Reviews
The hotel receives high praise for its beautiful property, comfortable rooms, and excellent staff. However, some guests express dissatisfaction with the temperature control in rooms and the value for money.

Amazing resort. Golf and spa were outstanding. Highly recommend.
- 5/5
Staff was amazing. Clean and beautiful property. All dining staff was attentive and wonderful. Chefs kiss to the delightful meals. Definitely a true getaway and peaceful experience. Even my kids enjoyed the stay & pools.
- 5/5
Would recommend this place to anyone.
- 5/5
Perfect all the way around!
- 5/5
Gorgeous place! Food was delicious. Loved the spa. Had one iffy experience at smoothie bar. Played pickleball. Used the hot tub. Lovely room. Wished we had time to try all the restaurants. Raining the day we went, but next time we’ll golf.

Very good
- 4/5
Property was beautiful! Room was huge, balcony was ideal, and location was quiet, scenic, and relaxing. The staff member at check-in wasn't the friendliest, but overall the staff were great. The spa and steakhouse are phenomenal!!! I was disappointed that I wasn't able to enjoy the live music in the Tack Room, as the staff explained that amenity is for club members only after 4pm. I feel if paying a daily resort fee, that should qualify for member access for this type of entertainment.
- 5/5
The rooms are HUGE and the property is beautiful! Everything you need and more.
- 5/5
Staff was amazing! Clean large rooms. Food was exceptional
- 2/5
It was beautiful the rooms fan/ ac was not working. i felt like i was suffocating over night . I ordered room service from the italian and it was awful. spend over a 119 dollars for a kids meal and adult meal and they were not edible

Very nice property. Very quiet. It’s in a neighborhood so no entertainment walkable. Not sure it’s worth mentioning, but the robes were incredibly starchy not comfortable.
- 3/5
Staff was some what snotty and rude. Being it is also a athletic club that has community members the staff treated the members better than the guests!
- 5/5
Very clean, wonderful private environment.
- 5/5
We loved our stay! The views are spectacular. I would have liked for the pool to be a little more heated. Not all of the pools were open though as we would have liked the adult pool. Overall, really enjoyed. The food at the Fortezza is top notch. Loved the unwind happy hour as well. We will be back for sure.
- 5/5
Our stay was fantastic and I would love to come back. The staff is exceptional. I accidentally left my rings in a locker after visiting the spa and both the spa staff and front desk attendant, Cole, made sure I got them back. The spa services were amazing (shout out Joshua,) and the amenities are fantastic. It’s a little far from town but the club steakhouse was excellent.
- 5/5
mtn view impressive, facilities impressive, breakfast buffet very affordable and delicious. Kaylie at front desk super helpful.
- 5/5
Went to a wedding and reception at the facility and everyone and everything was just perfect! Very beautiful views, accomodations were spot on, even woke up to beautiful Colorado snow! My favorite❣️

- 5/5
Great room, amenities, and staff!
- 5/5
Staff was very courteous and amenities where generous and well maintained . Would highly recommend the steakhouse for the choice cut of steak and selection of wine . There was a issue with a room next to ours but the receptionist Kaylee took care to see the issue was resolved that same day. She clearly went above and beyond for us so hope she gets commended. Would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Beautiful and dog friendly, very quiet and relaxing. Loved it!
- 5/5
The gym, pool and adult hot tub were the most enjoyable amenities. The hotel rooms are huge and the decor is very elegant. Not happy with the resort fee.
- 5/5
Beautiful room/suite and we practically had the place to ourselves

- 5/5
Gorgeous property and rooms!
- 5/5
Great stay! Would come back again but the extra delivery charge and service charge for room service is outrageous. I would let guests know how much extra they’ll pay for room service versus just eating in the restaurant so they don’t feel taken advantage of.

Everybody was EXCELLENT!
- 5/5
Room was great as were the staff!
- 4/5
There was no free breakfast that knew about. Housekeeping skipped us one day. Staff friendly and helpful, especially Jane
- 5/5
Acceptable spa, but great golf courses
- 5/5
Wonderful resort. The breakfast and steak house were excellent. Bring your tennis racket or pickle ball paddle, or golf clubs if you are a golfer. I personally enjoyed the hot tubs and lap pool. Our room had a balcony overlooking the golf course.

