The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was extremely clean and comfortable. They serve a nice breakfast. There is plenty of parking however I wouldn't recommend bringing to big of a vehicle. The only issue we had was the water pressure in the sink and shower , would have been nice if they had more.

The location was good. The staff was excellent and friendly

The staff was beyond extraordinary! We were there for bereavement and the staff helped ease any tension or stress that we showed up with! Front desk was graceful and empathetic beyond measure. I will not stay anywhere else!
- 2.5/5
Location I didn’t dislike it. I’ve just stayed in better hotels for the same price. The bathroom being directly next to the bed and the closet in the bathroom was a turn off.

Staff was great and so was the breakfast
- 4.5/5
The room was nicely appointed, the hotel was quiet and the bed was heavenly! The staff was very friendly and helpful! While the coffee was great, the continental breakfast was not; the frozen pastries tasted defrosted and stale, and day after day of chicken and biscuits, while it may be a southern delight, it was not what I was looking for in breakfast.

As my travel companion said, "this hotel deserves more than 3 stars!" This place was one of the highlights of our trip. Seriously! I mean it! Staff was super friendly and helpful, the room was quiet and comfortable, everything was clean and the decor was a a mix of mid-century mod, art deco, glam, and a quirky sense of humor. The breakfast was great (good coffee!!), and the location is walking distance to so many cafe's, restaurants, bars, museums, parks, etc. There is a parking lot tucked away beside the building. Such a great place to stay!

Lobby is the key feature...a few too many abandoned businesses on the street detract. Basic room was a bit plain. Chicken and biscuits delicious for breakfast but they were 20 minutes late the day we needed to depart.

Sadly, large groups of unhoused individuals resting in front of the hotel. No on site parking. Did not feel safe for two female travelers.

Wow, what a wonderful stay we had. Clean, beautiful, wonderful staff. Greeted with a warm welcome as well as a glass of wine and popcorn. Our room was beautiful and spotless, excellently clean, comfortable room. Lovely amenities. Just a great boutique hotel, now one of our very favorites!
- 5/5
Cute hotel in perfect downtown location. Walkable to tons of restaurants, bars, and shops. Jessica at the front desk made our stay. She was fabulous. I would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Staff were courteous and the free drinks were a bonus. Cool decor with a throwback vibe. I would definitely stay again.
- 5/5
This was a great experience from the moment we arrived. The woman who checked us in was so welcoming and kind. She offered us their welcome snacks and a drink and check us in quickly. The room and the hotel is my favorite style – modern industrial. Super cool! The neighborhood outside was OK. I definitely stay here again!
- 4/5
The front desk staff were amazing! Nice big rooms and comfy beds. My only suggestion is that the should have more healthy options for breakfast, They had a nice variety of bagels, danish and fried chicken biscuits.

I’ve stayed at the hotel trundle five times before this visit and it’s always been excellent. Unfortunately, this morning I got a phone call from the front desk say that I needed to check out immediately it was 1102 and she told me to check out was at 11.. She said she would call back in five minutes to make sure I had left. Totally different experience today.
- 5/5
Our room was large and extremely clean! The staff were friendly and professional. We enjoyed a welcome beer in the comfortable lobby. We dined at Prohibition Restaurant on the same block. We also caught a movie at the Nickelodeon Theater around the corner. The free parking on premises was very handy. We loved our stay at The Trundle.
- 5/5
One note is there is no restaurant on site, which I was aware of ahead of time. However the hotel made up for this by providing a continental breakfast. Which included biscuit sandwiches from a local restaurant, pastries/danishes, bagels, yogurt, milk, juice, coffee, tea, etc. All in all we had a very pleasant stay and would definitely stay at The Trundle again when we get back to Columbia.
- 5/5

