Reviews
The hotel is highly praised for its historic charm, excellent location in Coral Gables, and friendly staff. Guests enjoy the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms, as well as the on-site restaurant, Zucca. However, some guests have complained about noise from the street or neighboring rooms, and a few have mentioned issues with parking.

For breakfast was only coffee ir tea, not even a bisquet when all cafes around were closed at 8 am …
- 5/5
The room was just beautiful and so far from a typical hotel room that I felt like I was a treasured "grand dame!" I have wanted to stay in this BOUTIQUE HOTEL since I lived in Coral Gables in the mid 80s. Back then the restaurant and the side bar were very oh-La-La French inspired. IT DID NOT DISSAPOINT ( except the cute bar and the French restaurant are no longer part of the space. Zucca Coarl Gables, a high-end Italian restaurant, now occupies the spaces.
- 5/5
We will definitely stay there again. If I had to complain would be the outside noise.
- 5/5
Happy with our stay.
- 4.5/5
Good location, very nice room No towel racks so there was nowhere to put a towel once used. Also there was no soap at the basin, the only soap was shampoo in the shower

AWSOME experience!
- 5/5
The hotel was great. Our room was beautiful. The staff was friendly and helpful. Because they knew it was our anniversary, they had a lovely bottle of wine on ice for us in the room when we arrived. Also the location is great--easy walking distance to Miracle Mile and all the shops and restaurants of downtown Coral Gables. All in all it was a great experience!

This was a beautiful boutique hotel close to so many great restaurants and cafes. We even decided to stay an extra night because we were having so much fun in the area, and they gave us a great discount.
- 4/5
Clean room, nice restaurant and bar. Close to everything in the Coral Gables. Parking close by and street parking from 12-9 am is free.

Amazing property. The rooms were beautiful and was walking distance to great restaurants

- 4/5
This lovely boutique hotel is a hidden gem. It’s location is excellent allowing one to walk to Miracle Mile and to numerous restaurants within 10 minutes. This is definitely a place that I will keep in mind upon returning to Coral Gables. Lastly, the public parking is very easy to find as it is across the street and covered.

Property was great, Unique, and perfectly located in coral gables.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel and a great location in walking distance to great restaurants and bars. The restaurant at the hotel was wonderful and the staff were great.

Tight quarters and uncomfortable bed.

Cash wash options were also available
- 5/5
Beautiful small hotel, very central, close to shops and restaurants in Coral Gables. Very clean and very nice staff.
- 4/5
Didn’t like that we were told to leave the key at the front desk every time we left. Also didn’t like the elevator.
- 5/5
Super comfy beds, modern and good quality furnishings. Lovely touches. Will stay again.
- 5/5
Very quaint property in the heart of Coral Gables.
- 5/5
Very nice independent hotel with well-designed and comfortable rooms. Prefer this hotel over many of the big name brands in the area.
- 4/5
Charming little boutique hotel in Coral Gables. For those needing to visit UMiami, this is a much more affordable option if you have a car (approximately. 15 minute drive to campus). The staff were very friendly, rooms are clean and updated. The room service left much to be desired, but we didn't really scope the area for other options. There is Starbucks within walking distance and parking was relatively easy.
- 5/5
Awesome hotel, well located, great staff, and a wonderful restaurant (not affiliated with hotel) on the ground floor. Large rooms and attentive staff! Wonderful!

- 5/5
Lovely hotel and wonderful experience!
- 4/5
The hotel is beautiful and well kept. The room was very clean, comfortable and quiet. The staff was very professional. Only downside is parking: it's not provided. One has to pay the meter on the street or a parking building in front of the hotel.
- 5/5
From check-in to check-out (3-night stay, 3 rooms) the staff was pleasant, accommadating and courteous to my entire family. We have stayed here before and will certainly return again. In addition, the hotel is well situated and within walking distance to many outstanding eateries (breakfast, lunch and dinner).
- 5/5
The hotel is very intimate, with only 28 rooms, and is ideally located in the heart of Coral Gables within walking distance of several restaurants, banks, and a Target. While the property does not offer an extensive range of amenities, it does include an Italian restaurant on the first floor. Overall, it was a very pleasant and unique stay.
- 5/5
Fantastic stay at the St Michel! Really cool updated historic hotel with an actual elevator operator for the 2 doors! Good location walk and dine at Babette, or eat in their well appointed and delicious hotel restaurant. Only about 15 minutes to MIA. Very charming interior and nice comfortable beds. Highly recommend!
- 5/5
Interesting 100 year old boutique hotel with an excellent restaurant on the ground level. We were upgraded to a suite and much larger room, which helped with the experience. Parking garage is across the street in a small public garage, but is convenient and easy in/out.
- 5/5
Very cute chic Antique hotel extremely clean easy smooth check in and check out
- 5/5
The key aspect we like about Hotel St Michel, beyond its own European-boutique-hotel vibe, is the walkability of the area around it. This is the core of Coral Gables. We took an Uber from the airport and then didn't need a car at all to reach shops, high-end restaurants, Books & Books bookstore and beer garden, and the outdoor cafés etc. along the pedestrian mall of Giralda Avenue nearby. Buzzing on a Friday night. Real city life, not the usual Miami experience trapped inside a car.
- 5/5
It was charming with a magnificent restaurant downstairs that I believe is not connected to the hotel, but you can get room service delivered and book a table. Leaving :-)

