Awesome breakfast, very tasty. Servers were very good.

This is my new go-to place for when I visit Coronado. It's small, beautifully kept, and the staff is outstanding--personable and really helpful. The bed was so comfortable and the bedding was lovely. I loved how I could not hear the ac running. Additionally, the hotel in general was also really quiet--I never heard my neighbors next door--and it is located in a quiet yet very convenient location. I also appreciated that this small hotel was very secure--you need your room key to access the building. Lastly, breakfast was always great and the staff will work with you if you have any food allergies. Loved this place and will be back.

Breakfast was awesome. The room was cleaned but there was one day it was not cleaned when questioned about it one of the staff members questioned my word. Totally unacceptable. We were there for an extended 6 day night. A shout out for Itze and Elizabeth who took good care of us.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast each morning was delicious, and it was a real pleasure to enjoy it in their garden. The evening happy hour was very nice as well. The rooms are very spacious, clean, and well decorated, and the property is in a very nice and quiet location. I highly recommend the 1906 Lodge!

The only problem was that that bed was too soft and I sank the whole night; the next day; I had a lower back pain.

My only complaint was the breakfast. I thought it would be a self serve type situation. It was a fixed menu. I am Vegan, and there really was nothing I could eat other than cereal with OAT milk. No protein in that! The first morning had a salad and potatoes, second morning had nothing I could eat. How about at least a bagel and peanut butter? Considering breakfast out is expensive, this was part of what we were paying for. Other than that, the place was lovely. Location was perfect. Very quiet. A Happy hour each day was included. Staff were very nice.

Super cute place and a real at home experience that is elevated. Nesttled just inside the residential area across from the Del, the location allows you to feel like a local due to the proximity to downtown and all the shops being within walking distance. Breakfast was amazing and so is the bed.

This hotel was amazing! We had an amazing time! There was complimentary breakfast made by the innkeepers and mimosas and happy hour in the afternoon. It was all amazing and everyone was so so helpful!

Such a a good place to stay, walkable to everything. All the amenities are great especially happy hour and breakfast! Would definitely stay again!!

The property is beautiful, the garden is truly award winning! We stayed in the Country Club ' room, in the newer section, right if the court yard. It has it's own small patio!I loved the breakfasts (they do have one choice provided, our cereal) and the happy hours, we felt so pampered!! Staff was friendly, room was well appointed. Bathroom was large, we used the large tub altho the jets did not seem to function. I will say the mattress was a bit lumpy and affected my sleep, but that's really the only coupke of minor things we noticed. I would love to come back and stay again.

Breakfast menu was fresh, just the right amount, served in a delightful setting. Coffee was very good & ready at 6:45 am. The staff was very attentive and courteous. The room was clean and comfortable- great bed, sheets and pillows. Also- it was very quiet at night. I slept the whole night through all 4 nights we were there. That never happens! Such a lovely place.

I now understand all the five star reviews! This place is wonderful. Tucked away from the hustle and bustle, nice and quiet yet still just around the corner from all the action. Their breakfast and happy hour go well beyond your typical hotel experience, and the amenities (namely free bike usage, boogie boards etc) are a bonus. The room was adorable, super clean and smelled amazing. Walking distance to the beach, just perfect. We’ll be back ❤️

However, the transaction was abruptly interrupted by another individual who appeared to be associated with the event or may have been staff who stopped the process. This interaction made me feel unwelcome and as though I did not belong in the space. I’m not certain of this individual’s role, but the experience was disappointing and detracted from an otherwise positive visit. I hope this can be addressed to ensure all guests feel respected and accommodated moving forward.

What a wonderful place to stay. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The lodge is beautiful and well appointed. Breakfast is absolutely delicious and the late afternoon snacks were such a delight. I would recommend staying here, close to everything you need and very personalized service. Very relaxing atmosphere.

It felt like 5-stars, but more like home.

Place is beautiful! It was quiet when I was there too. My room had a fireplace which was a beautiful detail. Breakfast was nice and tasty and the coffee availability is great. Can’t wait to be back!

Themed rooms, a lovely garden with fountain, old school charm and hospitality. Complimentary Happy hour 4-5 and breakfast from 8-9:30 everyday. Highly recommend.

The 1906 Lodge was the cleanest, nicest, and most amazing stay I’ve had anywhere. The staff is amazing and make you feel they are there just for you! I will stay here everytime I visit San Diego. I wouldn’t change anything about the hotel. I recommend the 1906 Lodge to everyone.

Everything was amazing! The location was a very short walking distance to shopping, restaurants and the beach. The complimentary breakfast was super yummy especially the mimosas. It was a very clean, quiet, relaxing weekend celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary! I would totally recommend this place to all my friends and family and we look forward to staying here again.

