Holiday Inn & Suites Columbia NE - Ft Jackson Area by IHG

Stall was nice and helpful.

The front desk rep that checked me in at Holiday Inn & Suites Columbia made a stressful situation become more bearable, not because a room was available but because she was truly a calming person, attentive, thorough, and knew her job. Her demeanor was NEEDED and on point. I made sure to compliment her in person. We didn't have any problems during our stay and may be visiting more IHG hotel properties instead of Hilton in the future because the Hilton brand has apparently lowered their standards. I'm not only saying it because of this incident, but I've experienced other incidents this year as well with Hilton. Let me add this is a great location for anyone visiting Ft Jackson, SC. Especially for Family Day and Graduation to our new soldiers. The location is only exits away from the main gate. We ate good at some local establishments near the hotel as well. Very good location.

I don’t have time to use the gym or go to the pool. I I’d not see the pool but the gym looked great. The refrigerator was small and didn’t have a freezer. That would have been nice to have. Paper towels would have been a bonus too. Chick-fil-A was literally right outside the door. It was super convenient to grab food and come back into the room to eat. It was an easy a quick (less than 15 minutes) to drive to Fort Jackson. I would recommend this hotel.

Over all cleanliness and updated room was nice. However the hotel was almost full and very busy. A lot of outside noise. Motorcycles raving till 2 am. Loud guests in the halls all night. But this was a quick rest before continuing our travels.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Front desk & Dining staff were extremely pleasant. Our room was very clean and well stocked. We look forward to staying here again in the future.

Shower tub was clogged, I notified the front desk the following morning @ 6:00 am. Told them I was gonna be out all day and to please have it checked out. Got back around 8:00 pm that night and they didn’t even bother to check. Asked for help again from the front desk around 9:00 pm. They send a guy up and had it done in two minutes, but I had to wait for the inconvenience of having it done. Also, I had to call down and ask for toilet paper but yet they said I had to come down and get it from the front desk when I get down there they have three employees just standing at the front desk. I thought I was paying extra for convenience not inconvenience. This is the worst holiday Inn I ever stayed at, I do not recommend to anybody. You would save almost $100 a night by staying at a motel six for the same treatment.

When I arrived to the property, it was a strong smell of gas entering into the entryway to the front desk. The staff that was at the front desk greeted me she was nice however, things were not organized and the property does not have proper parking space for the amount of guest the property allows. There was no where for me to park once coming back , I had to park across the walk way at another hotel parking lot.

No issues, got upgraded when the original room was already occupied. Wasn’t a big deal, the staff was wonderful, room was clean and close to everything we needed.

The water pressure was real low the refrigerator didn’t have a freezer compartment I was placed on the late check out list for 12:00 AM but still got locked out of my room at 11:10 AM 🤔

We were given a handicap accessible room and neither of us in our party were handicapped. There were beverages in the (open and non-opened) mini fridge and in the shower was the previous guest’s prescription shampoo. Plus the drapes were unable to be opened to let natural light in the room.

Our room was decent for our stay. The toilet seat in the bathroom was very loose, but since we had a short stay, it was nothing we couldn’t deal with. We were in town for military events and away from the room for most of the day so it wasn’t a big deal.

Well when we got there the floor clearly hadn't been vacuumed because stuff was on the floor. Then we went to put our stuff up and clothes were still in the cabinet. Also none of the trash bags were put in the trash cans. The next day we asked for a trash bag and towels. We were told we couldn't have a trash bag and if we wanted to throw our trash away we had to take it to the dumpster. The beds were soooo lumpy. A few of the staff were very nice and a few you could definitely tell did not want to be there. Would I ever stay there again...no way.

The hotel was very nice and clean they also have a bar if that is your thing. We stayed here because it was convenient to Fort Jackson base and it was about 10 minutes if that.I would recommend this hotel the staff was very friendly and professional.

Top of the microwave furniture was full of dust. Would have been nice if there was free breakfast available. Other than that I enjoyed that there were restaurants within walking distance. Enjoyed having the opportunity to wash my clothes before being back on the road but it was a struggle to get a chance because there is just one dryer and one washer.

Good stay , but breakfast should have been included especially for the price.

One thing I didn’t like was that the hotel did not offer any complimentary food with reservations you have to rely on the indoor restaurant instead. Despite that, I would recommend this hotel, as it’s pretty decent compared to other options in the area.

This hotel was ok for a holiday inn, the whole place stunk so bad people was smoking in the laundry room and right outside the door to go outside. We couldn’t escape the smell. And we had kids with us, very disappointing. But over it was a clean and up to date place. Hate they wanted you to pay for breakfast and it wasn’t complimentary.

The property was in good condition.There was music playing either in the hotel (another room) or outside most of the night and I woke up to music as well.

Was a nice stay, clean comfortable rooms, great staff. Only complaint: their housekeeping started cleaning around 7:30am on a Saturday morning…..would have liked to sleep a little longer on our getaway.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The hotel was very open, clean, and comfortable. The pool was open, bar was open and breakfast was wonderful. My favorite was the beds. They were sooo comfortable, like I am gonna start booking with this chain more just because the beds are so comfortable.

