This was hands down the WORST hotel experience I have ever had. The room was nasty. I found a chicken bone on the floor behind the trash can. Mold was very visible on the ceiling in the bathroom. The paint was peeling off the ceiling and walls. The rug in the room was coming off the floor and in one area near the bed, the concrete floor was showing and I accidentally stepped on the concrete area and my foot stuck to the floor. My advice is to sleep in your car if there are no other hotel rooms available in the area
- 5/5
Great place reasonably priced
- 4/5
Very good
- 2/5
A+ location walking distance to USC stadium however the hotel is very old, not sure if it’s ever been updated, running toilets, paper thin walls, icky carpet….however clean and comfortable bed, desk, fridge and microwave in room, nice small breakfast and great coffee. The front desk staff are nice. Ample parking
- 3/5
Parking in the back in a rather creepy area. Air conditioning fan could not be turned down. The staff friendly. We had to call her to figure out why the tv wouldn't turn on. She worked on it and finally got it on.
- 2/5
This place is so tired, run down and smells so bad. The ceiling over the shower was coming apart, the tub had mildew around the bottom. Plus, I think they turn the hot water off at night, could only get cool water at the bathroom faucet after 10 pm. Amenities were pretty non existent, shampoo and hand cream only. There was a small microwave and fridge in the space. I did not see any plastic cups in the room, thank goodness we carry our own. The heat/air unit was not very responsive. I don't think I have ever stayed in a worse hotel/motel. There was train track behind the motel. Parking out front was very limited, bigger lot behind, small driveways to access the place. We were in Columbia for USC graduation. Every hotel/motel in the city was booked. Room rates everywhere else were sky high $400 to $500 per night. We didn't expect breakfast in bed, but I would camp out in my car before staying here again. I will say, however, the mattress was comfortable, the one and only bright spot of the whole experience. Oh, and the location was convenient to campus events. Otherwise, this place was a dump.
- 5/5
AC was great, friendly staff, clean room, extra clean bathroom. This isn’t the Marriott but it’s nice and a GREAT bargain. I drove 500 miles to be here for my daughters graduation. It’s just a couple of miles from center of downtown / campus.
- 2.5/5
The staff was friendly and greeted us every time we came or went. It was easy to get to the UofSC campus. Overall it was very worn. There was a cockroach enjoying the bathroom. We are hoping we didn't take him home. We ran out of tissues and were almost out of toilet paper so we asked for more. It was not brought to us that day. The next day, we had to go ask a second time and have them hand the items directly to us. They also never came to check the rooms or empty garbage, we were there for 5 days. We didn't need the sheets changed, but fresh towels, without asking, on the 3rd day would have been nice.

Needs updating. Carpet, doors, walls old, air conditioner frames falling apart, some mold in bathrooms, no hair dryer, breakfast was disappointing. Not much security on the door to the first floor rooms. Exterior of hotel looks terrible. Staff was nice.
- 1/5
The room was absolutely disgusting if the other hotels in the area weren't booked up due to graduation season we would've stayed elsewhere i wouldn't recommend my worse enemy to go there
- 1/5
Dirty.
- 3/5
The a/c was loud but worked. Parking well lit, it is an old hotel and the building and grounds are run down but my room had been refurbished and was clean. Plan on breakfast somewhere else very limited selections. Not much in the way if protein except for yogurt. Staff was lovely and helpful. There was a concert going on right behind the hotel. Very loud until 11:00 pm.
- 4/5
A/C was super cold, which I loved!

Nothing The pictures of this hotel is very deceiving. Our bedroom and bathroom were not properly cleaned in the hotel had a very awful smell.