- 5/5
Room was spotless and quiet. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Only minus was spotty internet
- 5/5
The team was great! The room was amazing loved the ambiance of it all. Breakfast was light but enjoyable. Loved the location in walking distance to the local Saturday market, great restaurants, and activities. Will definitely return. Wish there was a parking deck on the same side of the street as the hotel, but the one across the street was not a big inconvenience.
- 5/5
The room was lovely, and exceptionally comfortable. Fantastic, clean bathroom with high-end products. The hotel's amenities -- like the daily complimentary breakfast -- also were great, and staff was extremely friendly and responsive; they were especially generous about accommodating my need to leave early because of an impending snowstorm. I am giving 5 stars for these reasons. Just a couple of notes: (a) the treadmill in the fitness center was out of order, and the door was ajar, creating a security issue; (b) there was a mysterious sticky substance on the room's floor, which I covered with tissues, but housekeeping just removed the tissues and left the sticky substance behind along with lots of bits of tissue; (c) the in-room coffee pod machine was great, but housekeeping replenished the used coffee with decaf, which I didn't notice until the next morning when I was jonesing for my fix, and (d) when checking in, the complimentary wine was a *lovely* touch, but when handing it over the desk attendant told me that I also would normally be getting a snack, but they'd run out. I would've rather not known about the snack at all than be told that I *should* be getting one! But these are minor notes; staff and hotel overall were great and I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
- 5/5
The hotel is less than 10 minutes from the university and is very close to all the shopping we needed to get my daughter settled into her apartment. I cannot comment about breakfast because we would leave before breakfast was served. ☹️ The rooms were very clean and everyone at the front desk was very friendly and polite. I will definitely stay at this hotel again when I visit my daughter.

Wonderful as usual

More variety of breakfast sandwiches. Someone at hotelHad a party on 31 and when we arrived back about 9:30pm there were no parking in parking lot behind entrance to hotel. There were several cars without permits. When I called front desk I was told they must be guest there for the party!!!! Excuse me but I’m a guest staying at the hotel. I was told I could park on level 2 in parking garage and walk across the road. Which is a very busy road plus my husband and I are senior adults. I was very disappointed. We were up at midnight and my husband checked and there was open spot. We had parked in another part spot reserved for another company ?? When I asked the front desk about that they had no clue what I was talking about. Then on 2 of January we went to leave and someone had side swiped my husband truck and left scratches all down back vendor of truck and left dent. I again asked front desk could they check cameras she told me she would contact manager about reviewing camera and would call me. Well it January 6 and have heard nothing. Needless to say we want stay there anymore. Thanks

Wonderful place to stay

Excellent and very Trendy downtown hotel. The staff was awesome and extremely helpful. I loved the modern retro look on the rooms. Parking was just across the street and very convenient. The breakfast spread was very nice. Overall a very lovely experience.
- 5/5
Sorry but Breakfast was just standard pastries and not good coffee. A light breakfast would be fine but make the coffee good and maybe fresh fruit and yogurt since the pastries had a little age on them. Just trying to help.

The entire place was spotless. Staff were very welcoming and diligent. It is nice to stay in a place that has personality.