This is our second stay at the 1906 Lodge. So many things to love about this place; location, staff, comfort, etc. This is our go to location in San Diego/Coronado.

The breakfast was top notch delicious! (So was the happy hour) The staff was amazing. The bed was a bit hard and there weren’t really places to put your luggage.

This was our 2nd time staying. Our first time could not have been better! This 2nd stay was not nearly as "quality". The breakfast and happy hour wasn't as high quality, it also seemed like we and other guests found ourselves waiting for staff to come back from the kitchen for us to be able to get things like a napkin, a plate to eat our apps over, a 2nd beverage, coffee, etc. But the real sour grapes for us was that we ALWAYS make a point to collect towels, any trash, & ensure decorative pillows are placed on a chair vs the floor, etc. to not leave added work to the maid service staff. However, we brought a left over taco back to the room with us the first night. It was after front desk hours so no way to obtain a napkin so we used a hand towel to place under us to protect the linens. Some sauce spilled out onto the hand-towel and we also used it to wipe our lips. Long story short, when I received our Credit Card statement we discovered a $25 charge on our card with no notice to us.. When we called we were told it was for that hand towel!! FYI..Grandeur Hospitality Hand Towels 12pk $19.99 at Costco just like the ones they have. We requested a call from the Mgr but never heard back. Between the downgrade in quality of the breakfast & happy hour coupled by the full gouging on a hand towel we likely won't be going back and also decided not to refer 1906 as planned to a lady we had met the night before we checked out while out to dinner who is a regular visitor to Coronado.

The lodge itself is a charming and peaceful gem. We loved the homemade breakfast each morning and the afternoon happy hour with delicious treats. The innkeeper was always on site and incredibly friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. It felt like a wonderful value for Coronado, and we will absolutely stay here again.

The room was spacious and quite comfortable, and the public areas of the hotel are very nice. Breakfast is included, and it was delicious. There's no pool or work out room, but you can borrow bikes. It's a cozy little inn right in the heart of Coronado. I'd go back!

The room and the property are terrific, but the most important part of this stay was the outstanding staff. From making me a special breakfast to meet my dietary needs to handling check-in and checkout smoothly, everyone that I dealt with was amazing.

The staff exceeded expectations, of hospitality, friendliness, and general information. The location is superb and within walking distance of everything you would want on the island. This boutique hotel is different from the norm in all the right ways. There is a great happy hour, phenomenal breakfast, bikes for use, plenty of leisure areas and it is an enjoyable place.

I can't see myself going to San Diego without being able to stay at 1906. Staff was great and the breakfasts were INCREDIBLE! If you don't want the business of a large hotel and you like the charm of B&B's, this hotel is for you. I just got back today and already miss this place!

We've stayed here three times and absolutely love it. Perfect location, fabulous rooms, the staff is so friendly and love the breakfast and afternoon cocktail hour. They have bikes, beach towels and everything you need. Will definitely stay again.

I really enjoyed this hotel on a recent trip to Cornado for a conference at the Del. The rooms are pretty big, the bathrooms are updated and very clean and the staff is very friendly. They put on a nice complimentary happy hour in the afternoons with an option to sit in the patio. Great experience here. Highly recommended over some other local options.

Your staff was outstanding, breakfast and happy hour was a lovely touch. Nice bathroom, good location. Comfortable room and bed. . I would have chosen a different room in the lodge. Next time we go will book directly with hotel to accomplish that.

Everything was perfect! The staff was wonderfully welcoming, the lodge was charming, our room had a jacuzzi tub that I didn’t see in the picture so was pleasantly surprised. It was walking distance to everything and the bikes were fun to use! Kudos to the cook: the breakfast and happy hour snacks were awesome!

This is the nicest hotel I have ever stayed in! The room was incredible from the sitting area to the fireplace in the room, the staff was super friendly and attentive, and it had the best complimentary breakfast. It is in the perfect location, and I highly recommend!

Design and furnishings were excellent. Felt very private and pampered. Breakfast and happy hour were excellent. Staff was attentive and prompt. Minor issue but would have liked higher quality TP in the bathroom.

