Great location, renovated rooms, helpful staff. It's great for a quick stay! Insulation isn't good. I could clearly hear the person next to us and the TV multiple nights. I think there is also a family of birds in the vents on the roof as I could hear birds chirping all night each night.

Nice and convenient location. Reasonable price. Decent size fridge. Bad smell in the room. Mattress was not secured in any way to bed so it kept sliding around. No bedside light, no plug to charge my phone close enough to the bed. Could only see the TV from one bed, but 2 beds were in the room.

The room was very clean. Clean bathroom and shower. Bed was nicely arranged. Even though there was no closet space, that did not prevent my wife and I to experience a comfortable overnight stay. No complaints. Staff was very friendly. There are many shops and restaurants to choose. A very family friendly atmosphere. I would stay there again.

The room the we had was renovated and clean which was really nice! Close the grocery store and the freeway. Everything that you probably need about 15 minutes away.

Clean room

Good enough for the price, no real concerns to stay there, wouldnt be a pick for going with a family for a holiday. Older hotel and updates to the rooms but fine to stay in for a cheap motel. Surrounding area not the greatest as will have some homeless and shady characters in the general area. There is a grocery store nearby and other services in the area.

Clean and nice staff on property. Nice spot to relax and enjoy Newport.

Nice there is daily maid service

To my surprise, the interior was as modern and as clean as the 3-star hotels I've stayed at. I messed up and lost my room card, but they were cool about it. I don't suggest pushing your luck on that, though, because it clearly states there's a $10 charge for losing your room card. It's not too bad on the exterior either; there's just normal people going about their business.

It just didn't feel like a nice neighborhood. It may have been perfectly safe, but it looked and felt pretty 'ghetto'

There were bugs in the room.

It was great place to stay for a week.

Comfortable stay.

Noisy paper thin walls. Person next to me bounced a ball against the wall allot then listened to TV all night loud couldn't sleep at all.
- 2/5
Cons: - Worst sleep I ever had: pillows hard as a rock, itchy blanket, bedding had holes in it. - Worst conditions I’ve seen: chipped paint, paint drops in various places, no closet, no towel racks, no drawers, just a few shelves that barely worked for my personal items, only one trash can in bathroom, one $50 office chair. - Staff doesn’t clean hard-to-reach places, so my dust allergies were going haywire. - Walls are thin, so even then it feels like they got decent noise insulation for windows to block the sound of traffic from outside, I definitely heard the couple next door chatting away at 4am. Pros - Staff was helpful and available - They do a daily clean, and it was clean where it mattered: bedding, floors, etc. - Great price for the area Neutral - Safety: the location feels sketchy as you drive to it and see homeless folks and some rundown buildings, although I never actually felt unsafe while there, and I think they got cameras, so take that as you will. - Wall AC unit works well, but is loud. Just typical motel AC situation. Conclusion: The sleep situation was bad enough that I’d never go back. The rest wasn’t great, but not dealbreakers, in my opinion. So if you’re a tightwad and bring your own pillow, then maybe this place could work for you.

Great place to stay and friendly staff. Very convenient location with lots of dining options near by. One of the best Motels in the area definitely recommend.

Broken window, broken sink, broken wall hunger, you can hear people next room.