Beautiful lobby, great location
- 5/5
The breakfast options were fantastic! The room was so comfortable and so clean! It felt so luxurious to stay here! The only point I could take away here is location and specifically I’m taking this point for the lack of convenient parking and clarity. We unfortunately got a parking ticket even though we were parked where we were told to go but after looking closer at our parking permit there was only one row that was supposed to be used and the desk clerk did not specify the row, only the location. The parking garage was across the four lane street and I would’ve loved to have closer parking options. Otherwise, the place was absolutely fantastic and we will happily be going there again!
- 5/5
Rooms was clean. Very, very nice staff. I dont have not one thing to complain about. I will be coming back.
- 5/5
Great room, good breakfast, friendly staff.
- 5/5
Loved my room, the staff were so very nice, very clean, cute area in the lobby to hangout and continental breakfast hit the spot. Also, the bed was super comfy and it was quiet during the night. This is my favorite place to stay when I’m in Columbia.
- 5/5
Hotel Trundle is the absolutely most adorable boutique hotel with the best staff. We only stayed one night but we cannot wait to return!
- 5/5
Loved this place. Will definitely come back
- 5/5
Enjoyed the stay felt like an event just being there!
- 5/5
Man this place is magical!!! The staff is superb!! The amenities are amazing!
- 5/5
The staff members. Mya or Maya (possible spelling error) was extremely courteous and truly made me feel royal. The facility as usual was top notch and the amenities were superb as well.
- 5/5
Great atmosphere, cool room, very helpful & friendly staff! Good downtown location. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend!
- 5/5
I visited from Brooklyn for my mom’s 70th birthday, and if I didn’t know better this hotel could’ve been in Brooklyn. The decor, rooms and and vibe were what I’m used to for boutique hotels in NYC. The staff offered gifts for my mom and suggested a florist and had it all in the beautiful room when we arrived. I’ll be returning and sending friends for sure.
- 5/5
The architecture was so cool. Love what theyve done with the building.
- 5/5
Second stay, very cute, quiet, and right downtown with restaurants, good coffee, and Saturday farmers market within two blocks. Walkable to township auditorium. The staff are super friendly and the free breakfast and amenities have lots of cute local touches. My home base for Columbia.
- 5/5
Everything was perfect!
- 5/5
Excellent!
- 5/5
Very comfortable room and common areas in the lobby. Interestingly decorated in an offbeat BoHo style. Very satisfying chicken biscuits and coffee for breakfast. Passing thru town and stayed one night but would book for a longer stay. Staff was very pleasant and helpful, too!!

From the moment I arrived (pretty late at night), I was greeted by Jess at the front desk who immediately made me feel at home. She got me checked in quickly, shared helpful info about the hotel, assisted with parking, and even offered me a drink and snack to settle in—such a thoughtful touch! The hotel itself is absolutely charming—chic, colorful, cozy, and full of happy vibes the second you step through the door. My room was immaculate (cleanliness: 10/10), with beautiful décor, comfy slippers, a plush robe, and gorgeous artwork that made it feel special. The bedding deserves its own shoutout—I slept so well, it felt like being wrapped in a cloud. Amenities? Another 10/10! In the morning, I enjoyed the complimentary breakfast and got some work done in the stylish lobby, which was the perfect atmosphere for a “working breakfast.” I also loved the quiet hours (10 PM–7 AM), which made my stay extra peaceful and restorative. This hotel really has everything: personality, comfort, and genuine hospitality. Trundle is hands down one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at, and I’ll definitely be returning every time I’m in Columbia, SC. 💕
- 5/5
Great big room, loved water and chair and desk, Cute lobby, free breakfast
- 5/5
Well situated, comfortable, and clean, with an excellent breakfast from local businesses.
- 1/5
The room wasn’t ready. I feel like someone actually lived in the room we were staying in. There were pairs, yes multiple pairs of shoes left behind. There were pubic hairs left in the shower and bathroom. Fridge wouldn’t close. There were so many sirens ALL night. Did I say all night? I meant ALL NIGHT. Not a great night of sleep.
- 5/5
Great boutique hotel. Our room was perfect and we enjoyed that the owners maintained some of the rustic material from the original building. Staff was friendly and helpful! If you visit on a weekend.. don’t miss the market on Main Street!
- 5/5
Walkable location downtown Columbia. Friendly staff and beautiful room. A gem!
- 5/5
Great place to stay in Columbia. Very nice staff. Walking to grerat restaurants.
- 5/5
Very nice staff
- 5/5
Very charming. Fun decor. High quality bath products. Comfortable bed. Only negative was the breakfast. Rather limited selection.
- 5/5
The property was beautiful! The view from the street is alluring but the interior of the property is stunning. I loved it so much we booked the place for our engagement photos. I cannot wait to return for another stay.
- 5/5
I liked the way the building had been repurposed, and it had a nice funky style, and was very cozy
- 5/5
The bed was amazing.
- 5/5
Such a cute hotel, I really enjoyed my stay.
- 5/5
The staff was very welcoming and helpful. The hotel is beautiful in the heart of downtown. Would definitely stay again.
- 5/5
Very nice hotel, the outside does not do the hotel justice. It was beautifully decorated and the lobby has tons of games and sitting areas to look out the windows and relax. Continental breakfast was included and was very good. The only knock we had was that we requested "maid" service but they never came. The hotel itself was excellent and I would definitely recommend.
- 5/5
Jessica was great at the front desk! All staff were great! Awesome location to the best restaurants in Columbia. Will definitely stay here again when visiting my daughter at USC
- 5/5
Great central location. Friendly courteous staff.
- 3/5
I was in town for a wedding. The hotel definitely has a retro boutique vibe to it. The lobby was beautiful and vibrant! Even though the rooms did match the photos on site for the most part; it did not capture the true room itself. The room was very dark and not much natural lighting. The bathroom was spacious but again the lighting was not great. The only real issue I had was the A/C not working well. I was told it was really hot outside and the A/C just could not keep up. They moved me to another room but it was the same issue. Thank goodness they did have a really good ceiling fan that helped me make it through! The front desk staff were super sweet but unfortunately the air conditioning just could not be fixed while I was there.
- 5/5
Hotel Trundle, you never miss! The excellence, the elegance, the exclusive and unforgettable experience — every single stay. My robe, my soft slippers… my SelfLoveMyCare treat! Thank you for making every visit feel like a celebration of me. #GratefulGuest #HotelTrundleLove #SelfLoveMyCare #ExclusivelyElegant