Even when I offered Monse the official registration cards for mine and my child’s service dog and ADA card to describe our rights did she not even look at them nor take them to read the information. She attacked us and demanded we move out immediately (more than 24 hrs prior to what we had booked and PREPAID). She yelled at us, was unprofessional and very mean. She claimed dogs are not allowed at the hotel. Service dogs are not pet’s, it is against the law not to allow them. Besides we heard a dog barking on the property the day before. We were definitely not the only guests with “dogs” - and when I checked in the first day, I overheard a call (11/23, around 5:30 pm) when a guest called who wanted to bring their dog and was making a booking over the phone and the receptionist told her that she could book the dog for $80/per day, hence: dogs are obviously allowed. By the state of CA it is illegal to prohibit anybody to bring their dog in order to assist with a disability. The hotel is old and could be nice if money would be invested for some renovations. The piping is old and reeks. The carpet is old and doesn’t look clean. The staff refused to provide non-down bedding - my son has terrible allergies. I even send the hotel a message beforehand but they claimed they ne

Cozy accommodations, great location, friendly staff, and a wonderful breakfast made the perfect pre-Thanksgiving getaway for my wife and I. We were greeted by the beautiful hotel grounds and buildings-the gardens were wonderful. The manager came immediately when we rang to register. She was friendly, kind, and helpful. They upgraded our room and she walked us there sharing all the amenities available to us. Our room was magnificent. We appreciated the historic style, fireplace, jetted tub, extra sitting room and balcony. The room was immaculate. The bed was super comfy. The happy hour was fun and had a great snack tray for my husband and I to share. (deviled eggs, praline pecans, and grapes) They served wine, beer, sangria, lemonade, and iced tea. I had the lemonade and it was freshly made and delicious on a warm day. We also enjoy the free breakfast that was served to our table in the garden by the fountain. We had an egg and potato casserole, fresh fruit, sausage, and a warm banana nut muffin. It was excellent! Our waitress was friendly, positive, and professional. She brought us extra water and checked in on us to be sure we had all we needed. In fact, this was our experience will all the staff we interacted with. Absolutely horrific stay- stay far far away! They “upgraded” us (out of good faith) to a suite that was immediately over a construction zone. I cannot tell you horribly they treated us- do NOT go here!

The staff were amazingly friendly and engaging. The area felt safe and we walked everywhere without feeling uncomfortable. We loved our room. Breakfast and happy hour were delightful. Would definitely recommend the 1906!

The staff is amazing and goes out of their way to be helpful. Rooms were very cute and comfortable. Lodge was just 2 blocks from the beach and had chairs and towels if needed. Would definitely go back again.

The Lodge used an intense smelling fragrance in my room. After ten minutes, I had a headache and it felt like my mouth and throat were coated with fragrance. When I asked to move to another room, I was told all rooms had the same intense smell. After 30 years of extensive worldwide travel, intense smells have only been encountered when properties were trying to eliminate a problem ( eg smoke, animal, body, musty, etc. odors. Management told me no one else had ever complained about the fragrance before but they had people making reservations asking them not to use fragrance. Hmmm. After trying to air out the room for three hours and still having a reaction to smell, I asked for a refund. I was told that if Expedia called and released funds to them, I’d receive one. However, after Expedia called them, the Lodge decided not to refund me. If they would have just told me that up front, I wouldn’t be writing this. Maybe I misunderstood, If so, I apologize but still think others should be told about intense fragrance, as it’s not normal in hotel/lodge properties.

The staff was courteous and helpful and the environment successfully replaced a loud and crowded convention hotel (Del Coronado) with a very comfortable bed, roomy quarters and a inviting home environment!

First of all, what is there not to like? This literally was a five minute walk to the beach and the hotel Del Coronado. We had all the restaurants and conveniences as if we were staying at the hotel Del Coronado, but at a fraction of the cost. Love the happy hour and complementary hot served breakfast. The staff was super friendly and welcoming.

Such a wonderful property tucked away from the summer travelers, yet so close to everything. The staff was wonderful as were all the amenities. We enjoyed a concert in the park, good food & coffee, beach walks - all walking distance from the hotel. We loved our room with a private porch. The hotel has an incredible breakfast as well as bikes and beach gear. Wonderful staycation for us San Diegans. We will definitely be back.

The Lodge was very quaint and lovely. The rooms were accommodated nicely. The only complaint I have is that the on-line write up about the place stated that there was complementary underground parking, but when we checked in we were told if we wanted to park in the underground garage it would cost $30 a night. That I take as false advertising.

We enjoyed the spacious room, comfortable bed, and delicious breakfast. We especially loved the evening wine with appetizers.

This is one of my favorite properties ion Coronado Island. It's walking distance to the beach and the nicest restaurants. The service is exceptional and the food is amazing.

We enjoy the quiet atmosphere. The staff is very welcoming. The property is well maintained, proximity to restaurants and shops is ideal for walking

We really liked the room itself, the bed was extremely comfortable. The TV however was not totally visible from the bed where you have it mounted on the wall and the jets in the Jacuzzi didn't work.

