    Bed was comfortable, room had 2 chairs with foot stools, small frig with freezer. Included breakfast w/eggs, sausage, various breads, juices, fruit, yogurt. Lobby was modern and nice looking, staff very helpful. Location was on very busy street, but was a good location to get to other places in very expensive Newport Beach, CA. Other hotels averaged $300 or more per nite. The bathroom was old. Grout missing, shower tiles old & grout missing, very low toilet, sink faucet would not shut off, took a long time of running water to even have warm water, not hot.

    I’m an older woman and they put me in the middle of a bunch of 20-30 year olds that did not sleep. I still work. I don’t stay in hotels, for this reason. The staff gave me no respect. If there was respect, I would not have been put in such terrible conditions. Not impressed

    Cheap place close to airport and beach. Staff was nice but a lil cra. One guest smoke detector was going off they just told him no maintenance on site just pull it from the ceiling, another guest couldnt get their shower to work. All that happened during checkin. Room was nice a clean for the price. Parking felt safe.

    This place is not the best or the nicest, but for the price it is decent and convenient. $13 Uber ride to the Newport Pier. Grocery store, food, and coffee shops close by. Pool was closed for remodeling, and our smoke detector was chirping. Free breakfast and coffee in the lobby was not the best, but again, convenient.

    Loved this stay from staff to the location I had to minus a star for the mold smell in the room which unfortunately is common in OC hotels… it’s an issue. They did have a window in the room that helped. The room was large and had a fridge and microwave. Good stay overall. Not a luxury place so if I had the money I’d get a guaranteed non-smelly hotel which would prob be a lot more money.

    Very dirty, leaky faucet, staff not helpful. Not safe at night. Drunk people partying in the parking lot. When we told the girl at the desk, all she said was why did we park there. There was no other place to park and we did not feel safe walking to room. No one helped or tried to get rid of the drunks in the parking lot. This place has gone done hill since our last time I have been here.

    Usually have a decent stay here but this past stay was horrible. Neighbor was up most of the night very loud and scary. Husband got bites from bugs and we think it was from there. Called to get moved and they said they will let us know but never did. Room doesn't get cleaned until three days being there. Sheets were stained.

    This hotel is going through a staged renovation. There was a good breakfast with waffles, eggs, sausage bagels, bread and cold cereal. We enjoyed the breakfast. The room was not the cleanest but I have stayed in much worse. More than anything it just needs updating which is happening in stages. They are renovating about 40 rooms currently and the construction and renovation did not bother us. It wasn’t noisy or inconvenient. The pool area is closed for upgrades. My understanding is the property is under new ownership and they are catching up on some much needed updates. I loved the location, and the price was fair. Overall I was satisfied with our stay.

    Terrible room. The bathroom did not have bodywash, upon calling the desk a guy came with another bottle of the wash which had only 4drops of wash. He apologized and said we don’t have anymore….like what??? he handed me soap bars and left. The mirror outside the bathroom was dirty. It was really bad. The breakfast place barely had any food..

    This room is a “get what you pay for” situation. The ceiling fan was missing from the room, but the electrical cords and wire nuts were hanging down. The room stunk of decades of smoking. The furniture was in poor condition. The room was clean and had a refrigerator and microwave. If you’re just needing a clean bed with no frills for less, then this might be the place. The staff was very kind and helpful.

    The staff was the best thing about the property. The property is in terrible condition. It is so dirty, the pool was closed, there was no breakfast, there were homeless people in the parking lot. Not safe for kids, exposed electrical wires in the rooms. Do not book this hotel, it will ruin your vacation.

    Pool was closed. Dirty, unmaintained stairs, elevator. Shower/bath: mold in corners poorly covered by caulking. Allowed a loud party in one of the upstairs rooms to go on until 11:30. Called front desk to report, no one would answer. Only thing average or above was the ground's landscaping. Would not stay here again.