The property is beautiful. This is our second visit and both experiences were good. Our king room during our first stay was spacious and comfortable, this room was comfortable, though not spacious. The staff were helpful and polite. I would not recommend the double room with two kids and two adults. More our own fault for not doing better research.

Loved the European feel of this hotel. Just wish we would have had one more day to spend there and try your restaurant zucchini. Hopefully next time

Perfect location
- 5/5
Charming, unique, and comfortable stay! The staff was very welcoming and accommodating. It was a exciting experience to stay in a hotel that perfectly exhibits a cross over of old and new. It is a hidden gem in Coral Gables and happy I was able to stay.
- 3/5
Room smelled very heavily of room freshener, which was overpowering. Also, the latch and lock on the inside of the door did not work
- 5/5
Staff was excellent and always available for help with anything.

- 3/5
Old, small hotel. (Think plaque said 1926.) Very nice staff, but few. Single receptionist had to show us to room and had little time to explain things. Elevator is hand-crank operated; so, requires attendant. (That's good because can help with luggage, if there, but hurried. No place to hang towels in bath, nor full mirror in room, and incomprehensible a/c controls. Great location.
- 5/5
No breakfast, room is very clean
- 5/5
Great hotel- gym is so so. Boutique. Clean and amazing location- close to magnificent mile with many outdoor restaurants

- 3/5
Room was well appointed, nice size and comfortable. The housekeeping staff did a great job and were nice in the brief interactions we had. The front desk staff were hit and miss. One in particular who happened to be there at my arrival, seemed annoyed to have to look up from his phone to deal with me. Lastly, the hotel completely false advertises their fitness room. It's less than 100 sq ft (maybe 2 ppl at a time can fit?) and features 1 peloton bike with no strap, 1 treadmill that is less than residential quality, let alone commercial, and a few weights up to 15lbs. Why not just properly disclose that? Overall, good location in Coral Gables, nicely kept with charm, but as I mentioned...some staff seemed to almost detest the fact that I checked in and for those who value any sort of hotel gym, this is not the place.
- 3/5
Amazing location but old building.

I loved it😍 It was amazing how they still have an old structure, but it’s all renewed and clean, so you get the nostalgic felling and the new comfort.

Great hotel with an excellent restaurant on the main floor. Front desk service was terrible on checkout but that didn’t really spoil our visit
- 5/5
Zucca restaurant is exceptional. Great food and service.
- 5/5
The elevator was wild surprise. Build in the 1940s, it was manually operated.Felt like we were going back in time. Restaurant was fine dinning.
- 5/5
"Excellent stay at Hotel St. Michel! You can't beat the location—right in the heart of the Gables with everything in walking distance. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the historic decor is stunning, and the staff is genuinely friendly. A refreshing change of pace from big chains. Highly recommend!"
- 5/5
Beautiful restored historic hotel. Great bar and restaurant.

- 5/5
Really nice hotel. Staff was very attentive and kind.
- 5/5
Our charming one-night stay began with an early arrival and conversation with the charismatic staff as they took our bags and provided recommendations to nearby dining options. On our return, we were led on the historic elevator - original to the building from 1926 - and our room, where our bags were waiting. The area is eminently walkable with several food an entertainment options nearby. Hotel St. Michel easily became our preferred location to stay in Coral Gables.
- 5/5

Beautiful location and very clean and elegant rooms. Great restaurant also
- 5/5
Hotel staff were friendly and efficient, making check in easy. The King room we had was well appointed, clean and comfortable. Room 204 does get some outside City noise but nothing too bothersome. All and all a great spot and I highly recommend.

