Breakfast was just okay. Pool was great! Staff was nice, but didn't go out of their way to be helpful.

A future recommendation would be to offer “cribs” or pack ‘n plays on site for babies. Excellent experience.

My stay was very comfortable and I was able to relax and enjoy myself. Everyone was very helpful and the property is very clean. Rooms are very nice and clean. Food was good . The eggs could be scrambled instead of frozen round eggs. But I will be visiting again😊

I wish we had known that the hotel was being renovated. We chose this facility based on the fact that it had a workout facility, but due to renovations it was closed. The pool was also closed due to a chemical imbalance. Neither of these things were mentioned on the website, which would have been really easy to do. To top it off, there was an unhoused person sleeping in the elevator lobby on the morning we were leaving.

Breakfast was good. A/C good, the toilet and shower stall in the sams enclosure but its to small and has no room just to dry up only. The sink wach sink is outside infront of the bathroom, and the mirror to high for anyone 5 ft tall, if your 5'6" you wount have a problem using the mirror. Room was clean and the staff friendly and helpful.

This moderate price La Quinta was a pleasant surprise for the money. Very clean facility, rooms seem all upgraded (mine was) and the standard item free breakfast bar. It was the perfect stop off for a pet owner right on the highway. I regularly travel between Ohio and Florida through Columbia, South Carolina. This will be a new addition to my list of layover stops

Breakfast is good. Bathroom, rooms are clean. You see the housekeeping staff cleaning daily. We never used the pool. There it’s no freezer in the mini fridge of the room but they do have ice machines on each floor. Also noteworthy there is no on site laundry. Laundromat is about 5 minutes away

We stayed for University of South Carolina graduation weekend. Even though it was a busy weekend, this newly remodeled property met our needs. The location was close to where we needed to be and they accommodated our two friendly well behaved dogs. The room was clean and had basic amenities but I wished it had an iron.(there was a steamer in the room). The breakfast was excellent. I thought it was a nice touch that there were cupcakes and snacks in the lobby on arrival to celebrate the graduates of USC!

The hotel is freshly renovated, feels very modern and the room even had a clothes steamer (which my daughter needed for a dress). Breakfast was well stocked and the staff friendly and helpful.

The air conditioner in my room was a wall thermostat that was set at 75. When you tried to turn it down it went back to 75. Called front desk and he was clueless on what to do. It was so muggy it was miserable. For the price of two nights I would not stay again. I will say the rooms were very clean!

However, the shower/tub had no grab bars and not tub mat which made the bottom of tub very slippery and possible to fall down easily. The outside pool area looked very modern and somewhat secluded. However, the front parking area in unfinished recently demolished restaurant parking and the back parking lot is spacious, but didn't seem secure.

Fine for our needs, 1 night stop on road trip. The air conditioner was very loud and kept waking us up. The floor was dirty, had to keep shoes on. Bed was comfortable, people were nice.

What I liked about the hotel was the staff were friendly bed was clean. What I didn’t like was there was no amenities to be used accept the pool that was close, and they had no gym. If you look at the place you can tell it’s old and there not going to do anything to really fix it But I honestly wouldn’t recommend this hotel if I would have knew all that I would have def booked a different hotel.

My overall experience is so comfortable that it's going to be hard for others to impress me. The staff was professional which was impressive in itself as we seem to lack professionality in our country these days. The cleanliness was so appreciated you have no idea. It was quiet even the other guests were exceptional.. if I'm ever in the area again that is where I plan to stay. I can't think of anything that I didn't like.

There were 3 rooms next to us which each had dogs that barked and woke us up numerous times during the night. Guests with pets should not be located next door to guests who do not have pets.

Good location and room was spacious and the hotel was very quite. I left a pair of prescription glasses that I did not realize and the hotel called within hours of my departure to let me know they found them in the room.

The “refreshed” rooms have poorly installed shower doors. They were literally falling off their brackets. A true hazard as they are glass. Reported to front and they moved us to another “refreshed” room where those shower doors were also not hung properly but not as dangerous as the first room.

