room. Front desk had to keep physically going to check and we if rooms were ready. Rooms were clean. Ice machine and room phones broken. No issues with Check out. Hotel in a great location

Although they provided breakfast in the morning i wasn't feeling well and my wife went to bring me some back but was told no food taken back to the rooms.

This is a great hotel to stay at for those visiting Kings Dominion. You can literally walk to the park.

The pool was super dirty . You can see the biofilm sitting on top of the water . The water wasn’t even circulating it was like a bath tub filled with water just accumulating. It looked like they just threw chlorine in the pool and called it a day. There was no clean pool towels either especially when we arrived at 3 pm . The elevator floors were dirty. The overall experience wasn’t the greatest at all .

It's a little rundown and overpriced, but it was the best option (an indoor pool was essential) for our trip to Doswell. The breakfast was good with plenty of choices and the pool room was very warm, which I really appreciated. The staff was all very nice. The cookies in the lobby were a nice surprise.

The pool is small, and the towels in the pool area were never stocked. We had to ask for towels all 3 times we used it. Smoke detector was missing with wires hanging. I had to alert staff who didn’t take it as serious as it should be. Eventually someone found me a working smoke detector. The room was clean on the surface but smelled musty. My daughter saw a “large insect” that ran across the bathroom sink. I never saw it, so I can’t say what it might have been. I hope we didn’t bring a cockroach home with us. Not a lot of options so close to our venue, so maybe this was the best. I probably won’t pick this hotel again.

Recommend this hotel for sure. Manager let us use the pool early until room was ready. Pool was warm. Breakfast good. Rooms have high ceilings, clean feel, comfortable beds.

I’ve stayed in this hotel multiple times dating back to December 2018. It was usually the nicest and cleanest hotel in the area. Unfortunately, it seems the hotel received new owners in between this year and my previous stay last year. The cleanliness of the hotel has gone downhill. The rooms were messed up. And I had to contact the front desk because my shower did not have a shower curtain. I will not be staying at this hotel again

This hotel is Conveniently located across the street from Kings Dominion. We drove 3 1/2 hours to go to amusement park and after a long day needed to rest. We drove literally out of the park lot across street to this hotel. The indoor pool added for extra fun for kids. Pool open til11pm and check out at 12 so that helped a lot to. The hotel is clean and served a good breakfast. The beds aren’t the best but everything is clean!

Booked a room with a pullout Sofa, linens were dirty had to get extra from front desk and change them ourselves. Our bathroom backed up to the public restroom and something must have clogged that toilet because it caused our toilet to not flush had to change rooms at 9:30pm and hallways smelled like marijuana. Not a place I will take my family to again.

The hotel wasn’t necessarily as “pictured” the hotel backs against train tracks which can be extremely loud in the middle of the night… they do provide ear plugs and there is a disclaimer at check in but I would’ve rather been made aware at the time of booking. The mattress was very uncomfortable and the vents were dusty. The view of the train tracks from the room was unpleasant with trash and debris everywhere. There was also a loud argument in the hallway around 6am which woke us up. The hotel was very convenient to the park and we were only there to sleep. I can’t say I’d stay again….

The indoor pool although maintenance and appearance can be improved. Very basic. Stayed 3 nights and it was the exact same thing each day. The oranges were spoiled and picked had holes in them.

how close it was to kings dominion, the staff was very nice & accommodating, there is an “inn case store” for some snacks,drinks & medicine if you need it. the pool was very nice & the gym is very clean. everything needs keycards to be opened which makes me feel safe & i love it! breakfast was very good, good selection of foods & drinks & good amount of seating. it advised a spa but we learned they took that out not too long ago. just wish it was updated on websites. the bathroom door didn’t shut/lock, you could just pull it open but not too big of an issue. there was some mold on the bathroom ceiling but that’s probably just from poor circulation.

There was not a lot near it as far as stores,restaurants. The remote to the TV didn't work,we got new batteries still wouldn't work. We were in room 201 right across from the stairs. Kids were constantly going in and out the door slamming it and running up and down the halls. I called downstairs and complained. It still was happening.

Location was great, right across the street from Kings Dominion. Also could walk to a Burger King and 7 eleven. There is a train line directly behind the hotel. When a train comes by it is very loud and also a horn usually goes off. The pool area was also extremely crowded.

Definitely all you can expect for a good price. The breakfast was well stocked with just one woman doing it and keeping up with lots of people eating that morning! Rooms were clean, friendly staff… Would definitely come back here if we are coming back to Kings Dominion.

Breakfast was good until we saw the breakfast attendant sit on a chair , wipe her shoe down then went and wiped a table with the same cloth rag absolutely disgusting! Have to say the gentleman who ran the front desk was very nice he came and fixed our tv that wasn’t working it only took over an hour. I guess for the convenience of being across the street from kings dominion it was good!

