The property was amazing.. problem was the resort was inundated with a large number of babies, infants, toddler s and adolescents. It was like visiting a daycare center.. kids in pool with diapers, dogs running around off leach and kids jumping in spa like it was a pool.., parents were feckless!

Not worth the price. Ritz Carlton is far a better option.

Absolutely incredible stay with our 1 year old. From the check in with Alex to the pool attendees and wait staff, it was incredible service and gorgeous resort. We ate at Bourbon Steak and Aveo the food was nothing less than exceptional. The beach club is one of a kind- Highly recommend!

A little disappointed in the lack of transparency regarding a $70 a day valet charge.

Such a beautiful resort. Wonderful staff. Excellent restaurants. 5 star all around.

It was our first time in the Orange County area and we loved Laguna Beach and Newport Beach areas.

Everything, from the ambiance, facilitates, rooms & staff. It was a perfect stay, we extended our stay because we loved the place so much. The staff were beyond accommodating, especially Lori at the front desk/reception (my kids adored her), Jorge at one of the main restaurants during breakfast (there are plenty of restaurant choices in the resort), Dan at the Spa/Nail salon & Parker who was the sweet driver of the Tram (my kids adored him too) & everyone at the pool. Every single staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Nothing

View was gorgeous. Every thing was clean and up to date. Bed was very comfortable. Internet worked great. Staff very friendly.

This hotel is very very expensive. I have stayed multiple times and I’m willing to pay money for the convenience of being so close to the ocean. When we checked in, although there were four people working at the check-in desk, the line was very long. The girl at check-in was very nice however there was no one to assist us with our bags when we got out of our Uber so we took all the bags out ourselves, sat down with them and waited at that point, I approached a bell and asked for help to our room when we got to our room it is slightly outdated to say the least it had a very odd smell to it. I felt things in the room did not match. There were different woods all over and attached are some pictures. There was a 2 x 4 that looked like it was supposed to be used as a tray over the bathtub however, it was nothing more than a piece of wood that was stained a color that did not match any other colors in the hotel room. I noticed there was rust throughout the property where paint should’ve been touched up I also had less adequate service in the restaurant and was told I needed to wait for 45 minutes for a table when there were multiple tables empty. There was a leak over my bathtub that they said that they would send somebody to come look at they never came turned down service at night came at 9:30 when we were already in bed so I turned them away. I appreciate they do send text so you could text any concerns you had throughout the day. This hotel was over 1000.00 a night.

Perched atop a seaside bluff in the upscale Monarch Beach neighborhood of Dana Point, this resort offers sweeping Pacific Ocean views and a private beach club accessed via a charming tram ride—serving as a blissful gateway to California coastal luxury.

Not worth the price but definitely clean and unique property with excellent service

Nice property, room view was disappointing, we ordered the room with the $100 breakfast option and not only was breakfast $180 they did not apply the prepaid $100 toward breakfast. They adjusted it after we pointed out the error and they only credited $80. All of the add on fees are very high and not included in Expedia pricing. Room service was late and outrageously expensive. The $33 Cheeseburger with fries was $55 after fees before tip. That's the kind of pricing you pay here for everything, 4 times anywhere else for the equivalent.

This property had a very nice ocean view that one can enjoy whether from the lobby or on the terrace or on the ground. We were surprised such large property in the suburb did not have self parking, only valet. The hotel lobby is spacious with comfortable furniture for lounging and socializing. The room was clean but not luxurious. Shower pressure was weak and we didn’t care for the scent of the soap and shampoo.
- 5/5
Can not walk to beach restaurant on path. Would be noice if there was an adults only pool - at leat over 16 or something. We were there on Spirng break and both pools were very noisy and crowded. No free basic coffee in lobby.

We had a wonderful family vacation with our sons and their families! It was fantastic!