    Unfortunately, this stay was really disappointing. The pool and breakfast, which were major reasons we booked this property, were both closed with no clear notice ahead of time.     Great location, not a tweaked hotel. It’s older and due for remodel. Toilet leaked every time I flushed, not very happy about walking in poo or pee water. Staff moved me to another room and that room smelled like a dog and spray to try to cover up the smell.

    The bed was comfortable and clean. The linens were all fresh and clean. The staff was very nice. The hotel room was rundown, the TV very basic just cable with no guide to refer to. The pool was out of order, and there was some really disgusting substance on one of the picture frames. The location is excellent and there is great food options around close to 7-Eleven and grocery store and hospital.

    When I can into my room, my toilet didn't flush. I couldn't get out of the room as the door was jammed. I called on the phone to the front desk - it rang 28 times without anyone answering. I redialed and it rang 15 times - no answer. That it when I jiggled the door for 2 min finally getting it opened. I went to the front desk and explained my complaints. They said a handyman would fix it that day. I returned at 5:30pm that night. Closed the door after I got in, and found the toilet not fixed, then tried to get out with the door jammed again. I went to the desk, furious, and expltmy situation. They told my they would upgrade me to a suite. It was ok, but a lot of noise at 4 am every day waking me up. I will not be returning to this place.

    We traveled as two families. The staff was friendly and accommodated us with 2 king suites next door to one another. However, the rooms are outdated and need remodeling. Although the suites were non-smoking, there lingered a mild stench of old smoke. The bathrooms were clean, but faintly smelled of mildew. The overhead light in the sink area in one of the 2 rooms was not working. Otherwise, we had a pleasant stay. A warm daily breakfast with plentiful options was a plus. Thank you!

    Great quick trip. Needs updates inside rooms. Breakfast was not bad. Great bed and pillows. Not a fussy person but for a Ramada it needs work. Some of the Little things like holes in wall, seal gone in entry door and huge gap for bugs/rodents to get under door, light shines through door jam, peeling wallpaper throughout room and cracked tile are the reason I would say it was a 4.25 out of 5 for me. The vending machine owner at the hotel is starting retirement early having water bottles at $4.50 each and bags of chips for $3.00. Pool is under maintenance and was closed. Near various places like trader joes, del taco and other quick stops.

    The Ramada Wyndham was located in great area. Near the beach and stores/restaurants. For us it was for games in the area. The hotel was near the college and easy access for take out food and groceries. The rooms were clean and beds were comfy. The staff were nice helpful. The pool is under construction at the moment.

    When I arrived, the room I was given smelled like cat urine. The front desk staff said cats aren't allowed, but as I was going to my room I literally watched someone carrying a cat carrier with a crying cat. Front desk staff were kind and understanding and let me switch rooms with a free upgrade. The next room didn't smell, but it wasn't very clean and the vanity light didn't work consistently. The walls are very thin, and so Friday night was very loud with people partying and having other loud adult activities. The property says it is non smoking/vaping, but my room constantly smelled like weed from who knows where. I checked out a day early, absorbing the cost since I was tired of the smell. Also the wifi was terrible, dial up speeds of 4mbps, so I couldn't get any work done for my job. The positives: the free breakfast was decent and free parking is nice. The bed and pillows were actually quite comfortable, although the sheets were thin and worn out. Staff were friendly, but hospitality alone doesn't cut it these days. I advise to spend a little more until this place finishes their renovations, whenever that is.

    Website said nothing about the hotel being under construction .First we were checked into a room that was out of service , pool was closed for construction , and the mattress was very hard.     When we checked in they were jack hammering the pool . I didn’t see any thing that said there would be construction. The road noise from the hotel is very loud probably because there are no seeps on the doors. There are large gaps under the doors for bugs to crawl in. When we went our room our son took his shoes off and we realized the floor was soaking wet. We told the front desk and felt like we were inconveniencing them. The place is just falling apart. You get what you pay for.

