Clean room great space nice accommodation staff was great.

Room was fine. Floor in common spaces needed cleaning. Elevator floor and walls were noticeably dirty. Room had a musty smell and fan in bathroom did not work. Breakfast was mediocre. We asked if there was milk for the cereal and were given a partially frozen gallon of milk to use. It was not appealing. Proximity to Kings Dominion is as good as you can get. It is right across the street. There were railroad tracks behind the room but we did not hear any trains. Could be because we ran the air conditioning fan.

Overall great place to stay. Nice rooms, clean, great breakfast, pool was good, comfortable beds. Bathroom showers were clearly renovated and the new showers are sub par... Faucet and handle were floating in the walls, not attached at all. Water sprayed everywhere onto the floor because the curtain rods were installed too high. The arch of the flow of water out of the sink faucet was the same way, too strong and would go past the sink onto the counter/floor. A/c unit was also very old and dirty.

There were some not so nice odors in the hallways, room smelled mildewy.

Easy to get to. Great location to Kings Dominion. Decent selection for breakfast. Nice pool area. Comfortable beds. Surface level clean. Air conditioner leaked continuously and soaked the carpet. Didn’t seem clean on a deeper level. Train tracks right beside property that was very loud.

The place was amazing and the staff were beyond helpful and we're understanding... its just the beds was so uncomfortable I couldnt get an once of sleep the entire time. Other then that it was a great place to stay at.

Great place to stay right across the street from Kings Dominion. Although you can take a short walk to Kings Dominion it’s not recommended as you would have to cross a very busy major highway. Not the hotels fault but disappointed there weren’t more stores and restaurants close by. Great breakfasts! Loved hearing the trains passing by. Would stay there again.

Called before I booked to make sure the pool was open and was told it was open. However, when I got there the pool was closed and stayed closed the whole stay the main reason we booked here was for the pool. Breakfast wasn't good, the milk im pretty sure was spoiled. Couldn't connect tv to internet to watch Netflix. Only had maybe 10 channels on TV to watch. It wasn't worth the price I had to pay. The in laws stayed at another hotel near by and it was cheaper and honestly was a better hotel.

Location is great if you’re going to Kings dominion. Otherwise there isn’t much there. Hotel itself was good for 2 star hotel. The smell was difficult to deal with. Everything smelled musty and stale. We only stayed one night so it was somewhat tolerable. I don’t know if there would be better options. Everything looked about the same quality. We did feel safe and that’s important.

The overall hotel is clean and located in a good area that is right across the road from Kings Dominion. The staff were all very helpful and the breakfast was good.

The room was clean, and the staff were friendly, professional, and helpful. One of the biggest positives was the pricing. The rate was very reasonable, and I appreciated the value for the money. The only issue that I ran into, but it wasn't the fault of the hotel was more of the fault of the person staying above me, is that either of them or their kids were making a lot of noise running through the room above me and I called the front desk and they immediately took care of it so I'm very appreciative of that. I would likely stay here again because of the excellent pricing and great staff. Overall, it was a clean, affordable hotel with friendly service and good value for the price.

This hotel was not very clean.

It was an excellent price. The hotel was in a great location. Next to a 711! And across the street from my destination. I just wish I knew that there was an active train track running right behind the hotel. Constantly. I couldn’t get to sleep and stay asleep. There was also a very weird smell in the elevator that made it hard to ride in there. I’m not sure if it was something to cover up pet urine but it didn’t smell clean. There was also a burning smell in the hallway. But mainly the train.

Very little communication about when you were gonna change the sheets or if you were gonna change out the towels or any communication at the desk with if you need new towels, just give us a call, a little note or tent on the door would be great.

