Lack of cleanliness: The room was not properly cleaned. I found trash on the bed and overall cleanliness did not meet basic standards. Bathroom hygiene and drainage problems: The bathroom was clogged and full of mosquitoes. In addition, the shower was also clogged, which made it difficult to use. Smoke exposure: People smoked outside my room (including cigarettes and other smoke). As a result, the room became filled with smoke during the first night, creating an unpleasant and unhealthy environment. Unresolved issues after relocation: The next day, I was moved to another room; however, it was still not completely clean, so the problems were not fully resolved.

Booked my room months in advance and traveled by car with my wife from California, just to arrive and find that my reservation for 1 King Bed was replaced with 2 Double Beds because they "overbooked" themselves. Refused to even give me a partial refund or anything for their error. I can only imagine that some random person who booked at the last minute got my room while I (who prepared well in advance) got screwed over. Never stay here if you want to actually get what you pay for. A complete scam. Worst hotel I've ever been to. Also, right after writing this, I found out the bathroom door doesn't even close. They clearly replaced it with one too large for the frame...

If you stay on the 3rd floor in the right room , the view of the city lights are fantastic. The room is spacious and clean. It is really old building and the elevator is as old as the building, however it worked just fine. When you check in the lobby is not attractive. And old building always have a certain smell to it but it was clean and the staff was very nice.

Staff were so so nice. But the place was incredibly run down. The bathroom door had a hole in it and was being held together with screws and glue. And the bathroom light had toilet paper in it for some reason. The counter had a marker stain. The shower curtain had some sort of a pink stain. It just did not feel well maintained or very clean. The continental breakfast was minimal. It was a great price though! But I can see why it was so affordable.

The guy at the front desk was SO nice and the walk to the Empower Field stadium was convenient. Those are the only good things about this place. The first room we were assigned was very dirty and stinky, I’m honestly not sure it had been cleaned. I felt dirty just even walking into the room. We requested another room and the second one seemed better, at first. There were holes cut into the tile in the bathroom I’m assuming for some type of ventilation? While in the shower my husband was looking in the top corner and noticed the inches of dust that hadn’t been cleaned as well as a syringe with something in it (blood and dark) There was no toilet paper holder or garbage can in the bathroom. We were going to talk to the front desk about it but there was about 15 people waiting, and after how long we waited to check in originally, I didn’t want to sit and wait even longer. I would not recommend this place at all. The pictures of the rooms were definitely not the same rooms we had gotten after checking in.

The checkin was a mess. Only 2 people working the desk for a concert night so checkin line was out the door and then some. Some rooms were double booked, rooms were limited because rooms weren't clean yet at 4pm, keys didn't work. Took over an hour and a half just to get checked in then a room. At breakfast all there was was a few pastries that seems to come from a gas station and orange juice. That is all that was available. I felt bad for the desk staff at check in they seemed overwhelmed and frustrated. None of the other staff appeared to be working. That property has potential but is in bad shape. Was close to Empower field easy safe walk for the concert and room was clean. Worked enough but wouldn't recommend.

We liked almost nothing about the property except for the location and the staff It was the dirtiest and most uncomfortable hotel my wife and I have ever stayed at. The rooms were not ready at check in and when we finally did get checked in we wondered if they had been cleaned at all. There was a dried up tobacco chew pouch on the night stand, the bed was broken, AC was basically non existent, the room was hardwood but not swept or mopped (my feet were immediately black with dirt after showering), keycards didn’t work and took 3 different trips to the front desk, the phone was broken so the front desk couldn’t hear us when we tried to call, towels were extremely threadbare and dingy, there was a hole in the bathroom floor and masking tape over another hole in the wall beneath the bed. There are probably even more things that I’ve forgotten, but I’ll just end saying this hotel put a serious downer on what was supposed to be a fun weekend getaway for my wife’s birthday. We only stayed here because the other hotels were booked up because of a big event close by. We will never stay here again.

