Room was clean, well stocked, room service was great and had huge servings. Will definitely be staying again on my next trip.

when we were told that we had to pay for basic internet or had to be a convoy member, that really surprised us. on top of that, the exhaust fan in the bathroom was not working. with this being the summer time and it being humid, the bathroom was always damp after a shower. there was also a homeless person sitting by the pool access door when we came back to the hotel. this made us feel a little unsafe.

The staff was very welcoming and joyful. Check-in and check-out were easy. They do not offer complimentary breakfast, but it is centrally located downtown and within walking distance of many restaurants, bistros, clubs, and bars. The rooms are clean, updated, and they have good water pressure. The pool was open and clean.

We were in a handicap room with roll in shower. Shower was broken - shower head would not stay in place. Loose valve made it difficult to adjust water temperature. No extra toilet paper in room so we had to run down a custodian to get some.

Hotel was ok, but seemed clean. Parking is next to the hotel and seems a bit un safe if you are by yourself late in the evening or very early in the morning. they charged 29.99 for parking which seemed a bit high, for being in Colombia, SC. Saw many areasin the parking garage that had broken glass that might of come from car break ins. Hotel was a little worn, but close to restaurants, and felt safe walking to dinner.

The property is very close to the university but wish they would offer discounts rather than jack the price up on stays when they know there will be a lot of parents on campus some of us are already spending quite a bit just to get to the location. Also if staying there the Hub is right next door and you can see someone’s entire living quarters from your window so recommend keeping shades drawn. Lots of restaurants surrounding building and they close off streets on Saturdays for a festival that looked pretty fun. But overall the hotel was kept in great condition and the staff we’re super hospitable!

The hotels in a fantastic location for walking to restaurants and for Soda City. Breakfast was not good at all and very slow. There are other much better options in the area. Very nice bar in the lobby. Hotel is old and could use some love

This was my 5th time staying at this Marriott and I didn't care for the loud music outside of the hotel (an event) up until 9pm. I was in bed early and didn't get to sleep until after 9pm. That was the first time I was a bit unhappy but was fine when able to go to sleep.

It was a treat to have the Soda City market right on site on Saturday morning. Transmission Arcade is a few blocks down. Loved the bed and pillows. Food from the he restaurant was delish. We liked being close to the Capitol and the university. The location is perfect. If you would have a shuttle to the airport would be so wonderful

The night receptionist was not the most cooperative person. Whenever I come to Columbia I stay here. Never have I met a receptionist like this young lady. The room was not as cleaned as I’ve seen them in my prior visits. You may need to check on your staff and their work ethic.

The staff was great on my visit. However, the property is run down and not well maintained. It was not the Hilton experience I hoped for or that I've had in the past. I didn't have hot water for a shower. The room had a strong smell from a recent cleaning that was almost overwhelming. The carpet in my room was wet from cleaning when I went in. Not a great experience to me.

No pool at this property. I'm a coffee drinker and prefer coffee outside the room. I never smelled fresh coffee brewing at this hotel.

Overall we enjoied our stay. The only thing was parking. I paid $19.00 for parking but when it was time to leave the garage I was required to pay an additional $15.00. So I am not sure If I scanned my parking card incorrectly but that was the only issue. Overall We enjoyed our stay.

There were ants in my room. The GFI breaker in the bathroom kept tripping. The ice machine on my floor didnt work. Housekeeping left a dirty wet cleaning rag (wash cloth) on the desk area. No acceptable comps were offered.

Saturdays outside the hotel was an enormous farmers market which was a bonus! Only downside was the pool was closed for remodel when we stayed. Which there was a disclaimer about that before booking. Overall it was a pleasant stay.

The hot shower was not available when I checked in the room. It was unreasonable that I had to wait to use hot shower until 11PM. I wanted to get a refund from the hotel, but the receptionist were unwilling to solve the problem.

Getting to and from the parking garage is very inconvenient. You have to take 3 different elevators and walk quite a ways to get to your vehicle. Also they do not valet certain cars because of their value. I would think a more valuable car would be one you would want to valet. Other than that the hotel is great!

That my car was broken into in the parking garage.