Adequate for a short stay. Thrifty choice
- 5/5
Yes parking was secure and room was cool all day/night. Great staff
- 2/5
The hotel and the room needed to be painted, the shower was not very clean, and our toilet leaked. It was definitely not worth the price we paid.
- 5/5
Great hotel!!!
- 3/5
Water takes about 40 mins to get really hot
- 5/5
The room was clean, and the staff was helpful. This was a great choice to have a place to sleep without spending a fortune!
- 3/5
My sister and I only stayed for 2 nights, and within those 2 nights we instantly noticed a moist smell throughout the hallways that lead into our room. As we inspected the room, we noticed there no was no coffee machine which is okay since we saw a coffee maker in the main lobby, yet what we didn’t respect about this hotel was the dirty shower and wobbly toilet seat. The staff however was okay, and for the most part seemed quite reserved rather than welcoming. Also, I would like to note that this area is not walkable to any of the USC campus and had no ways of getting there other than a car. This was unfortunate because we spent lots of $$ on uber and were expecting to be able to walk due to the close distance it showed on a map. This was problem because this made collage touring more expense and more of a hassle. Lastly, this area was not great for nights since it was noisy and we noticed that there was a sheer curtain covering our window which did not give much privacy at all which was scary to worry about since we were placed near the parking area.
- 1/5
I want to start with the one positive thing: the young man and woman who were at the front desk during my three day stay were courteous and kind, and while apologetic for my experience This may be the worst hotel experience
- 4/5
Very good
- 3/5
The room was clean and it was an ok place to stay but the whole place smelled like marijuana.
- 0.5/5
The location and staff were friendly It was a dump. Very dirty, holes in the doors and there was a banging noise outside of my room.
- 3.5/5
Breakfast was good and the seating was convenient. I usually use Splenda in my coffee, not regular sugar, it was fine though.

The staff were very nice, but the rooms and overall hotel could use some updating. Cleaning up the check in area and some coats of paint could go a long way. For the price I did not expect much, essentially you get what you pay for. Overall beds were comfy, sheets were clean and was fine for 1 night.
- 2/5
Blood stains on the top sheet that was on our bed. Room was dirty in general. Dead Roach inside picture frame in bathroom named Henry. But affordable.
- 5/5
It was a great stay!
- 1/5
Obviously sheets not even changed. Lipstick stains on sheets. Disgusting is a mild description. Never stay here. Gross…
- 5/5
Great accommodating staff. 10/10