Many issues with the TV service which makes a hotel stay rather difficult.

The front desk staff was not very happy. We booked two rooms and had to go back twice since we were told that rooms were connected but they didn’t offer this type of room. Breakfast was the basic contentinal breakfast. It was very close to Kings Dominion which was nice.

We stayed 2 nights while going to King’s Dominion. Unpin arrival, the toilet in our room was blocked up. I had to call the front desk 3 times (hours apart) to get a plunger. One of the keys to our room didn’t work both nights despite being re-scanned a few times. Breakfast area is very small and was extremely crowded each morning. This hotel was fine for what we needed, but I would not have an extended stay here.

The coffee pot didn’t work. Drawers and doors didn’t close. Room keys were hard to use.

Shower didn't drain right but otherwise no problems. Everything was clean enough and the desk staff was helpful and friendly.

The room wasn't clean at all and had a horrible smell. I never even stayed here and asked for a refund as I was leaving and they said despite the fact that the room was so dirty. They even had an unclean hallway. The bathtub had brownish stains on it and the drawers in the dresser wouldn't close were wide open. The refrigerator was gross and was wide open when I walked in and had an awful smell to it. 0/10 experience.

Despite asking whether any alternative breakfast could be provided, none was made available, and we ultimately could not participate in breakfast at all. • The room cleanliness and overall hygiene standards were below expectations, and the furniture appeared very dated. • Additionally, the train tracks located directly behind the hotel created excessive noise throughout the night. This was not disclosed in advance, and the noise level made it extremely difficult for us to sleep. As a result, we were unable to rest properly, did not receive the full breakfast service, and could not use the pool facilities we had planned to enjoy. Overall, the stay fell far short of what was advertised and expected. Therefore , I would appreciate hotel’s/ or yoour compensation

The property as a whole is mot maintained. Pool room floor looked like it had never been cleaned. The room had mold and furniture that was falling apart. The bed slept horribly. Could walk when I got up. The covers wouldn’t stay on the beds and the dust ruffle was visibly soiled. More could be said. This hotel was disappointing .

No breakfast available at 8:30 am Monday morning-was all gone (eggs and sausage) and counters were pretty dirty from other guests. This has always been my favorite place to stay each month I come to Virginia but things seem to be slipping. The coffee is almost water and has been this way for months.

She, and the free breakfast, is the only thing that place has going for itself.

I looked at 6 rooms before finding one that was the least moldy and musty smelling. Noisy with traffic and the nearby trains. Furniture was dirty and room not every clean.

The first issue when I got to the hotel was that Expedia had not forwarded my reservation to the hotel. I booked it approximately 3 PM the day of and I got to the hotel at 10:30 PM and they had no record of my paid reservation. The manager on duty overnight was great and he knew how to look it up and input it into his system and he upgraded me to a suite for the inconvenience however, the housekeeping service services for this suite weren’t the best as there was a garbage can still full of garbage so he immediately moved me to a different room. Now I know why there are earplugs in all the rooms, the room was very noisy as it faced the parking lot the breakfast buffet this morning was typical of a hotel and I did have a waffle and sausages, which were good. For the price I would go back and just request a room, not facing the parking lot.

That was one reason i chose this hotel for my daughter's Kings dominion birthday with friends, so our first half day there was just spent watching movies and vegging. Mold problem in rooms. The air conditioner intake outside is covered with mold and moss. The smell and spores is pulled in through the vents and the coils inside are coated. They wipe the machines front off, but you can see and smell it. The windows curtain bottoms are even stained with mold. There were white liquid stains along the bottom of the brown bed skirt closest to the window. The breakfast was little better than continental. Both days of our stay we had the same problems. the microwave scambled eggs were over salted and the syrup was always empty. No regular tea either, just decaf. I honestly would appreciate a refund if able. Terrible service and had to wait at the front desk for over 30 minute. The tv didn’t work in our room nor did the phone. We also were told it was a heated pool but it wasn’t. The room wasn’t cleaned and still had old dirty towels in the room.

Ck in was pleasant and efficient although ridged on timimg. No attendant in breakfast. Gnats in bread cabinet. Rooms were fairly clean but could use some attention in grout areas and ceilings dirty.

This property was great! It was within walking distance of Kings Dominion and the service was amazing!

My son and I woke up with several bites from bed bugs.

It would have been alot better if it wouldn’t for the family above our room. There kids was stomping and really loud.

It is good enough and affordable, especially if you are wanting to walk to King’s Dominion the days you are there.

The carpets in the hallway need to be cleaned as there are spots of filth everywhere. Otherwise clean rooms, the mattress was stained and the bottom sheet would not stay on. Otherwise the room was okay.