    It was soo noisy early in the morning, it sounded like there was a family reunion next door to us and in yhe hallway. Kids banging on the walls, people yelling down the hallway in front of our door. It sounded like someone was doing cartwheels in the shower. The walls are super thin and you can hear everything. You can hear the water tunning through the walls. We got a great price for the room on new years eve but now i now why. Maybe when its not as crowded it's a little better. But would not recommend on a holiday weekend. It is a little outdated but the room was clean at least. We only stayed for one night, which was fine.

    The first room I was given had towels down on the floor to soak up water from the leaking fridge. The fan in the bathroom sounded like an aeroplane and the toilet flush was inadequate. I asked to change rooms and staff were helpful. The new room didn’t have these issues but was dated and rundown. The breakfast area was dirty and uninviting however the choice for breakfast was adequate.

    This was a great place to stay for a variety of reasons. The property was clean, breakfast was a great bonus, and there is an onsite restaurant. The location is what makes this place so great. In just a few minutes, you can find yourself at Newport Pier. There are plenty of places by the hotel to walk to, including Trader Joe's and Starbucks. The pool is heated and the hot tub is bubbly. Great place to stay!

    Spots on the bed sheets and towels. Ants on the furniture and table. Had to get tv programmed to work. Carpet smelled like urine. Spill marks that looked like blood on the side of the table and on the wall towards the floor in the bathroom. Would never stay here again. I was even worried about being barefoot because the floor was so gross.

    We stayed for a week, breakfast was from 7 to 9 but eggs and sausage ran out at eight every day. When we did get there at seven one day, the eggs tasted spongy as sausages were paper, thin, and did not taste like real meat. The love seat was worn and stained. The carpet was a old, musty and dark. The bathroom was dated, the shower curtain did not seem fresh and clean. Toilet handle had to be held down for close to a minute. In order for toilet to flush adequately. We only got three thin bath towels one hand towel and zero washcloths. We had to ask for more towels on the third day. We stayed at Wyndham hotel rooms that are much much nicer. This hotel was very disappointing. Very shocked that this is owned by Wyndham.

    Had a disgusting issue with the room during the middle of the night. My husband and I packed up and left. The worker that I was dealing with during the middle of the night gave me the manger’s name. I’ve made multiple phone calls, left messages and still have not heard back. With that being said, I don’t recommend the hotel at all and very bad customer service.

    Staff was excellent. Except for the guy in charge of breakfast. The first morning of 9 mornings I went to breakfast. Tons of room for improvement. Scrambled eggs were all gone and the guys said, “There is more coming tomorrow.” What? I didn’t go back until my last morning, this morning, and the exact same thing happened. No scrambled eggs left. Only tons of carbs, waffles, sugary cereal, etc. it’s really bad. Zero fruit out. None. No apples, no bananas, no oranges, nothing. This is so easy to fix and what a great opportunity to wow your guests. It’s really not that hard to put on a good breakfast. It’s a management issue, obviously. Pretty disappointing.

    * The safe in the room, did not work. * There were ants in the bathroom. The staff treated that room, which removed the ants for one day. But they returned the next day. * The exercise room is only open from 9am - 9pm, which was VERY VERY annoying. Why? No one had a reason. * The clock was broken. The staff did replace it. * Each day, there was less and less food for breakfast. (Eg, no eggs, then no muffins, then ...) * There was no maintenance person, after hours. (There was a person during the day, who was very helpful -- for clock, ants, etc.)

    Pictures make this place look much better than it actually is. Words that come to mind: Run down, grimy, stale and pungent, and not well insulated (can hear neighbors and being downstairs, you hear every step from the second level). Pay a little more and get something nicer. Generally speaking, just yuck; you get what you pay for.

    I reserved a suite and when I called at 9:00pm on the day of arrival to let them know I would be checking in after 12:00am, I was told that they had to cancel my reservation because of a flood they had in the room I was supposed to get. I was then given a regular room not the suite. The room was very dated, and smelled of mildew very musty. The bathroom mirror and the shower curtain had stains all over. I will not be staying here ever again. Not to mention all the traffic and weird activity going on in the back half of the hotel.