For time I step my feet in front door, l felt welcomed in this place and front office personal was outstanding customer service and great staff working as a team. Thank you very much.

We stayed at this hotel with some friends for 2 nights. We all had our own room. Each of our showers were clogged and wouldn’t drain.

I had traveled 16 hours wanted a shower. The shower did not drain so there was a pool at my feet and it made a very loud ringing noise that could be heard all thru hotel room and woke family. Lastly most hotels at this price include breakfast, for my family of 5 it would have been an additional 50 dollars. No thanks

The front desk staff was great. Very cordial and helpful. The room however was hot. It took a long long while for it to cool off. There also was no shade to cover the window; even though it was nighttime; the streetlights shining in made it hard to sleep.

Property was recently remodeled. Very clean. I did think it was odd there wasn’t a toilet seat lid in our bathroom. We had an issue with our TV, but management came and helped us quickly! Lindy was awesome!

Hotel is nice and quiet. But this is the first holiday inn without a free breakfast even though I made a reservation because hotels.com said the breakfast was free. I showed up and they told me that day the breakfast was $12. There’s a Chick-fil-A next door that would be less.

Long time checking in due to new person at desk who didn’t know much and was not closely supervised. The air conditioner didn’t work very well so my room was hot. Also I paid for an Expedia room that was advertised as “free breakfast” but was told when I went down for breakfast that I had to pay $12.95 per person if we wanted to eat. False advertising. Not happy. I checked out and left.

This was the first Best Western I stayed at. The staff was pleasant, professional and accomodating. The property was well-lit at night and clean. I don't travel enough, so I'm not sure if you have to request the trash emptied and fresh towels at the front desk. The breakfast wasn't bad. The facilities I encountered were clean and maintained. All in all, a very pleasant experience.

If you enjoy ‘grass’ the entire building reeks of it. The room smelled damp and they welcomed extremely noisy guests above us at 11:30pm to where there was constant banging and stomping and jumping. The staff was very pleasant but we will never be staying at this location again.

Great value would stay again. They need to fill soap in the shower dispenser. Staff was very friendly. They sanitize key cards at check out which I saw when we were checking out. Very clean place and the lobby bathroom you had to have a hotel key to enter which was very safe.

Cleaning staff is required 7 days a week in a hotel. No exceptions.

Terrible. Expensive for what we got. Very loud AC, not even a full roll of toilet paper at checkin along with empty body wash and shampoo canisters in the shower. Do not stay here.

It Wasn’t That Far From My Location Free Continental Breakfast Every Morning, The Friendliness of The Personnel

Bedbugs. There were none apparent when we arrived. We noticed one later in the evening. We pulled back the blanket and sheets and saw nothing more. Redressed the bed and before we could leave, saw another larger one. My sons and daughters were with me in two other rooms. I didn’t want to risk any of us carrying bugs home with us or being bitten. My family and I opted to leave. I used a cup to catch the two we saw and notify the desk attendant. She was very apologetic and told us the floor had recently been treated because management had been notified other guests on the same floor on other occasions had reported finding them. I asked for a refund and she said since it was booked through Expedia, the hotel could not issue the refund. Expedia would have to issue the refund.

The sheets, towels & rags were dirty. I went down to the front office to swap out the sheets that had stains when we got in the room. I was given sheets with even more stains. After room service came and cleaned our room the next day, the towels they replaced our used ones with had stains and strands of hair on them. The cleanliness is disgusting.

Rooms could use updating but a lot of dining options nearby.

Check-in went seamlessly. Clerk was polite and answered all our questions. Location was easy to find, and felt super safe for families with small children, such as ours. We would definitely recommend the property to friends and family.

Fresh blood in my pillow that seeped through to the pillowcase and on sheet. Various other unknown stains on bedding. Shower gel dispensers were empty. After 1st night was moved to a different room. Unknown stains on those sheets, dried snot on one wall, carpet had large white stain on it of unknown origin. Dirty hotel. Pretty sure there are bed bugs too as we both have bites on us. Management didnt seem bothered. I consider for nearly $200 a night, you could expect a higher standard. If i hadnt had such a long drive home, i would have left straight away!

Staff was very friendly

Nice place and convenient to the interstate. Place was clean and breakfast was good. Neighborhood is pretty sketchy. Would not feel safe walking around after dark.

The lady at the front was not friendly, she was having issues with the system which we did not make a deal about we were very patient considering we had been traveling for 10 hours with 4 kids and wanted to sleep. We waiting and there were literally hookers in and out of there!! Our room the pull out coach was broken had to move rooms. Room was ok didn’t feel comfortable in it just wanted to sleep! The ladies in the breakfast area were the best thing of the hotel they were kind and sweet. I don’t recommend

It was clean beds were comfortable. Breakfast was not great.