The room and bathroom showed definite signs of age but was clean and quiet. Hallway had a smell similar to mildew.

Traveled to the Kings Dominion theme park with the entire family plus Mom and we had a great time. The hotel was exactly what was advertised and what was needed for the adults and the kids alike. would definitely book again in the future.

The room was good size, but hotel was dirty and unkept. The hallway had trash on the carpet. The elevator smelled and did not look clean and overall condition was very disappointing.

The property needs some major clean-up. Every corner of the bathroom has at least a little mold, and the hallways and rooms smell of it. The pool area was fine, but also could use some care and maintenance. The staff was kind, but the facility needs much repair.

Being located across the street from Kings Dominion was convenient. The room was a place to sleep. It smelled sweaty and musty. A lot of noise from rooms above and across the hall. Free breakfast was great and always stocked and clean. I would pass on the pool. Didnt look very clean and greenish.

Hotel was more like a motel. It immediately smelled like chlorine upon check in. Once we got to the second floor it smelled like straight weed on the whole second floor. People were noisy and the loud train was literally outside our window all night going by a couple times. Train track is outside the window right behind the hotel. Breakfast not bad and water pressure was good. Toilet seat top was broken and room was very muggy even with the AC on 65 degrees! Not the worst but could have been better. Likely will not stay here again.

Well me stay here was very pleasant and convenient! Me and my friend planned a 2 day trip to Kings Dominion, and booked here for a few days to have some place to rest, its super close to the park which makes it better, my friend ultilized the gym mainly, and we had fun in the pool, it was super refreshing after a hot and humid day at the park, also the place was super tidy and staff was attentive to help and very nice, the breakfast there was also dslicious and its super easy to use their laundry machines, this is the place to stay! I'll be booking here again if i want to do another 2-3 day trip at Kings Dominion!

The hotel is very outdated, no upgrades anywhere in sight.The carpets gives off an old moldy smell. Some of the sockets in the room were uncovered. The tv's, does not work, the bathroom has all kind of rust in the tub floors and sink. The breakfast was the best part, fresh apples juice and coffee.

The property was out dated, not clean and had terrible odor in the hallway. Freight Train runs directly in the back. Hotel supplied ear plugs for the guest!!! I would never stay here and would not advise anyone else to stay!!!!

Our beds were rock solid, and the pillows went flat as soon as your head hit them. As soon as we got off the elevator to the second floor where our room was, the whole hallway smelled like weed, and so did our room. When I went to the front desk, all I got was a can of air freshener and was told, “good luck, I can’t do anything unless you know who it is.” Horrible service, will not be staying here ever again!

Our stay was just okay. There was a weird smell. There were many times where the front desk was unattended. There were times I needed towels and clothes, but took a long to time to obtain.

Checked in to my room around 3:30pm, when I went to my room the door was open, beds were stripped and the trash can was full. Went to the front desk she told me "No, it's ready" and when I kept telling her what it was like she finally went and looked. I was given another room but the room was like an oven. I turned the air on and went out for a few hours only to come back to an oven. Went back down to the front desk only to be told they were sold out. I could have a refund but what good would that do I needed a place to sleep. Never even offered the maintenance man. The air did finally start working around 3am after I had to kick it multiple times.

Thank God I was only here for one night. The bed was terrible. Breakfast was good, but I didn't like that I couldn't take anything back to my room for my son. What teenager do you know wants to get up before 9:30 in the morning?

Tv didn’t work. None of the lights were plugged in. The shower drain was clogged and the caulking in the bathroom was moldy.

We had to change room twice because the first one had a sagging bed and the other one had a foul odor coming from the mattress. The employees were kind enough to change it for us. The rooms had a wierd humidity odor too. The general cleanliness of the rooms for a hotel chain is not what you’d expect. The complimentary breakfast was good and had lots of choice. The cleanliness was good for that part. We didn’t use any of the other facilities in the hotel. The hotel is located right beside a train track so when the train goes buy it’s hard not to notice since the room shakes and it makes a lot of noise. The hotel gives you complimentary ear plugs in the room as you arrive. We wouldn’t be staying at that hotel again.

Minor negatives: We had 2 separate people knock on our door looking for another group of guests. It was evident that another guest had their room number confused and was giving the wrong information out. Nothing the hotel staff can do about that so I do not blame them. Additionally, the bathroom could use some minor updates. The faucet water pressure was incredibly powerful. Anything more than a trickle and it would spray all over the counter.