We used the complimentary bicycles and had a great time touring the island!

The breakfast was homemade and wonderful as were the happy hour snacks and beverages. It instantly became our all time favorite place !

It was an amazing place. We enjoyed the location and the room. It was quiet and beautiful. The staff took great care of us and were extremely kind. They delivered us happy hour with treats. The room had personal touches like fluffy brown robes, amazing cookies and eco water.

This property was so beautiful. The parking is difficult. And I did have a plumbing issue that they weren’t able to fix. But the staff are very accommodating and the facility is beautiful.

We had a wonderful stay at 1906 Lodge! The staff was all very friendly & helpful. We had a delicious breakfast each morning on the patio and enjoyed happy hour from 4-5 daily. The Lodge is very well kept up, comfortable & clean. We plan to come back :)

Very nice property. Staff was excellent. Quiet, in a residential neighborhood just off the main commerce areas. Easy walk to dining, shopping, bars and the beach.

It was a beautiful hotel, everyone is so welcoming and kind. It truly felt like a escape from reality. We stayed in Star Park, very spacious and featured a shared fireplace with the hot tub. The breakfast was delicious and the perfect serving. Overall if I could give this hotel more than 5 stars I would. Definitely will be back.

1906 Lodge is conviently located to the shops and restaurants along Orange Ave, the main street that runs through Coronado Island. The staff is wonderful and the service was great! The free breakfast and happy hour were delightful and very much appreciated. We had an excellent stay in this quaint lodge and will definitely be back.

This boutique hotel was perfect in every way. The proximity to the beach, shopping, restaurants, plus it was quiet, comfortable, and just a perfect place for us to stay. The free breakfasts were great as was the happy hour. I felt special staying there as they made everything so nice for their guests. The free bicycles to use was an added bonus.

Loved our stay. Due to flight delays we got in very late, but we had no trouble getting in despite the late check in. The room was gorgeous and it was a lovely neighborhood.

What a beautiful, well maintained older hotel! Loved every moment here. The shower in our king bed room was enormous and the bed very comfortable. The 1906 Lodge is within walking distance to shopping, restaurants, beach/Pacific ocean and the historic Hotel Del Coronado

The Innkeepers were very helpful and accessible, it was a clean, quiet, low-key stay walking distance to food and shops in Coronado.

Tip * - the parking is an underground garage around the corner, and it’s small and tight fit. I unloaded luggage at check in area and then parked car. There is an elevator back to lobby floor- but not to second level. I would absolutely stay again but probably try harder for street parking availability than use the garage again. * Free happy hour 4-5 with wines snacks etc in garden area. Free small breakfast as well, same area. Thank you for the surprise champagne and birthday card to greet me in room, such a nice touch!! It was my first time visiting CI, and next visit I will definitely choose 1906 again!

1906 Lodge was a pure delight: wonderful staff, large rooms with fireplaces, luxurious baths, and delicious complimentary artisanal breakfasts and happy hour daily. Great quiet location within easy walking distance of restaurants. Beach towels, chairs, and umbrellas to borrow for beautiful Coronado Beach several blocks away and cruiser bikes to tour the island back streets. One of the best small hotel experiences anywhere!

Special weekend at 1996. First time there and a pleasant surprise. Classic, quaint, quiet yet comforting. Harmony added a special touch of class and joy during the morning breakfast which was amazing as well. Thank you Harmony.

The property was very comfortable. Fresh breakfast every morning and happy hour with wine, crackers and fruit in the evening. Walking distance to the beach and restaurants. Park in the neighborhood for free. All staff were amazing. Definitely coming back.

The reviews are real; this place is amazingly managed and staffed. Friendly, clean, quiet, beautiful and close to Orange Avenue for shopping, dining and beach access.

Only hiccup was a tv that kept rebooting, and the hot water was out for a couple of hours (but it was fixed quickly). Will definitely stay here again

Lovely historic lodge. Nice happy hour. Our room turned out to be a suite with 2 TVs and a fireplace. Very walkable location with easy on-street parking if you don’t want to pay for the garage. Unfortunately, we had an early flight and missed the breakfast.

This is a gem of a place right within a few minutes from the shops and restaurants and the beach. It’s quiet and nestled in a very nice neighborhood. The breakfast is fantastic and the happy hour with tasty snacks was a nice bonus. The king room was spacious and very comfortable. This was a great find!

It was small & quaint, rooms were great, staff very nice. Amazing breakfast included and nice happy hour to start your evening. Loved the location. Off the heavily trafficked Orange street but close enough to walk to everything. The best of all worlds!