Next to freight rail and very loud at early hours of the morning. Terrible! Was charged $25 for “early check in”. Condescending front desk employee at check in educating me on “normal hotel industry fees”. How dare she!

my boyfriend and i booked this hotel for two nights for our weekend trip to kings dominion. i honestly can't recommend this hotel enough! of course the location is great for our purposes, but overall it was a great experience. the room was nice and clean, the staff was super helpful (we didn't get there until after 11 and were able to check in no problem), and check out was super easy too. espcially for the low price, i'd stay here again in a heartbeat!

Excellent value for the money! Very clean and modern rooms and public areas! Breakfast better than a lot of hotels in this price range, except the coffee. Coffee was too weak, but maybe someone unfamiliar with making the coffee did it that day?! Anyway, this was an above average in bed comfort, modern decor and breakfast (minus the coffee!) However there is a gas/convenient store right next door, I got my coffee there and it was great!

We had checked into our room and unpacked only to discover within a few hours that the heat wasn’t working. It was a cold evening so we had to repack everything and move to the room next door. We had a lot of stuff with us plus our cat and it was a pain in the neck. We were exhausted from driving 9 hours that day. I asked the staff member in the morning at the desk for a discount for our trouble and/or a senior discount, and she basically looked at me like I was being funny. Well, it wasn’t funny and she should’ve given us some kind of discount or talked to the manager. I would still like to be contacted to receive a partial refund.

The problem was that it was full of kids. There's a waterpark across the road, but I'm not sure if in late March they were there to play, and could be athletic teams, I don't know. I'm not sure why hotels put older guests (we're 63 and 60) on the same floor, but this hotel did. We listened to loud conversations, running in the hallways, and slamming doors until around midnight. We prefer not to complain, so we didn't engage or call management. Thankfully, the noise was brief, and we were able to sleep. The price was right and affordable. BONUS: The Mexican restaurant near the hotel is amazing. Their white-sauce nachos were excellent.

The beds were comfortable, the front desk well run. One of the towels in my room was dirty, breakfast was good except there was no decaffeinated coffee. The hotel was a good value and met our needs.

Did not expect this for the price we paid though we did choose the place based on reviews. We were not disappointed! The staff was friendly and the room and breakfast were top notch for this price class. The bathroom was newly redone and even included artwork. Very clean and tasteful decor. Breakfast was more than ample. We have made numerous trips up and down the I95 from NY to Florida and this will be our new "go to" place. No more winging it. Great stay!

The room had a fridge and microwave, and everything was spotless. There was always coffee available in the lobby, and the breakfast buffet was more than we expected: eggs, sausage, fresh waffles, yogurt, cereal, bagels, muffins, juices, coffee and tea. The staff were all friendly and helpful. We will definately stay here again. Highly recommend.

Hotel was fine. My only issue was the pet fee. At booking the fee stated $10 per cat and when I arrived they attempted to charge $20+ and seemed confused. There appears to be miscommunication between Expedia and the hotel. Also, the hotel only had one night booked when I specifically booked two.

The property was good BUT the heat unit in the room did not set at temperature. Needed repairs. Breakfast was good but a juice option - not flavored water , would be better. Otherwise, a good choice....very few guests so no knowledge of how would be in season.

Slow time of year, but the hotel was in great shape, staff friendly, and for the time of year it’s hard to manage breakfast, but they did a terrific job. Hotels are all near the railroad tracks, but we weren’t bothered by it during the night.

The hotel has been fully renovated and the decor is perfect. Only one complaint: the AC is noisy.

Room walls and bathroom walls were disgusting. You could clearly see after your shower where they wiped the mirror and where they missed (center was cleaned only). A/C, Heat unit is broken RM207. It was extremely hot in the room even after changing the Temp to Cool and 64. The exhaust fan is also broken and obnoxiously loud in the bathroom. If we return to that area we will look for a Holiday Inn over a Best Western.

Check in was super easy and the staff was exceptional! The room was very clean and the bed was super comfy! Got really good sleep and the breakfast was great! I would definitely stay again if I’m in the area!