- 5/5
I really enjoy staying at the flying horse. It’s close to USAFA which is great!!
- 4/5
Rooms are wonderful!! Parking is easy. The complaint I had is the steak restaurant is super expensive and the bar area was so busy that we didn’t even try to get a drink or food there , so we had to go off site for dinner and drinks. The balcony’s are nice and spacious and pretty private.
- 4/5
Was disappointed that Some restaurants for members only
- 4/5
The room we had was pretty dated. The rest of the property was lovely.
- 5/5
Was a great night out.

- 5/5
Beautiful property, beautiful weather and very comfortable. Can’t wait to return!
- 5/5
We visited the spa and Josh was an amazing massage therapist and would recommend the 100 minute massage to anyone. My friend had the 100 minute facial and Morgan (?) did a fantastic job. The views at this resort were amazing. Spent an unforgettable Labor Day weekend at the stunning Flying Horse Resort in Colorado Springs 🌄✨ Surrounded by breathtaking landscapes, serene views, and good vibes all around.
- 1/5
The staff is pretty rude.
- 5/5
We love this place. A quiet and clean gem, with friendly staff and in great area. Excellent food and amenities.
- 4/5
When asked about VIP upgrades they said there weren’t any, that they were booked up. It was obvious that there was lots of vacancies, we never saw anyone else on our floor. They only offered a 20% spa discount on the second day of our stay. The room was decent but the mattress was terrible. You could tell it was very old. The facility and area around was nice and clean. The pool area was also nice.
- 4/5
Not a fan of their water pressure or lack there of. The pool area's were nice. It wasn't easy getting service and room service was terrible.
- 5/5
Very clean and staff was very helpful. The resort was in a great condition offering a lot of kids friendly activities
- 5/5
Beautiful property with plenty of amenities, friendly staff and delicious food. Quiet, peaceful setting.
- 5/5
Loved the pool/hot tub area.
- 5/5
Everything was wonderful. We are not golfers, so a few more amenities would be nice, but the pool area was fantastic. We enjoyed our stay.
- 5/5
Exceptional gem on the edge of Colorado Springs with majestic views of Pikes Peak. Great bed, phenomenal lunch on the golf course patio.
- 5/5
Amazing pools and facility!!! Very fun atmosphere for all ages!!!
- 4/5
It was very pretty. It was clean. Everyone was friendly
- 5/5
Beautiful property with spacious rooms. I enjoyed the pool and spa. The services at the spa were exceptional.
- 5/5
Amazing stay
- 5/5
Excellent resort, the best golf property in Colorado with spectacular views. Well kept clean pools and state of the art workout facility.
- 3/5
Overpriced for what we got.
- 5/5
We love it here and always enjoy a relaxing stay.
- 5/5
Absolutely beautiful location! The rooms are spacious and beautiful. The pool area and gym are top notch. The grill serves great margaritas. The steakhouse was phenomenal, filet and salmon Oscar! Watched a gorgeous sunset every night!

Wonderful place.
- 5/5
I want to personally thank Adriene who helped me so very much on booking another room next to the one I previously booked I forgot my glasses at the hotel and she was able to have it back home!!! The room was so beautiful and clean I had an amazing stay!!
- 5/5
Very premium feel to the whole property. Great, large rooms with balconies and views of surrounding property and golf course. Many extra’s included, such as golf course use and country club athletic club use. The property is also new and very clean. My family and I loved our stay! 5 stars all around.
- 4/5
The room was great but the wifi was public and neither fast, didn't use for security concerns. Housekeeping was consistent and respectful of my schedule. The hotel’s facilities were great but majority of them needed paid reservations like tennis, Golfing, Spa etc. I especially enjoyed the pool and the breakfast buffet was amazing and worth the price. The location is also perfect, with easy access to local attractions, restaurants. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing and interested in golfing. Just be mindful of all the prices before making reservation as there are additional taxes and fee charged for each day and services we use which might be quite usual in major resorts. Overall it was a great experience.

