Holiday Inn Express & Suites Columbus – Fort Benning Maingate by IHG

Donna was super kinda, helpful, and understanding! Her welcoming attitude made the checking in process and the stay at the hotel amazing over all!

We showed up an hour early They told us we would have to pay for early check in so we said no thank you we left came back at three when they told us our room wasn't going to be ready for at least an hour we waited an hour and 1/2 before we could go to our room A room rug was not vacuumed tub was dirty The sink was dirty as the day went on we realized the UBS outlets half of them didn't work Went to bed was kept up all night by noise we assumed it was another resident got in the shower shower did not drain properly had to take a shower and two inches of water Want to make a coffee coffee maker did not work the outlet was number good behind it The mini fridge was tilted back in its cabinet and made noise when running We were on a tight schedule and I did not want to deal with maintenance coming for the tub or the outlets and the facility was booked due to graduation so we bear second didn't hear music 3rd night heard music again Turn the air conditioner up to block music Fortnite up all night with music Decided to leave a day early Checked out Monday morning to find new hotel As we left I realized the music was coming from the carport speaker so I believe that whoever is working night shift likes to sit outside and listen to music and smoke cigarettes under the carport I will not stay at this location again I have stayed at several other locations with Holiday Inn both through Expedia and had a very good ex experience Oh and one of the elevators was out of order the entire time

Amazing staff. If there was an issue. They took care of it right away. Breakfast is good, best hotel breakfast we’ve had in quite some time. Rooms are decent. Some damaged furniture and paint peeling off the walls. But beds were comfortable. It’s a little noisy. But not unmanageable. Neighborhood isn’t the best. But it’s right next to Fort Benning. So anyone who’s been in the military knows the towns around base are always a little sketchy. But we never felt unsafe. Great location for going to Sand Hill for ceremonies. Would stay again. Overall pleasant experience

The property was centrally located to the base which is why we came- for the turning green ceremony at Fort Benning. Love that they had breakfast and you didn’t have to pay extra for parking. The beds were super comfortable. If you like extra room, the suite is the way to go. Housekeeping didn’t keep up with towels or garbage. I actually had to go out into the hallway to bring them my garbage and ask for towels- no hot tub-asked for a late checkout and was told no they can’t do that -asked for an extra room to rent and the guy at the front desk was so rude and said we are sold out well. I went onto Booking.com and hotel tonight and they had room so I booked one on the site and what do you know I ended up with another room lol the front desk lady Miss Donna is exceptional. She was the most friendliest face in that place. They need to hire more women/ men like her. The rest of the front desk staff was not pleasant at all.

The food wasn’t good to artificial but coffee was good. But grateful to have some food… Rug needs to be removed there was several stains and smelly when air conditioner isn’t on. Stuffy odor from rug.

The room was clean and the staff personnel were very pleasant. Please understand that I am stay in a hotel, somewhere in the world,(not North America, Europe) at least 18 weeks a year. And yes, those hotels are usually a minimum of 5 star and I pile up a pile of points. In the states, however, I don't expect the facilities or services that I see off shore. It would be nice to use my IHG points, but the hotel would not accept them; I went to my old favorite for the US, Booking.com Unfortunately, this room and facility was not the value of the charge. Free breakfast? Out of food, and lesser quality than a no tell, hotel. The window air conditioner rumbled like a JT8D jet engine starting up. Sorry IHG, but you have to step up to the plate and balance your price verses true value.

We had a great time it was very clean and smelled beautiful through out the hotel. The breakfast was delicious and the staff were very kind! The only thing that was wrong was the bathroom sink drained slow! But overall the suite was very comfortable and I will come back to this hotel again!

Lighting is not good in the bathroom while applying make up. Love the location since it is so close to Fort Benning. Anywhere outside of Fort Benning is sketchy. Would stay again. Staff was very nice.

The automated welcome text I received shortly after checking in, mentioned I could reply to the thread for assistance. I did so multiple times without a response back. Disappointed that the service they offered did not work. The bath tub had black mold. The WiFi never worked. And as a rewards member I was not able to earn points for my stay due to booking through a 3rd party.

This was the nicest, cleanest hotels I have stayed in. If I could give more stars I would!

The breakfast was okay. Not bad, but the sausage wasn't that good. Our dirty towels were not changed out each day unless we asked for it, even though they said they would clean the room each day.

The hotel was clean, quiet very nice staf. It has a free breakfas /buffet till 9am, free coffee all day. A lot of shopping stores just a short drive and dining options.

The bed and room were extremely comfortable. The staff was so nice and inviting. I would highly recommend this hotel. When we come vack to the area, we plan on staying here again.

The housekeeping manager was very nice and helpful. The Breakfast was delicious. Those two statements are basically the only positive things I have to say about my experience here and the odd white man that checks people in on the morning shift I presume is extremely rude!!