This man has a very hard to understand non English foreign dialect on the phone and in person. I tried very hard to get ahold of him to add another night, he was hard to get ahold of, then was in a meeting then said he would take care of it when I came and when I got there he said he couldn't do it. Be out by 11 o'clock check out or he would call the cops. That I understood but he is in a small room behind glass with a circular vent in the middle for communicating which did not work at all, so hard to talk with him. Then I told him there were bugs, showed him some in a cup and asked if he had bedbugs and he replied they spray. I told him if I took bedbugs back to Iowa I would get kicked out of my apartment, he just said they spray. I should never have stayed there, so disppointing, at 78 I had to drag my suitcase around to find another motel for one night since I was alone and did not have a car and was here for a funeral. I feel like he was very dismissive of me as a woman. Please don't go there.
- 4/5
Close by restaurant. The man at the office was polite overall is ok. The is big enough for only 2 people.
- 1/5
My reservation was not honored, terrible experience-had no where to stay!
- 3/5
Last night got up to use bathroom turned on the light and there were roaches around the sink and microwave..Put our stuff away making sure roaches had not gotten on or in, this was at 3:00 in the morning got to bed finally then the couple next to our room got into an argument and he left slamming the door. I guess we have to be grateful it was our last night. Told the lady at checkout about the roaches and she acted as if she didn't speak any English..
- 4/5
The owners are very friendly. The inn is next to a Stater Bros for easy access groceries. I have never had any trouble finding a parking spot. Issues to be aware of are internet connection is not and the rooms are very small . I have stayed here numerous times over the years and will return again .
- 4/5
Decent short stay.. no parking and had a few broken down vehicles that took up space.. room was updated but bed was cheap
- 1/5
Roaches, wouldnt have minded the little raoch on our bed, one on desk, and walls if it didnt wreak in the room as soon as you open the door bruh. Yall fr gotta fire whoever cleaning for you.