Grounds were breathtaking

The spa booked a manicure and pedicure for me and never disclosed the pricing or had a spa menu out to look at. It was $---! I realize I should have asked but there’s no way on earth I ever imagined a manicure/pedicure could or would EVER cost this much!

My favorites are the little botanical garden, walk to the beach, decor inside the hotel, staff is above and beyond friendly. I love Waldorf!
- 5/5
It was as expected for a 5 star hotel! Friendly responsive staff. Beautiful surroundings inside & out!
- 5/5

- 5/5
service was wonderful. beds were great. pools were warm and handicap entry was self control and easy. all public areas inside and out were wheelchair accessible. knock out views. we loved it.

Service was ok, but expected better for a 5 star hotel
- 5/5
Beautiful property and great location
- 5/5
The stay was fabulous as we were celebrating my wife's 50th birthday.
- 5/5
The customer service was excellent, Russell at reception went above and beyond my expectations. Bourbon Steakhouse was delicious and a treat for the entire family.
- 5/5
We stayed for 11 days at the Hotel and the parking fee was $ 825 which was more than I paid for our hire car We have stayed many years in this area at other hotels and because we are staying so long they usually help you with the parking fee In fact we have stayed many many times at Monarch Beach but since they have outsourced their parking service to a third party they are unable to help I realize most visitors from the US would probably only stay one or two nights but when you visit from Europe you tend to stay a lot longer
- 5/5
We were here for a wedding and everything was perfect
- 1/5
Absolutely misrepresented property and unjustified room rates! Cheap Hilton, not Waldorf Astoria!
- 5/5
Great hotel!
- 5/5
Property is five star level and location is great with easy access to the beaches around the area. Gym and pool are also great.
- 5/5
Much better resort than Ritz next door and even Montage.
- 5/5
Excellent stay and impeccable service from the entire staff
- 5/5
Everything was great. Although the hotel fees and valet fees are something to keep in mind. Dinning at the hotel can be very expensive although food is delicious.

- 5/5
Everything was great, we did celebrate 4th of July with family having lots of fun.
- 5/5
Beautiful grounds and views
- 5/5
Great property. Close to many things or you can stay on the property and have everything you want. Fast and friendly staff provide anything you may need.
- 4/5
The property facilities were not maintained as one would expect at a 5 star resort. The food served was average. No mini fridge in the upgraded room. Only one hook in the bathroom. Again, not what one would expect from a 5 star hotel.
- 5/5
Unfortunately, the check-in personnel was not attentive. She was a little bit rude and condescending.
- 5/5
The staff was very accommodating! The ground were immaculate and the sunset wows were breathtaking! The location was great with being only about 10 minutes from shops and restaurants. We will definitely be going back!
- 5/5
To say this place is Top notch above and beyond amazing would be an understatement. Every aspect from ambience to food, to staff was amazing. The smells of the resort and the overall vibe was amazing. This is our future spot from now on!!

Great resort and people are very nice. Lobby bar is under construction so probably should be noted somewhere. Otherwise great place to stay and I have stayed there for multiple years in a row.
- 5/5
Did not have the heart to give only 4* - but the quality of toilet paper and the bed linen were an issue. The cheapest possible, thin toilet paper and below average, so-so quality pillows and linen - the type associated with under-200$ rooms - pity, indeed... but the food, grounds and pools were wonderful, thank you!
- 4/5
The property location is great
- 5/5
Beautiful property!
- 4/5
Too far from the beach, dogs barking, It felt like it was a dog hotel, this hotel is way to expensive for it to feel that way.
- 1/5
We were given the worst possible room. Next to the elevator and “resort view” which is the view of the main restaurant. Major noise issues from diners and service employees opening and closing kitchen doors etc. We could not enjoy our balcony or leave the doors open for fresh air. There was dinner service into the night and early morning breakfast hours. We stayed in 3 different hotels for our stay in Dana Point as we were meeting family. Waldorf was the worst.
- 5/5
Beautiful property & amenities. Great dining. Wonderful staff. Easy access to private beach. Beautiful views. Will definitely be back.