This by far was the best hotel and stay I have had in a long time. I travel often and this was such an amazing experience. We will be staying there again!
- 5/5
The staff was amazing. It was like stepping into a piece of Columbia’s history.
- 5/5
Cute boutiqueee hotel. Breakfast lovely. Staff amazing.
- 5/5
Great service, location, and environment!
- 5/5
design and decor of hotel!
- 5/5
Jessica at the front desk was so nice and friendly!
- 2/5
I really wanted to give The Trundle a great review because everything was well thought out until 2 gas powered leaf blowers cranked up right outside our bedroom window at 5:45 am until 6:10 on an early Saturday morning. Unbelievable. I never had that experience before even in big cities such as NYC & London. It really killed the vibe for the entire stay. Sorry.
- 5/5
Cute Boutique style hotel with great decor. Super attentive staff that made everything perfect throughout our stay. Will definitely stay again.
- 5/5
Our stay was AMAZING! The room gave me vintage loft vibes and the lobby was very eclectic and just my style and the staff was lovely.
- 5/5
The staff is quite courteous and the room clean.
- 5/5
Loved Loved this unique spot
- 5/5
Unique hotel with a distinctive personality. Staff was great and hotel was clean. Good location. I highly recommend.
- 5/5
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this charming and eclectic hotel! The staff was incredibly welcoming and always ready to answer any questions we had. The hotel’s decor was simply beautiful, and we were particularly impressed with the king bedroom we stayed in. It was extremely clean and featured a super comfortable bed and a spacious, gorgeous bathroom. We loved the overall decor of the entire hotel! We will definitely be back!
- 5/5
The hotel staff is exceptional!
- 5/5
I appreciate the inviting atmosphere and the welcome drink. I did not like having to pay for parking. Otherwise, everything was very nice
- 5/5
I loved the service from Jess and team at Hotel Trundle. Everyone was so accommodating and friendly. Breakfast was also different than your standard continental breakfast, which I appreciated. Location to Main Street is also a plus. I would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful charm and exceptionally clean!
- 5/5

Great place and close to the campus
- 5/5
I loved the location, it was near many activities and there was a food truck festival right down the block. Also ran into two celebrities in the hallway! Awesome bonus!
- 5/5
Clean, staff is very friendly.

The fit out is outstanding with attention to detail around every corner. The room was spacious and very comfortable. Glad we found this gem!

