While the hostess at check-in was perfectly friendly, she was the lone mask of civility on a house of horrors. The exterior of the motel doesn't just look neglected; it looks abandoned, decaying in plain sight. Inside, the atmosphere is suffocating. Every single surface in the room carries a sickening, tacky stickiness that clings to your skin, accompanied by a heavy, ancient stench of stale tobacco smoke that feels baked into the walls. But the true horror was the luggage rack, which was smeared with actual human or animal fecal matter. It was an absolute biohazard. To sleep there is to endure a psychological assault; the walls are paper-thin, vibrating with a relentless, chaotic din of noise from the outside world and neighboring rooms that makes rest impossible. "Run-down" doesn't begin to describe it. This isn't just a poorly maintained motel; it is a deeply unsettling, unhygienic environment that feels genuinely unsafe. Avoid at all costs.

The air conditioner was very noisy. Kept me up all night. And there were flies in the room.

Nice breakfast

$196 for an average motel in a small town is eye wateringly expensive. We had an event in Cottage Grove and I saw the very high rating so we booked it. I thought it must be something special. It’s just an aging motel with a decent breakfast. They have a waffle maker. I eat low-carb so I was attracted the the scrambled eggs and sausages for breakfast. HOWEVER: the eggs were made from powdered eggs.

Staff were all very helpful and accommodating of our late night check in. The room was in desperate need of a deep cleaning. Shabby & clean is one thing, worn & dirty not great. The Lobby and outside had been remodeled.

From the beginning of my stay to the end of my stay Management and staff were available and visible during my time there. I needed to change my room from my original reservation, Manager Nicole, found me one more suitable (I did not bring my dogs, I had a pet room) so, she found me a less expensive room, where I would be staying with my family for 7 days. The breakfast was wonderful, and the staff was always very helpful and willing to go the extra distance for all the guests, I witnessed many delightful conversations and was a part of a few. I would recommend staying alfor any length of time here, and I look forward to going back. Great staffing

Good love it their good people work hard

I have been traveling for almost two weeks. I have had a lot of complimentary breakfasts. The fact that they had waffles, yogurt, and juice was good. The eggs and sausage had run out by the time we showed up……..an hour before the end of breakfast. Not too much attention to those kind of details. Selection of tea was dismal. The gravy was too thick.

Be careful booking rooms with pets via Expedia. They do not allow animals in every room. We booked the room with a hot tub and were told that we could not stay in that room due to their policies. We were rebooked to a different room. The insurance offered by Expedia to cover something like this does not help, no refund provided for the excess cost though they said they would do so.

It was a pleasant roadside motel, updated and clean.

For a non-chain hotel, Cottage Grove impressed me with friendly staff, clean rooms, ans excellent breakfast. I gave only 4 stars on amenities only because, unfortunately, during my stay the pool was closed for maintenance. Everything else was 5+ stars!!

Overall good experience at the Cottage Inn, enroute from Palm Springs, CA to Washington state. Staff were friendly and helpful. Pool and spa were welcome after long days drive. The property is a little dated but clean and comfortable. Like most highway motels, it’s close to the highway but surprisingly quiet inside. Also the hvac unit, which can be very loud, was pretty quiet, enabling me to get a good nights sleep. There’s no real restaurant within walking distance but a number of fast food places, including a Mexican place that had good food. The included breakfast was minimal - served on the reservation desk and no hot food but adequate. I’d probably stay there again if I’m on that route because it’s a safe bet.

Great location to stop for our trip with our dog.

My wife and I enjoyed every moment about our stay at the cottage Grove Inn. It was peacefully romantic, clean, and an unforgettable Jacuzzi tub at the foot of our bed very cool. We will be staying again for sure.

Room was immaculate. Beds very firm. Wonderful large bathtub. Brought service dog. Was able to park right outside room door. Nice breakfast included two kinds of waffles, biscuits and gravy, eggs, sausages, fruit, juices, good coffee. Office staff friendly . We'll be back.

We have been here a few times for the hot tubs in the rooms for me and my family and everything is great 100 but the breakfast....I'm thankful for it but the eggs and sausage and the waffles that were strawberry flavored....I'll eat them next time but I'll know to bring other things to make it... Better. But we won't let that stop us we will be back

Honestly the sweetest and kindest staff over who worked over time to help everyone who was there for the Eugene Marathon. They put breakfast out early especially for us and bent over backwards to help with any little need we had. I’m so pleased with my stay! Excellent staff, give them raises!

