Reviews
The hotel is generally praised for its cleanliness, comfortable rooms, and friendly staff. However, there are frequent complaints about the high cost and inconvenience of parking, as well as issues with the air conditioning and shower in some rooms.

We had a nice time spending 2 nights and will definitely book in this hotel on our next trip. The staff especially Juanito our parking attendant and the bell boy who brought up our luggages were both very courteous and welcoming. We also had our dinner at the restaurant there on our first night. The food was great and the ambience was nice and cozy.

Discretions i was satisfied

Make sure to read about the property and the fees for parking, was surprised at check in that the property charges $45 a day to park and the parking garage are very small parking spots. Instead of holding a deposit they charge you $75 a day and your charges up front not just a hold on your card.
- 3/5
The hotel was in a convenient area for the event I was attending, but there were some practices I thought were strange. They charged me upfront for the room plus the deposit. The first front desk clerk did not do a good job of explaining why, and when I checked out, a second clerk told me he was charging my account again. When I questioned it, as I was told when I checked in I was paying up front, he got snooty and told me that was only the deposit. I replied why I would pay the full room amount AND a deposit, to which he replied that was the Hilton way. If this is the case, I would not choose to stay at a Hilton property again, as I have never been charged more than a typical deposit.

This hotel was deplorable. We had a theft in our room and they did absolutely nothing about it. Do not stay here.

Always enjoy our stay!

Hard to find car in parking structure.
- 5/5
The staff was excellent, the room was clean. The property was fantastic. Customer Service at property was one of the best I’ve experienced in a long time. I love the room as it had a balcony you can open which is a very unique feature. But overall, I highly recommend this place. I will save this location as my go to spot.
- 4/5
The self parking price is way too expensive
- 3/5
Leaky fixer in our restroom. Beds were comfortable! Balcony was nice! Pool and spa were nice but a little dirty. Parking was terrible. Paid $50 per night to not have a place to park my oversized truck and trailer. Staff at front desk seemed like we were an inconvenience when checking in.
- 5/5
Staff was friendly. $49 per night parking is a bit of a scam though.
- 5/5
Perfect place to stay at I loved the service and experience here! Was my first time and I loved all that they have to offer! Totally recommend this place!
- 1/5
Alcohol anonymous conference—hotel filled with smokers (nonsmoking room was potent); sinks plugged, Luke warm water to shower and room 3335 was haunted. Experienced ghost encounter and were catholic and never experienced anything like this before. Will not return ever again!
- 5/5
I always love coming here with my man. I love that there's amazing Asian market right across the street and there's really good restaurants walking distance. The pool is my favorite and so beautiful
- 5/5
It was a great stay we will definitely be back
- 2/5
The rooms were very, very dark and in need of complete remodel. The parking is $45 a night. No coffee in common rooms. No complementary breakfast.
- 5/5
Great customer service, Clean pool, Great room would recommend
- 5/5
A beautiful hotel that is perfectly located for any events in the area. Our room was stunning!
- 5/5
Very friendly staff. Great location with lots to walk to nearby. Room was clean and the bed was fairly comfortable. Parking was a bit costly as I had to pay $20 just to park for an hour. Still a good value for the room cost. Would likely stay again.
- 0.5/5
Bad
- 3/5
Heater & TV didn’t work. No one answers the front desk line for help. Stiff pulling shower knob probably not a good idea for room for folks needing easy access to hot water. Missed having a full length mirror in the room. Pillows were awful for the neck. Restaurant staff was very nice. Food is adequate. Liked their old menu options better. Handicap button on B1 didn’t work, but B2 worked fine.
- 3/5
$45 per day fro parking, really high. Service in restraunt was terrible, we were only one's there had to flag down waitress twice through someone else, had to get up and take bill off counter, waitress busy talking with co-worker needless to say we left no tip. No waters in room, had to purchase, realyy expensive small market waters $8 to $12 per bottle, stayed at many Hilton's this is first one we felt was nickle & dime you for everything. Good location, room was ok, bed nice but dark lighting. Would not stay here again
- 2/5
Not convenient at parking place
- 1/5
For the price you’d think they’d at least have complimentary fking breakfast lmaoooo nope but here’s a $35 buffet you can try. And btw parking is 45 dollars a night!!!! The staff there were also a bit rude and sarcastic and the room I thought could’ve been nicer for the price we paid. What a joke Hilton.
- 2/5
Room was dirty dust everywhere. They did not clean our room after the first night. Night what we expected.