Hotel needs to be updated, front desk was ok but it would be nice if they told customers that breakfast is only available till 8:30, when I checked in I was told breakfast was available from 6 to 9, we went to get breakfast at 8:40 and most of the very little things they offer for breakfast were already put away, when I asked for milk I was told that breakfast was over and the girl in charge gave me and another guy attitude saying the breakfast hours had been changed, she ended giving us milk and had an attitude because she had to give the other guy orange juice. They only offer cereal, pastries, coffee and juice for breakfast and is not like they have to put away a lot of stuff so it would be nice if they hotel gives customers the correct hours and they wait to put everything away until is actual time, not a lot of people wake up at 6 to eat breakfast on a Sunday. There is a lot of either homeless people around that made us scared at times. The elevator is old and dirty. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Staff was friendly and helpful but that was it. Poorly maintained building, very obviously only attracts a certain type of people. Hotel receptionist seemed almost surprised when checking me into my room and upon walking in, immediately I could see why. Our suite looked and felt as though no one had been in it in years, despite stains on the “freshly washed” towels and sheets. Shower only had scalding hot water and we could hear our neighbors activity throughout our stay. Needless to say this was the most unsafe stay I’ve ever had

For the price and location, this hotel honestly wasn’t terrible. The downtown view was beutiful, free parking was a huge plus, and it was in a convenient area. That said, it definitely has a very sketchy/budget motel vibe. The key cards constantly deactivated, the walls were paper thin, and the floors were so dirty they turned our feet black walking barefoot. There were random people hanging around outside at all hours, and the hotel oddly seemed busiest at night, which gave the place an uncomfortable vibe. Housekeeping also never came during our stay. Overall, if you just need somewhere cheap with a nice view and don’t mind some chaos, it works. But if you want cleanliness, quiet, or a more comfortable atmosphere, this probably isn’t the place for you.

While the check-in area was nice, the room we were given was HORRIBLE!! It absolutely REEKED of Pinesol as soon as you opened the door! The sink casing was falling off the wall. It was awful! Didn’t even stay. We immediately turned around and went to an AIRBNB. As we were walking to our car a guy walked up trying to sell us something. As two females on our first girls trip and first visit to Colorado, this was totally unexpected! The pictures online were NOTHING like the room in person. Don’t stay here. Would rate zero stars if I could. The room had an exposed toilet flange with liquid - presumably sewage - exposed to air (likely from the previous remodel that wasn’t covered properly). The room had been smoked in — recently. There was mold on the ceiling and the overall cleanliness was below subpar, even for a budget property. The night manager refused to refund us after we opted to not stay there. Expedia did not come through with a refund either and has lost a customer in the process.

Whole place looks like the backrooms, it was probably pretty nice in the 70s but hasn't had one iota of work put into it in the past fifty years. Room was not awful but smelled like stale cigarettes. After our first nights stay, the next morning I requested housekeeping change out our towels only to come back at 8pm and see our dirty towels in a heap by the door in our room. I collected them, went down to the front desk by myself to get a change from them. I was told they were out of towels, and I’d have to wait till the next day. Dumbstruck, I explained my displeasure of my stay there to the front desk attendant who sympathized and suggested I check with her at 11pm when security arrived as they might have access to laundry. At that point I simply retired to bed as I wasn’t waiting up till 11pm to shower. NOT SAFE

By far the worst hotel stay I have had in my life. The hotel does not even rate one star. Every day, the toilet backed up and needed to be plunged or snaked. I had to plunge it myself several times, but drew the line at snaking the toilet myself, which they did ask me to do. The breakfast was sparse on day one and went downhill from there. No protein option. No decaf coffee. There were three kinds of dry cereal, bread and a few mini muffins. No fruit either. Coffee was not available throughout the day. There was a coffee maker in our room, but no coffee for it, despite repeated requests. There was a water dispenser in the lobby, but over a four day visit. I found it actually had water in it only one time. The water pressure in the shower was a joke, and the showerhead itself was nasty. The paint is chipping off the walls in many places, and the floor in my room was sticky. fitness center: no sanitation wipes/towels and the equipment was very sticky. The walls are paper thin. You can hear everything going in the hallways, in the rooms adjacent and outside. There was no stopper in the sink in the bathroom… Fortunately, no jewelry fell down there. There was a tissue holder in the bathroom, but no tissues. There was a desk, but no paper or pen. Basically nothing provided other than a bed, one towel for each person, one hand towel & washcloth. I’ve apologized to my wife countless times for making this reservation. Expedia, you should be embarrassed to have recommended this hotel.