If you are looking for a low budget, just a place to stay for the night, this place will do. Inward and outwardly it isn’t a loveliest and it is far from luxury but you kind of get what you pay for. The staff was friendly both on the phone and in person. The vet was rather comfortable and comfortable pillows. The shower got hot and the towels were clean, although a very low-grade commercial quality. It is clean enough, but not super clean. All things look modernized yet rundown. Banged up and dirty walls and doors. Climate control is from a wall unit. I needed heat and set to 81° It was just comfortable enough when bundled under the covers. I felt the sheets and towels were clean, while the toilet sink and shower not so much. The shower liner was dirty and mildly in appearance and smell. The shower itself is a bad design and water runs all over the bathroom floor. Location is really everything. Located very close to the downtown area, which is where I needed to go. They have complementary parking and the parking area felt safe and was well lit. This was strictly a place to stay for a couple of hours, get a shower, get some z’s. It appeared they had a waffle machine and some light breakfast items like cereal and yogurt cups, I did not take part so I cannot comment on all that was available but nice that it was there if desired. All in all, I wouldn’t discourage anyone from staying there I would stay there again myself for the same purpose.
- 1/5
Checked in and left didn’t stay the night room was dirty hair in shower cigarette burn in furniture and something red on wall overall gross place would not recommend
- 4/5
The staff managing the reception counter were friendly, courteous, and inviting. Due to no fault of its current owners, the structure is close to a very busy street and railroad tracks. Rooms to the front of the building are accessible to a lot of noise from traffic and train horns at night. The room and bathroom were clean and amenities good. The location is easily accessible to many University of South Carolina activities as well as the city of Columbia activities, restaurants, convenience stores, etc. The convenience is well worth the cost of the stay.
- 2/5
I actually didn’t end up staying here. I felt uncomfortable as soon as we pulled into parking lot. We checked in, got to the room and quickly decided this place didn’t meet expectations. Walked back down and checked out.
- 5/5
decent property for the $, plenty of parking, they need to include a top sheet not just comforter
- 3/5
Front desk was super friendly and courteous. Room needed some repairs in the bathroom and some of the furniture was stained/dirty.
- 1/5
Room could use a good cleaning, broken toilet
- 3/5
and the staff helpful and friendly but the hotel was a bit run down. The breakfast was not award winning to say the least. hotel bit
- 5/5
The hotel was close to the event I attended. It's a simple, family-run hotel with pleasant and attentive staff. It has the basics that a person needs, and offers friendly service.
- 2/5
You pay a price like this you get what you expect, so the goal of my review is to tell you go in expecting low quality and not the cleanest environment but it comes with the price
- 3/5
Staff was very nice. Room was cheap. Had hot water 1 of 2 days. There was a blanket between the Top sheet and bottom sheet, so that was weird and gross. Room was not attended between nights.
- 4/5
In my opinion a bit overpriced for what you get.
- 1/5
This is a very low end hotel. Upon arrival I immediately cancelled my reservation and sought out a new hotel.
- 1/5
We planned on staying here the weekend and ended up leaving early due to the conditions. When we got ready to go bed, we pulled down the covers and found massive brown stains all over the sheets as if someone rolled in dirt and had already slept there. There also appeared to be bug residue in the bed. When we did further investigating, we found bugs behind furniture and in the shower (not your typical palmetto bug). We then pulled back the pillows and found several condom wrappers behind and under the bed. At that point we asked for another room which was denied. Then asked for the room to be cleaned and we were told we had to wait until the morning. We were unable to be refunded for our stay and got zero help with an unsanitary room. I highly recommend against this hotel regardless of being so close to the stadium!
- 3/5
The staff is responsive. The location is great for football games. I would not describe it as luxurious, but since I was solo, it was sufficient for my needs.
- 3/5
Staff was friendly , helpful and on point . Hotel is very very dated but what you would expect from a hotel that is walking distance to the stadium. Not a place I would stay for normal travel but great place to stay for game days due to location and again , great staff!!
- 2/5
Stay wasn’t 100 percent hotel needs updates nice rooms. Seems 2 roaches bed had stains and hair just shook it off and changed the sheets. Drain in room 114 was stopped up ended up telling a worker. She came and looked at it and attempted to fix it.
- 1/5
Poorly maintained building. Room was not clear with a bad smell. Toilet did not flush and missing towels. We did not stay and drove to a different hotel.
- 5/5
✅
- 5/5
Clean room. Staff was pleasant
- 5/5
Great location for USC football game
- 5/5
Clean room friendly staff
- 3/5
If you want to be close to the Stadium, this meets the needs. Unfortunately, the room is pretty beat up, but the bed was clean and comfortable, and the front desk crew is friendly.
- 3/5
Great location to go to a football game. Besides that unsure.
- 2/5
The location by the stadium was the best part. The lady at the front desk emwas nice. The rest was really awful
- 1/5
Location is good to go to a football game but our room was dirty, the bathroom was particularly bad. Shower was nasty, and had no water pressure. AC unit was held together with duct tape. Workers were nice but our room was never cleaned.
- 4/5
The parking was good air conditioning worked good clean room staff was good
- 5/5
Perfect place to stay for the Sooners at the Gamecocks. Walked to the stadium from the hotel.
- 2/5
There were numerous broken and rusty things, including a bathroom door with hinges half broken off the wall
- 5/5
Room was clean and pretty newly remodeled. Front desk staff were fantastic. Air conditioning worked great. Would definitely stay again.
- 3/5
The property was all together clean the water pressure on the second floor was really bad water barely comes out took me forever to get shampoo out of my hair.
- 2/5
Desk staff was super friendly and sweet.
- 2/5
Although the room seemed to have new carpeting. The walls had several holes and patched holes. The air conditioning unit was dirty and very noisy. The continental breakfast was a bowl of cereal. The lobby areas were poorly painted and there was trash around the exterior of the building. At least the sheets were clean.