Good location. Cant shut light off in bathroom. Kinda weird. Pool is okay.
- 5/5
The airport shuttle was on time, however there was only 9 seats on the shuttle and about 13 of us. I had to order an uber.

Shuttle was easy to find and on time. Did not eat breakfast. But wish I did.

- 5/5
Very comfortable and clean.
- 5/5
Other points: Loved the little bags of ice instead of the rickety machines that most hotels offer. Best hotel shower I've had in years! I wish we'd have stayed more than a night. However, i think we found our go-to whenever we come back to the city!
- 5/5
I travel every month and stay at the Hilton hotel every time. Great hotel, great location and safe parking. Very clean and excellent staff, service and food.
- 3/5
Remote controls dont work well, clocks are always wrong with no way to change them, ice melts in the fridge (no ice machines they give ice), garage elevator was broken, smelled like Marijuana on our floor, painted over damage in the shower that was leaking, which makes me worried about mold. Staff is nice and beds are comfortable.
- 4/5
I feel that $45 to self park for 1 night is outrageous. Valet service was only available during the day. Breakfast menu was also pricey ($25 for 2 eggs and potatoes, another $10 for a side of bacon)
- 5/5
Hotel room was clean
- 1/5
Extremely poor service. Gave us a downgraded room and expected us to be okay with it. Told us rooms were subject to availability even though we booked the room about a month in advance. The two front desk employees were unapologetic, inhospitable and rude.

Front desk staff was wonderful, very friendly and service oriented. Streaming service on tv and comfortable bed. Great location close to airport. Ancillary charges like $45 parking and no free water ($2.50/very basic brand bottle). Thermostat screen didn't work properly and het was very drying. Called for toothpaste & blanket and she only brought toothpaste, said she'd come back but after a long wait had to call again and when she came back she said she was on break. A few hairs n bathroom floor/shower.

Checked in at night I had reservations. The staff was friendly, professional and helpful. Easy breezy check in. I used the parking structure which was fine, all worked seamlessly using parking card. My room was perfection, spotless clean! The bed was very welcoming! Clean white crisp duvet & sheets:) Very comfortable, slept wonderfully. I did not have breakfast. Check out was easy breezy. Highly recommend. Would definitely go back!

Everything was great!
- 3/5
Property was easy to drive to. Room was clean. I didn't realize there was a $45 fee PER DAY! for parking. The Clerk said it was Expedia not including it as a fee. The Clerk was very kind and did reduce the fee to $20 per day. Still - I would have stayed somewhere else had I known about the parking fee -somewhere that included breakfast.
- 5/5
Great restaurant staff, cleaning staff. Airport shuttle was great perk. Very enjoyable stay
- 5/5
nice staff. Not too happy with the parking fee of $45.00 per night!!

- 4/5
This was our families 2nd time staying here and we love it and plan on returning often. Loved the Starbucks, the barista during our stay was lovely everytime. My only complaint is that we called the front desk asking for new towels and they never came, but that’s such a small issue and the hotel stay itself makes up for minor inconveniences in my opinion. Great place for families, even with small children.
- 4/5
Great
- 3/5
We have LOVED this property. However on this visit a few things were lacking: 1) hot tub was out of service the whole 5 nights we stayed; 2) breakfast buffet is overpriced for what is offered, we went one morning then opted for other local options for the rest of the days; 3) there was a jackhammer on the surrounding streets that woke us on two mornings. This is not the fault of Hilton. But it sucks to be awakened like this on vacation at 8:00am. I did let the front desk know about my dissatisfaction about the hot tub and jackhammer on day 1-- nothing. No compensation, little compassion, not a good look folks. However, upon check out I was comped 1 day of parking for these troubles. Fair? You decide. As parking is seriously exorbitant now at $45 per night...damn. c'mon Hilton. I want to come back 😭

Room was good however even after charging a premium for the room everything else comes at a cost, parking, wifi even though the site I booked through advertised free wifi-staff advised free wired internet-who travels with a Lan cable & I could not see a connection point in the room anyway. breakfast, I guess its hard to charge extra when already charging a premium rate. They would not "loan" the baggage trolley out, Hot water took about 10 minutes to come through-not an exaggeration, black out curtains did not fully close. I get all this for free staying somewhere for 1/3 the cost.

