110% would stay here when I come to Del Mar for now on. I’m here about 1-2x a month and have stayed in many hotels and this one is #1.

The location was wonderful. The beach amenities were awesome. But our room had an odd smell and our sheets had alot of hairs in them. Also the espresso machine was out of order.

The location to the beach. I also needed help getting some important documents printed and signed. They were able to assist me with that.

Loved this hotel will visit again soon!

Make no mistake about this motel.

Wonderful quick stay on the beach. The rooms are recently updated, nice thick towels and fresh robes in the room. The only thing to be mindful of is it is flanked by parking lots and this will produce the occasional noise, and the water pressure in the shower is very low. I would stay here again, location, location, location!!

Pros: location and convenience. You can’t beat the location of this hotel. It is right on the beach and next to restaurants and amenities are convenient Cons: did not have a good nights sleep. Our first night we were on the first floor. Maybe because it is an old hotel. We could hear the guests upstairs walking all night. I was woken up by footsteps in the middle of the night and everything they dropped. The office was so nice to move us to a room on the second floor. But we were woken up by our loud TV and talking at 1am. That lasted over an hour. The walls and floors are too thin. I never stayed at a hotel were I didn’t sleep through the night. I would rather have some sleep and be at a hotel farther away.

I always stay here when I visit for work. The hotel is in a perfect spot.

The room was stellar clean. The sunset view was spectacular. Staff were very friendly. This hotel would become my family’s go to place when we visit San Diego next time. I would like to recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to visit San Diego.

Whilst the hotel only had rooms, they were extremely comfortable and the cleanliness was outstanding. Clean towels every day and sheets clean all the time. Breakfast options were within walking distance. Be good if it was a full service hotel but understand the business model of rooms only

This is a very basic hotel. It is on the beach but there are no amenities. Ok there's a coffee machine. There are a few dinner restaurants close by but for everything else you have to go to town. Yes you can walk but who wants to do that for every breakfast? If you come with a car and a cooler you might enjoy it. Be sure to stay on the side facing another property - otherwise you are next to the public parking lot where the surfers etc gather. Add in the garbage truck and the commuter train. I am not sure why it got a high rating. I would give it a 4.

I adored this hotel and I will definitely be coming back here. They let me have my dog and it’s conveniently located on a beach and only 0.9 miles from a dog beach in Del Mar that was also lovely. The hotel was modern and nicely decorated, the staff was friendly, and I loved it overall.

A concern was the noisy bathroom fan and refrigerator. It would have been perfect if one could turn those off and have real silence.

The hotel was very clean(don't forget it's in front of the beach and dog friendly) and it was spotless. But the best of all it's the entire staff, I have never ever had this great experience at any hotel, it's not just some of the staff that were nice, every single one of them were absolutely pleasant, genuinely nice and helpful. Parking is very limited. They do graciously offer to reimburse you if you have to pay for offsite parking. They have a few sundries in the lobby , but the cappuccino machine was broken for our entire stay.

It’s great location right at beach. The staff is excellent explaining everything you need during your stay. They provide beach chairs and towel which is very good. The king room is great size and clean, bed is excellent too. But I didn’t like the shower with single side glass and nothing on the other side which make it difficult for me to enjoy my shower after a long day, I felt cold every time I shower. Also the mirror light cannot switch off, I don’t know why. it bothers me a lot during my sleeping time. Parking also tight, there’s very limited parking spots compared to the number of units

Right On the beach. A 10 minutes walk to restaurants and ice cream shops. Coffee maker in the lobby but was out of order the next day. Booking over booked the king bed rooms and I was given a different room 2 queen beds on the first floor. The hotel staff were very helpful and curious called me several times to notify me and confirm to give me the option of canceling my reservation. Which I kept and appreciated

Great location, right on the beach! All the staff were super nice and accommodating. The parking was limited but the hotel was accommodating. They also provide beach chairs, towels, an umbrella all included with your stay. They also had bikes but we didnt get to use them. Close to shops and a park with a playground with some of the best views! If you have kids, they will love seeing the Coastal train go by while at the playground. We got coffee and breakfast at Better Buzz and Harrys, so good! You can go back to the park to picnic too! Poseidon restaurant next to the hotel was really good too, their service was amazing. We cant wait to come back!

This is our third time staying here and has become our favorite California vacation spot. This beach front property is so perfect for families who want quick and direct access to the beach. Quick and beautiful walking distance to the village and great restaurants. The rooms were immaculate and so clean. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The complimentary sparkling rosé upon arrival is a nice touch. The complimentary espresso bar is my husband's favorite. My kids appreciate the complimentary boogie boards. We can't wait to come back. Just a few minor suggestions that I think would elevate the hotel would be room darkening shades on the windows that you can pull over the shutters at night. And/or a way to dim or turn off the outdoor porch lights in front of the room. It's so bright. I feel like a curtain would also dampen out the noise of the train. And to work on the water pressure in the showers. Our two rooms water pressure were quite weak. Besides that it's still a 10 out of 10 for us.