- 4/5
Enjoyed the property, everything was very clean. Our kids liked the water slide and splash zone. I loved the gym. The staff at the grill were excellent and same with the food esothe smoothies! Unfortunately, the jacuzzi was closed. We wish we knew that before booking.
- 4/5
Unfortunately, the jacuzzi was closed. We wish we knew that before booking.
- 5/5
Beautiful property, excellent amenities / customer service and the food is very good too. I will definitely be back.
- 5/5
Hope to come back with rest of family.
- 1/5
The two "nice" days we had were completely overshadowed by the utterly chaotic pool area. It was packed to the gills with not a single seat or lounger available, making it impossible for our kids to use or to even relax. To add insult to injury, the indoor hot tub was out of order our entire stay, another advertised amenity we couldn't use. Even the indoor basketball court, which we hoped to utilize, was constantly full with pickle ball players only clearing out after 7 PM – hardly convenient for a family vacation. While the rooms were clean, they lacked basic conveniences. There was no real coffee machine, just a pathetic instant espresso machine setup, and no microwave. The mini-fridge was laughably small, barely fitting three water bottles. For the premium price we paid, these omissions were significant and contributed to a feeling of being nickel-and-dimed. Overall, this resort is severely overpriced for the limited and overcrowded facilities they offer. We ate at the bar area and after soda, 2 small drink and 8 wings the bill was $79.00.
- 3.5/5
The one restaurant was completely deserted, no staff at all at 5pm when we came down on Thursday night during the "happy hour". The other was open, but pretty pricey for what we got. The shrimp had an odd texture and for $32 for 5 seemed not-so-fresh.
- 5/5
I thought the resort fees were charged by Expedia and then I was charged fees from my resort hold
- 4/5
It was very quiet and clean
- 5/5
The property was amazing. The service rating was only in reflection of one receptionist who was not friendly or showed any willingness to be helpful upon check-in. The manager was incredibly helpful and pleasant to work with.
- 5/5
Highly recommend. Great place to relax.