The floor had not been vacuumed as I found a hair tie on it. I got in bed to find something wet on the back of my leg. I got up and leaned down to sniff the wet spot and it reeked of pee. Thankfully it was a double room so I just got into the other bed after an unexpected shower. I didn’t call the desk as I was already in my nightgown ready for bed and needed to get sleep for the next day. I finally lay my head back down to rest and hear the blaring horn of a train whistle then moments later a huge crash. It sounded like the train had derailed it was so loud. Needless to say I overslept in the morning from being up late. I would love a refund though I’m sure I won’t get it. Also, the next morning I went to get a drink from the machine and it was unplugged.

Highly recommend this hotel!

My only complaint would be sound. Walls were thin as was ceiling. I heard all neighbors. Perhaps spread out guests more if not too busy? (not your fault- building is a bit dated)

Unfortunately, my room was right next to the ice machine and laundry room. So when the employee started washing sheets with door open at 7am, I couldn’t sleep anymore due to the laundry machine noise. Breakfast was average, same as every other hotel. The room was not dirty but not the cleanest. AC unit was dirty.

This is a disgusting hotel. Never will I stay here again. Stains all over carpet floors and bedding. All the lights in the hall way was poor. Couldn’t see anything, very sketchy. Staff was very rude to us when we had late check in and then again when leaving. Breakfast was all cold. Plain run down hotel. Do not pay attention to the stars.

The new way of doing things in hotels, tell the front staff in the morning to service your room. The problem with not having your room serviced every day automatically, is lack of towels/wash clothes when needed. That is my only complaint.…. They didn't have wash clothes when needed because they were in the washer at 9p.m.

Very nice rooms - recently upgraded it looks. Awesome to be right in front of Kings Dominion. Breakfast was good, but I wish you’d be allowed to bring it to your room (I had work to finish before going to the park). I would definitely stay again!

The bed was very comfortable and I appreciated the carpeting. I was surprised when I went down for their breakfast and saw signs that the breakfast was only available for “dine-in” and not to take items to the room. New one for me, especially since the rooms have a refrigerator and microwave. The AC was noisy and positioned right by the desk which made finding the precise settings while working a challenge. The light/fan in the bathroom was crazy loud. I appreciated the newer bathroom finishes.

Hard bed, hard pillows. Dirty and scratchy towels. Beautifully renovated but dirt and grime everywhere.

The bathroom needs updated / renovated big time. The drain did not drain the water fast enough, tub and sink were really showing their age. Also, TV picture was very blurry. Outside the room also needs updated big time. At least one side or rear door was closed with a shovel from the outside, which could have easily been removed by a non-guest, wanting to gain inside access to the property. The breakfast consisted of four small white powdered donuts, coffee, but no real cream, waffle mix, but no syrup or butter, and a few bagels, but no cream cheese or butter. Needless to say, I passed. Pay the extra $10 - $15 per night -- it will be worth it for just the breakfast alone.

5 min from Kings Dominion. So convenient to park, gas and food. The room was good, but o did find someone’s dock on the floor and some hairs in the bathroom. I come with cleaning supplies anyway no matter where I stay.

Beds not comfortable, terrible smell through hotel from lobby, elevators, stairs and room; maybe the carpet? Idk but not pleasant. Bathroom fixtures were not secured, faucet was all over the place and the toilet paper roll could barely hold itself up, it wasnt holding TP. There was a biker group staying there at the same time we were. Large group of large men stayed swarmed outside the front door congregating. Bikes were revved at all hours of the night right outside the front door where they also parked. The staff did nothing. But I cant blame them, there was no security and small petite ladies manning the desk alone each night. How are they going to confront them? I doubt anyone had sleep while they were there. Will not stay there again.

Staff was awesome. They worked with me after i made a mistake and booked the wrong night!!! So appricated them for that, after all it was my mistake!. Breakfast was good. Great options. Eggs were delicious! Cook does a wonderful job. Would i stay here Gain? Um maybe... i would look Roubd for options for sure.