- 1/5
I had a dead baby roach in the bathroom and the ceiling in the shower looked like it was about to fall down and on the other end of the shower the paint was peeling
- 4/5
Clean room and good service. It’s not a luxury hotel but they don’t portray themselves as such, and it is priced affordably. Would stay again
- 2/5
Room had a foul odor to it. Entire facility is in need of a facelift.
- 4/5
This is an older property that could use a little cosmetic love, but the staff is extremely friendly and helpful! The property was just what we needed and was very affordable for a USC football weekend. This made a potentially very expensive weekend much more affordable, and, therefore, more enjoyable and stress free. Also, conveniently located near Williams-Brice Stadium.
- 2/5
The room was a 2, the shower water pressure was so low it felt like taking a shower in the rain. You also have to "request" that they clean your room. The breakfast options are cofffee or old cereal. It smelled of old socks throughout the Inn. Also the air conditioner face was on the floor. I was scared to touch it in case it stopped working. The staff spoke but weren't very friendly. I learned trying to save a buck on accommodations is not worth the buck you save. Its a thumbs down for me.
- 5/5
Great staff
- 1/5
Tv only had 1 channel, air conditioner fought to cool room, one of my towels was dirty when unfolded, small roaches, door lock battery dead, had to complain to everyone who worked there to get battery changed.
- 3/5
Staff was very friendly. About a 20 min walk to William Brice Stadium. Carpet was sticky. Shower had very low water pressure. Mini fridge did not work. They changed our room and the toilet did work. Changed to another room and that toilet didn’t work either. Put us back in original room and moved a working fridge in. In all 3 rooms AC cover was broken and duct taped on.
- 2/5
We came for a Carolina game and chose this hotel due to location and walking distance to the stadium. The first room that we had smelled of cigarettes. We decided to not make a big deal of it since we were just there to sleep after the game and wouldn’t be spending a lot of time there. When we got back from the game and went to go to bed…we realized the AC and tv were not working. We did get moved to another room…which had a working tv and ac unit… it came with its own other set of problems. The bathroom door was off the hinges and you had to lift the door up to close the bathroom door. There was a hole in the wall of the bathroom wall where there should have been a toilet paper holder. The “blind” was very thin letting in tons of light and the blackout curtains wouldn’t shut. Overall, the hotel was run down. There was an ac unit in the front “lobby” that was dripping and had a bucket underneath it to catch the water and Paint chipping off the walls. Staff was friendly but never again will I stay there. The convenience of the walk to William’s Bruce stadium was not worth it. I would rather take my chances with traffic.
- 4/5
Okay stay
- 2/5
There is nothing amazing about this hotel except it's location. The room door barely closed, breakfast was yogurt and cereals, my air conditioner was louder than the tv. This is basically just a roof..
- 3/5
The room is basically clean but there is the smoke smelling in the first room and the there are problems of room keys to unlock for the second room and the room keys expired two times during the stay in the third room.
- 5/5
Was ok
- 4/5
Only downside was my bathroom. Toilet paper holder missing/broken off wall. Toilet seat had a bolt missing, so it slid around... and saw 2 roaches by the mirror when I first flipped on the light. Ceiling in bathroom peeling a bit. Nothing that can't be fixed w/ some maintenance - and I only stayed one night, so didn't bother me enough to try to switch rooms (they were full anyway)
- 3/5
Pretty run down looking.
- 1/5
DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!!!!!! Manager Employees spy on guest. Beware of Rooms 108, 109, 205, 310.
- 5/5
Great stay
- 5/5
Stay was comfortable. Check in was quick and easy. Located in a good spot.
- 1/5
The stay was terrible, first we got there the receptionist at the front desk didn’t know anything.i booked two rooms for two nights the room I was staying toilet nor tv worked at all, asked the receptionist to switch rooms we did then the second room wasn’t any better so I just asked for a refund for the 2nd room and for the 2nd night we checked in at 2 a.m. and checked out from the hotel at 5 a.m. then the gentleman at the front desk argued about it with my aunt thinking we were asking to be refunded for both rooms and both nights when I shut had said that one room and one night, service was horrible receptionist was horrible just terrible try to avoid that hotel at all cost!!!!!!
- 1/5
Roaches and no AC. They offered ti move me to another room but after walking into 3 other rooms that smelled so bad of cigarette smoke I decided to leave and find and different hotel. This place is disgusting
- 3/5
We won't choose this hotel as it was dirty and smelled of smoke. It was outdated as well
- 1/5
But wait—it gets worse. When we had to come back and dispute a charge for a room we never even checked into, Nick didn’t just brush us off—he yelled at us. Loud, rude, and completely out of line. It was shocking, rude, and downright unprofessional. If you’re looking for customer service, go literally anywhere else. Now let’s talk about the hotel itself. The photos online must be from another planet—or at least another decade—because the place looks NOTHING like what’s advertised. It’s located in a sketchy area where you’ll want to keep your doors locked at all times. Bonus points for those of you who bring extra door locks to put on. The parking lot is a disaster, uneven and poorly lit, and I wouldn’t be surprised if roaches were planning their own family reunion out there. Inside? It smelled like ten cans of bounce that a** marinated in mildew and disappointment. The AC barely worked, the shower had no door (seriously?), and the floor felt like it hadn’t been cleaned since 2000. The WiFi Completely useless.
- 5/5
Overall enjoyed my short stay here, the room was cool for sleeping in a cozy bed and the shower was hot, I had everything I needed including a refrigerator. Staff at the front was friendly, had a limited selection for breakfast, but it included coffee; sugar and 2% milk so I was happy.
- 4/5
Customer service was great
- 4/5
It’s good chill spot
- 1/5
The AC in the room wasn’t working as good, bathroom was dirty and toilet didn’t even work properly.
- 1/5
Terrible
- 2/5
The location was in a half remodeled state of disrepair. People riding bicycle with backpacks through the parking lot throughout the night. Mold in the shower and sticky floors