So here I am again for the third time trying to submit a review I guess hotels.com does not want to post my review because it's the truth there's no profanity there's no pricing I don't understand why I keep having to rewrite this the stay here was horrible now that we have looked about to check out we have a number of things missing that was stolen when they packed our room up a day early because hotels.com mistakenly only booked us for one night we had numerous of items stolen from the hotel by room service they checked us out the room packed our stuff had it downstairs and trash bags the room was horrible first of all I had just went down and told them the morning before all this happened that the AC unit did not work it was very loud it never would cut off and I tried to explain to them the thermostat must be not working properly the state was just very uncomfortable from the start I would never suggest hotels.com or this hotel to anyone let's see if hotels.com post this review no profanity no pricing nothing with ill intent just the truth about what happened at this Hotel that we booked through hotels.com

We were in a suite that was supposed to have handicap accommodations which was NOT the case.There was only one hand bar in shower, the anti-slip strips on the bottom of the tub were so worn there was no traction and very unsafe. The toilet was not raised and VERY LOW with no handrail which did not provide the assistance one expects of " Handicap Accommodations"!

We were very comfortable here. Room had all the essentials and was laid out in a very functional way. Staff was courteous and professional. It's on our list of places to return to in future trips.

It was nice; just a stopover on the way to Florida to visit family. The dog area on the third floor needs repair on a fence and upkeep.

The hotel is very clean. The rooms are very clean. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. The evening front desk woman was very nice and very helpful. The housekeeping staff that we happened to run into in the hallway, also just very friendly and helpful. I have nothing negative to say about this hotel and it’s wonderful staff.

Stayed here with my family to attend my cousin’s graduation. The hotel is in the perfect location and within close proximity to Ft Benning and restaurants. The property was clean just a little outdated. The Air Conditioner however was very noisy and didn’t cool the room properly. The USB in the room we stayed didn’t work at all which was very inconvenient.

A typical holiday inn Express, very friendly staff, despite the fact that they were totally unable to fix the malfunctioning HVAC. It was 40 degrees outside, but over 70 in the room. Attempts to cool off the room were in vain. Room changes were not helpful, which indicates that the entire system was either dysfunction, or they had it controlled and weren't going to accommodate. Still, better than most of the options which, from the outside, were clearly much worse.

Only thing I wish they had, security in their entrance /parking at night. I had a man come up to me the first night and a woman the second night asking for money. They were not hateful but scared me. I was traveling by myself. Grandson graduated from Airborne!!! I would stay there again.

Every thing was great

We arrived very late , I was called to ask if we were coming. I told them we would be. They could not give us the room we requested and reserved , they were totally full. Which ok. They credited us 80 dollars. I did not throw a fit or stomp my feet it was after 2 am and we really only needed the extra living space when our brand new soldier would be visiting. We ended up checking out a day early. 10:30 am the day before. Now other hotels if this happens credit us the night we did not stay. I had tried to change my reservation before the cancelation date. I called the hotel they told me Expedia would have to do it. Expedia kept telling me that they did not have rooms to change it. Which was untrue. I had the room for 3 nights I needed now only 2 of them!!! There was no need to stay an extra night out reason to be there could not stay the extra night. I don’t see why if we left before check out and the hotel was soooo booked they could not refund the last night. But they have refused. Being ihg members I’m very unhappy with this decision !! Other hotel chains do this. Especially when you check out before the last day starts. They were totally booked. I’m sure they could fill the room. Not cool ihg. Not at all.

My stay at this location was mediocre. There was some sticky substance on the night stand. They didn't have any towels clean to supply to guest. Breakfast wasn't much to talk about with minimal options and cold food that should be warm/hot depending on the item.

The people who work here are helpful and lovely! We would certainly stay here again!

The hotel itself was very nice and the staff was very friendly. It was close to the Army base. The only problem of it was the location of the hotel. The Army didn't want the soldiers to be outside unless leaving for another location. We were told that it is not located in a good location.

Comfortable beds with lots of pillows. Very close to Fort Benning.

Nice and clean. Beds were comfortable, not too soft or too firm. I prefer a firm mattress but not too firm. I don't mind the trend towards large dispensers for the shampoo and conditioner but would prefer the mini body wash containers or bar soap that has not been used by others.

The tub didn't drain. Requested towels, only had one to give, floor was sticky and dirty. The elevator had running water in it was out of order and had to carry our luggage down for flights of stairs

the staff at the front was amazing but the place itself was gross. The towels in my room were stained, bugs coming out of the shower and there was already hair all over the shower walls and sink as if it hadn’t been cleaned. For breakfast they had a juice dispenser and you could tell the dispenser was never cleaned or at least hasn’t been in a while. Wouldn’t recommend for even a quick stay.

Gave my prepaid room away- then found me a handicap room that was gross. Toenail found in bed, dirty bathroom. Asked for clean sheets & a clean up while I was away the next day- assured it woyld get done.... didn't happen. Asked again- again assured- again not done.

We liked that it was close to the National Infantry Museum. We really liked the lady on duty at the desk when we checked in around 5pm. She was super nice and very helpful. The major thing we didn’t like was the lukewarm shower. It never warmed up comfortably. After a long day, a person needs a hot shower!