- 1/5
Very bad experience
- 1/5
Room was smelled so bad, dirt room and bathroom. Shower is so old, wooden furniture is chipped. Never ever going to stay there and would not recommend to anyone. Their Valet service was not available though hotel didn’t even have much guests.
- 2/5
Staff wasn’t the friendly, signs mention pick your room and floor and was not offered to me at all. Put me in an old room furthest from the elevator with a concrete wall as my view. Only stayed one less then 24 hours
- 5/5
The professionalism and the attentative of the staff , made my experience a most welcoming one.
- 3/5
Disappointing
- 5/5
Great spot close to the airport. Easy pick up and drop off
- 5/5
I felt very safe at the property and my breakfast was excellent
- 4/5
Close to family& friends. Excellent staff. Little noisy with kids running around& playing with elevators from floor to floor. But, they weren’t vandalizing anything. Just racing each other & having fun. :) Restaurant had good food, but extremely well air conditioned. Advisable to have a jacket. Starbucks espresso machine was broken, so couldn’t get anything. Impossible to contact hotel in a hurry to report possible security incidents. Front desk just says they don’t know how to get security& you have to reach directly, which is hard to do while driving on the freeway. But, overall, we had a great time!
- 5/5
Great stay !

Bathroom should have grab bars on the wall for senior patients w/ balance issues for safety. Why there’s not even a microwave? The shower faucet was very new but quite complicated to operate. Why not make it simple and easy to use? I would rate it a 7/10. I would still book here…
- 5/5
Great room, secure parking and entrance. Starbucks is amazing
- 1/5
The whole place smelled of weed even in my room, it was coming in through the vent and no windows to open. I was coughing all night even though I changed rooms or was the same in both rooms.
- 3/5
There were ants
- 5/5
Very clean and quiet
- 5/5
Amazing experience with a unique elevator
- 3/5
Liked the convenience of the property, about 15 min from the beach. A great staff accommodated us so well. We had an ant problem in our room and they moved us to a better room.
- 5/5
I didn’t like that I had to pay $45/ nightly parking. I really liked everything else
- 4/5
45 dollar a night parking is way out of line.
- 5/5
Excellent customer service
- 5/5
The front desk associate Jacob was excellent and very friendly. Loved the linen and pillows. Great parking situation but a little pricey.
- 2/5
There was no valet and my mother is 90 years old. Also no one to help us with our luggage and a long walk to our room. Also, upon arrival we were charged $45 for parking. I think it should’ve been waved since you had no valet. We will not stay there again.
- 3/5
On the positive side, the concierge was extremely nice and helpful. It was also near shopping areas and restaurants.
- 4/5
Only the 7th floor is remodeled so we got a room that had the old model. Thankfully everything was clean, the ac seemed to turn off on its own during the night. The parking fee is ridiculously expensive & it’s hard to find parking at night.
- 5/5
Customer service was great and was a clean location
- 5/5
Great hotel and staff!
- 3/5
The room smelled like smoke. The bed had a dip in it. The phone didn't work.
- 5/5
Beautiful place
- 3/5
A recurring problem was the inability to reach the front desk by phone, forcing us to wait in line for every request. Our room's broken toilet handle was initially repaired, but it broke again, leaving the toilet unusable overnight as we couldn't get a second repair, forcing us to use the lobby bathroom. The facilities were a major disappointment. The pool was dirty with debris and dangerously overheated, and towels were never supplied. The jacuzzi was also scalding hot, rendering it unusable, even after being briefly shut down. A broken pool ladder was a significant safety hazard, causing my girlfriend to slip and cut her finger, which staff provided aid for but was concerningly left unrepaired. The understaffing was highlighted when a single front desk agent had to manage a violent guest in the lobby, requiring a police response. While the agent handled it well, the incident demonstrated that no other guests could be helped during the emergency, underscoring the severe understaffing. Overall, despite the staff's professionalism, operational and maintenance failures made for a disappointing and unsafe stay.