- 3/5
While you could tell they have put work into making this hotel better, there were several basic maintenance issues that need addressed. The AC filter was dirty, the cover to the filter was laying on the floor, and the shower was missing the caulking at the base.
- 1/5
The carpet desperately needs cleaning smells awful has to turn the air on 63 to try and overpower the carpet. Toilet needed cleaning toilet seat broke. Creepy men hanging in hallway. One guy followed my daughter to car. After my daughter returned from a night out with friends same guy was waiting upstairs by the elevator when the elevator door opened. Just so happened we share locations and had already went downstairs to meet her at the hotel entrance. The look of surprise when she and I stepped off the elevator together. He had to be watching for her vehicle to return. Never ever staying there again.
- 5/5
Great stay!
- 3/5
It’s a small building. Our room had no outside view due to a shield house and there was NO pool.
- 5/5
Nice people
- 1/5
My daughter and I pulled up and it was clearly not a safe place for us to stay. People loitering outside, dirty, and absolutely nothing like the photos on Expedia. We left immediately and booked another hotel in the area. I have never "eaten" the cost of a hotel before without going in but this was the right choice.
- 3/5
The staff was very nice but the building was in definite need of repair.
- 5/5
Great place
- 5/5
I appreciated the free waffles and coffee. Very convenient access from the rear parking lot for after-hours entry. The room itself (one King, non-smoking) was nicely equipped and stocked with toiletries. Comfortable bed. Walking distance to many restaurants and shops, even the SC State Fairgrounds! I'm looking for any excuse to visit Columbia so that I can stay here again
- 4/5
.
- 4/5
Like how close it was to stadium as someone who works in housekeeping my self it good to see that the room was clean but steaks on tv and glass on shower i would use paper towels next time
- 5/5
good
- 2/5
Very small and not what we were expecting. The lady at the front desk was nice though.
- 2/5
Not clean. Loud. Has a smell. Sorry.
- 5/5
A clean place to spend the night. Front desk was very nice. Good price. Convenient to the Koger Center which is what I was there for. But, it is convenient to USC and all of Columbia.
- 1/5
Found a needle in bathroom! Hole in bible
- 1/5
Dirty. Roaches. Shower wouldn’t drain. Cold cereal breakfast. Waffle cooker broken. Duck tape holding up shades desperately needed painting. Desk people nice.
- 2/5
The place is a train wreck. The room door did not lock. The elevator, and esthetics are scary. The window A/C unit was filled with debris and mold. The curtain was broken and didn’t shut. The freight train comes through right next to the hotel every 3hours with horns. There were people above use that sounded like they were moving the dresser across the room. It’s a 45$ a night room in my opinion.
- 5/5
Very convenient and the staff was very accommodating.
- 2/5
Was very poor conditions not happy with the stay at all and wouldn’t recommend to anyone mold on curtains and ceiling
- 5/5
Good place if you don't mind the trains across the street.
- 1/5
What a dump!
- 1/5
The advertise pictures of the property is not what the real picture is
- 2/5
We were in Columbia to tour the University of South Carolina. We paid extra to get a room on non-ground level floor. We were first given a room on the ground floor and told it was fine. We tried to get in and the key didn't work. I then tried the key on a room across the hall and walked in on someone sleeping. They finally gave us a new key for a room upstairs. The sheets on both beds had stains on them. There was only one other car in the lot and no coffee in the morning.
- 1/5
Less than 10 minutes after arriving we went to the front desk and told them we wanted a refund. We left and had to book a new hotel room elsewhere. The manager would not honor any refund despite days of Hotels.com calling and us explaining the situation. Do not book. It's not safe, dirty, and the doors did not lock.
- 1/5
Did not stay. Place nowhere near what is pictured on the website. In sketchy part of town. Hotel in disrepair. Room smelled like weed. Asked for a new room. Guy goes into new room, (seen on security camera), quickly mops the floor and sprays the room. Walk in new room, floor is wet, smells like cheap cologne. Mold in bathroom. Nope. Not staying. Felt very unsafe.
- 2/5
The pictures posted are deceiving, looks different. The shower didn’t even have a shower door and near the baseboards had holes. We got there looked at the room and decided not to stay.
- 1/5
the toilet overflowed so they told us no janitors worked that late and sent us to another room that smelled of 10 cans of btfota. bathroom lighting was great for pictures tho. cleanliness was not in the building. i’ve seen better at super 8
- 1/5
Smelled like smoke throughout the entire hotel . Looked very creepy inside and out . 0/10 would never book here again .
- 1/5
Dirty lobby, stinky room, no batteries for remotes, no free breakfast as advertised, shower head was held on with tape, no shower door or curtain, the elevator was scary at best and the hotel is in a bad part of town. I will never stay here again or ever recommend this place to anyone
- 5/5
Great stay
- 5/5
Everything as listed - great experience at Gallus
- 2/5
Rooms are dirty, trash outside back door (mattresses, tvs, food service area dirty
- 1/5
Do not stay here. I went to check in not only is it in a horrible area but it looks like a big mobile home. The inside is dirty and smells. It’s also very noisy. Looks nothing like the picture. The staff told me I would get a full refund within 3-5 days. I did not and when I asked if I could have the persons name that checked us in and told me they don’t know. They could see that it was canceled so I’m sure they can see who canceled it. Says that a manager will call me. Save your money and troubles.
- 2/5
Dirty and smelled
- 2/5
It had roaches!!!!
- 1/5
My family and I were extremely disappointed with our experience at the hotel. Despite its attractive appearance in photos and from the outside, we were taken aback by how dreadful it was once we arrived. The atmosphere was creepy and unsettling, making us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. The façade of the hotel was deceiving, and we could not bring ourselves to stay there any longer. It was a complete disappointment and a definite warning to never judge a book by its cover. So we didn't stay i canceled the reservations and now im waiting on my refund.
- 1/5
Person working the desk was nice, but the condition of the hotel was terrible.
- 1/5
It was a horrible experience, and i still had to pay for it! Absolutely unacceptable!!
- 2/5
Lenny at front desk was unprofessional.