I really enjoyed the location and the beds were very comfortable. The property has the potential to be an excellent choice. We checked on our room and the AC was blowing, but it was kind of humid so we put it down to 70 to cool the room down. When we got back, it was very muggy and humid. That night I could not sleep at all because the AC was not working properly and I was sweating all night. We asked the front desk to fix it and they sent somebody up and it was blowing better but after 12 hours to give it time to cool off, it was still very humid. They sent someone up to fix it again and the second night sleep was much better. We really wanted to enjoy the indoor pool but it was halfway drained and not open. Housekeeping was excellent and the showers were hot after a few minutes and decent water pressure. I would definitely stay here again as the market out front Saturday morning was so cute , I just wish the maintenance of the property was better.

Had to take a cold shower when I arrived and then had the same problem the next morning. Waited for the shower to get hot but made me late for my meeting as they were kind enough to move me to another room just to take a shower. Staff was very nice so hate leaving a negative review.

I Didn't like the fact that they Charge To Park In Parking Deck With A Reservation

Steve , the GM, gave me a ride to the SC vs.LSU game. I was in the lobby bewildered about getting there and he rode in a white horse to my rescue. He also safely returned me to the hotel. What a guy. There are good people in the world and Steve is the best.

Okay, got over that hurdle (small inconvenience) no big deal HOWEVER, What was a big deal, was coming into our room after a long drive and having to use bathroom, go in to find someones DNA still on the porcelain thrown .. GROSS GROSS GROSS ... They came in and cleaned it but was forever on edge that whole night ... and rightfully so, i found hair barretts in the corners of the room .. stauns on the table hair on the sheets (long, straight and blonde) mine is short, curly and black. That means the room WAS NOT CLEANED properly. I expected more from Marriott, I chose them instead of a boutique hotel because i thought the name would have accountability. I sadly mistaken. Convenience to the colonial life arena was nice but too many other choices to justify it, if its not going to hold to a high level of standard for cleanliness.

Checked in at the lobby was given a key to a dirty room that had been used. The front desk did apologize about the inconvenience. Gave me a new room, and the sink was clogged, tub wasn’t properly cleaned. The rear of the establishment seemed to be pretty clean and neat from what I could visibly see.

Beautiful facility. Great location. The bar was great service was wonderful the choices late night after 10:00 p.m. work perfect. We enjoyed our breakfast the next day we did till adult breakfast prices are a little pricey but the service and food were great. Modest holiday decorations that were beautiful. We will definitely stay again.

This was HORRIBLE. wasn’t told there was a 50 dollar hold on card when checking in so the price you were told isn’t what you’re going to pay. Wasn’t told we had to pay 20 dollars a day just to park and I’m not done yet, why the hell do I have to pay for WiFi?! Worst experience in my life won’t do it again

Great place to stay! Amenities were amazing with room service, fitness center and pool. Easily walkable to restaurants and shops. We even were surprised to have the Ram Jam Festival during our stay in the streets around the hotel. Wonderful stay!

This was a very good experience. They allowed me to keep my luggage at the front desk and gave me a late checkout.

Toilets not flushing correctly made noise when not in use , frig froze up in one of the rooms could not control ac. For price not worth it . Oh lucky I had my on body wash non in the shower

Rooms need updated. Linens and pillow smell from head sweat. There is no daily cleaning service. Housekeeping is sub par. Elevators are always slow or broken at some point. Parking. In a garage where anyone can park and my rental car got side swiped. Was more disappointed I the cleanliness of the room. Not good.

The property was average. The front desk unloading/check-in area for vehicles is narrow and impossible to navigate if several large vehicles are parked. The room seemed updated, but the bathroom was not as clean as it should have been. I wiped up a lot of hair from the countertop and tub. There was also a large sticky spot in my carpet. I valeted my vehicle which was great, but I had an early flight on my departure day. I checked with the front desk, the night before, to ensure someone would be working the valet stand and was informed that yes, someone would be there. When I checked out and requested my vehicle using the online system the valet stand was not open and a hotel employee had to get my vehicle. The process took almost 15 -20minutes. The beds are very comfortable and the food is great.

Stayed there 4 nights for parents weekend and it was a mixed bag. The walls were very thin, you could hear the floor above you using the restroom. Also my bed was on the hallway wall so it was extremely loud and I didn't get any sleep. Icing on the cake was the elevators broke during Sunday checkout time so a large group of us took the stairs with our luggage and the doors were all locked and we were stuck in the stairwell. The stairwell is the fire exit so let's hope there's never a fire in the building.

The Marriott was great for Parents Weekend. Room was spacious enough for 4 people. Pool and gym looked nice (didn’t use either!) Not as close as some of the other hotels to campus but Uber/lyfts were easy to access.