From the start, there were issues with my reservation. I had called ahead to add my children to the booking, and the person I spoke with assured me it wouldn't be a problem and there would be no extra charge. However, upon check-in, I was surprised to be hit with an additional $20 fee for them. This lack of communication and the unexpected charge was a frustrating start to our trip. The problems continued inside the room. The air conditioning unit was incredibly loud, making it difficult to sleep or even have a conversation. The constant noise was compounded by what sounded like people running either in the halls or in the room above us, adding to the disruptive environment. The Internet service was consistently poor, making it nearly impossible to do anything online. The television was also a constant source of frustration, as the signal kept cutting out and the picture would "cliche," making it unwatchable. To top it off, the bed was far from comfortable, leading to a restless night's sleep. Throughout our stay, getting fresh towels was a constant hassle. By mistake we booked the wrong date, and they told us to cancel to make another one and we did it for a higher price, but they didn't give me my money back even though I cancelled a week before,

We had to wait for rooms to finish being cleaned and when we got into the room the bedding was stai ed and dirty. Also the rug were wet not damp but wet.

Stopped there for one night during a road trip. Comfortable beds. Location- it’s right across the street from six flags, we had to drive to get dinner, but easy to do as it’s right off the Highway. I think there is a Burger King and a 7/11 next to the hotel. Easy parking.

Stayed 2 nights.The service from reception was very bland, no smiles or personality. As far as the stay, it was good. The rooms were nice & were clean. But when we asked for towels & wash cloths the next day, we were told they didn't have any clean, again not very friendly. This happened twice. Also recommendations for bathroom....shower needs a "slip" bar & the toilet seats replaced, they were very thin. Wasn't comfortable to sit on.

The hotel itself is clean and well maintained. Staff was very nice. The only reason I can’t give this 5 stars is because the second floor hallway smelled so strongly of cat urine. I understand it is a hard smell to get rid of, but it was awful. They accept pets so I guess someone didn’t know how to care for their cat during their stay. The 7-11 at the top of the road has very sketchy folks around. Felt safe on the property itself.

Kings dominion is the next road over so it's good and close, still it's crossing a highway so go ahead and drive over. Beds comfy, even more so after closing down KD!

Room reserved was not ready 30 minutes after check in. We accepted another room. The toilet seat was broken. Elevator floor was filthy. Breakfast was good and dining hall was clean. Overall very disappointed.

The staff were nice and helpful. The hotel has paper-like walls. It was very loud and noisey. I literally got no sleep. There is a convenient 7-11 close by walking distance (next door to hotel). I would definitely not recommend eating at the burger king across the street. The food was horrible, staff were fighting with customers etc. There are no nearby restaurants or diners. If in the area again, I will definitely be looking somewhere else to stay!

Water in the township and hotels and restaurants were shut off in the middle of the night due to a water main break. They assured us it would be back on in a hour or two and it was. Hotel did not notify us that the water was then… on a do not drink or take showers notice until after we took showers, brushed our teeth AND ate at the hotel breakfast bar that morning. We had about 5 rooms. Thank God my family didn’t get sick. They didn’t post any signs right away or offer any refunds until many of the guests started becoming a little unruly in the lobby. The refunded us for 1 night and we left. Hotel was clean and I would book there again to visit the park. They just didn’t have a front desk person or staff ready to handle such an emergency.

Didnt care for location of room. Noisy from train ; i was on side of building which obviously homeless live. Lots of trash. They should put up privacy fence along the back.

Rooms were not completely clean, and multiple amenities were not working. When we informed the staff that they weren’t working they just said ok. Breakfast was a mess and a worker even yelled at guests who were eating that they needed to make room for others.

But absolutely ridiculous that I was denied a refund for second night due to family emergency that caused me to cut my trip short a day early. The last thing I want to deal with when I have to go deal with that is a staff refusing to help me out. Absolutely ridiculous

Was a fine place to stay for a night.