The room was generally clean and the bed was fine. The room was pretty run down otherwise with the door scraping the floor, shower head hanging down, no bulbs in two of the light fixtures, etc. It was much cheaper than other hotels in the area but needs some attention.

The frontdesk staff is really nice. I have to check out one day earlier due to my schedule change. And the lady in frontdesk reminded me I could apply for a refund through expedia. Thanks to her, I got back my one night money!

They have roaches. I asked for bug spray and they gave me bed bug spray. So they have bed bugs as well. 5 ft away from the front desk is a bench the starts out wide then narrows. There's a stand that has 3 cereal dispenser and across from the table is a toaster. That's where you get your so called breakfast. Just gross! You have to see it. The carpet in the room is dark green and stained. There's no way that carpet should be still on the floor. There was a lamp with no light bulbs. The closet was two long thin shelves covered by a window curtain. Before I pulled back the curtain I thought it was a window, NOT! I was sitting at the end of the bed talking on my phone when a roach crawled up the wall. I went downstairs to let the staff know but they weren't surprised. I asked for two large plastic bags to put my suitcase and belongings in. I was giving the hotel the benefit of the doubt that just maybe the roach was brought in by a guest. I got the bags and asked for bug spray. They gave me bedbug spray as previously stated. I went back to my room wrapped my stuff and sprayed. I didn't see any bed bugs but that doesn't mean they weren't there. After I wrapped everything I wanted to take a shower. I went in the bathroom and turned on the shower. As soon as I stepped away from the glass there was another roach. I said that's it and proceeded to find another hotel and checked out!