I went back to the office, fixed that and headed back. The manager was stressing over the room next to ours, then she started yelling at me, "are you paid" over and over. Otherwise, the the whole place shows a lot of wear and lack of maintenance. From chipped paint, musty smells, and uneven stick-on vinyl flooring to a warped bathroom door that made me thankful that I wasn't sharing the room as it was non-functional. The mattresses were thin but also harshly springy. I was in the outside motel building, and the walls let in a lot of noise from the highway, sirens, parking lot, and neighboring rooms. Bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper. Housekeeping didn't do any cleaning during my stay, but started banging on my door every 30 minutes, starting at 9am on check-out day. I kept repeating that I would be out by 11 at check-out time, but either they didn't understand, didn't let other team members know, or didn't care.

The cleanliness standards were absolutely unacceptable. Upon inspecting the room, we found layers of visible dirt coating the upper shelves, and the bathroom ventilation unit was thick with grime. The shower was also host to visible mold. This suggests a total failure of basic cleaning protocols. The structural condition of the room was equally poor. The walls had chipped paint and, in some areas, the latex paint was peeling and coming off completely. The decay extended to the floorboards right at the edge of the shower, where there were exposed nail holes in the wood. Even the bed linens were damaged, as our sheet had a noticeable hole. Beyond the cosmetic issues, we faced functional problems. The shower water temperature was never truly hot, only lukewarm. Furthermore, the service was lacking; we had to wait several minutes as the front desk person disappeared upon our arrival. We seriously discussed leaving immediately and finding another hotel, but we elected to stay only because getting a refund for the first night would have been an extremely bothersome ordeal. This property is in urgent need of a deep clean and complete renovation. Recommendation: Do not stay here. The facility is dirty, damaged, and not worth the trouble.

I'm not one to write bad reviews. You know, if you can't say anything nice.... I wasn't going to write this one but Expedia kept hounding me. So here goes: Words can't describe the rundown tacky poorly furnished room that was our "suite." To get there we had to enter the elevator that looked like murders may have possibly occurred there at some point. The room number was done with a Sharpie, the towel rack was mostly missing (one part was still on the wall,) the bedroom mirror was etched with some kind of graffiti, the phone was missing all of the upper buttons, there was barely any furniture in the main room, I could go on but why bother. The place is obviously a tear down on it's last legs. Love the HIghlands though!

We stayed one night for an event downtown and I didn't want to spend several hundred dollars. This is perfectly adequate. The sheets smelled of bleach, so I know they were clean. It's a typical motel room. The low price is because it's incredibly dated, worn. If a Super 8 is as low in the food chain as you will go then this place is not for you. We saw something super cool in this place. Echos of a glamorous past. We hope the owner renovates.

I was put in room 120 and there wasn’t actually a room labeled 120 so I guessed. The bathroom ceiling was falling down, the shower had not been cleaned. It had popcorn ceilings and they really needed to be cleaned. The curtains don’t close all the way. The bed is very uncomfortable and makes a lot of noise when you move. There are aggressive marks on the floor from the bed being moved. They asked if I had bags when I checked in which seemed weird, of course I had bags. Otherwise the person at the front desk was very nice and breakfast was okay.

There was an issue with the first room we were assigned. The television didn't work and the people in the neighboring room were incredibly noisy. The front desk lady was very helpful and switched our room immediately. Breakfast was questionable. Biscuits were rock hard and the sauage looked like it had been leftover from yesterday. The attendant didn't speak any English so nothing was refilled when empty. No butter or jelly.