Bed and pillows were comfortable. There is one single elevator for the property that wasn’t working for a short period during our stay. Thankfully the hotel is only 3 stories and we were able to take the stairs. Room was clean upon check in. We stayed for 2 nights but no one emptied trash during our stay. It appeared to be an issue for everyone on our floor as many people were setting they’re trash bags outside their rooms on our floor.

Alright, this hotel wasn't clear of a share of issues. Starting with the room, every time I opened the door to get inside, my nose was hit with an odor that smelled like cat piss, or meth, marijuana.......and it made me very uncomfortable. The interior of the hotel was small, lobby was narrow, and the hallways were poorly lit. Another thing that made my stay poor is the hallway that my room was on--there were a bunch of children that kept stomping around, running down the halls, slamming doors and someone bumped into the one of the room I was in-while I was trying to rest and eat dinner. I waited for the sound to die down-and it never did. A teenage girl and her siblings were talking very loudly outside my room, and I asked them to please be quiet. The response from the girl was a foolish and sarcastic "I'm waiting for someone", instead of "oh, excuse me. I apologize for making noise-I'll take it somewhere else, I'm sorry." This would've been a better response-yet that wasn't the outcome and I went back into room feeling stupid and like my privacy was invaded. The last day I asked for my room to be cleaned (which it was), yet I opened the door when I returned and the same odor hit my nose (was worse), and almost made me vomit. Now, a positive to this hotel is it was close to a park I was visiting. In summary-this is a hotel I never want to stay at again!!

Clean, affordable and walkable to Kings Dominion

Breakfast was excellent.

The bathroom had hair all over it and had clearly not been cleaned. None of the carpet looked vacuumed anywhere in the hotel.

The nice things I can say is the hotel it self seemed clean and the staff working the breakfast service was a very nice lady.

It was nice. Would be great if you are going to the theme park. Very limited dining options.

Original room was loud, felt unsafe and filthy. I had my dog with me and there was a pill on the floor behind one of the beds. Phone had something sticky on it. Door did not seal and the room was so loud. New room was better but still not great. Breakfast was a typical hotel breakfast. Won’t stay at this hotel again but the receptionist was beyond sweet and helpful!

Stayed there while visiting Kings Dominion, would stay there again, would just ask for.a room towards the feont.of the building, further away from the noise of the trains..

Hotel was nice. Bed was a little uncomfortable. I checked in at night and staff treated me like i was borhering them. My room really had a strong smell of indian food.

Very clean and modern!

Great location across from Kings Dominion. Room was recently renovated and clean with a comfy bed. Relatively quiet during our stay and the staff was very friendly. Only negative was that the AC unit in our room was on when we arrived and leaking heavily, so the carpet in that area was very wet. We ended up keeping the unit off during our stay so it didn’t bother us but could lead to some issues with mould if not properly addressed. Good experience overall especially for the price so would stay here again next time in we’re in the area.

The hotel is very convenient located right of if Rt 95. Easy to find. Comfortable hotel.

Breakfast was nice. Room was just ok. The water pressure was terrible. The place was clean and right off the highway, so that’s a plus.

Paid in advance on Expedia for a pet friendly hotel. Was charged an additional $20 per night when I arrived with my dog. This hotel is literally less than thirty feet from a very active train track with trains running through all night long. My room was also across from the hotel’s laundry machines which were loud and also seemed to run all night. The breakfast was minimal at best.

We are traveling to FL. It was convenient and safe. The room was nice and the bed was amazingly comfortable. The price was excellent! The breakfast was fresh and hot!

Only thing that wasn't the best was the toilet's ability to flush everything in one flush, and the shower's water pressure. Otherwise, it is in a great spot, right across the road from King's Dominion; and a short 15-20min drive from good dining in Ashland. I would recommend.