DIRTIEST HOTEL I HAVE EVER STAYED IN. No top sheets on bed. When I asked for sheets at the front desk, they pulled them from a plastic bag on a chair and the ones they gave us were stained and had human hair on them. The carpet was layer upon layer of dirt and stains. There were bugs on the sheets, the shower, and a small roach crawled under the door to the room. The smell in the room was terrible and made me cough - if the air conditioner filters had been tested I'm sure they're full of mold. We decided to leave immediately and when we requested a refund, the person at the front desk handed me a document with my name and address on what appeared to be a refund statement but that the "refund" amount was bogus - the amount was wrong and the card ending number was not a current or past card of mine. This could be considered fraudulent behavior.

Upon checking in the elevator and hallway smelled like weed. Then we open the door to our room, there was a cockroach in plain sight and another on the door. People a few doors down were checking out for the same exact reason. Filthy! If I could give it zero stars I would. Please don’t waste your time like we did. We had driven four hours, a family member wasn’t feeling well, it was 10:30 at night snd we were exhausted, having to load the car back up and find another hotel at that hour was exhausting, but worth it in the long run. I called Expedia the next day, they were super helpful, bc the front desk said we never checked out. I put my keys on the counter in front of the guy at the front desk, and said we are not staying here, he saw us leave with all our bags. They tried saying we couldn’t get a refund bc we “never checked out” crooks. They did refund us, thanks to Expedia. I am glad I booked through Expedia bc I don’t think we would have gotten a refund otherwise.

The hotel smelled like cigarettes and it had rusty and mold. We only had 1 pillow each 1 washcloth and towel each and the mattress moved when you went to sit on it. The mattress was also hard to sleep on to get to our room it was very confusing because we came up on an elevator but the signs pointed in different directions and we had to go through a door. The halls were stank and so was the elevator. The sheets had burn marks and the top sheet was on the outside of the blanket. I would never book here again. Glad I didn’t book for 2 nights because the sleep seem to be nonexistent.

Many issues with this property as highly not recommend.

Room was not very clean, desk was removed, bathroom door not closing, railways under the windows, lots of noise in the corridor with people entering/ leaving all night, noisy doors, etc…

After reading some negative reviews, I was skeptical of my upcoming stay, but I found that our room was adequately clean and the service was straight forward without any issues. They were even understanding when we stayed past our check-out time. I ran into no issues staying here, and was not displeased with anything. My SO was spooked during the night though, as the bathroom lights were flickering a little bit. Personally, nothing stood out to me that would have made my stay a bad experience. Overall, a pretty good spot to stay if you're looking for somewhere cheap!