I like my room, it was quiet and clean. The parking garage was huge and it took me a while to find parking the 1st night...no valet parking available that day.
- 5/5
I've stayed here many times. Love the airport shuttle and Starbucks inside. Plus friendly staff and restaurant.
- 5/5
Close to good restaurants where one can walk easily.
- 5/5
The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. My kids made a fort with blankets and the cleaning staff left that standing and made our beds with new bedding. It was great. Rico was very kind, always with a joke or a trick when we had breakfast. Breakfast was great! Only small critique is the main big pool felt like a hot tub. Otherwise, would recommend!
- 5/5
Great staff and pleasant atmosphere.
- 5/5
Friendly staff and a safe environment.
- 1/5
Old and smells bad.
- 5/5
The rooms were clean and the service was great. I didn’t realize they charge an additional $40/night for parking which was unfortunate. Overall, I’m glad we chose this hotel.
- 5/5
Hilton Orange County/Costa Mesa is a very nice hotel. The room is elegant compared to most other hotel rooms I’ve stayed in lately, especially for the price. Starbucks inside the lobby is a big plus! The gym is clean and the parking is very convenient.
- 5/5
Coffee pot dirty but was replaced with a new one. Excellent staff.
- 5/5
Nice hotel
- 5/5
Great place to stay. Clean and safe.
- 3/5
Peaungreia in the front was very rude! She had a very bad attitude with her own staff and with her customers. I had the worst experience with her did not feel welcoming.
- 5/5
Great property, location and staff. A newer bathtub would’ve made it perfect.
- 4/5
Has a very nice heated pool and jacuzzi. Staff are friendly and helpful. Good place for wedding and convention. Lots of restaurants near the hotel. Shuttle to airport is on time and fast. Rooms feel old and outdated, somewhat smelly, but otherwise everything is functional. Elevators are a bit slow and confusing.
- 4/5
Overall nice hotel. Staff is great. Parking garage should be power washed. Room wall paper wheeling off near window
- 5/5
The hotel was in a great location. Food to the right beach to the left. Close to everything you need.
- 5/5
Absolutely nice
- 1/5
This probably was the The worst Hotel and the Extremely Large Fee For Parking!!!! Worst Hotel I’ve Stayed in Costa Mesa!!!!
- 3/5
Front desk staff was friendly. Parking was super inconvenient and there is no valet service. Bell service is only available during the day and our bellman at checkout was great. In-room dining staff could be friendlier. Pool is good.
- 1/5
Honestly the worst experience I have ever had! I already booked and paid for this trip I’m advance with Expedia. When I checked in at the hotel I was charged $1,083 because they didn’t pay attention that I already had the booking with Expedia, they weren’t able to refund my money so now I have to wait 10 business days for my bank to dispute the charge. 4 days later we are checking out and the hotel charges me another $761 on top of the $1083 they already “accidentally” charged me! So all together this hotel mistakenly charged me $1,844!!! That is absolutely insane! The hotel said they were unable to stop the charges and I just had to call my bank, so now I have to wait 10 business days to get my money back. I’m just so blown away how I accidentally get charged all this money. It has been the worst experience ever! We came out to celebrate my daughter’s birthday and to be charged all this money “accidentally” it’s just insane! I wouldn’t recommend staying at this hotel to anyone
- 5/5
Our receptionist was very dry and unwelcoming, not friendly at all. Did not smile once. We waiting in line to check in for about 8 minutes as there was only one clerk. A 2nd line started forming as it was confusing to see where the line started. Then a 2nd clerk came in (the one I am referring to). She didn’t ask who was next and just took the other guest even though we were already waiting. It was fine it happens, but again, when she finally helped us she was very dry, not mean or rude, just not welcoming. My son even tried to break the ice because he asked if the decorations on the wall were lilies and she turned around and said “um, yeah”. No friendly conversation, no smile, just very dry. Maybe she was having a bad day, we all do. But it left a negative taste in our mouth. Luckily our stay was overall positive and fun. Pool was great.
- 4/5
Very clean. Little problem with shower knob.
- 5/5

- 4/5
Large Facility, welcoming lobby and staff. Rooms are very outdated. Finishes in need of updates through the hotel.
- 2/5
Additionally, the accessible bathroom did not have a roll-in shower. We had to request a shower chair, and two people had to lift our child into the bathtub to sit on the chair and shower. The space was extremely limited in the tub and unsafe.

