Rodeway Inn Concord - Kannapolis

The continental breakfast was reasonable. I made waffles. There was fruit, including apples. The continental breakfast was available during the time period that was posted. I liked the owner/manager of the property. He and the other members of the staff were very nice. The price of the motel room was reasonable for each night that I was there. It was easy to check in and to check out. I stayed at the motel 2 nights in a row, in different rooms. There were no grab bars in the showers in the 2 rooms that I slept in. I told the manager/owner that grab bars should be installed in the showers in all of the motel rooms. I am 76. It is important, especially for senior citizens, to have grab bars, because the nerves in our feet do not work as well (compared to when we were younger) in communicating with our brains to help us keep our balance. The ability to grab a shower curtain is no substitute for having 2 grab bars in each shower. He informed me that that installation of grab bars in at least some of the motel rooms was already planned and in progress.

Location Locks on doors and bathroom were broken. Clear evidence of both doors being kicked in. Broken tub that dripped all night. White substance on the tv remote that looked like dried semen. I could have put a sheet on the roof of my vehicle to simulate how hard the bed was.

We didn't stay there. Chose to forfeit the payment and stay elsewhere. Appeared very insecure. Checked in and got the key card but returned the card and left immediately in search of a safe place. The room was met open with a cable running from inside to a van parked outside. Deemed insecure, I sacrificed the full payment and drove up a few miles to a safer hotel. Staff didn't seem to think it odd the room assigned was already accessed (and could quite possibly be re-accessed while you are sleeping!) That "lovely" pattern on the white curtains was dirt - muddy, water stains. Very inviting!

Didn’t Know We Had Complimentary Breakfast, Was Not Informed About It Smoke Detector Battery Was Dying And Beeping Keeping Us Up All Night, Bathroom Door Did Not Lock Or Latch Shut.

I needed a no-frills bed after flying in late to Charlotte. I spent a lot of time looking around the city and what I found was either hotels that cost too much and offered services that I wasn't interested in, or hotels that sounded from reviews like they were dirty, disfunctional, and possibly dreadful. There didn't seem to be a middle tier that catered to my need to just get a good night's rest. Once I left the city and began to look closer to my final destination, I found the Rodeway Inn in Concord and made the decision to book a single night there. It was perfect for what I needed! They were there to check me in at half past midnight, the room was clean, the bed was comfy and the pillows were not flat as pancakes. In the morning I found coffee and had time for a half hour run through a nearby park. The shower was hot and cleaned me off, and the staff that I met, both in the morning and the evening was very friendly. It was like what a motel should be, a place to rest and reset, with a price that reflected. Thank you Rodeway Inn for focusing on the important things. Nothing major was wrong or missing with Roadway Inn. If I were to nit-pick things like the choice of bagel, it wouldn't be fair to include in a review of this establishment. For the price point I was looking for, I don't expect beautiful decor or an amazing hot breakfast.

Good price and location near freeway, renovated bath area, and pleasant breakfast room with a good selection of cold options and a couple of waffle makers. While our room had a renovated bathroom area, the sleeping area was quite old with dated carpeting, window coverings and bedspreads. Many rooms are shuttered and apparently awaiting renovation.

Very clean room, WiFi worked well, and didn’t see anything wrong with the continental breakfast, we will definitely be back 😇

Was very loud outaide late night. People were out cooking and when came back for the night felt unsafe.

The AC takes a long time to cool the room off. The definition of EV charger leaves a lot to the imagination. I would expect something that an electric vehicle could reasonable charge. In this case, there is a 220 outlet and that’s it. I would have had to remove my home charger from the wall of my garage to charge my vehicle.

The hotel was in the process of renovating some of the rooms and had already finished the others. The room was clean and quiet. Breakfast had options and was very good.

This was a"budget" motel, if you just need a clean place conveniently located to i85 this will work. My room was newly renovated and was surprisingly clean each day, which you dont get with alot of the more pricey places anymore, right for the price, no frills.

Property is being remodeled but was still safe, room was clean, and I truly enjoyed my stay there. Will definitely use again

Very convenient place to stay. However, i think this property to add more dryer and washer which can pay using credit/debit card instead of using coins. But overall was excellent. Recommended to stay here for the next trip.

The place wasnt packed with loud rude people and didnt smell of tobacco and dope. My clothes maintained their freshness, rather than picking up those smells in the air.

The property was safe and quiet. The exterior was new construction but inside the room was a different story. There was new furniture in the room but the carpet was terrible. The sink and toilet were clean but the shower was old and not so clean. Overall, for the price the room was acceptable.

Noisy and the door had an opening you can visual see light coming in the bathroom door would not close or lock and the so called sink they had there was odd like a slight dip with a drain which was clogged.

Run down cheap hotel but you get what ya pay for. No breakfast.

The place seems to be under renovation. Our room had what looked like blood on the curtains and dirty spaces in the room, such as the fridge. It was okay to stay for one night, but I would not stay there for longer.

There’s a lot reconstructing going on in the area holes all in the parking lot rooms was filthy and there will be an unexpected $150 fee that they don’t mention on there site, overall experience 0/100

Clean, didn’t smell

I understand about deposits and dont mind paying them, but having to pay $100 deposit for a room with exposed wires, paint falling off the walls, and a rusty microwave makes no sense to me.