When the staff was asked to bring cleaner sheets, the ones the brought were stained just as badly.

I booked and paid. When I arrived, they said I wasnt in the system. I showed my receipt but he said "we don't have any more rooms". Pretty sure they took my money and rebooked or bamboozeled someone else.

This hotel was infested with bugs and filthy.

I had to leave the property - refused to stay there as there were bugs on the beds, the elevator was so dirty, the entire hotel looked and smelled gross. The rear parking lot was full of mattresses, furniture and garbage as if they just did a renovation but it was still gross inside. Still waiting for my refund.

Was supposed to be smoke free, but the first room stunk of cigarette smoke. Second floor had a fire alarm with a dying battery that chirped all night. Room had a lot of damage and stained/dirty floors.

Well let start by saying , when you have mold coming out of the sheetrock - you don't paint over it, you replace it 😉. When you have more company in your room that you wanted. Yes they have roaches, i have pictures of it all...

I’m extremely unhappy with the whole situation. I am in the military, and my orders got changed. However, the hotel would not work with me in terms of cancellation or changing the dates. This is very unfortunate. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, and I’ve also left reviews with Google. I will not be booking again at this location. I may not even use Expedia in the future.

We didnt even stay at the property. Upon walking in, there was a musty smell to the whole property. Everything was run down, outdated and appeared unkept. Our room was filthy. The first thing we did was turn down the bed spread to find what appeared to be bed bugs, long hairs and possibly dried blood stains. Completely unacceptable!! We immediately went back to the front desk, where the young man working was apologetic, saying he refunded my stay and said he would address with housekeeping but still…gross! I have yet to see my promised refund post.

Owners should walk through each room and assess the deficiencies.

Unfriendly hotel staff and otherwise fairly dilapidated hotel. The pictures must’ve been taken after it had been remodeled, but there’s been no upkeep since. It’s an unpolished turd.

Trying to find a hotel in Columbia for under $125 gave us only one option. There were bags of trash in the hallway, barely enough towels, lights didn’t work, water damage on the ceiling & wall, fixtures pulling out of the drywall & the “breakfast” area in the lobby was disgusting. Lesson learned. Spend the extra money & stay on the nice side of the railroad tracks.

Housekeeping is near non-existent. Carpets stained and dirty. Bathrooms unsanitary. Ground floor windows allow for people to see in, no privacy. Door locks extremely sketchy. Blood spots on sheets. Hallways smelled of weed. Front desk more concerned with her cell phone than helping or fulfilling requests. The bathroom was absolutely disgusting.

There was no hot water, “we don’t have hot water in the evening”, the continental breakfast was fruit loops and Cinnamon Toast Crunch, no milk or spoons. Very gross would not recommend!

Just OK at best.

The location is great. The rooms are nothing like pictured. Parking there and staying there felt unsafe. There were old mattresses stacked up behind the building which made it seem like maybe there was a pest control issue that led to removing all the mattresses. The blinds were broken, the room was dark. a hole had been made in the wall and a very poor patch job done. The mini fridge was dirty as was the carpet. The staff seemed very unorganized and confused. This was a very disappointing stay.

This hotel was horrible. At check in, we were given 2 rooms that had not been cleaned. The 3rd room had what appeared to be blood splattered on the ceiling, walls and curtains. Hotel workers did not care about the issues we had. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

Hotel is in bad condition. AC/Heater didn't work in the room, ice machine did not work, Hallways, lobby, elevator are not clean. Room cleanliness was OK.

The management was extremely hostile and unhelpful. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

Our room was not very clean. Both live and dead bugs inside. A handicap accessible shower chair in the bathroom that was very dirty. The toilet wouldn’t flush. Stacks of mattresses and bed frames in the back of bldg. urine in the elevator.

I had been attempting to reach this hotel for days trying to cancel. They never got back to me and still charged my card. I am demanding a full refund ASAP! Did not actually stay here but this needed to be noted. HORRIBLE SERVICE FROM HOTELS.COM AND THE GALLUS INN