The decor, the old fashioned lift. The staff weee exceptional The location is ideal to explore this area with the free trolley around the corner and restaurants just along the road It is also not too far from the airport Nothing

This was the cutest hotel! We only stayed the night to catch a cruise but 10/10 loved it and would stay again.

The location and historical charm!
- 5/5
Nice small clean room. Mattress was firm, not my favorite. Staff & service was excellent.
- 5/5
Every inch of the room was immaculately clean and the room was thoroughly comfortable. Best part was the staff, who were gracious, polite, cheerful and very helpful. We loved our stay there and will not hesitate to stay there again.

Staff was expedient and willing to assist in any manner. I suggest a more comfortable chair in the room.

We enjoyed our stay. We love the boutique nature, kind and helpful staff. It’s our go to home in the Gables.
- 5/5
Shannon and the front desk team were absolutely wonderful. They went above and beyond by beautifully decorating the room for first night as newlyweds to make their evening even more special and memorable.
- 4/5
But the service and the convenience of the parking garage next door was good. Very pricey though.
- 5/5
Awesome?
- 5/5
It was everything we needed so minimalist but at the same time beautiful and cozy. Very comfortable room!
- 5/5
Room spotless and Daniel at the reception was very helpful, pleasant and courteous!
- 1/5
When we arrived our reserved suite was 52 degrees Fahrenheit and going down. Although the hotel was aware of the problem they did not think about informing us. They brought a few blankets for us to stay warm!!!! So after a 4 and a half hour drive we were basically without a useable room and were forced on the spot at 5PM to find an alternative. As a Hilton Honers member we first checked their website and selected a room. I have to say that the lady at the reception was nice to help by calling Hilton. We reserved a room but, of course, due to the timing and available rooms had to spent quite a bit more.
- 3/5
the room was so small!!! Front desk staff wasnt overly friendly and the only time you can use the elevator was when someone was there- not a huge issue, as there are only 3 floors but i wont stay here again
- 2/5
Cold water for shower & bathroom sink. Housekeeping disposed of some of our personal items without asking. Parking situation is a nightmare. Garage is across the street & you are charged every time to go in & out. Very basic hotel.

Great stay, clean, excellent staff.

Great place, but the noise from the ambulances are just terrible.

Unfortunately the wrong day was booked. So when we arrived our reservation could not be found and we eventually figured out that the reservation was made for the previous day, which completely ruined our experience.

This hotel is so fun, it felt like we walked back into the 1920s and the manual elevator was a really special touch. The room was small but exceptionally clean and I loved the decor!
- 5/5
Quiet and clean. The 100-year-old elevator is a surprise something that can only be seen in a movie
- 4/5

- 4/5
It's a great location. You can walk to many coffee shops, restaurants, bars and Target. The bathroom was updated but not very thoughtfully. The shower was very awkward because it was also a tub with a very wide ledge around it. There was no vent nor fan in the bathroom so it was hot and steamy and the mirror was very small, no full length mirror in the room.
- 5/5
The breakfast menu was very limited. Otherwise the restaurant was excellent! The staff was amazing! The rooms are smal but clean. We will be back...great location!
- 5/5
Rooms are very clean. A classic hotel in a classic town of Coral Gables. Very much closet to miracle Mile and to the best restaurants. The hotel is also 15 mins away from Downtown which let us explore Miami better. The staff are very friendly to accommodate any special requests like coffee and hot water. They are also very prompt in resolving any issues that may arise during a Stay. Will definitely come back if I visit Miami.

Great boutique hotel with very helpful staff. Location is walking distance to all the restaurants.

The hotel is clearly older. The room was adequate and modestly furnished. There were limited amenities. This is an ok place to spend the night if you are in Coral Gables. I travel to Coral Gables often and have stayed at better properties in the area.
- 5/5
Cozy, beautiful old historic building
- 4/5
Lovely hotel with a quirky vibe. Very walkable and lots of dining options nearby. Would definitely stay here again.

Great little hotel. Small , quirky with a European feel. Rooms are nicely updated and comfortable. Great location. Fantastic dining in a short walking distance.
- 5/5
Excellent small well run hotel. The restaurant downstairs, Zucca, is one of the best in Miami.
- 5/5
The staff was primarily great, Especially Daniel the front desk manager. He was exceptional at customer service. Rooms were spotless. Hotel restaurant was also excellent.