Room is very spacious and beds comfortable. Eventhough it faces I-5, the noise not very noticeable. Great continental breakfast! Plenty of parking for boats or RV.

Rooms are clean, comfortable and relaxing. The Inn has a swimming pool and hot tub. Close to fast food and restaurant. Good for a weekend getaway. Friendly atmosphere and helpful staff. I would highly recommend. I have stayed there many times. Good pricing for rooms. No complaints about anything.

When we drive up I was not impressed. Looks like a revamped motels 6. But the man at the front desk was exceptionally friendly and helpful and the room clean albeit basic.

Staff were friendly and welcoming. Rooms were clean and they offered plenty of amenities. Bed wasn't comfortable and the noise from the freeway was very loud. Hotel is situated very close to freeway so hard to avoid the noise so not a ding on the hotel, just noteworthy. Breakfast wasn't great, husband had the strawberry waffle which he said was good, I tried the lukewarm biscuits and gravy which was not good. Powdered eggs and they didnt have any sausage when we were down for breakfast at 6:30 am. Breakfast was kept "warm" via crockpots.

Clean, friendly staff, convenient and dog friendly There was no shower curtain. We left in the early morning so it wasn't that big of a deal, but if we were there longer, we would have asked for one and hopefully we would have been provided one!

Great location right off the I-5....you can hear the traffic in the distance, but it did not disturb us. The staff were very nice and the breakfast was good. Perfect for a 1 night stop, we arrived late and left early.

We thought the breakfast was good - cold and hot items (and well cooked), with a nice selection of juices, coffee, and cocoa. And the elevator made getting luggage to the second story a breeze.

The two staff I interacted with were super nice (front desk when we checked in and person handling breakfast). The breakfast buffet was really good, with scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits, etc.. The room was big, clean and quiet.

The rooms were filthy. I was given a “pet room”. The toilet had not been cleaned. There was hair on the floor and private type hairs and poop stains in the toilet. I went to the office to get a different room (staff were friendly). The new room was almost as bad. It had not been cleaned to any standard I was willing to stay in. I let the office know, and I left and went to a Best Western.

Everything was great expect the lady working the front desk the morning after our stay. She was working the desk and doing the breakfast. She was rude. When I walked in the front door she looked at me and said I don’t know what is in there I don’t have time to look or time to add any food to it. I could hear her keep complaining about her job the whole time I was eating.

Right off freeway easy access They have a king bed room, than $25 more for a king with pet room yet They charge a pet fee on top of the more expensive room that states it is intended with a pet- ridiculous, so frustrating

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that pulling up to this hotel, I was a little concerned. The staff was great, the room was clean, the beds were comfortable, the breakfast spread was great, the hot tub was clean minus a couple flies. But we were in town for a tournament and didn’t know any better and if we do this tournament again, I will gladly stay at this hotel! I won’t say it’s a five star hotel, but our experience was!

Very nice, clean and quiet. We were only there less than 12 hours. The breakfast was very limited. Could have had more fruit (only apples) it was very high carb and sugar.

This was my first time at the Cottage Grove Inn located in Cottage Grove, Oregon and I was greatly impressed by the service and the room. The male front desk check in employee was courteous, professional and very polite. The room was very clean and everything worked to include the very clean king size bed. I highly recommend this place.

Have stayed there many times. it has remained a great choice for Cottage Grove. Close to restaurants and access to the interstate. There is a burnt-out restaurant by the motel which is a bit of a downer. But it is not part of the motel facility with different ownership

Not a fancy place but it had everything we wanted. The accessible room was spacious and met our needs. We would stay there again.

The front desk staff is wonderful. We like the jacuzzi king room, even though there isn't an elevator. We stayed here two weeks ago and came back because the room seemed clean enough, except for a few hairs in the tub and in the corner of bathroom counter. So we decided to give it another chance. As soon as we got to the room, we found an opened monster drink sitting on the tv console, dirty bathroom floor, hair on wall in bathtub. I'm afraid we won't ever come back.

Absolutely fabulous staff! This hotel is a great find - little things that make a difference. No loose power outlets, quiet HVAC, good quality food at breakfast with paper dishes and not styrofoam. Had a great sleep here.