- 5/5
Beautiful hotel with a funky vibe. The rooms and lobby were both clean and quiet. The staff was friendly. There are several restaurants and activities located within walking distance.
- 5/5
Awesome stay
- 5/5
Good location and very clean hotel and room. I’d stay here again when in the area.
- 5/5
Great weekend spot
- 5/5
Jay at front desk was fantastic, there was a funky industrial ceiling design that was the only thing that wasn’t a thumbs up in one of the rooms and Jay brought us to another to see if we liked it better. This was great as it made our stay more comfortable. The building and rooms on a whole are clean, lovely, and a quiet place to stay.
- 5/5
The hotel has a very unique feel. Modern mixed with antique. We were greeted with a cocktail and the area to sit and enjoy it was vey comfortable. I did see reviews that talked about the breakfast and I have to say that was a little disappointing, chicken and biscuits were offered every day. It was ok, but nothing but carbs and yogurt offered. Fresh fruit and more protein options would’ve put the breakfast over the top. Overall we enjoyed our stay, just wish that breakfast was a little different.
- 5/5
We loved the hotel! Highly recommend.
- 5/5
Great hotel and location, friendly staff and very unique place to stay.
- 5/5
Gorgeous decor, friendly welcoming staff, lovely clean rooms.
- 5/5
Customer Service was Great and one rooms were Clean
- 5/5
Very cool hotel with excellent, friendly service. The location is great for walking around downtown.
- 5/5
Great property
- 5/5
Lovely hotel with a friendly staff. Good coffee in the mornings with complimentary breakfast. I love how they created a lobby area that invites guests to hang out and slow down with lots of seating, games and reading materials. My only 2 complaints would be the bathroom door doesn’t lock or close completely (sliding door with some gaps) and I had to park across the street in a parking garage. Fun, unique hotel overall though.
- 5/5
Great little hidden gem. Stayed here for 2 nights while attending the Masters and it was perfect.
- 5/5
New hotel and great look with the exposed brick walls. Huge rooms.
- 5/5
Great hotel. Well appointed, very clean, polite staff. Great location close to many bars and restaurants
- 3/5
However the place is very well decorated and
- 4/5
Love the eclectic style of the interior design. Staff is very nice and accommodating. I stayed in an extended stay room with a loft layout and it was very spacious. However I would not recommend the hotel for an extended stay. Would be nice for a weekend stay. Kitchen and related equipment is limited and no closet for clothes. Also the location isn’t great so a car is needed to get to decent restaurants and entertainment. The cost for parking at the hotel is overpriced and limited number of spaces.
- 5/5
Best hotel in Columbia S.C by far definitely be going again
- 4/5
It was very European
- 5/5
Wonderful spot in Columbia! The staff was very kind and the rooms were clean. I would stay again!
- 5/5
Staff was friendly and accommodating. Hotel and room was beautiful and clean. Parking was easy.
- 5/5
Love!!!
- 5/5
Our accommodations were exactly what we needed for a family wedding stay. Parking was a challenge at times during our weekend stay.
- 5/5
Loved it!
- 5/5
Hotel Trundle was a pleasant surprise. We booked via Expedia and was not sure what to expect. The hotel did not disappoint! The lobby is beautifully designed with mid century modern furniture and funky art. Our room was comfortable, clean, and nicely appointed. We appreciated the exposed brick throughout, a reminder of the history of the building. This hotel has character.
- 5/5
Perfect spot near the USC campus. Love the atmosphere and close to every thing
- 5/5
We stayed at Hotel trundle for an admitted student day at South Carolina. The staff are wonderful and welcoming, and the large, cozy & sunny lobby was a great place to sit during some downtime. The rooms are a nice size with a well-sized bathroom. It’s location offered a perfect place to stay for easy access to good restaurants and to visit the soda city market on Saturday mornings. There is easy access to hotel parking or a lot for a reasonable price across the street. We walked to campus for the activities we needed to go to, but it may be too far for some. My only critique is that it is close to a hospital downtown and there were some ambulance noises in the night, but I feel that all of the positives outweigh that negative.
- 5/5
What a gem of a hotel! Highly recommend! From walking in and the ease of checkin, to snacks and welcome drinks, a stylish lobby filled with games to play, the friendliest snacks, clean room stocked with luxury amenities, to the yummiest breakfast and easiest checkout. I could go on and on! Loved my time at this hotel! Very well thought out and executed!
- 4/5
Beautiful ambiance and decor and overall a wonderful place to stay. Close to everything and convenient with all amenities. My only wish is that they had healthier breakfast choices like fresh eggs or some gluten-free options and plain yogurt without sugar-filled ones, please.
- 5/5
Love the staff
- 5/5
Negatives - Either my neighbor had their TV really loud or the wall is thin. You do have to pay $10 for parking and there is limited parking. However, there is a parking garage across the street and a few spots upfront for loading/unloading. Overall, I will definitely stay here again for next trip.
- 5/5
Fantastic location in the center of the city, wonderful staff, clean, comfortable and a perfect spot as a home base for a few days!
- 5/5
We had a great stay. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The hotel is clean and comfortable. Location is great.
- 5/5
Very quaint!
- 5/5
great location, across street from hospital for those who travel to hospital to work
- 5/5
Hotel Trundle is a gem in Columbia right around the corner from the Main Street in downtown. There are many thoughtful and nice touches. It is unique and has a great vibe. The lobby is a comfortable place to hang out and have a drink. It is also where breakfast is available in the morning. Parking is offered at $18/day in their private lot right behind the hotel which was we found convenient.
- 4/5
It is a rustic hotel that is conveniently located right next to a very busy ambulance bay for the local hospital. The expansive view from our room was directly into the 15 car parking lot/hospital entrance. Well worth the $18 dollars a day. While there are few amenities, it was enjoyable watching people try to parallel park in the lot. And it’s a great family game to guess what wounds or illnesses people have that cause them to arrive by ambulance. Another fun game we played in the room was “obstacle course” because there was one tiny drawer in the bedside table, we had to leave our suitcases out in order to dress, change, etc. There is enough counter space in the bathroom for one shaving kit and a handful of toiletries. And the wallpaper was that of hands making shadow puppets. Spend your money at the Hilton or Sheraton that are right next door.