Room was very nice. Just renovated BUT do not get an “adjoining” room. You can hear the people next door like they were standing beside your bed. Also, the key lock on the side door of the hotel didn’t work consistently. Had to keep playing with it. Very frustrating.

Everything was great! I wish they had meat options for people who don't eat pork. Also hope they can get better creamer for coffee. I hate half and half... housekeeping can do better on the floors in the rooms a lot of hair on the floors. Other then that always great. Maintenance guy was fast and friendly great service.

The location was great for what we needed. The room was clean and extremely spacious. Breakfast had a lot of options. The elevators honestly felt unsafe. Rattling, shaking, and lots of noise. We were nervous a couple times to get on them. Also, a TV guide really should be provided. Having to go through every single channel was time consuming. One night it took us OVER 20 minutes to find something kid-appropriate because we didn’t have a guide to know the kids’ channels.

First impressions were great. The front desk attendant, Kimora, provided a top notch welcome with prompt service and courtesy. The room was comfortable. Nice breakfast provided. The property was in a good location with proximity to the highway and restaurants. The parking had a nice privacy fence around it that helped provide safety. All good.

I called the front desk and they came up and first told me there were no rooms for me to move to. Why should I move? Then they told me they didn't have a key to the room where the dogs were. Really, no master key? A lie... I thought about just leaving that night but had a long drive home. I couldn't wait to get out of that place in the morning.

No one at reception noticed 2 people out front vaping. It was the front desk person and another employee. She was very rude and unable to properly explain the pet policy. Told us to leave if we didn't like it. And refused to call the manager when requesting it. Said she didnt want to. Several people hanging out in parking lot with laptops for long periods of time that were not guest. There are so many hotels surrounding this one I wouldn't pick one that's run this unprofessionally.

My over score is a 5 stars. Hotel under new management. Some construction going on but it's not an eye sore and for that reason is why I give is 5 stars. Great location off the highway and a few restaurants close by to grab something quick to eat. Had a microwave problem it was fixed in 45min. Awesome!

The staff was very courteous and helpful with helping explain that expedia was giving me the run around on getting a refund. Although I still got charged more than what the receipt from the hotel shows. I do not recommend booking with expedia

We were without water from 9 am - 5pm because there were “fixing” a problem. They ask for my cc to put on file but then end up charging it for no reasons. When I called they couldn’t locate when I stayed at the hotel. It wasn’t pleasant and will not be staying at another one of their hotel.

Outside of hotel in parking lot, several drunk roudy folks, and folks smoking pot in front of the hotel.

The worst hotel ever!

Second thing is, I have a physical problem. I have to sit in a chair of sleep. We asked May to bring us an extra sheet in a blanket that never happened. We had to go down to my desk and get it. The third thing was when they made our bed. All they did was just throw cover over a pillow and they never once swept the floor were there. I left the bobby pin in the floor just to see and they never swept. No, I wouldn't stay there again.

The wifi was not working well. Breakfast could use more fresh fruit, yogurt, etc. The hotel halls and elevators also need upkeep. But the room was clean and comfortable, and the staff was courteous.

The only down side is so many people don’t clean up their dog poop. It’s gross outside.

This was your basic mediocre hotel stay. This location appeared to have long term rentals on site. There were people sitting and walking around the parking lot outside smoking in their pajamas. They appeared to be long term residents and not actual traveling hotel guests.

Everything was great! New clean room, really comfy beds and large selection for breakfast! And Del Marie was exceptional on the front deck. Will be back...

The updated room is esthetically pleasing and modern. Best stay for your dollar in this area. The staff is all pleasant and even through the aging of the building they seem to be managing well. The elevators are a lil janky but they work. I didn't try the breakfast this visit.

First off the renovations were done very nicely. Loved the decor. Loved the AC unit as it knew to change from cool to heat when the room was too cool and vice versa. My rating would have been a 5 but there were a few things that I would change or fix. One, the showers water only got up to lukewarm. The microwave did the countdown but did not do the warming. And lastly, the staff knocking on the doors at 8:00am to announce that checkout was at 11. We were aware of that during booking. Minus those things we enjoyed the stay. Would book again.