Stunning property. Great customer service. Attentive staff. The view from the pool is simply phenomenal. The beach club is the icing on the cake.

It’s a little bit of a hike to get yo the beach but better than Pelican Hill. Did’t get upgrade or gift for being Expedia VIP. Didn’t get late check-out when requested either

Everything was great!

1st of all my check in was 4 and family wait 1 hrs my room be ready which definitely not accepted even didn’t say sorry and didn’t care at all 2nd not good quality restaurant available there only steak house was great 3rd charge me 70$ for vallet per night which never seen like that anywhere!! Also pool area was not clean

everything was perfect, super nice staff
- 2/5
The food was not quality. Service was pretty good. The room was dated and the sheets were not quality.
- 3/5
They didn’t have the rooms that I paid for. I ended up to pay for an extra room. The staff and management were so nice and helpful.
- 5/5
So professional amazing service
- 5/5
I love the private beach that goes with your stay. You take the tram down to it and the beach is lovely and has a great restaurant right on the beach.
- 4/5
Terrific pools, good size rooms, excellent bathrooms, great views from the partial ocean view king room balcony. Great to have access to the tennis club across the street. On the downside: $50 per night for a rollaway is excessive. 70 per day for valet parking in a remote location is also excessive. And though this is a former St Regis, many areas are dated and frankly shoddy (e.g., all the tile around the main swimming pool and the hot tubs have lost their coating making for extremely sharp edges). Turndown service is late and inconsistent. One time I called to get ice, and was brought ice in 5 minutes, then interrupted with more ice 10 minutes later (despite the privacy light on), then interrupted by a 3rd person with more ice another 15 minutes later. Our final night I had to call for ice and was brought it, then brought a 2nd round 10 minutes later. This is a pretty big communication flaw. And after the first incident I tried to bring this to the attention of the front desk staff and was frankly shocked at the unprofessional manner of the staff person, as well as the manager on duty. No apology and they treated it as if it was my fault? Not possible. So there is work to be done.
- 5/5
The property is gorgeous and the staff is outstanding. The prices within the resort were outrageous. $65 old fashion cocktails and $9 for drip coffee made it hard to enjoy food or beverages.
- 5/5
The property is gorgeous
- 5/5
Excellent property with lots of privacy.
- 5/5
Beautiful! Will definitely go back.
- 5/5
Absolutely beautiful hotel from the rooms, lobby and everything inbetween. The scenic beauty at the beach club and the gorgeous patio area off the lobby are spectacular.
- 5/5
One of our favorite resorts! Feels like home and the staff is super friendly looking to accommodate you in any way possible every night of our stay!
- 3/5
Ritz, down the hill is a much better value I believe

- 5/5
Great resort with exceptional staff. Would recommend this resort for families and for little children as their family pool has a splash pad and a low pool for little ones to enjoy.
- 5/5
Wonderful stay. We can’t wait to come back. Thank you!
- 5/5
Wonderful !
- 4/5
Property was clean and staff was very friendly. Bellman that helped us with our luggage upon check out was very kind.
- 2/5
The manager on duty was not helpful and didn’t feel empathetic Had the worst stay ever!
- 5/5
We celebrated my daughter’s 16th birthday! Everyone was so nice and helpful, from check in with Daniel or David sorry can’t remember name to the bellman, pool service and shuttle service! This trip was more than we ever excepted. Thank you for making our stay memorable!
- 2/5
Our room was very old and dated. It needed to be gutted years ago. We went $4,500 total for the room on the two nights. Much too expensive for that condition.
- 4/5
The rooms were very clean. The rest of the property was not well cared for. The fire pits did not have gas and the staff refused to refill them. Dirty and broken dishes were left around the property for days, often in areas where young children played. I expected better service from the Waldorf.
- 4/5
It was relaxing