- 5/5
Hotel room was pretty big loved it. The only downfall was the beds were smaller than I thought. I booked a room with a queen size bed, but it felt/ looked like it was a full size bed rather than a queen
- 1/5
Bad cs
- 5/5
Affordable and location.
- 4/5
It was clean and adequately appointed for a budget motel. Everything worked (toilet, sink, lights, TV, etc.). No frills but adequate for a brief stay where all I did was return each night for sleep.
- 1/5
Bed mattress very uncomfortable. Not enough blankets. No coffee available, no cups you could use to heat up water/coffee. Very sparse amenities.
- 3/5
I guess the bad smell and the room condition are what will you get when you try to shop for a budget overnight stay. But my wife and I have decided never to low ball again. The room had that cigarette smoke plus perfume smell which is pretty off-putting, the sink was majorly cracked. In two different directions I'm not even sure if it's dripping down underneath. And almost all the furniture is chipped and worn, and the leather chair to sit there is cracked very badly. The air conditioner didn't have a fresh air mode so we kind of just had to suffer through the smell all night with the fan on.
- 3/5
I was in town for a night & wanted to only have a place to sleep. While the bed was comfortable & the parking easy, my neighbors were loud & there was a bug on the counter. The staff was nice. Not bad but not great. Worth the $97.
- 2/5
There’s a lot wrong with this property
- 5/5
It was pleasantly quiet on a saturday night.
- 1/5
The room was dirty from the walls to the door and floors, terrible smell, roaches, and a running toilet. The door lock was taped to the door with scotch tape. Stayed 20 and for a diff hotel.
- 3/5
This place was Ok for just needing a place to stay after a late flight and early departure the next day but wouldn’t recommend it for more than that.
- 3/5
The toilet ran the entire time which is very annoying. It's a bit sketchy in the neighborhood. If you need a cheap place, it will work. It was clean enough. The walls in the bathroom were dirty.
- 1/5
The staff was so rude and mean, I didnt even stay there.
- 1/5
Run down motel in bad area. Walls extremely thin. You can hear absolutely everything through the walls. Just terrible.
- 3/5
I got what I paid for. Room was clean, bed was clean, room needed som tlc.Lots of road noises. Manager was was very nice!
- 1/5
The hotel room was absolutely unacceptable in terms of cleanliness. It reeked of urine as soon as you stepped into the room. The floor didn't seem like it was mopped or swept because I could see debris and hair everywhere we hadn't even been. The horror didn't end there. Once in the bathroom, the walls were filthy. They were spattered in what looked like blood or who knows what other disgusting substances it could have been. The shower curtain was covered in something as well, seeming as if no one had even bothered to change it from the previous guest. I wasn't expecting much considering how cheap I booked the room for but I was hoping that it would at least be clean. Needless to say I checked out the same day I checked, got no refund, and when I complained about why I could not stay in the room, the only response I got was that next time they would make sure to give me a better room and that they would tell housekeeping to clean better. Disappointed would be putting it lightly. I wouldn't stay here again if they paid me. Save your money and go somewhere better.
- 3/5
Good price
- 4/5
Quaint and comfortable
- 3/5
They do only the bare essentials when cleaning the rooms. There was only channel on our TV. When I asked him if He could fix it, he replied, the satellite doesn"t work very good! They have a small ice machine but there was only about 2 small cubes per room.
- 2/5
Confused people knocking on doors all night. Front door sticks. Odor. Bath door damaged and wouldn't close. Damage Toilet flush handle. No USB outlet. Had to back out of property to exit.
- 5/5
The rooms are very clean and orderly and is walking distance to Stater Bros. The managers are very cordial and approachable and just very nice people. I would recommend Newport Bay Inn to my friends and family...
- 4/5
The outside definitely says inn but the inside is quite nice. Sometimes you need to look past the fact that it's a dinky inn right next to the freeway and get inside to see it's quite nice.
- 1/5
This was the worst hotel I have ever been to. Absolutely one of the most disgusting and smelly rooms I’ve ever been. The smell was so bad I only lasted about 20 minutes before I decided to leave and book another hotel. Blood stains on the bed, floor, and towels. Place was surrounded with homeless and drug addicts hanging out with in the hotel property. When I asked to check out and get a refund for not staying the desk attendant just acted like he couldn’t understand me until I just decided to leave.
- 4/5
Like the location, it has refrigerator and microwave. It had a great shower.
- 2/5
I was charged more for my room, than my guaranteed price. The bed was hard as a rock. The "ice machine", was a leaking ice maker that was out back with the dumpster. The property was not a hotel or motel, but actually long term rentals. A homeless person was living in the dumpster area. No security was provided for the parking area. Not even a camera. The refrigerator kept food cold, but the freezer barely worked. The bedspread was not only stained but also had what appeared to be animal hair on it. The floors appeared to have never been moped. My socks were black from walking in the room with no shoes on.
- 2/5
not happy with the room condition or cleanliness.
- 1/5
We had to go over everything and clean and disinfect because the maids did a horrible job. Given the fact is coronavirus going on do you think that people would keep the rooms really clean.Whenever all the services with Lysol disinfectant wipes and clean the floor.
- 1/5
Where is trip I've ever had I think I called the front desk and look for the maid or anybody that could offer me a towel and maybe some shampoo and so could be nice there's absolutely no shampoo no soap no lotion or conditioner nothing to wash your hands put in your hair brush your teeth solution line conditioner here body is so hand soap hand sanitizer or towels in the pink I guess they think I was going to wash my body with just water and then dry my body with the only thing that was in that whole hotel was a roll of toilet paper and some cockroaches damn man I think it made that saw jaywalking and doing drug deals across the street she dipped out and never came back for two days I almost had a mug somebody to get a talk to this place don't go here