As you enter the room, it smells like cigarettes the room has not been disinfected the carpet was smelling like mold The bathrooms was dirty and the cork job was atrocious. They've had smokers in there but they forgot to shampoo the carpet and clean the walls. The hallway for the hotel was in need of repairs. The walls had stuff written on it and the carpet had a lot of stains including food and other items. During breakfast there was a lady who worked there who was always watching us as we were eating. she kept saying that should nobody should take a food in their room even though I had a daughter who was not feeling well and she couldn't make it downstairs to eat. Overall it was probably one of the worst gated hotels I've been in it was not worth the price we paid and it was probably worth $45 a nights hotel. I will not be going there again

I did not like how run down and lacking the room was-bathroom tiles were loose, shower was stained, no hair dryer, no ice maker, no cookies (part of the charm of the brand).

The back of the hotel orders along the train track. We had trains at 11:30 PM, midnight, and 8 AM. They provide you however, so they are aware of the issue. But it’s not like you can book the hotel or the train so they’re making lemonade with the lemons they were given.

Kitchen staff for the continental breakfast was above and beyond nice, accommadating, all the above.

Beware that the hotel is right on train tracks. We found this both charming (fun to watch) and a little surprising (loud when it came through, obviously.) The pool was small but worked just fine for a short stay. No early check-in allowed unless you pay a fee. Parking was easy. Convenience to King's Dominion - could not be better.

Oh my lord never again we will stay in this hotel. First of all the hotel was booked the same day for 1 night and there were no warning on the page regarding the water issues. The room were not clean we had to switch rooms and the second one was gross. We were so tired from driving 11 hours that I couldn't look for another hotel to stay overnight we had 5 more hour drive next day. The positive is i didn't find any bedbugs thank God.

Very disappointed when after we checked in the fridge was completely full of the previous persons food. The vent in the room was also falling out of the ceiling in the bathroom. There was no staff to alert about this when checking out or I would have.

Hotel smell musty and old, Biggest complaint after getting in from a long trip and a long day at Kingsdominion I was exhausted. Woke up from a nap and move my second pillo.w and there Blood on it either from a previous guest or a Bed Bug!!!! Yes Bed Bug!!! I took down to the associate athe desk and he acted like he had no care in the work and asked me to do i want sheets to change my bed... my gosh I took him a pillow case and gave me a pillow case and no new pillow.. I was up most of the night and left early in the moring before breakfast. I want an entire REFUND..NEVER AGAIN WILL I STAY HERE.

Hotel condition was bad. There was a wet smell throughout the whole hotel. The toilet backed up and instead of them sending someone up to fix it they sent a plunger for me to plunge the toilet myself. The pool had a green ring around it. This was the worst hotel i have stayed in!!

This place really convenient for our trip to Kings Dominion. Everything was great besides two things. The mattresses in the room that we stayed sunk in a little bit and need to be replaced. The hotel advertises that breakfast is open until 9:30 however we showed up at 9:00 with a sign saying breakfast is closed there were still some items but the person cooking said there would be no more sausage and that breakfast has been open since 6:30! On top of that she was rude to my wife which did not make me happy! I called the front desk in let them know about the situation and she did go to the breakfast area and speak with the kitchen worker and had her cook more sausage but we never should have had to do all this lol! If you say breakfast is up until 9:30 serve breakfast until 9:30.

Service was great and easy walk to Kings Dominion. Good breakfast. The downside was poor water functions…the toilet didn’t flush all waste on first try and the tub took 15 min to drain after shower. The pillows were lumpy and there was a certain unclean smell in the room.

The bed was bad, it killed our backs. One of the beds had a hole in it, so you sank down when getting into bed. The key cards kept going out, we had to have them rescanned multiple times. The breakfast was good. We asked for one of our rooms to be cleaned and they told us no. Rat traps in both of our rooms. Indoor pool if you use it.

Mold around tub, peeling pain through out room, lumpy beds. When booking property I was told that I could pay at check in. I was called at noon saying that I needed to pay over the phone. Felt like a scam. Called the property back to assure they were the ones who actually called me.

We only stayed for a night. The beds were fine, but thats about it. We were unable to use the shower as it was filthy. It was covered in a brown substance and hair. The toilet barely flushed. When we arrived we were told breakfast was 630-1130am. We were hoping to grab a quick bute before leaving, but when we left a little after 7am there was a sign saying breakfast closed.

The hotel was not the cleanest place I’ve stayed (dirt and dust in the corners, smudged mirrors) and it was noisy. People going down the hall or walking above us seemed very loud. Also, there’s a very active railroad directly behind the hotel and the train going by is super noisy, especially in middle of the night. The hotel provided ear plugs in the room. Also, no plugs or phone charging spots by the beds, only on the other side of the room at the desk. On a positive note, the staff was friendly, breakfast was good (my 9 year old is a big fan of the make your own waffle station). The biggest positive for us is the convenient location to King’s Dominion, being right across the street.