Right on the beach within walking distance of a great restaurant (Poseidon) and Del Mar main street. Clean and comfortable room. Had trouble with parking and getting bags to room because arrived late but no biggie.

We had a nice room on the beach side. The ambiance and location combined with the renovated room were outstanding. An ice machine, good on site parking, a restaurant 10 yards away was great and vibrant. We would go back in a heartbeat. Most places in the area were not on the beach! We have traveled the world but the is nothing more exquisite than on the beach with restaurants etc.!

The room was not able to be dark as there was a light outside or our room so it was really light in our room. I went to the conceirge and he said he would put a towel over the blinds but he never did. In addition, the people above us were incredibly loud, waking us up last night.

Been coming to this property for a long time. Ride on the beach close to the race track close to the music venues. The restaurant that you walk to Poseidon is a really friendly and lovely place. We love the Delmar Beach hotel, and will continue to come here for many years. You can bring stuff and barbecue right on property and have some food down at the beach. It’s great.

this place is just awesome. one of those places where i opened the door and looked inside and said outloud "omg, these rooms are superb!" wood floors, great mattress, great pillows and quilt, walkin shower and a super clean modern bathroom. 2 extremely thick and comfortable bathrubs.complimentary glass of wine when you check in, free coffee, espresso, cappucino in the morning. extremely helpful and friendly staff. I will definitely stay here again and again when i visit San Diego.

The rooms don’t have beach view but you are right on the beach. The room and property is very clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Although there is parking it’s not always enough spots for all guests. You can use the meter parking next door and the hotel will give you a refund. They made it very easy.

Nice beachfront motel.

The room was very clean, the front desk people friendly and amenities were great. The beach front patio was a great place to relax and the location was within walking distance to many food options.The only thing that would make this an even better experience was if house keeping did not knock on the door early in the morning (twice) even though the do not disturb sign was hanging on the knob. Otherwise, we would definitely stay here again.

The hotel was such a great spot to stay! The access to the beach was amazing and they provided towels and chairs. There was ample seating to sit and look out at the sunset in the evening. The facility is literally on the beach. Their patio, which features upscale beach lounges and chairs, is excellent for watching the surf without touching the sand and lugging beach stuff. We went in early October when everything is quiet and the weather still summer-like.

Great location on the beach in great little coastal town. Pros: location(on beach and near restaurants), nice room with comfortable beds, good coffee/espresso/etc options on site, great spot on back patio with chairs to overlook beach, very clean rooms and property. Cons: parking - limited spots and one day/night we had to pay at metered parking next door and then because we didn’t refill time before 8am received a ticket, only other negative was a minor complaint with the shower head - it’s on top of the ceiling and you can’t adjust it.

Downfall was parking, it’s a nightmare. Not enough spots for the hotel guests (less parking spaces that rooms.) Across the street they wanted over $100 for parking for 6 hours. There is metered parking next door but it’s like hunger games trying to get a spot.

Cute boutique hotel. Everything was great. The shower wasn’t a closed in shower which was a little cold. And the shower pressure was very low, making it hard to rinse shampoo out of your hair. Otherwise it was cute and comfortable. .

I love staying here. Only issue we have is the bathroom shower head. It is one of those "rain" shower heads, horrific. No pressure, trickles. I understand you are upgrading all of them to have a shower head and a wand type as well. Next time I visit, I will call and see if we can get a room with that shower head. Other than that, the place is a dream. Wouldn't stay anywhere else. Staff is the best anywhere. Love the atmosphere and the amenities for the beach. Coffee and the free danishes is so darn good. Also, the Chairs, boogie boards for body surfing, towels. Thank you all for the best place to stay.

Everything was great! Only one suggestion would be to add black out curtains to the room because the shutters let in too much light.

Might not be a 5 star hotel but I will choose this place again and again. Can't beat the beachfront location. Who needs a pool and a hot tub when you have the beautiful warm ocean right infront of you. The staff is the best, from the front desk, the cleaning crew, just everyone from the day we arrived.

I have stayed here multiple times and LOVE it! Right on the beach, always very clean, and they have a welcome cocktail when you arrive.

Great location, rooms are fine, but parking is a major issue with not enough spaces for all the guests. We searched half hour before getting lucky the first day, but spend a combined 2+ hours the second day after going out twice. Put a huge damper on our trip, as did the amateur porn shown through the thin walls the first night

A/C did not work, they could not fix, then they told me maintenance word come the next day, but apparently maintenance had the day off? And now second night 85 out cannot sleep I would have just stayed home. If you book this property thru Expedia they just give you their crappy broken room.