Check in was quick and easy after entering my information online. The lady who checked me in was nice and courteous. The room was clean and we'll prepared.

The room was clean and nice none of their “refreshed” rooms as they call it. Not sure I would want to risk one that isn’t considered this based in the condition outside the property and as you walk into the building. Clearly a very rough neighbourhood, people picking through garbage there was foul smelling urine in the parking lot, run down boarded up homes down the street. But the room was nice and clean!

Only negative is a very small parking lot.

Very friendly staff and a hot, satisfying breakfast! The rooms were clean and well-maintained everything felt fresh and comfortable. My only suggestion would be to expand the parking area or use the old restaurant parking for hotel guests. Other than that, this is a great place to stay if you’re in Columbia very close to the Colonial Life Arena! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The hotel was newly renovated but the bathroom fan was loud and needed replacing and so was the a/c unit! The staff was extremely courteous but the keycard to the rooms did not work most days, even though they blamed it on your phone. It was unacceptable because it does not happen at other hotels. Breakfast was nice everyday!! Maybe a few less carbohydrates!! I still would stay there again because the rooms were clean and I felt safe there!!!

The water was cut off on me while I was nairing my body. I ended up receiving burns. I would have given it a 5 star because it is nice but that experience ruined the whole stay for me.

The stay wasn't that bad. The issue was that when we arrived at the hotel, we were given a piece of paper that said the water would be off from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Since I know how to survive we had water. We got up early. Cleaned the tub. Filled it with hot water and had water for hand washing and to flush the toilet. Now the hotel did not compensate nor adjust anything for the inconvenience. Other then that, the stay was pretty comfortable. The parking lot is weird to get to.

The room is great. Check in was an issue. It took 20 minutes even though I pre registered. $50 room charge that is suppose to be reversed when I check out. The machine said it was processed but the front desk guy said it wasn’t . Hopefully it will be cancelled ok.

They were in the process of remolding, but the room was clean, bed was comfortable, it was quiet. The only bad thing was the breakfast. All three days offered the same options. Other then that it was a good stay.

Clean room, friendly staff, accommodated pet and convenient location. No major complaints although housekeeping starts knocking on doors and you hear the entire procession down the hallway. If you had a late night it would be obnoxious.

Someone on Our floor was smoking weed in their room overnight /early morning and it STUNK on the whole fifth floor -not your fault but maybe crack down on it and fine them so they go outside in the future

Obviously they were remodeling but our room was spotless and it was a safe location.

The tv and toy remote were unusable.The windows were coated white from water leakage and unable to look through them.Breakfast food was poor quality.Ceiling in room was recently painted but had cracks appearing in it. Fourth floor smoke detectors were hanging by exposed wires from the wall.The boarded up SHONEYS restaurant in front of the place,gave a distressed look to the area.Mirror on wall above lav sink was way to tall for my wife to use. A Motel Six has a better feel than this place!!

Overall we had a good stay. They are in the middle of a remodel. Our room was a remodeled ones, however the TV wasn’t programmed with the remote and it said there was no service to it. The parts of the hotel that aren’t finished or are in the process of being remodeled show age and wear.

We were on the fourth floor, directly across from the elevator and the ice machine, convenient. The room was clean and comfortable. I liked the extra hooks in the bathroom and the bowed shower curtain. Missed a shelf in tub/shower and NO grab bar upon exiting shower. Staff was polite and responsive. Breakfast adequate. Hot water for tea was not hot however. Had to re-warm in microwave. Is there a gym? Not sure. My card would not open that door, no sign for it though there is a small but inviting pool outside. Too cold to use it this trip, 9-11 October.

The hostess who checked us in was very friendly and made our check in simple and easy. The room was recently remodeled and was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was a bonus before checking out, we'd certainly return.