- 1/5
Ridiculous place disgusting
- 4/5
Great place, one way streets were a pain but overall great experience
- 1/5
Not good the room had a smell to bed felt like a 2 x 4 just uncomfortable
- 1/5
It smells and is very getto. The sheets and bedding had stains. Gross
- 5/5
I checked in this hotel after losing $229.00 from a horrible booking on pricline. It was a dangerous area and drug infested. I left immediately arriving here it was like paradise. I will definitely stay again. Clean and comfortable and most of all safe.
- 5/5
This is our 3er time stay and it is very good excellent staff and rooms are very clean
- 4/5
very quiet no trouble I had visitors the whole time was very discrete n friendly just very small. next time when I'm not performing ill stay again n needs a pool but nice.ty
- 5/5
Clean and nice very confused why I have to submit this
- 3/5
Our check-in was easy and staff friendly. Our room looked clean and had a very strong cleaning supply odor. When that smell wore off it smelled of urine. It was ok for the price, but I will choose another place next time.
- 1/5
My reservation was cancelled due to the hotel over booking the property during our stay.
- 4/5
Basic, but nice motel. Perfect location. Walls could need improvement, could hear the neighbors turn on the shower at 7am.
- 3/5
Great location, room was sketchy. Friendly check in and as mentioned convient location. Room had graffiti near the sink area and burn marks in multiple spots of the linens. Walls needed a good scrub down to wash away the mystery stains.
- 1/5
Horrible rude guy canceled our reservation last minute to give to someone else
- 4/5
Very clean. Thin walls and the people next to me were fighting and I only got 4 hours sleep. Not too happy about that.
- 1/5
I will never stay at this hotel again. The room was dirty and gross, bed was uncomfortable, pillows were uncomfortable, horrible water pressure in the shower, virtually no amenities, rude front office staff, horrible parking, and more.
- 5/5
There wasn’t a lot of parking, the spots were very tight to fit a suburban which is what I was driving
- 5/5
Plus a supermarket next door!
- 2/5
Property was ok for the price and staff were very friendly but I asked to be put in a non-smoking room which was labeled non-smoking but still had obviously been smoked in and I also asked for staff to not do the daily room service because I don't appreciate my things getting moved around yet they still came in and "cleaned" mixing my dirty and clean laundry together which just drives me insane.
- 1/5
Do no stay here
- 5/5
I liked the wood floors and how clean the place was.
- 1/5
Worst property ever. Property owner was asleep in his room when we got there, after waiting 10 minutes for him to get to the window he told us to leave and to let him sleep because there was no vacancy even though we had paid for our room already. Finds out he just couldn’t read and find out names on the list. Found another spot down the street for cheaper and service was 10x better.
- 1/5
Got call 1am saying to bring r smoke detector to office we didn’t cuz it sounded funny was too scared whole night!!!couldnt sleep
- 2/5
I don't have much good to say about this place other than it was a place to sleep. The bed was hard and didn't have a fitted sheet. It had two super thin pillows that were disgusting. The shower looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a very long time...it had very little water pressure, a half melted shower curtain that had some black stuff running down it, I couldn't tell if it was mold or someone had dyed their hair in there (either way gross!). The fire alarm went off in the middle of the night for no reason. Do yourself a favor and pay a little extra to stay somewhere else.
- 2/5
First issue was, I got a notification that my card declined through the Expedia app from the hotel and that I had two hours to pay or my hotel would be canceled. Had I not happen to open my email, I would have never known. There was no issue with my card and I selected the pay when you get there option. Still no clarity on why my card was being charged. The rooms weren't bad at all however, there were no fitted sheets on either bed, just a regular sheet drapped over. My biggest issue and not the hotel's fault but the guest next to us.On both days they were partying in the room next to till sunup. Which was a shock because it was a much older crowd. I felt they might get tired at some point. Much to my surprise, they did not. The noise carried. It sounded like we were literally in the same room. On day two of the party, I notifyed the front desk at 2am to just ask them to keep it down. They did nothing. We did not sleep either if the two nights we stayed there. It was a miserable stay for that reason alone. Other than that nightly price was low and you get what you pay for.
- 3/5
Their were some noisy people staying there which made it not the best place if you’re looking to get a good nights sleep.
- 5/5
Very friendly staff. Nice location! Will be visiting again.
- 4/5
good, simple room. clean. had a small fridge and microwave.
- 5/5
It's always nice here for a low budget hotel it's just one of the best
- 3/5
The walls are paper thin. I could hear the conversation next door to us word for word. The gentleman that checked us in was lovely though.
- 5/5
I was very surprised by this place. The front desk dude was super cool and understanding and i just love how quiet and homelike it feels
- 3/5
Just needed a place to sleep
- 5/5
It was a great experience and the customer service was very friendly
- 2/5
I had ask for a none smoking room and they gave me a smoke room
- 2/5
The exterior building lights were so bright that - even with the curtains closed - the room was still so illuminated, you could write a letter. As in... with a quill. It didn't help that some of the room lights could be dimmed, but not completely turned off.
- 3/5
Spartan room, bad lighting, smoke alarm went off both nights, no wash cloths. Not recommended for families or children but perfect as a flop house.
- 3/5
The lighting in the bathroom is terrible. Ladies, bring a mirror and do your makeup by the window. And there is not a full length mirror anywhere. My husband said he could hear the traffic from the freeway, so if you are a light sleeper bring your earplugs. The room was clean when we arrived and the bed was comfortable. So if you are just looking for a place to lay your head it works.
- 4/5
Other than the shower just having cold water, the stay was great