Hotel Trundle exceeded my expectations in every way, shape or form! From the minute, I checked in, I was wowed with the eclectic appearance of this hotel! The location was fabulous and I loved being able to walk to soda city market on Saturday morning, which was right around the corner. The breakfast was amazing and the coffee with some of the best I’ve ever had. I really hated to check out of this jewel of a hotel but I will definitely be back.

My wife and i spent one night on our way back home from a trip in North Carolina. The minute you step into the lobby you realize how special of a hotel is in the heart of downtown Columbia. The staff went out of her way to get us in a room with a view. It was a Sunday night stay and not crowded so they moved us to Room 201. I highly recommend this room. The complimentary breakfast was two different types of quiche plus your normal bagels and such and they were both excellent! Restaurants are within walking distance and a short drive to a couple of breweries. Will definitely stay here again if we are in the area.

The hotel was very cute and eclectic. The area is fine, but a little depressed. Our room was across the street from a hospital, so it was a little loud with the sirens overnight. Parking can be a little annoying, but overall we’d stay there again

I booked a King Suite for my wife's birthday celebration. From the moment we pulled up to the front door, we were just mesmerized! We couldn't help but take a couple of pics under the arbor. The desk staff were professional and courteous and the suite was just amazing! Everything was perfect. And the restaurant we dined was only a few blocks away so we walked to it. Can't wait to come back!

The hotel was very nice and artistic. Very chic! The service was also very good. Everyone greeted us and spoke, even the housekeepers were very nice and friendly.

We traveled to Columbia and chose Hotel Trundle for its perfect location that is close to the U of SC, restaurants, and shops. The room we stayed in was clean and modern, however, the noise from other guests and traffic was too much. We did not sleep well at all during our 2 night stay. That was very disappointing especially for the price we paid to stay there. I do not recommend a room on the first floor at all.