- 5/5
The Steakhouse exceeded expectations with not only excellent service but amazing food that truly showed the love and artistic abilities of a chef with a passion on fire.
- 5/5
The staff here is fantastic and professional. The Steak house is a cut above all the rest! Thank you for making our Anniversary very special.
- 5/5
Our overnight stay was delightful! Our room was very large with a balcony. It was exceptionally quiet, which I cherish.
- 5/5
very nice
- 5/5
Beautiful place will stay here everytime I come to Colorado Springs
- 4/5
It was great! And the bed was super comfy and the room was nice and open and had a great view
- 4/5
Staff friendly but should have a dedicated bellhop. Additionally if you’re going to advertise as a spa resort not only should you have robes but you should have slippers, especially in the suites. Lastly something small like a bowl of fruit or trail mix should be the room. Though there are some luxury elements it’s really a three star hotel with a spa across the street.
- 5/5
Loved the outdoor pool, and the property was gorgeous. Our room was great, but it is very odd that we couldn’t control the temperature. As a result, we slept with the sliding glass door open, which doesn’t seem very safe.
- 5/5
Awesome views!!! Only thing I would change is make sure I have a Mountain View next time.
- 5/5
Our stay was amazing. The staff was friendly. Everything was clean, top notch service. We will definitely be coming back
- 4/5
Incredible experience. Great customer service, excellent food, scenic surrounding. Family experience. Can't say enough about the service !
- 5/5
This was a beautiful resort.
- 4/5
Lovely property but don't like paying a resort fee when the hot tub is closed for some reason
- 5/5
Loved where the property was located. It was very quiet and peaceful. The bar was conveniently placed, only downside it did close at 10p every night. The food was amazing. Highly suggest trying the restaurants out.
- 4/5
The view outside of the buildings was beautiful. So many colorful trees and Christmas trees everywhere. Our room was very clean and nicely decorated.
- 5/5
This property is beautiful, it’s very clean. Staff is super friendly and accommodating. The room we had was perfect for our family of four, very spacious. Added plus was the balcony. Food was good and reasonably priced. We would highly recommend this resort and stay here again.
- 4/5
Not much to do around the property (other than golf).
- 5/5
The rooms were awesome, with high ceilings and lots of space. Great bathroom, beds. One negative is the lighting. You can't shut off the nightstand lamps independent of the wall switch. Also, there is a smoke detector right above one of the beds that has a super bright LED light that shines right on the bed. This was a bit annoying.
- 5/5
Accommodations were beautiful and service was exceptional!
- 5/5
Simply awesome. Great facility, great service.
- 5/5
very safe and secure environtment were the best part.
- 5/5
Beautiful and great food options and heated pool and hot tub
- 2/5
Some areas said closed for event even though we checked and there was never an event or anyone there. We basically just got to stay in a room, not be able to sleep until after midnight because of the thermostat issue and had to eat with our hands. It wasn’t worth the price just to be in a pretty area and building.
- 3/5
Not a good location to take in key things to do in the region. It’s more of a country club in an upscale neighborhood which is very nice just not the feel we were looking for.
- 5/5
The staff was great and accommodating. When we wanted to add a day to our stay and Expedia messed everything up, the Flying Horse staff resolved this very quickly. The condition of the facilities was great. Very clean and the room was amazing. I would highly recommend this property.
- 4/5
This was a nice hotel. I wouldn’t recommend the room service. They don’t have prices, which wouldn’t have been as bad if the food was better. Some of the best staff though.
- 4/5
Beautiful and convenient. Checkin staff on 10/5 was unfriendly and did not notify us when our room was finally (!) ready
- 3/5
Loud people
- 5/5
This hotel is absolutely amazing, from the architecture to the rooms everything was perfect. Went to the steakhouse on the property for dinner and was nothing but perfection. Room was very spacious and had a peaceful view of the golf course! Would recommend this location for anyone wanting a upscale stay. Will be going again in the future!
- 5/5
The whole layout was gorgeous - landscaping, architecture, etc. The rooms were large and clean, the food was excellent, and the surroundings were fantastic!
- 5/5
Beautiful facilities. Close to everything . The staff was friendly and accommodating.
- 5/5
Absolutely loved it here!! Complete heaven on earth
- 5/5
Beautiful property with large rooms
- 5/5
Quiet and peaceful. Beds were very comfortable. The room and property were clean. Friendly and helpful staff.
- 5/5
The fitness center
- 5/5
Loved the area and the property. Rooms were huge and food was great as was the service! Would definitely come back.
- 5/5
The hotel was chosen as it was closest to business meeting and was quite impressed with the size of the rooms and all of the amenities. Very nice property with nice views.
- 5/5
Spectacular property, beautiful room with balcony, tons of amenities. Highly recommend.
- 5/5
Great property
- 4/5
The WIFI was poor
- 5/5
We did not dine on the property but there are great spots within 20 mins to dine. If you have a few minutes to drive out of the way to this hotel, go for it! It’s lovely!
- 4/5
Beautiful property with amazing facilities. From fitness center to golf course and swimming areas it was great!
- 5/5
This place is beautiful. Close to shopping and restaurants. Pools are great.
- 5/5
Very nice place. Big room, clean and upscale. Great shower. We liked everything except the breakfast. Very limited breakfast. Kind of breakfast you get included at Holiday Inn. Need more selections and quality.
- 5/5
Loved our overnight getaway to celebrate my birthday. Room service was quick and still hot upon arrival. Bar staff was helpful and efficient. The use of the beautiful pool complex was a nice bonus.
- 5/5
Everything
- 5/5
Beautiful lodge and outstanding scenery and golf course
- 3/5
Gorgeous property. Mediocre food.
- 5/5
An excellent place for my family to relax and have fun that is not too much of a drive . They have everything that my family needs. They have an adult pool only , hot tub, good food, nice and clean showers.
- 3/5
Beautiful large property with nice mountains views and great pool. Breakfast and lunch cafe don’t have good choices and also very mediocre in general. Dinner place is nice and good food. You have to walk through parking lots from one building to another with takes away from overall experience. Our tv wasn’t working, called front desk and was told somebody would check on that but nobody did
- 1/5
What a beautiful place with really bad staff! Booked a suite for two nights, only made it one night and got kicked out because of a paperwork issues on them. System was down , etc. got charged for the second night anyway, they could not understand why I was upset, asked for my second night refunded 4 times they refused. So here we are, lots of other places to stay. I would avoid if you do not want your Father’s Day weekend ruined
- 5/5
Everything was good
- 5/5
A great resort property!!! High end all around.
- 5/5
I highly recommend this place. My son loved the pool and the room was really nice and comfortable. You cant beat the wonderful views and how convenient it is to other places.
- 5/5
Resort and rooms are beautiful.

The property was newly renovated and the restaurant there has amazing food and drinks
- 5/5