Beautiful updated oceanfront patio with lounges, chairs and umbrellas that overlook the beach 🏖️. Watching the waves and families enjoying the surf while sipping a cold drink ( available onsite). This hotel is literally on the sand‼️ You can’t stay closer to the beach than the Del Mar Hotel. There are 2 outstanding restaurants right next door. No need to drive anywhere, just relax and enjoy.

We were in town for the race track. Your hotel is perfectly located. It’s a 7 minute uber to Del Mar racing. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Wife enjoyed the shops. Also being right on the beach was great for early morning walks. Very relaxing visit.

This is a little gem of a hotel and very well run. Looks recently updated. Everyone was nice and more than on top of things. Perfect location. Parking can be a bit tight so we just walked or ubered. Restaurants next door are great. Pizza up the street. Beach etc. The beds and pillows were comfy - rooms a good size. They cleaned the exterior hallways at least twice....had towels and wine and were constantly on top of things. We had a small Expedia issue with the booking and the property manager was above and beyond. We will be back Del Mar Beach hotel!

It was an updated hotel that was right on the beach felt clean and fancy enough. The only drawback is that parking was a little bit of a hassle. Their parking lot is small.

This is a gorgeous little property located directly on the beach with convenient beach access. The staff members were so kind, welcoming, and generous!!! They give you a welcome glad of Rose! We ate dinner and breakfast on one of their several outdoor tables, which all had a beautiful ocean view. 100% I'll be back with my family and highly recommend this spot for travel.

The hotel was very clean, and the staff all around were positive and attentive.

This was our second summer visit. Last year was better. The coffee machine was not operating fully - no latte or cappuccino due to milk not working. Location is the selling point along with having all beach gear provided. The water pressure in the shower is very weak, but I guess that forces you to relax, lol. We chose this for my husband last year since he had mobility issues. You can enjoy being on the beach without having to even touch sand due to the huge deck with lots of furniture and umbrellas. Overall, for enjoying the beach with minimal effort, you can’t beat this location in Del Mar.

Very cute hotel with personable, friendly staff. We loved the warm welcome, including an early check-in, and the seating are with gas fire pits facing the beach. Nice to use boogie boards, beach chairs and towels and bikes as well. The one downside was the parking situation. It was graduation and Father’s Day weekend and incredibly busy in Del Mar, which exacerbated the demand on the small parking lot. There were several times we could not park in the hotel lot, causing us to use the valet next door or street parking, and one time none of those were an option so we had to drive around for an hour and come back. Not ideal, but for everything else that was great, we would definitely stay again.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel! The level of service from the staff was well above average. The locations is right on the beach and within walking distance to food, coffee, retail, and parks.

This is a lovely hotel but they need to work on their communication between staff. There were several issues that were not well communicated among the staff. Also, TV did not work nor did coffee pot or Espresso machine.

My family and I had a wonderful stay at the hotel. The rooms were clean and good size. The proximity to the beach couldn't have been better. The beach was clean and well maintained with lifeguards on duty. The restaurant next door was delicious and the staff was so kind. That view though was so beautiful!!

This was the perfect place to stay. The place was clean, well decorated and the staff was incredible! Brittany, the GM was so helpful and friendly! Definitely staying again!

Great place to stay with kids and easy beach access!

100% will stay again soon! The hotel staff is amazing!! They greet you with a smile and go above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean. The outdoor area is beyond your expectations! Lots of seating, the most beautiful view RIGHT ON THE BEACH, and fire pits for the evening. Beach chairs, umbrellas, water toys, and beach blankets all available just ask! Walking distance to eating and shopping with a great variety. And right next door to a beautiful park. This place is a hidden gem!

Beautiful place easy to stay

Everything was wonderful! From checking in with Brittany (she’s amazing!!!!) to the room, the view, the location, the service…..I could go on and on but I think you get my point. We loved it and will definitely return again and again!!!!

Our stay at the Del Mar Beach Hotel was absolutely excellent. The service was top-notch from the moment we arrived—warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The location couldn’t be better—just steps from the beach, which made it incredibly easy to enjoy the ocean at any time of day. We also loved being within walking distance to Del Mar Village, with its charming shops and great dining options. This hotel is a perfect blend of comfort, convenience, and coastal beauty. We’ll definitely be coming back!

You are LITERALLY paying for location only. Rooms are identical to a comfort inn just with a few quick upgrades. You can tell the upgrades were cheaply done.

The Staff was great, even when we needed to access the amenities closet for our kids to boogie board etc.

These guys are the absolute best ! Staged my room for my bday . Very friendly and easy going. Very clean awesome little hotel!! It’s definitely our favorite and we will be back soon ! Thank you guys !