    The staff was nice and the room was good and clean when we checked in. There a few issues. When we checked in there was a light was not working and we immediately notified the front desk. But in our 5 days there it was never fixed. Then we were told the maids would refresh our room once during our stay if we picked a day and notified the front desk. We did that but the maids never came. And for breakfast on our first morning there was a note “Sorry for the inconvenience but there will be no sausages.” No big deal. But then for the next 4 days each morning there was a sign “Sorry for the inconvenience but there are no eggs.” There literally was a grocery store across the street. Clearly the owners didn’t care to fix the situation for the guests.

    The staff was very nice checking me in. The pre-check in was easy. Self check out easy. The room was meh. Outdated a bit and smelled strongly of smoke. Very loud. Lots of barking dogs.     The next evening, I politely left a note for the guests upstairs, assuming they were unaware of how loud it sounded below. Ten minutes after falling asleep, the stomping returned, even louder. When I went to speak to them, I was met with shouting, profanity, and aggressive behavior from a man who appeared intoxicated. I went to the front desk expecting help, but instead was met with indifference and made to feel as though my concern was a nuisance. I packed up and moved to a nearby hotel, where I booked a top-floor room. Between the lack of soundproofing, unhelpful staff, and a deeply unpleasant encounter with another guest, I regret to say this hotel is not suitable for a peaceful or professional stay.

But it is so close to Newport and Huntington Beach. The parking lot had excellent lighting. I witnessed the room cleaning staff and they were excellent and thorough.     Traveled with family for couple nights stay. Front desk service was the usual, no issue but nothing special either. Upon approaching our room we noticed the door was slightly open already and cautiously proceeded to enter and check every area inside. Luckily there was no one occupying the room, also noticed some trash still in the waste basket. Went back to front desk and informed our findings and requested a different room which was provided promptly. In the new room everything was pretty standard, bed comfort was okay, restroom was very small (low shower head, toilet literally against the wall to your right (toilet paper mounted here as well)) noise level on the street side was definitely noticeable and likely not bearable for light sleepers. Kids didn't complain about the breakfast so I'm sure it was fine. Parking was good with lots of spaces. Location of hotel was good with easy in and out access to shopping, beaches, and restaurants nearby. Likely wouldn't recommend for families and wouldn't book again for a family trip but would say okay stay for lone or adult only travelers.

    First, they told me at check in that they didn't have the room that I had booked. I have a large party so I needed a room big enough for all of us. Their only option was to give us two rooms side-by-side not joining. I have small kids. I can't leave them in a room by themselves. They told me there was nothing to do for that first night and that they would try to make accommodations better the following day. I was told the manager would reach out to us. The manager never reached out and we were forced to stay in the rooms the second night as well. The rooms were dirty. They smelled very musty and my family had to split up into two rooms to which we had to walk outside to see each other. I am sure there are better options in the area than this place.

    BUGS!! We stayed two nights. The first night noticed a spider and this long bettle. Didn't think anything of it. The next night the bathroom was covered with flying beetles. It was so discusting! The beds were hard as rocks. They had a sheet and a super scratchy blanket. The housekeepers don't come daily to take dirty towels and trash. Someone called us at midnight on the phone. Then at 2 am there was a man screaming at his friends dropping f-bombs. It was not pleasant especially with a kiddo.

    You can hear people talking outside all night. The shower didn’t work, but when I called the front desk, he immediately gave us the room next door to go shower. Staff were friendly and very helpful! Would definitely recommend and stay here again.

    The room had a strong mildew smell. There were only two towels for four people (yes you can request more). The elevator closest to our room was broken. It was noisy and we could hear random noises all night. One of the staff members up front was less than helpful with check in.