Great place to stay.

clean, comfortable, excellent location in the heart of Coral Gables business district - excellent restaurants and night life within walking distance.

- 5/5
Great option to stay in Coral Gables
- 4/5
Beautiful historic building with comfortable fairly basic rooms. 100 year old elevator requiring attendant is a bit inconvenient. I just used stairs but if that was a problem, elevator is a potential issue. Water pressure in shower quite weak. Staff was helpful. Location is great!
- 5/5
I really liked the hotel because it is unusual and old, and it has its own atmosphere, which I really like.
- 5/5
Excelente hotel , the best in coral gables I have been using St Michele for over 20 years and also have accommodated here associates and clients. Always excellent
- 5/5
Did not have any meals in hotel but facilities looked fine
- 5/5
Great quiet hotel for a good price.

- 5/5
Clean room, great location
- 5/5
Nice hotel. Good vibe.
- 5/5
I believe the experience would be better if a night light could be placed in the bathroom.
- 4/5
Cute place, looks like a European hotel, and is located in a great part of Coral Gables, so you can walk everywhere. The bathroom was great, with a fantastic shower. My only minor observation was that the front desk clerk was a little austere and could be a bit more friendly. They offered free breakfast, too, which I was not even aware of until the next morning.
- 5/5
This hotel was so comfortable and the staff offer amazing service
- 4/5
Old but nice
- 4/5
My only complaint is that housekeeping started making so much noise in the hallway at 8:30 in the morning. They didn't stop making noise and talking loudly. we gave up and got up and left at 10am.
- 5/5
I had a wonderful stay at Hotel St. Michel! The staff were friendly, welcoming, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. The service was amazing truly 100%! I’d definitely recommend this hotel and look forward to coming back again.

- 5/5
I love old hotels! And while this one was almost 100 years old, it did not feel like it except in the original 1926 hand operated elevator. The staff was wonderful, fetching an umbrella when we were headed out in a terrible rain storm. And we were safe and comfortable. Zucca, the first floor restaurant, OMG, so amazing!
- 5/5
I Love that this hotel is very French. They have the old time elevator where you have to close the gate, the key for the room was an original brass key that you put in the old fashioned door lock and turn, the room was so clean, no carpeting just nice hardwood floors, the bed was so comfortable, the tub and shower were all marble and oversize, they gave you these cute robes, I had a wonderful stay! BTW I went to the Italian Restaurant Zucca down stairs to eat (it was packed with ppl), the food was good (but not great like I expected) and very overpriced.
- 5/5
Staff is amazing, friendly, helpful. Rooms are immaculate. Bed is very comfortable. Location, location, location....walking distance to many restaurants and clubs. So convenient to just patk, stay and walk to whatever you want to do. No driving and parking hassles.
- 5/5
This hotel offers a delightful and appealing experience. Its prime location provides convenient access to the Miracle Mile, various shopping destinations, and dining establishments. Zucca, an Italian restaurant, is conveniently situated at the hotel's entrance. The establishment maintains a high standard of cleanliness and tranquility. While on-site parking is unavailable, valet services are provided, along with nearby parking garage and street parking options. The staff consistently delivers exceptional and welcoming service. I anticipate returning for future stays.
- 5/5
Love the girl at the front. She was super nice and helpful. Will be coming back

Wonderful boutique hotel in Coral Gables.

- 5/5
Lots of charm
- 5/5
The hotel was a unique and wonderful experience! I really appreciated that they kept the original/historic features of the hotel while still modernizing for comfort and luxury. The staff were very friendly and helpful. All in all, I couldn’t recommend it more.
- 5/5
I had a lovely updated room in this historic hotel in Coral Gables
- 5/5
Loved my stay at the Hotel St. Michel! The room and hotel were clean and very pretty. The staff was friendly (they let me check in a little earlier and even changed my room, so I had a better view). The location is great, with many shops and restaurants in walkable distance. The parking is a bit expensive; it was more cost effective to use valet, and they were very helpful. I would book here again!
- 5/5
Great quaint hotel
- 5/5
Loved it.
- 5/5
A beautiful, quaint hotel nestled in the heart of the gables with excellent standards and friendly staff.