The location is ideal, but the room was not good. The room had a smelly rug, a very old TV stand, and broken drywall in the bathroom.

The layout of the hotel and the parking lot did not make sense. Parking was at the very end of the hotel and the main entrance was at the front. There was a door at the end for parking lot entrance and there was a single elevator at that point that was in less than decent condition. Since there was very little foot traffic going by the front dest the staff was basically asleep. The main good points were the room was newly remodeled and the breakfast was decent. I will book there again if the price is good.

Stayed while attending my son’s graduation from Boot Camp at Fort Jackson. It is only 8 minutes from the base and a Seven Brews right across the street. Free breakfast AWESOME biscuits 😋

Nice for a quick stay, but if you have dogs that need some play space, there’s very little green space. In the process of doing renovations, so expect a few minor inconveniences.

Just some areas you stay in wondering if your car will be broke into during the night. This location was that. Hotel dirty but room wasn't bad. Not satisfied at all with this hotel.

The side door to the building did not need a key card to open allwoing anyone from the street to walk in. Me and my family slept with our eyes open in fear.

This was the upgraded king suite room. It was HUGE and clearly the hotel is in the middle of some renovation but this room was awesome. There was an issue with the AC unit leaking water all over the place but beyond that the wifi was fast and i sincerely enjoyed my stay. I even went for a swim. I wish i had more time to be at the hotel Rather than the conference i was attending. Well done la quinta.

My rooms was very clean and the staff was very friendly they had some maintenance going on which caused some delay but the staff was very understandable and didn’t charge extra, i can definitely see the vision for when the maintenance and upgrades are finished. only thing I didn’t like was the area of the parking lot would 10/10 recommend

Nothing was unique. My son got bites on him and I complained to manager. She called me and said they did full investigation and no signs of bugs but she was going to give me half my money back for the room and now they are saying since they did inspection and nothing found I don’t get my money back but I have not seen the report of the inspection done. Also place smelled like marijuana just felt dirty overall

Bed was comfy. Breakfast was good. Room was very clean. The dove shampoo, conditioner & body wash were definitely a plus! It was great having a refrigerator, microwave & coffee maker in the room! Perfect distance from Ft.Jackson! I will never be coming back to S.Carolina, but if I did…this is a great place to stay!

Rooms are very old bathtub cracked closet door broken. Cleaning ladys only clean were its visible. Will not be staying there again room is too durty.

Breakfast was ok, not great. The only fruit was apples and only packets of oatmeal. (Oatmeal is a pretty inexpensive hot breakfast item…) The air conditioner must have had something wrong with it. It kept chirping - continuous - sound like crickets or cicadas were in the room. Had the sound been rhythmic, we could have slept because it would have sounded like background noise. We even turned off the air conditioner (despite a heat wave) to see if it would help and the noise persisted. The room was at least clean.

First room linens stained with red substance, room dirty. Changed to another room, dirty , too small room space for 4 persons. Staff very helpful trying accommodate

Was on my way to Asheville and got tired, stopped in Columbia. This is perfect for a night stop over, dog was $25, fair price and clean room. Check-in was smooth and would happily stay again if needed.

We got dirty pillow cases...lady at the front desk was not friendly at all when we were checking in... tried talking to her she had no sense of humor ...

The first room they gave us had a huge leak from the mini fridge and it puddled the floor. The second room, the door wouldn’t open. A maintenance guy tried to mess with it but it still didn’t work well. They didn’t move us. And the bathroom door wouldn’t open and close without extreme force. We were extremely dissatisfied.

The beds were hard and small. The wallpaper and tile was falling off the walls. The hotel is under renovation which is several years past due.

This was by far my worst experience . I had to go to the check in desk 4 times due to my room key not working . The bed was sticky . The air kept going in and out

It was so disgusting me and my family had to leave. The hallways smelled like smoke and marihuana. It was dirty and the ceiling in the bathroom (room 308) was falling off. Just terrible condition all around and to this day they don’t want to refund me even though there had been multiple phone call attempts.