    The room was only ok. I checked-in late and was exhausted. In the morning, the water barely trickled out of the faucet. I told staff later in day and only to learn no maintenance was on duty. They offer another room but I was checking-out the next morning. They agreed to a small credit.

    I checked in and the staff was fine, my room had ants crawling in the bathroom. I told the front desk and they moved me at no charge to a suite--great. The suite also had ants and fleas. They room is badly needing updates, there was a ceiling fan missing a blade illustrating the problem

    I had chosen your hotel expecting a quiet and comfortable stay, but this incident completely disrupted my rest and negatively affected our overall experience. I did not expect such a disturbance in what should have been a peaceful environment my kids were not able to go sleep as they were afraid about the continuous knocking sound tha lasted more than 30min.

    Easy & fast check in, clean room, comfy bed, room had been partially updated so it didn’t feel old but bathroom not updated. Bathroom was clean just old. Free full breakfast that decent. Would stay again. Good value. Area felt safe although we only stayed one night so didn’t explore much.

    I had a room in the 330s. It desperately needed a renovation, except for the mattresses. They seemed new and that was my main goal for a one night stay, a firm mattress. In general I’m not sure management has a grip. My quiet room had guys working on the broken elevator right there, in the am. Not quiet. And they couldn’t fix it. We had a cheap rate but think it through carefully.

    The room was clean, but the bathroom door was broken, it would stick when closing and was hard to open and the panels are separated; door needs to be replaced in Room 214. Overall, not a bad stay, good for a night to go to a show. Suited our need perfectly.

    We have stayed here for the past 25 years and I’m shocked at how deteriorated everything! Nothing has been re done or anything in all this time. The couch is literal trash! Worse than trash! Sad! We have a lot of family memories at this hotel over all these years but we won’t be back until it has been completely remodeled!

    The room was infested with ants. The elevator we were promised was broken with the buttons completely ripped out of the wall. Furniture falling apart. Breakfast Buffett was inedible. One of our keys didn’t work and when we went to have it fixed they didn’t ask for an ID, so anyone can just say they are in a room and have a key given to them? The staff was nice which is the only nice thing I can say

    The floors were so dirty and sticky your feet went black if you didn’t wear shoes. The bathroom had mold everywhere. The staff(besides the nice lady working 8/30) were awful. i could not get ahold of anyone via phone call for over 5 HOURS. 9+ phone calls and the only way i go to talk to anyone(who was no help) was but selecting make a reservation option. horrible horrible horrible for $300 a night. I paid for early check in (after 12am) and couldn’t get a room until 11:30am. The price was $50 but if we waited until 1pm , which we were close enough…. The price would have been $25 extra. Pick anywhere else but here!

    My wife and I found this Ramada back in 2017 and have stayed there everytime we take a trip to Catalina Island. The hotel is well maintained and nice pool and nice clean rooms. When we come back from Catalina, we stay again that night before heading back home in Arizona the next day. The managment had a problem with a room for another guest and asked if I would be will to change rooms before I checked in. The manager at the lobby desk have us an upgrade to a suite above the office. We also are satisfied with this hotel and go there almost yearly.

    Check-in was fast and friendly. Room and bathroom were clean but the bathroom needs some help. The grout on tile floor needs bleaching; so obvious when the tile is white and sections of the grout are black. Hook was removed from the bathroom door and a handle in the shower was so loose, we though it would just fall off. The breakfast was okay. The sausage looked like it was boiled then thrown in the chafing dish and only one toaster made for a long wait time. If you need a quick and convenient place to stay for a night or two this will do.

    I wanted an early check in, I called the day before and they said to call at 10:00 a.m. to see if there is any rooms for a early check in. There wasn't. I got there early as planned, went to the front desk asked for an early check in. They said there isn't any. Since it's a motel I saw rooms being cleaned and rooms available. This made it very inconvenient for me. I had to wait in my car for over 3 hours. I went to the front desk at least four times to ask if there's any rooms available for early check-in. They did not accommodate!