- 5/5
Loved this place.
- 5/5
Rooms were clean and spacious, our breakfast was amazing! so good!
- 5/5
It was a beautiful place to stay, and the employees provide excellent customer service. My only complaint would be you are not able to control the heating or cooling in your room.
- 5/5
The property was wonderful. Multiple restaurants gave great options for dining. Had a great time. Will be back to play golf.
- 5/5
Great checkin friendly staff , great place to stay at . Would recommend this place anytime
- 5/5
Beautiful property with great views!
- 5/5
Beautiful facility, great gym and spectacular views. Will definitely be back and will recommend to anyone heading to the Springs.
- 5/5
Excellent place to stay. The staff was friendly and helpful, plenty of parking space and our room was wonderful. Dining experience was great. Food was good and prices were acceptable.
- 5/5
Amazing scenery. Absolutely beautiful room. Food was delicious.
- 5/5
Rooms were very nice. Staff was very friendly & great service. The steak house is fabulous.
- 5/5
The staff were extremely nice.
- 5/5
Beautiful surroundings
- 5/5
Beautiful property, enjoyed it all
- 5/5
It was beautiful and luxurious. They kept everything clean. We didn’t want to leave the lodge. We could’ve just stayed in there all day. The staff was friendly and professional. Would love to go back again soon.
- 5/5
This is a very new property and it was done right is all I can say. A lot of thought went into things like security and safety. Rooms are great, they did a lot to sound proof them. Any time I return to Colorado Springs, this is where I will stay. It's better than the Broadmoor at less than half the price. Excellent place to stay!!
- 5/5
Loved our stay here! Will definitely be back! Fantastic room, quiet, clean, had all the amenities we needed. Bed was super comfortable. Couldn’t have been happier
- 5/5
We had a wonderful time! All of the staff were helpful and welcoming. I will be back.
- 2/5
The in room temperature was 68 throughout the stay. The temperature would not change based on what we set it at. Found out the next morning that its controlled by the properties and they have to be the one to change it. The knob for the shower was turned around so "cold" was actually hot and "hot" was cold. The staff weren't friendly or "welcoming," but rather to the point. All very frustrating to say the least. We payed for a resort style stay and got budget hotel experience.
- 4/5
Flying Horse is a beautiful hotel set in a residential community. It has great facilities and a super steakhouse.
- 2/5
We have stayed at this resort about four or five times and most of the time that we go there they are really accommodating and nice. This time it was a little different. Just felt like we were bothering the check-in staff and the dinner was not very good at the steakhouse. We had to send it back And we didn’t finish our meal till about 9:30 PM. We usually stay here for our anniversary, but this may have been the last year unfortunately.
- 4/5
but, the smoke detector green light was installed above the left side of bed which cast down a green light all night, hard to sleep. Went to breakfast at 8;30am,..no bacon, no bread..had to find people and ask to replenish.Asked for an omelet, they said only buffet, then a lady sat down next to us and ordered an omelet, which she got. Not happy about service in dining room...not professtional. Bar area had excellent service.
- 2/5
crazy hot 75 degrees in the room -Called they said we will have engineering take care of it, spoke to a lady We’d night came over but no one at the desk, 730-800. Just got back from hike. Thursday morning 8 AM, talk to a young gentleman, said we are frustrated it’s hot in our room we are heading out on a long hike want to make sure the AC is fixed. He mentioned that engineering will fix that, i said what does that mean. He mentioned that they control the room temp, he said they will set it to 69 degrees for you. I said that’s weird so you expect all your customers to be u comfortable at 74-75 degrees. We went on our hike got back and i went back to the office at 330-345 Pm. The same gentleman was at the desk, I said did they fix the AC or set the temp for us. He said engineering did it yes We went back to the room and it was 74 degrees. Went back over there after we ate at 640-650 ish and no one was there. Friday morning 6-7 AM no one was at the office desk, we went for another hike. Got back at 4 PM, The young lady said engineering would take a look at it, i said send them to my room. As i was walking back my GF said the AC just kicked on. Hallways are set at 68 degrees, about 5 minutes later i got a knock on the door and it was Enngineering or an HVAC guy he said . Yes we just tripped it on. We went to eat and came back friday night and it was hot again. We had trouble sleeping all 3 night because it was hot and uncomfortable.
- 4/5
The staff and rooms were great.
- 5/5
Excellent resort! Will go back again!
- 5/5
Very spacious’
- 2/5
Beautiful decor and large bedroom
- 5/5
We absolutely love this resort! The staff, ambience and overall cleanliness is something worth bragging about!
- 5/5
Its kind of an odd place to stay. Basically its a hotel in a country club. Everything was lovely, a little pricey. The only complaint was the elevator in the lodge had a horrible odor in it? No idea what is was from, but it was prevelant all weekend.
- 4/5
The room i had was a single king bed, and it was spacious, clean, and had high ceilings and oversized furniture. The bathroom had an oversized walk in shower, and all the amenities... extra towels, toiletries, makeup mirror. (No bathtub in this room.) The one thing I didn't prefer was the location. The lodge is over 30 minutes away from downtown Colorado Springs, so you have to count on an hour of driving if you want to do anything downtown. This is the biggest disadvantage of this property.
- 5/5
Beautifully decorated! Large rooms with balconies. Fabulous rooms!
- 5/5
Loved the pool area!