Overall, this is a great little place to stay in Cottage Grove. Very clean, very friendly and quiet. My only complaint were the eggs and sausage. The eggs looked like a watery, grainy, lump inside of a crock pot, and tasted as if they were powdered and not fresh. The sausage was tasty but very rubbery and bendable. The fruit was ripe though which was nice. I would have tried other things but my diet is limited, and I am unable to eat the other items due to a gluten and dairy intolerance. It all looked good though.

Very clean everywhere, they even had the outdoor pool heated to 95 so we could still swim in the cold. the children were really loving the pool. The breakfast was especially delicious with real flavorful robust coffee, best I've had in years at a hotel.

This property was very clean and the staff were outstanding. The property is older but well kept. The breakfast was delicious. Warm items were warm and tasted delicious. My husband had the blueberry waffles and I had biscuits and gravy. Both delicious. Highly recommend this property.

It was OK clean wise. And there was lots of access to nearby fast food restaurants. Also it was just off the freeway, which made it convenient. Would I stay here again? No.

The staff is amazing, they made the entire stay A+! The area is convenient to interstate 5, shopping isn’t far off and tons of food options. Breakfast is good. We felt safe and our pets were welcome.

We were there for a quick overnight stay. The room was very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. The breakfast in the morning as good and the coffee was great

Nice outdoor pool and hot tub. But the people made our stay special. Friendly, helpful staff make the difference here. They found a way to give me enough charge in my car to get me to a charging station that wasn't broken down like the one I counted on across the street, gave us extra towels for the grandkids who dropped in to use the pool, etc. They just went above and beyond, so we'll be staying here every time that we come to visit the grandkids!

I have only two criticisms: a) the decaf coffee on Saturday was, at best, lukewarm. Had to microwave it to be drinkable. How does that happen? b) It's unfortunate the hotel is so close to the I-5 Interstate. Traffic noise is very distracting - even with the door and windows shut.

Surprisingly clean and tidy room for the night. The only downside would be the close proximity to a highway for noise. There was a white noise machine in the room and one could request a quieter room if available.

Convenient and decent place to stay in Cottage Grove

Our room was not clean, specifically the bathroom and carpeted areas. Bedsheets were clean and bed was comfortable. Overall condition of the room was tired and unkempt. Would not stay here again. At $145 per night, there are better values elsewhere.

This is the place I always stay when I’m in town. Prices are fair, the staff is friendly and accommodating, and the rooms are clean and comfortable.

Elevator was not working. Broken leg prevented me from walking up 3 flights. They cancelled my room. No response from Expedia getting money back.

Our go-to hotel for Cottage Grove family visits. Spacious and clean room, comfortable bed, great parking. Excellent service. Plenty of bathroom counter space and closet space.

I arrived pretty late to this property and they accommodated. Very comfortable mattress and pillows, Jacuzzi and shower were great, i’d rather have a body shower than body soap, breakfast was alright, clean property and friendly stuff, I highly recommend this place.

This used to be a Comfort Inn where we have stayed in years past. I was afraid it would have gone downhill under private ownership. I was wrong. We were completely satisfied with the room and amenities.

VERY loud highway noise, AC unit was loud. Earplugs would have been a good idea, then would have been fine.

Friendly staff, clean room and facilities, and great breakfast for the money. My family said the pool and hot tub were in good condition. We stayed there during a road trip from Seattle to the Bay Area. We liked it so much we decided to stay there again on the way back north even though it wasn't the halfway point.

This is an older motel but recently renovated and in seemingly excellent shape. The room was clean, the water was hot. The tv worked well. The fridge was silent and cold. In short everything worked well. We will stay here again.

I have never stayed in a motel, so I was quite skeptical. I was traveling for the national outdoor nike track meet. Our track team was delayed in communicating the decision to attend and therefore all of the accommodations in Eugene were already booked. To my pleasant surprise, the room was very clean, bed was comfortable, all rooms came with a refrigerator and microwave. The only negative was a day or two of minimal hot water due to a boiler repair and the eyesore of the abandoned building in the front of the parking lot, which is the vice from many of the rooms.

Manhattan prices for a cheap motel in the middle of nowhere. Highway noise is constant. Sink was clogged from the outset. These dumps need to get wiped out when a real hotel is finally built in Eugene.