There was a moth and a spider in the bathroom that were both dead. Our friends who was part of this reservation had togo back 3 times to the front desk as the key didn't work. Maintenance who was supposed to help did not speak English it took 3 times for them to finally figure out the issue and fix. The manager in duty was extremely rude and unhelpful. She left her one employee to cover everything while she was in the back room eating. The rooms were really run down and didn't look like they haven't been updated in years. Cigarette butts everywhere.

No hot water, no cup to drink out of, no phone to contact front desk, ask for help and told to come back in an hour, one person at front desk, 20 people in line waiting, we can hear other staff members talking but they won’t come out. Room was dirty and worn out, stains all over the chair. Threadbare towels. Loud drunk people fighting. It was a mess. We were in town for a family funeral. Too much to do to move to another. I will never stay in a budget hotel again nor recommend them to anyone. We just stayed away until we had to sleep. Broken furniture-the list goes on

I am very disappointed that others would rate this as an excellent or even good experience. The hotel is very run down, graffiti on the elevator, needs major paint everywhere, some customers were literally problematic and had to be kicked out, some of the front desk staff were very rude, carpeting is in poor shape, and breakfast poorly prepared with minimal effort by staff, and ambiance very cold and unwelcoming. Exercise extreme caution.

We waiting about 5-10 more minutes until I screamed "hello???" And someone finally came up. She told me I didn't need to scream, and had an attitude the whole time checking us in The elevator is severely out of date. It barely fit cleaning maid carts and dipped slightly when you would walk on. There's ghetto writing all over the poorly painted doors of the elevator. The room was clean, but when we sat down on the bed, the lights of the headboard would go on and off. We pulled back the Mattress to see if there's a plug right behind the bed and there was - half broken and exposed. Highly dangerous for possible electrical fires.

I was placed in a room right next to some people who had clearly been there for a while and had an antagonistic relationship with management. They talked and smoked right outside out door constantly especially in the middle of the night, my companion complained to management on the first night and I confronted them directly on the 2nd night, neither of which altered their behavior significantly and as a result I got basically no sleep either night that I stayed which is absolutely unacceptable for a hotel. Additionally there were water stains all over the room and the AC didn't work half the time. Genuinely one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had, only consolations were that the location was good and it wasn't too expensive.

I checked in on Thursday, Saturday morning I asked for a clean up and new towels, by the end of the day the room was the same. The place looked sketchy, like I should have paid $25 a night to stay there, I would not have complained if I paid that much, but sadly I paid more. DO NOT STAY HERE I got them from a 4:00 a.m. flight and I booked a room here last minute because I was so very tired so the second I got there the woman gave me a attitude asking did I have a room there. 30 minutes later she tells me I can't stay on property loitering so I have to leave until 3 pm which is check in.... She's telling it to a person that's not from here, no friends no family, not to mention. Let me add I'm black. Expedia call them and alleged that that's something in the policy but when I asked to see the policy nothing was shown. And yes the location may be downtown but it wasn't the best part of downtown it was very much drug addicts all over in and out the hotels loud people just fighting and screaming from left to right, streetwalkers, and random people walking up to me trying to sell me drugs.. the store continues but long story short they refuse to cancel my reservation after they say they would, I didn't get my money back, I wasted money going places I shouldn't have been which caused me to lose my phone because I was just that tired and literally worn out I just wanted to sleep. My family arrived the day of our reservation and the front desk attendant took my husband's credit card as payment. To our surprise we were given a room in the building across the parking lot at the Budget Inn. Upon entering the room we noticed a cigarette smell, and when doing a bedbug check we found cigarette burns on the blanket for one of the beds. Someone's hair was on the pillows. There were dribbles and stains all over the arm of the chair in the room. My husband decided to ask for a refund while I started looking for another hotel. The manager accused us of burning the bed and refused to give a refund. My husband said she was extremely rude and distracted. I called my credit card company and disputed the charge. They investigated and we received a call back from the credit card company stating this hotel had told them we stayed the night and they refused to give us a refund.

Pretty weathered with major updates needed. They were mid construction at the time of my stay, aug 2025, so maybe it will improve? Construction started at 7am, don't plan on sleeping in. It was the lowest rate for the area. Ok for a quick overnight with no frills before heading to your final destination.