The nicest & cleanest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. They are renovating so there is construction materials around outside but not in the side they are still renting out. Very nice friendly staff. Will definitely stay here again & spread the word about great it was

The hotel might scare you away right now from the outside, but my room was clean and well-equipped, and worth the rate paid. The desk help and owner were very nice. I met and spoke to the owner upon my departure, and he explained that half of the hotel and their new welcome desk lobby are about to be reopened for business, after an extensive remodel investment. The half I stayed in will then be taken down for renovation as well. Right now the rate is very attractive both due to the location being a little isolated from restaurants and activities that are just minutes away, and due to the construction. But I think it is worth it if you just want a quiet, clean, comfortable night stay, and you don't mind the unattractive neighborhood. Know that until they open their new lobby, which I believe is just weeks away, breakfast will not be offered.

The owners of this property went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant. They were very helpful, and I will stay here again when I'm in the area.

This property is currently under renovation. So as on right now there is no breakfast included like advertised. And when asking if there was a way we could get some money back for the inconvenience (as the reason for booking the hotel was the included breakfast) the staff hung up the phone.

This is an absolutely terrible place to stay. The room is visibly dirty and in poor condition. There is literally a spot next to the air-conditioner where you can see to the outside of the room / not sealed at all. The microwave is visibly dirty, the shower is visibly dirty, the walls and door frames are visibly dirty. There are huge cracks in the walls and ceilings. On Travelocity a free continental breakfast is advertised; upon check-in we were informed that there is no breakfast. Absolutely misleading information all around. We didn't expect a 5 star property, but this is much worse than we could have anticipated. Highly recommend NOT staying here.

Very close to on/off ramp of highway. They are in the middle of updating facility. So, the dumpster for the construction trash is expected. Felt safe staying on my own. Room was exceptional for such a cost effective price.

I would like a refund of at least one night. We we in town for a basketball tournament and a track meet. The cleaner threw away a bag if bananas and OTC meds. There was no tub stopper so my 3 yr old couldn't take a bath. There was a roach crawling on the shower curtain and the place gad a weird smell.

The hotel from the street and the office is very scary. We had prepaid for the room, and if we had not, we would not have even gone in the lobby. The side of the building that faced the office was terrible!! Stairs up to second floor looked as though they might crumble if you tried to use them. Fortunately, the other side of the building was a bit better. The room itself was not great, and no bugs or unusual smells. We would never stay there again, and in fact, the next night, we passed on a Days Inn by Wyndham as a result.

Room outdated missing table and chair...bathroom light did not work... Tv channels kept cutting in and out... Door would not shut completely...

My best friend and I stayed here last minute for one night. We got what we paid for. The people managing/ running the place were kind. But this is an older motel with very old fixtures. The bathtub had what looked like burn marking from cigarette ashes all over it. The faint smell of old cigarettes were everywhere, even though there was a strict no smoking policy. I think they were burning incense in the main lobby area. We slept on top of the beds to be safe. We are two females and honestly didn’t feel the safest but nothing happened we were probably just paranoid. The complimentary breakfast was decent. Like I said, we got what we paid for. This worked for a cheap last minute ordeal but I probably wouldn’t search for this place again.

The stay was for business and worked out great. The location was perfect. The staff was outstanding; even mailing us some items we left behind!

Check in was very very slow. Room was comfortable and just what we needed. The breakfast area is very small but had a nice selection. Overall would stay again.

The staff was great! My boyfriend woke up in the middle of the night because he was being bit by bed bugs. He took pictures of the bumps but they went away. Unfortunately he had to sleep with a jacket on the rest of the night.

Requesting a quiet room, I was put around people that didn't have two nickels to rub together basically unfavorable conditions concerned for my safety. The outside lights, on the corridor were like headlights shining in the room. The pillows were not big enough even for a baby. The bed was hard as a rock, I could have slept on the ground outside and been more comfortable.

Room was updated from years ago stay. Breakfast is nothing special and really early 6 am to 9 am. Service and Front Desk always nice and friendly. Would stay again; however would like a better choice and maybe change of hours for breakfast.

Stayed here for a business trip. You can tell the place is undergoing renovation but still has a long way to go. I really have to say that the employees are really very nice but that was the best thing about staying here. Our first room was infested with cockroaches. I went down to the desk and asked for another room and was given one that did not have cockroaches. The second room was better but still just generally rather dirty.

As soon as I walked into the room there were roaches craeling uo the walls. The a/c was bloeing out warm air, and the shower was gross. I am not too high maintenance with hotel rooms, but THERE WERE ROACHES CRAWLING ON ME IN MY BED! It was the most uncomfortable I have ever been in a hotel. I just wish I vould have gotten photos to show just how many bugs there were. Appalling.

We paid more than other hotels because we needed to use their business center. they said their business center is under construction and will be up and running in a day and half. I needed 3 day stay. I paid more anywhere from $30 - $40 than other hotels for 3 nights because they said that their business center will be available but it was not available. I did not care where I was staying as long as it was on the west or north west or south west side of the state..