    Pros-front desk employees is only reason not 1 star, very accomodating, and that they stated under new mgt so they are working. Hotel has elevators a plus. Maybe in year or 2 see if all changed. Low $50 deposit fee which was good. Latest reviews must be employees..because doesnt add up. Hopefully, its there is intention to upgrade the housekeeping staff, kitchen, rooms. Needs update badly especially for OC hotel

    The property was close to the Newport Beach Pier. The beds were comfortable and clean. When we arrived, I was told that they didn't have any more rooms with 2 queen sized beds and that we would be upgraded. Then she made a little face like she found the original kind of room. Our room's shower had mold on the mat, mold between the shower towels, the wallpaper was pealing near the toilet with mold growing. My youngest son refused to use the shower because of how dirty it looked. When we didn't have enough towels, the front desk brought us more in under 5 minutes. The breakfast was disappointing. The eggs did not smell good. The water tasted like old tap water. We did not go to the pool.

    Pool area nice. House service polite and helpful. However, one girl during checkout Rude as hell. Needs better customer service training!!! No Thank You’s and she took in a deep breathe, when I asked for a paper receipt. Like it was too much to ask for!!! Been going here for years and first person came across so RUDE!!! Hope she gets the training or is gone next year!!!

    This hotel needs updating, the facade is looking worn, the carpets were filthy and left a coating of dirt on my feet, the breakfast was decent with the make your own waffle maker being a big hot. Location was excellent for day trips to Balboa Island . Bed was clean and comfy. One thing that did irritate me was that one afternoon they were throwing furniture from the roof right above my room, that seems kind of ghetto to me. The breakfast staff were amazing at refilling items and work really hard to take care of guests.

    The room we were in was near one that was being renovated and they were pounding loudly for a long while, making it difficult to relax. The workers were messy and loud and were throwing debris over balcony near our door and letting it crash on parking lot. The bathroom mirror had black mold and the wallpaper was peeling away. There were Bradley patched holes in the wall. This place was not what I would have expected from a reputable organization. I took pics too, but nowhere to submit here

    The staff and service are great. The property is very clean. It is , however, an older place with older furnishings,sadly in need of refreshing. My room had a faint odor of mold and backed on to 17th street, a very busy one that motorcycles like to accelerate down. It is in a great location and has a nice pool and is priced well. If you aren't looking for too much in the way of new, it should be completely acceptable.

    We have stayed at this Ramada location before. It was amazing. This time was not. Maybe the room we were assigned this trip was not remodeled or updated? There were cracks in the shower and the bathroom floor. The sink had cracks in it. The toilet made a loud, high-pitched squeak all night. If this were my first stay, I would definitely not return.

    Exercise room was only open from 9 to 9 most hotels open earlier because you want to get your workout done before you leave but yet they had people blowing the property at eight 815 830. Sunday morning breakfast 15 there was very little food no eggs, old sausages and the cereal was stale. I do have pictures if you are really interested.

    I like that it is a close drive to the beach. I like that they started a new free cont. breakfast. The problem though, is the breakfast isn’t very good! The sausage looks and smells bad and doesn’t taste good. The scrambled eggs are rubbery and no flavor! The attendant was poor attention. It needed higher quality foods and more organization.

    First thing ,the two girls up in the front desk were not friendly at all. I had to go back cause on my second day my key didn’t work.The room had a very bad smell. The floors were dirty. The wallpaper in the bathroom was falling down and the worst part is my door wouldn’t shut all the way so I had a very large gap around the door so that’s probably why I had ants in my room

    Loction was convenient and my family felt safe. But the hotel needs a lot of TLC really a complete renovation is needed. There were areas of mildew on the walls and ceilings. The stairs near our room were falling apart. One of our rooms smelled like cat pee. The worst part is our toilet stopped working and for some reason this property does not have maintenence on call so we had to plunger our own toilet this was after maintenece supposedly fixed it the day before.