Staff is friendly and helpful. Check in and out super easy.
- 5/5
Very clean and great location
- 5/5
Everyone was friendly and VERY accommodating . Great Location
- 5/5
The parking is not convenient. It needs improvement. The only overnight parking is the parking garage across the street. Not having any on site parking is very strange and unheard of. There isn’t even any “loading and unloading area for luggage which I found inconvenient if having to make multiple trips. Plus the cost is $21 to park overnight! The hotel should reimburse this since you are already paying for a room!!
- 5/5
Super friendly service and great value. We will definitely return.
- 5/5
Perfectly located with good parking and only a short walk from miracle mile
- 5/5
Charming boutique hotel downtown Coral Gables. Also houses the Zucca restaurant which has fabulous cuisine. Easy walkability to shops and other restaurants. Historic property built in 1926, completely renovated.

Excellent experience beautiful hotel and ambience in the restaurant downstairs.

Love staying here..
- 4/5
For the one night we stayed, it was quiet and comfortable. We had to valet our car for $15, but that was fine. The hotel is in a great location for walking to shops and restaurants. Due it being built in 1926, the architecture was great. We enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful boutique hotel with an outstanding restaurant. Small lobby. Great location. Excellent staff and service.

What a lovely but older beautifully renovated hotel. Building I believe built in 1926. We did not have a chance to dine at the restaurant but I was told by locals that they enjoy dining there.

Nice stay for family. Old style, but modern comfort.

Quiet and close to dining

Great boutique hotel within minutes walking distance to many restaurants . The hotel is small and staff are very attentive. Rooms are renovated and comfortable. Would stay here again.,

Zucca restaurant was amazing. Easy walk to Miracle Mile

Beautiful historic hotel. Great location within walking distance of restaurants, drugstore, bookstore, and more! Friendly and attentive staff. Extremely clean rooms and comfortable bed.

Had a great stay while attending some work meetings.

Cute place. Rooms are too small. Stayed on a Saturday night and could hear loud music from outside very late in the night. Clean rooms but again doors and windows don’t block noise from outside, hallways or above your room.

Charming hotel in very nice, walkable area.

Amazing experience! Staff is wonderful and property is incredible! Restaurant downstairs is truly outstanding, one of the best I have ever been to! Staff at restaurant (Zucca) are kind, attentive and made the experience that much better!

Very nice and beautiful hotel . Location was perfect, close to shops and restaurants. Staff very friendly and attentive.

Historical hotel in Coral Gables with lots of charm. Staff is professional and sociable. No breakfast but great location to access many restaurants.

Friendly staff, accommodating. Clean, comfy bed, beautifully decorated. Great location. My only complaint would be it has a bit of a "stuffy" smell. Overall had a great stay and would stay again at this Boutique hotel!

Very nice hotel and a great location. We had a double suite. Bathroom was very nice with walk in shower. Restaurant, Zucca, on ground level was excellent. Enjoyed being able to walk to restaurants, etc.

Room 217 was extremely small. The price is too high for such an small room, with view to the alley. It was very noisy due to the proximity to the gargabe alley. This room should be sold for half the price.
- 3/5
It was ok overall, not sure if its worth the money as this is expansive hotel
- 5/5
The elevator and room were amazing! Like stepping back in time!!

Quaint, historic property. Excellent location with many restaurants and shops in walking distance. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Food at Zucca is fantastic.

This is a gracious old hotel in Coral Gables. Our room was comfortable with fine quality sheets
- 5/5
Great food options just two blocks away ….. in addition to the fine restaurant in the Property.

Great location and nice room. I like the boutique style, but it is old. You can hear people stomping around above you and in the hallways as well as street noise. Other than the very loud surrounds, it is a good hotel. Staff was incredible.
- 5/5
The Zucca Restaurant is outstanding dining. There are many more restaurants and plenty of shopping in walking distance. Staff is welcoming and helpful. Will stay here again!

Very nice restored Art Deco hotel, nicely located in Coral Gables.

El gimnasio es pequeño pero funcional (no mas de dos personas porque sería incómodo). Tiene bicicleta peloton, corredora y pesas hasta 15lbs Buen lugar para una escapada de fin de semana.

Helpful staff, clean property, and comfortable best. Best shower of my entire trip. The only negative late night outdoor noise. Would stay again.

Location. Room. Staff.

It was a beautiful property. We stumbled upon it by accident and enjoyed it so much, we are returning next weekend.

Had to wait 25 minutes for a clerk to show up to check us in. Employees had no suggestions about where to eat and indeed couldn’t give directions to a restaurant that was 2 blocks away