The staff is amazing
- 5/5
I feel this property was high-quality especially for the price we paid for the weekend. Other properties in the area for the weekend we’re starting around $400 a night. There was no microwave in the room, which was a first for me, but there was one down in the lobby at the convenience store. And they had free bags of ice also in the convenient store no ice machines were on the floors . That wasn’t terrible just different from other places I’ve stayed. Staff was great rooms were clean. Nice bar in the lobby. If you check in on social media, they give you a percentage off your bill at the bar . Which was nice . Not too far from the beach but u do have to drive . Love this property would definitely stay again.
- 5/5
Everyone was so kind and helpful had a great stay!
- 5/5
Parking was a bit expensive, had to park a mile away and walk to the hotel, not too bad though
- 4/5
I enjoyed my stay at this property and would probably stay again. My dissatisfaction with the stay was housekeeping. My room/bathroom was not properly cleaned throughout my 6 day stay, one day when I returned my bed was not completely made and several days towels were not sufficiently replenished. The manager was apologetic but for a hotel of this stature and for the price of the rooms, it is unacceptable having to report this several times during my stay.
- 5/5
Very large property, staff were very helpful. They had lots of options for snacks and a restaurant
- 4/5
Didnt have my balcony until i mentioned it after check in.. .and my shower was difficult to keep the cold water on
- 4/5
The only problem I had was the shampoo dispenser was empty it would have been nice to have it as courtesy to be refilled
- 5/5
Very nice clean hotel… The staffs are supper nice ! Definitely will come come back.
- 5/5
Close to a lot of restuarants and just a short ride to the beach. Perfect location and a great pool
- 5/5
Very clean and well maintained property. Staff were constantly cleaning the property and taking great care of the hotel. Pool and jacuzzi were super nice and clean as well. Restaurant has amazing brick oven pizzas, so good and decently priced. I only wish they offered a continental breakfast as well with the stay as we were there 5 nights. $45 a day for parking was not great either. Zero complaints about the hotel and staff.
- 4/5
I appreciate the attentiveness. The hotel must be fully booked. Hard to find parking.
- 5/5
This hotel is in a great location and the staff is always excellent. We love staying here!
- 1/5
Staff did not inform me of the $45 parking charge and I was not informed that staff would come in my room after 3 PM with a privacy sign on the door. There is no ice machine and the room was extremely dirty, previous customers belongings left on the floor, fridge not cleaned out and bathroom fixtures not cleaned in a long time. Moldy smell throughout and no fan in the bathroom. No notepads or pens. Ironing board made terrible squealing noise. The worst was the bad bed frame. It was damaged extensively upon arrival and made a considerable about of noise making the experience uncomfortable and embarrassing.
- 2/5
Pool was hot, like heated hot. Weather was 90 degrees and pool was hot . This picture of tub is after it was drained.
- 5/5
Clean and comfortable
- 1/5
They cancelled my flight I could not make and I called the day off and a front desk clerk answered reassured me it will not be cancelled only to land the next day find out it was cancelled still waiting for my refund
- 4/5
Good
- 4/5
Property is quite dated, the air conditioner in the room wasn't super effective. The location is good, and the lobby is beautiful. The one staff interaction I had was lovely. I enjoyed the fireworks from my balcony. This was part of a 7-night, 4-hotel trip for me, and by far both the most expensive and worst value on the dollar. I have stayed here before because they offer the PureAir rooms and I have severe fragrance allergies, but in the future I'm going to stay at Hampton Inns because they are more affordable and work for my needs.
- 5/5
I was not expecting a non continental breakfast hotel.
- 5/5
We were disappointed because hotels.com said we were in walking distance to a beautiful beach and there was no beach at all in the area .
- 5/5
Great place to take the family. The pool was heated. We all had a blast.

The room was filthy. The floor had burn marks all over the carpet, black mold in the bathroom, the base of the wall and floor were coming apart, and a dirty syringe was left behind in the bathroom! The cleaning lady walked into our occupied room unannounced, and last, but not least, had to notify the front desk of another out of control guest who made sexually explicit statements and verbally harrassed my friend inches from his face.

Property was older but well maintained; service personnel were polite, professional and responsive. Location was excellent, within walking distance of many amenities including restaurants, shopping mall and cultural destinations.

Not sure if they are understaffed but we had several issues when it can to service. One being we had four people checked in and only three bath towels. When we called to have extra towels we were told okay. After several minutes of waiting to take a shower we called again and we were asked to come to the front desk if we wanted a towel. Also ice was another issue if we wanted ice we were asked to come to the front desk. So basically if you needed something expect to get it your self.

Excellent hotel!

This hotel is really nice and comfortable the staff was so friendly. The reason I gave it 4 stars overall is because the room we were in was a little dark. They need to maybe add an extra lamp.

This looks like the type of hotel that was considered luxurious in its heyday but has since become decrepit. The HVAC and plumbing are a disaster. You can’t control the temperature in your room. For me it was either air conditioning on or off. I overheard several other guests complain to the front desk during my stay that they had temperature issues too and the staff would always say “we’ll send an engineer to look at it.” Also, both nights of my trip the bathroom sink backed up and left behind a bunch of disgusting gunk from the pipes. This was not caused by anything I did. I returned to my room each evening after spending the day away and found gunk in bathroom sink. The first night an engineer came and poured some drain-o to fix it. But it came back the following night. Also the bathtub didn’t drain well. This building needs a major renovation.
